Other Kinds of Writing than “Pantsing” improvisation or “plotting” Outlining
So, usually people set up a false binary, because why not Europe the world and make everything a binary... so I’ll give other options of how Writers write. (From my vast reading of author notes and interviews and pros and cons of each...) ‘cause whatever you are doing might not be working the best for you, so why not try other ways?
How the Story is written
Improvisation
This means just start somewhere and let your subconscious take over the plot. The downside is if the readers figure this out (which there are markers for it), then they can guess ahead of you by figuring out the best gut punch for the time. The markers for it--though people don’t believe me... are excessive set up at the beginning of scenes, larger plot holes and repetition of plot points which were not caught during editing. I can tell you wrote the story this way when you keep trying to remind yourself of previous plot points in the text. Slash those when you edit. Look specifically for plot holes because your subconscious is likely to change their mind about certain things and you need to track them separately. Famously, Jack Kerouac was known to do everything on impulse and thought it was the highest form of writing. He didn’t want a single word edited. Advantages: Being impulsive can lead to some crazy ideas which can feel new. This is particularly good for character impulsive decisions. Or characters who go by their gut. The characters also tend to be a lot more willful, but it also means you need to keep them occupied with interesting events. Suspense and Thriller tend to benefit for such writing. Writing is fast, editing is slow.
Disadvantages: OMG, the editing is a nightmare. You have to write down every plot point on a separate piece of paper and then make sure you didn’t screw it up. It’s terrible for High Concept plots and where things have to come together neatly in a certain order to make sense. (Which is why Agatha Christie didn’t use it for And There Was None and it tortured her for a year since she was used to improvising everything. She explicitly said she’d write it like everyone did it and then drop the final clues to make it click at the end, which is a sign of an improviser or at most a milestone type.)
(Strict) Outlining (Separate sheet of paper)
Means you write down the plot points one by one. Sometimes writers use a spreadsheet so they can visually see what is happening at the same time. She whose name shall not be spoken, does it this way.
Sometimes it’s just a list of bullet points. The markers for it: It tends to be much neater in plotting. Things interlock neatly. If you have a large complex plot, this is one of the ways to do it. The markers for this are more spotting the way the plot comes together and also often unfortunately marked by flat characters because the event chain was thought of without the characters.
Tolkien from everything I’ve read of the man, mostly outlined his stories. I have a flagging suspicion on one story--which is my favorite, which is a bit more impulse-written because it’s much more introspective and philosophical--two things that don’t do well with outlining. Most epics, for this reason in the modern sense are done with outlines. Some, but not all mysteries are outlined.
Advantages: Having a large interlocking plot suddenly come together can be satisfying. All those desperate parts seem like it’s great. The events come back together. Less editing is always good.
Disadvantages: Flat token characters who don’t have to be there and have cursory agency merely to move the plot along. For Newbies, the plot twists aren’t that interesting and don’t interweave properly with the character’s set ups or choices. The events, then, feel like what the writer wanted to happen, rather than what would have naturally happened. (You can fix this, though, by thinking through the character and how they change and be willing to rework your outline every time the character makes a different choice than expected--don’t fall in love with the event chain--fall in love with the character agency to make change.)
Also, if you screw up one event because of lack of research, it can send your entire book into a tailspin since the point of outlining is to neatly get everything to come together.
Don’t forget to put in some “God events” on purpose. You can throw people off and make them guess it wasn’t heavily plotted by putting a few seemingly random events at the beginning that click or are red herrings which lead to dead ends.
Versioning
NK Jemisin did this... It combines a bit of the outlining with improvisation, but it tries different versions of the same events. I have a suspicion that Patrick Rothfuss also does a bit of this with his claim he also outlines... but I’m not 100% sure on that. This might explain why the books take so long to write. (Versioning and outlining don’t marry too well for speed. If you’re backing up, and then having to rework the outline based on backing up, that’s a total slow down every time.) Markers: There are very few markers. Sometimes people may spot dead end plots, but if you did a good job editing, you took those out.
