staron | “I can be a little bit late for work today, can you?”
“Coulson, Fury and Hill are all expecting a report for yesterday’s mission from me first thing, it’s not exactly the kind of audience you want to keep waiting.” He mused, brows raised at the woman currently making no attempt to hide the way she was looking at him. Steve shifted uncomfortably under her stare, his willpower waivering the longer she stared. “Okay fine...” He conceded, barely hiding the grin he hadn’t stopped sporting since he woke up with her. “Just don’t mark me up like you did last time. I don’t need another lecture from Coulson about ‘having relations with colleagues’.”

"I'm a monster." buckynat
Natasha sat in silence in bed beside him as he spoke of the nightmare he had, of the memories that haunted him in his sleep. He spoke of the people he was tasked to eliminate, how he eliminated them, the blood in his hands. She stayed quiet and let him finish, let him slouch beside her like a man defeated. It was only when he stopped speaking that she spoke carefully. “James.” She moved so that they were sitting shoulder to shoulder, her knuckles brushing up against his but not really touching, not yet. “You’re not a monster.” She didn’t want to tell him all the reasons why he wasn’t. She didn’t need to tell him how Hydra used him, how they made him into a weapon, how he wasn’t in control of his actions then. He’s heard enough of that from her and from Steve. “You’re not a monster.” She whispered as she rested her chin against his shoulder, hoping that her words reassured him. He looked at her then and just looked for a long time before he settled back down onto bed and pulled her down with him. He’ll always have his nightmares, and sometimes hers came back to her too. But she’ll always tell him he’s not the monster he claimed he was. To her, he was everything but that.

hawkingbird | “I have no cover, no one to shield me if it goes bad.”
Clint’s brow knit together in confusion, brow slowly rising as he levelled her with his gaze, “You’ve got me, Bobbi.” He said finally, his tone implying she were stupid for ever thinking otherwise. “You’ve always got me.”

staron | “This business can be lonely.”
“It can be.” He agreed, hanging his shield up on the wall and quickly slipping out of his uniform. He’d just been extracted from Georgia with Sam and Natasha, and before that he’d been doing recon in Russia on suspected Hydra bases that were potentially still active. Between those and training with the new team, it was hard for Captain America let alone Steve Rogers to have any kind of social life, and he knew that Sharon was just as busy as he was, they’d rarely had the chance to see each other once she had rejoined SHIELD. But still, they managed. Steve lay down on the bed across from her, brushing her hair aside as he pressed a quick kiss to her lips. “
but at least I have you.” Something Steve knew just how lucky he was for it.

“It hurts.” buckynat
James knew the mistake he’d made as soon as he did it, the familiar yet sickening sound of her shoulder popping out of place from the way he had thrown her to the ground and twisted her arm back. They had been sparring just like any other day they would train together, neither of them giving up or giving in. In terms of what she could withstand, a dislocated shoulder was nothing, but Natalia couldn’t afford to falter. She had to be perfect. All of their supervisors were there now, watching, analyzing. There were only a few girls left now, some succumbed to the mission, others to the torture their bodies were put through. Most of them though, died at the hands of the four left standing. Natalia included. She was so close to graduating, to being free of the Red Room, he couldn’t let anything happen to her now.
James threw her to the ground and dug his knee into her back, tugging both her arms back and lowered his head to her ear.Â â€œĐĐ” ĐżĐŸĐ·ĐČĐŸĐ»ŃĐčŃ‚Đ” ĐžĐŒ ĐČĐžĐŽĐ”Ń‚ŃŒ ĐČас ĐșĐŸĐ»Đ”Đ±Đ°Ń‚ŃŒŃŃ, ĐïżœïżœŃ‚Đ°Đ»ŃŒŃ.” His words were quick and quiet, the mask he wore covering the fact that he were speaking at all.Â â€œĐ’ŃŃ‚Đ°ĐœŃŒŃ‚Đ” Đž Đ±ĐŸŃ€ĐŸŃ‚ŃŒŃŃ.” James wanted to say more, but he needn’t do so in the end. This was Natalia after all, she wasn’t taken down so easily.

