Danny Phantom Separate au

In this au Danny and Phantom are two separate entities. The two made a deal during Danny's portal accident. Danny was given a few basic powers, mainly intangiblity and invisibility. Phantom is the banished son of Paraih Dark. Phantom was starting to fade when Danny encountered him in the newly active portal. The two were both dying and struck a desperate deal to help each survive and so Phantom's core turned into an amulet that Danny now wears around his neck allowing the two to switch places quickly with their usual transformation. It's sorta like a Yami and Yugi situation for the two of them.

•Sam and Tucker actually don't know about Danny and Phantom being two separate beings, they assumed they're the same since Danny always wears the amulet and he never bothered to correct them. They're proven wrong about this assumption during memory blank

•Identity crisis was the result of the two fighting. The Fenton ghost catcher gave the two enough charge to be separated with some issues

•Danny learns that he and Phantom can temporarily turn into the other with enough of an ectoplasmic charge

•Danny could tell something was off about Phantom during the circus Gothica incident but didn't immediately chalk it up to mind control until Lancer was locked in a closet.

•Memory blank caused them to lose their connection which in turn caused them to lose their memories alongside the tampering of Desiree with her magic due to the wish Sam made. They had to relearn a few things especially after Sam made her counter wish

•Dani was the result of Vlad trying to clone Danny without knowing that he and Phantom weren't the same person which resulted in Dani and the other clones being extremely unstable

•Vlad is still a halfa due to his ectoacne

•Dan is the result of Phantom being corrupted when Vlad stole the amulet off Danny during the events of the ultimate enemy and the halfa trying to use the amulet. Danny tried to save Phantom which resulted in the teen's death, Vlad's ghost half being absorbed into the amulet and a weakened Phantom being overwhelmed and absorbed by the evil ghost half.

•Clockwork eventually removed the time medallion from Danny's chest

•Clockwork is Phantom's other parent and ends up as a father figure/mentor to Danny

•Danny becomes part ghost due to Phantom

•Phantom shows some of his real power during his fight against Paraih Dark since he manages to briefly send Amity Park back to the real world from the ghost zone. The fight took a toll on both Phantom and Danny. It was more of an emotional toll for Phantom while the physical toll went to Danny

•Phantom remembers bits and pieces of his life in the ghost zone. Phantom is 1400 in human years and is 14 in ghost years

•Paraih went mad due to a poisoning attempt by an observatant when one made a bid for power after sealing Clockwork in the clock tower with a powerful artifact alongside Phantom. He was told his husband and son were lost and in his grief drank the blood blossom wine that ended with him going mad and leading to him needing to be sealed. The observatants cast the traitor into the deepest darkest parts of the ghost zone as punishment

•Phantom leans all of this via Clockwork

•Thunderstorms are hard on both Phantom and Danny

•Phantom was poisoned in a ghostly assassination attempt

•Skulker was hired by said assassin at first and then by Vlad

•Phantom being the prince was kept a secret from the rest of the zone except for Frostbite in the far frozen

•Danny keeps the amulet tucked in his shirt to avoid his parents equipment from pin pointing it

•The Fenton parents don't know about either portal incident

I've got a Yugioh GW2 AU rattling around in my head that I might do something more with later but for now I'm getting slapped in the face with the realization that, while ancient Elona is a decent enough analogue for ancient Egypt & the Primeval Kings are a decent enough analogue for Pharaohs, for a Zorc Necrophades analogue, once again the sealed evil in a can causing literally everyone's problems is probably Abbadon.

But Nightfall happened way too historically recently. Which means for this to work Nightfall has to have been Abbadon's second attempt at breaking out, & someone much earlier had to defeat him the first time. Which means...Atem was basically proto-Kormir, but instead of ascending to godhood, he was forgotten entirely.

Notable beanpole Seto Kaiba is absolutely a shortstack asura and I find this objectively hilarious. He's definitely an Engineer, probably Holosmith (with a couple Mechanist builds in his other slots bc I bet he'd find jade tech absolutely fascinating). Graduated with honors from the College of Dynamics. He also absolutely gets hung up on his height and hates anyone who calls him short

This means Mokuba is also an asura, & probably either also an Engineer (likely Mechanist) or a Thief (likely Daredevil - little dude can move). He's studying in the College of Dynamics also but is way more chill about the height thing than his bro

Conversely Joey is definitely a norn. I was torn between Warrior & Guardian but I think I'm gonna come down on the side of Guardian. All 3 elite specs would work, & I could see him shifting between them as time goes on & he has Character Development

Tristan's probably a charr & I think he is a Warrior - dedicated banner support Berserker, has probably dipped into banner support Bladesworn. He & Joey have been best buds since forever & used to be quite the terror before they made friends with Yugi & calmed down. Joey was definitely an honorary 'bandmate & Tristan himself was probably either a scrapper or a gladium, former Blood Legion

