Dr Steven Gabel | FUT 1571 Grafts in the Frontal Hairline | 1 Year Results

This 28-year-old male was diagnosed with Male Pattern Baldness and wanted a hair transplant to restore his frontal hairline. He wanted to increase the density in the afflicted areas and so opted for a Follicular Unit Transplant (Strip) procedure. The patient has a good density in the donor area, and we were able to transplant #1571 ultra refined follicular unit grafts into the frontal zone in a high-density pattern at our Portland Hair Transplant Clinic as depicted in the photographs. The patient is very happy with his results and excited with the new, increase in density of the affected area. His patients' postoperative results in these images are 12 months from the original surgery.

I wanted to share the incredible experience I had with Dr. Gabel and his team.  Getting a hair transplant was very nerve-wracking because I was afraid of making a mistake.  I did a lot of research and consulted with a handful of other doctors.  It was important for me to find a doctor that I was confident in doing the procedure but most importantly a doctor that I trusted.  After my first consultation with Dr. Gabel, I knew he was the right doctor and I trusted his judgement.   I had a lot of questions around all aspects of the procedure;  Building natural looking hairline, hair density, FUT vs. FUE, scarring, what to expect appearance wise after procedure, timelines for re-growth, operation details (Pain?, meds, etc).  Nothing felt like a bad question and every answer I received was honest, with a well educated recommendation when needed. How common is it to have numbness two months after hair transplant surgery?

Numbness of the top the scalp is very common after hair restoration  surgery.   When making incisions in the balding area, the nerves that innervate the scalp are “stunned” for a while.

Most patients experience complete return of sensation to the top of   their scalp two to four months following hair transplant surgery as the nerves “wake up”.