"Why would I ever want to go home, if you're here?" staron
Who would have known that Captain America was such a sap? She certainly didn’t, but he’s always been sweet, even before he found out she wasn’t Kate the Nurse. Sharon rolled onto her stomach on the bed, smiling at the man beside her. "Maybe you should just not go home ever.” It was a good thought, him just staying in bed with her, but they were still somewhat trying to take things slow despite having already gone to more than a few dates, despite him taking up space in a drawer in her closet. But they were still trying to take it slow. “Or take the weekend off. I’m sure that you’re allowed to take a couple of days off.” Steve only grinned at her, not promising anything, but still moved closer to wrap his arm around her and kiss her before announcing that he was going to make them breakfast. Who would have known that Captain America made the best scrambled eggs New York? She certainly didn’t, but she was happy she knew now.

“I brought vodka and ice cream.” clint/nat
Was it dumb that she was feeling the way she was? Yes. She agreed to being alone, to being away, to not being part of James’ life for a while. At least while he figured things out. She’s convinced mostly everyone that it didn’t bother her, especially Steve. He was still a bit wary of their relationship, but as far as he knew they were just casually sleeping with each other. Clint Barton, on the other hand, was a different story altogether. Clint Barton insisted that she was a mess, mistaking her for him when he was being a lovesick fool. Still, she smiled and invited him in her apartment. He brought vodka--the good kind too--and she wasn’t about to send that stuff away. And besides, there was no point hiding from Clint Barton.

"I'll miss you when you leave." tommykate
“Don’t be such a drama queen, Shepherd. It’s just California.” New York was becoming too much. Too much of Cassie not being there anymore. Too much of Clint being a piece of shit. Too much trying to figure out where she actually fit in, where she actually belonged, where she could stay that wouldn’t cause so much hurt. She didn’t know why she even told Tommy she was leaving, or why he showed up. Maybe she just needed to tell someone... but she already told America. And Tommy had that look on his face that he managed to always wear when they were alone. “I’ll be back before you know it. And you could always visit...” What was she saying? She was stalling, that was it. Because no matter how excited she was for California, it was daunting. She’s never really been away from home by herself before. Without thinking, she leaned closer towards Tommy and kissed his cheek. “I’ll miss you too.”

TMI - TOMMYKATE
The second Tommy’s leg bumped into the sofa in the tower’s living area he crumpled forward and fell into it, vaguely aware of the laughter behind him. His head was still woozy from the drugs that woman doctor had given him. They were different from the kind normal doctors had given him, much stronger that even his metabolism didn’t burn it off as fast. He hadn’t moved this slow in his entire life. “Kaaay-
Hawwww-kate? Kate!” He drawled and - with a lot of struggle and effort - pushed against the sofa so he could sit up. He sensed her presence behind him, feeling the back of the couch dip a little from where her hands were leaning against it. Tommy dropped his head back against the sofa and saw her peering down at him, clearly amused at his state. “There you are.” He grinned, his expression faltering and turning to one of confusion. “Why are you upside down?”
Tommy’s face screwed up in concentration and tentatively reached out to touch her face, his grin returning as he covered her face with his palm. “So pretty. Pretty, pretty Kate. I missed you.” He chuckled and let his hand slide back down into his lap, his eyes bright though obviously dazed as he continued looking up at her. “Before I mean. You know that? Probably not. I don’t think I ever told you that I missed you, because I did. I do. Cos’ I like you. A lot. And I like kissing you. ‘s nice. You have really nice lips. I’m just saying.” He lowered his voice then, whispering conspiratorially and reached up to press his finger to her lips, “I don’t think I was supposed to tell you that. Don’t tell Kate. Shhhhh
” Feeling his eyes grow heavy, Tommy let his eyes close as his head dropped to the side, his cheek leaning against something warm. Her hand. Tommy smiled. Moments passed, almost as if he had fallen asleep. Then suddenly he frowned, his eyes still closed as his brows knit together in annoyance. “Barton’s a tool.”

“We could always just run away.” buckynat
“Where would we go?” Natalia began taking off her jewelry and then proceeded to take off the pins that kept her hair up before turning to James who has already made himself comfortable on the bed. “Paris?” She stepped out of her heels and started crawling onto the bed, placing a kiss on his lips when she found them as she settled on his hips. “No, Hong Kong.” Her fingers started working on the buttons of his shirt as she planted kisses down his neck. “Morocco?” There was a smirk on her face when she pulled back, but his expression was serious and she frowned. They couldn’t run away. If they did, they’d only find them and then what? Kill them? Kill him? She’d rather have stolen moments like this than to not have these moments at all. “You know I’d follow you anywhere, milii moi.” Her hand came up to cup his cheek, almost expecting for his expression to be wiped away and when it stayed she leaned in for another kiss. Soon she felt his hands on her thighs as his kisses became more urgent and she knew he understood. She’d follow him anywhere, yes. As long as they’d come back.