Ryo Bakura is a sylvari Necromancer, while Yami Bakura was a human Thief - but Y.Bakura has really taken a shine to necromancy as just a vibe & consciously or not over time influenced Ryo to be a Scourge (he was a Reaper before, which he still pulls out on occasion). Ryo runs a healscourge build, much to Y.Bakura's frustration, and whenever Y.Bakura comes out, he switches to a condi dps build. In life, Y.Bakura was probably a Spectre & definitely a follower of Abbadon

Tea's hard to pin down besides human & follower of Dwayna. Druid feels right for some reason even though she's not really super nature-y enough to be a Ranger, but otherwise it gives the right Vibes

Duke's also hard to pin down but again based completely on Vibes I'm gonna go with human Thief (probably Daredevil, partially because of his speedy annoying ninja theme, & partially because of then I can make name puns). Probably a follower of Grenth but like...non-practicing

Yugi himself is also surprisingly hard to pin down beyond human follower of Lyssa. Mesmer feels fitting since his deck's whole vibe is based on magic & illusions, but Revenant also feels fitting because he's literally drawing on the power of an ancient spirit that still has a distinct personality & occasionally both possesses him & chats in his head with him. It could be argued that Yugi is a Revenant & that in life Atem was a Mesmer, since even Yugi says in canon that the whole bond with the Dark Magician is more his "other self's" thing, so I think that's what I'm gonna go with. Plus, Legendary Primeval Stance just sounds badass. In life, Atem was probably a Mirage & follower of Balthazar

5. Do you have any poly ships?

BOY DO I. Sonic/Sally/Amy and Sonic/Shadow/Sally for Sonic, I ship my oc Eve with @myseventhsin‘s Skara and Drakar, and the rest are p much all Yugioh. Yugioh... honestly, if I ship three characters separately, I like them together. The entire tangled web that’s conspireship is the big one, but I also like hikiariship and... whatever TKB/Yugi/Ryou is.

Like, it sort of just snuck in? Mmm, I think tendership a bit, I’m loosening to ‘bad’ ships as long as there’s a good story there. (Still not gonna go for big age gaps or incest, just the ones that can be seen as abusive, and of course I’ll always tag.) Eclipseship a bit too, partially because I’ve been reading conspirefic lately.

20. Talk about a ship you feel alone in shipping.

Hmm. Discounting tiny fandoms in which there’s like five people in them since that’s obvious, I don’t think there are any I really feel like I’m the only one? Danny/Valerie in the DP fandom is a bit frustrating since they had multiple episodes specifically about developing chemistry and a SUPER interesting conflict, but nobody really seems to make much art or fic about it.

Ooh, boy. Hmm. 

He is my Master still remains one of my all-time fave fics. Sonadow, ‘canon’ characters get put in a master/slave au and end up overthrowing a dictator while falling in love. Some of the best characterization and plot I’ve ever seen.

To the Heart, thiefshipping, canon divergence. Bakura redemption, also has GREAT characterization. Check out all their writing, it’s all good.

What if Ford had passed out from pushing himself too hard during the argument in the portal room, so he never fell through? Again, characterization is so SO spot on, which as you can probably tell is really key for me in fics. At one point Stan cuts off his mullet and throws it at a unicorn. It’s great, I’ve probably read it like ten times. Really great dialouge (I love how Stan, Ford, and Mcgucket play off each other) and a treat to read, especially for fans of the Stan twins. The official summary puts it best.“In which Ford’s attempt to survive entirely on caffeine and paranoia suffers some pitfalls, and things happen differently in 1982.“

Phantom of Truth, no ships, Danny Phantom. This fic’s been passed around the phandom for ages but it’s definitely worth the hype. Danny is captured by the GIW, and the person assigned to figure out how he ticks? One Madeline Fenton. Done pretty much entirely from Maddie’s POV. This one takes you on a ride. The sequel just completed recently, and it’s also well worth a look, as it deals with the trauma Danny has after the experiments conducted.

Rent your Blood, eclipseship. This sent shivers up my back, in a good way. A really good construction of one-sided eclipse from Ymalik’s POV, set during Battle City.

What is the definition of selfcest anyway. I mean there’s “pure” selfcest where you’re doing it with a total clone of yourself in appearance and personality. But is Yami/Yuugi selfcest since they have the same appearance (yes I know Yami has tsurime but the difference is small) but different personalities? Would a legendary Pokémon x its shiny form be selfcest? Is Pit/Dark Pit selfcest because DP is a clone of Pit even though they don’t look or act anything alike?

Idk about Yami and Yugi since I haven't watched Yugioh in a VERY long time

But yeah those would also be considered selfcest. Other examples being;

Croissant and and Timekeeper in Cookie Run (They're the same person from different universes)

Sans ships (Yknow, Sans from different AUs like Underfell and Underswap)

Len ships (Shipping different modules of Len together, like the Append and Punkish)

Basically its just shipping characters together that in one way or another are the same person