Advantages: If you edit well, then no one will notice the difference. And you are 100% sure this is the best sequence of events for this character. Also helps when the character is extra bit willful for reasons you can’t crack.
Disadvantages: Time--it takes so much more time to edit the draft. Plus there are versions you have to, by nature of the project throw out no one will get to see. (Wasted paper and energy). Plus it’s super hard to edit because you have to choose which of the many paths you will take and justify it to yourself before making final drafts. How do you know you’re not doing it because you’re enamored of the idea, but it’s not the best version after all? Bad for indecision.
One sentence at a time
Chuck Palahniuk does this. One sentence, perfects it, then moves to the next.
Advantages: You are sure that sentence is perfect and therefore, the whole book doesn’t need editing by the end of it.
Disadvantages: The amount of time it takes to write the book is slow. The wording might also feel pretentious or overworked.
Milestones
I used to play this game called “Mille Bornes” which means milestone. A milestone in a person’s like are things like they were born, married, died, had children, etc. So the idea of this is that you set out things that the character has to hit in order to get to the next set of events. In order for cause A, they need to hit this event first. Because the outline is looser, it still allows them to act within the framework with agency. Also because it’s not a huge outline one has to rework every time, it allows the writer to bounce around more because they already know what their character is going to do to react to said event.
Mercedes Lackey, Andre Norton, Anne McCaffrey all said they used this method. Markers: The plot doesn’t always have that neat clicking sound feel to it. But the character seems to hit important events in regular well-paced order despite that. You can trick the reader by spacing the events and word count for those events differently. Usually these people pick out the ending ahead of time to make sure it doesn’t wander too much. But the ending can also feel a bit flat if one isn’t careful. If you don’t trim your events, side plots can overtake your story where there is no meaning to the overarching plot. Slash those. Newbies who use this method often end up deviating hard from the main point and that’s how one catches them.
Advantages: Takes the advantages of outlining and makes it looser. Takes the advantages of Improvising and gives it structure. Disadvantages: Editing still is a chore. Pacing might also be harder if you aren’t able to predict word count well. People can get too married to their event structure without regard to how the character has changed. They can box the character in. For the reader it feels half directed, and half not. It’s a bit harder to predict, but if you run out of event chains, and the reader guesses your tastes, they will be able to plot the entire book ahead of you and then you’re dead in the water. So plot against your preferences and towards your preferences too. Flat characters for this method are your worst enemy. The events you don’t find exciting, you might skimp out on. Make sure to rework the “boring” events. And cut as many side plots as you possibly can.
Order the story is written:
Linear Forwards- Plot from beginning, start there until you get to the end. Most writers tend to rely on this method and can’t think otherwise. Mercedes Lackey in her notes, beyond making notes about scenes she’d like to include, Anne McCaffrey, Agatha Christie (from how she said she writes), Sir Conan Doyle (Who, BTW, outlined a fair bit, though not completely--you can feel a bit of his impulsiveness peak through), Jane Austen (from reports of her manuscripts etc) and the bulk to writers stick to this method.
Linear Backwards- Know the ending you need and figure out the events that led there--mysteries do this a fair bit. Also some Japanese authors play with this quite a bit.
Skip around- Usually better for thematic or tone plotting. Or High concept. When you want a certain feel for the book, sometimes it’s better to choose on themes and events, write them quickly, then edit. Editing is a pain when done this way because places and seasons can shift by accident. Watch for plot holes. Diana Gabaldon skips around by using a bit of research and then making a scene out of it, and then stringing it together later.
Mixed- Bounce around between the methods... super messy. Lots of editing. And also sometimes lots of skimping on the “boring” bits, which isn’t a good idea.
Try ALL of them in different types and orders. Find which one suits you best and which one you struggle the most with. Get good at the one you like, then try to defeat them all and find out how people react to the story being written that way and what you need to delete and edit per way you wrote it. If there are more ways people write books... then try those methods too.