“Are you trying to hold my hand?” hawksquared
Kate didn't like seeing him like this - like a beat up old man who was so close to giving up. He couldn't give up. He wasn't allowed to. He was an Avenger, god dammit. But she understood that sometimes even superheroes needed a break. So sitting there in his kitchen, she placed her hand on his. They weren't usually like this. They had banter, sarcasm, and shitty jokes. Light. Casual. Nothing like this, and he knew it so it didn't really surprise her that he asked the dumbest question in the world. Kate pulled her hand away, rolled her eyes, and started picking up her things. "Look, Hawkeye, life's shitty. Sometimes your ex-wife wants to bang you, sometimes she wants to put two continents between you. That's just how things are sometimes. She'll come back, or maybe she won't. But don't beat yourself too much, okay? And yes, I did try to hold your hand. I heard that's what people do when they care about other people. Hawkeye out." She moved to the door and left Clint by himself but not before hearing a whispered ‘thanks, Hawkeye’ before closing the door behind her.

“I don’t think I can do this anymore.” tommykate
Kate knew from the very start that he was just trouble. He was obnoxious and annoying and she didn’t understand how someone could be so reckless, but she let herself love him anyway. Not that she’d say that out loud, not yet, not until she was sure. But there he was giving up before they even started. And maybe that was her fault for making him wait, for taking it slow. His was a fast pace and she needed a certain distance from that. She didn’t want to be one of those quick flares. She didn’t want to dive in and risk drowning. “You’re giving up? Just like that?” It hurt too much, and maybe she deserved it. Maybe she’s made him wait far too long. She sat there, waiting for an answer, waiting for anything really. But a silence fell between them instead. If she had the super speed, she would have sped away. But it was her apartment, and if he wanted to leave she wasn’t going to stop him. Not that she’d be able to.

“Sorry I’m not what you expected.” wanda/tommy lmao goodbye
No one knew what it felt like when Pietro died. He was literally her other half. They shared a womb together, spent every single moment of their lives together. She couldn’t describe what it was like when it happened, all she knew was that she felt his pain, but she lived through it. She was still living through it. All she wanted was her brother back, to have him with her with this new life that she was living. She was with the avengers, she was an avenger. He should have been there. He should have been alive. When she found out that there was a speedster in the city, she was compelled to find him. It was Pietro, it had to be. She felt him. He was alive. But instead, she was sitting in front of a child who didn’t even know who she was. He had the same white hair, the same attitude, but he wasn’t her Pietro. He was a stranger. “No, it is my fault.” She finally said. She looked up to Steve Rogers who stood behind the boy. “This is not Pietro. I apologize for the trouble.” She stood from her seat across from them and looked at the boy one more time, wishing that he was her brother before leaving. Because he wasn’t Pietro. He was dead. Nothing was going to change that.

"Stop it. Stop crying. You're going to make me cry -- Goddamn it." hawkingbird
“I’m not crying. It was raining outside.” He frowned, the dryness of his clothes rendering his argument null as he swiped at his eyes. “How many times do I have to tell you not to try to get yourself killed before you listen to me?” Clint wanted to be angrier, to be angry with her, to be angry with Coulson for letting her go on the hunt for Ward on her own - the least he could’ve done was send Barnes out there with her, but all he was was worried. And more determined to find Ward by himself. “You almost died, Bobbi. Again.” His hand instinctively reached out to take hers and squeezed it lightly. “Are you done with this solo mission yet? Or do I have to ask Fitzsimmons for their help again?”

"Sometimes I worry that you're just a really great dream." staron
Steve could honestly say the same about her. After everything that has happened and everything that’s been happening, it was still a little hard to believe that he was able to hold onto one normal thing through all of it. Of course their relationship was anything but normal, considering one or both of them were always on the other side of the world for weeks at a time; tracking down leads and taking down Hydra bases. “Why don’t you come back to bed and dream a little longer then? Hill can wait.”