birth chart reading for @thealluringtrinityvvitch
hello! welcome to your reading. I’m gonna give you a quick overview of what I’m going to analyze about your natal chart. feel free to ask me anything if something isn’t clear, of course. you’ll find out your dominants’ influence on your persona, your physical appearance, impression on others and the way you approach the world; your ego, identity, the real you; your reactions, your desires, inner emotions; your way of expressing your feelings, your mind and ideas; your desires and approach to love; your energy tank, instincts and temperament; in-depth analysis of each house with their rulers and analysis of heavy aspects; love life + soulmates/karmic partners interpretation; your relationship with your friends; your family life; your approach to career and work in general + possible jobs suggestion; your style, fashion sense analysis; life purpose and past life description; basic transits’ analysis to describe your current mood and, last but not least, your secret skills, how to make the most out of your soul and manifest what you desire based on your birth chart.
🦋 chart shape, dominants
your chart is a seesaw shape. your life focuses on different ideals and interests, often constrasting between each other. from one side, this gives you the ability to be adaptable and find solutions easily. on the other hand, you may struggle with balance; for example, you might find yourself dedicating your life to your relationships, neglecting your ego or viceversa. you need to learn how to harmonize these energies.
your dominant planets are the sun, the moon, and pluto. you are an individual full of vitality and energy, you have a very strong aura around you. you could seem intimidating, but deep down you're actually very empathetic and considerate of others. you're probably also very intuitive and spiritual as well.
your dominant sign is cancer. you seek emotional security in life. you need to feel grounded, you're most likely extremely cautious about the decisions you make. you're also very sensitive and compassionate of others, even though you could get slightly passive from time to time.
your dominant element is water. you're very intuitive and empathetic, you care a lot about others, and you may seem like a healer to people you know. in fact, you always try to help them if you can, almost in a therapeutic way. you're also very spiritual, and you're attracted to anything related to discovering your higher self and soul purpose.
🌍 ascendant in scorpio, 6° / 1st decan ruled by pluto
your scorpio rising makes you quite pessimistic; you see the world as a place full of dangers and malice, hence it’s hard for you to trust people. this may be translated through fear; you’re either scared of other people, and hence you look more vulnerable, or maybe you’re the one who prefers to look intimidating to avoid problems. I imagine you could seem quite unapproachable due to your harshly aspected mercury, you could come off as someone 'superior' and hence intimidating. yet, deep down, you're just very soft, like your pisces moon confirms. you can sense others’ emotions very well, so they have no secrets for you. you can perceive any single emotion in people just by looking in their eyes. while this is good, as you understand who’s best for you and you’re aware of the dangers you may face, scorpio risings tend to take advantage of this and be a little manipulative. this awareness of the world makes you look mysterious and secretive, as if you always know something more than others (and you probably do). pluto is also the planet of transformation, and you might experience a lot of rebirths throughout your life, both physically and emotionally. you might lose/have lost a big amount of weight, for example, which makes you look like a different person. or maybe, you like dying your hair of a different colour, giving you a different vibe. you wish you could be softer and show your inner emotions more easily, as scorpio is a water sign. the thing is, since it’s a fixed sign, it’s hard for you to be flexible and adapt to changes. when they happen, they’re usually out of your control as they’re literally life-changing. physically, I see you having a square face with high cheekbones. overall, your bones are very prominent and you’re naturally skinny. your eyes are extremely magnetic, and they could also be quite big and/or round. you might have either very pale skin, or just an olive skintone. sometimes, even a mix of both. your hair, eyebrows and lashes are very thick and dark too. you're at least of average height, and you could have something smaller on your face, like a small nose, eyes, lips etc.
scorpio ascendant square leo venus: this aspect makes you more sociable and prone to interact with people. you’re also most probably very attractive, people are naturally drawn to you. the downside of this placement is that you may suffer from self-esteem issues, as you really care about others’ impression of you. maybe you’re a little bit clumsy too. it’s easy for you to gain popularity, but be careful as it’s not always good. popularity brings scandals too, so people you see in your everyday life could possibly start gossips around you. the good thing about this aspect is that you emanate loyalty, so you usually attract and choose loyal and trust-worthy partners. this placement may also bring issues and problems in marriage with your future partner, even though I don’t think it’s your case. your venus is well-placed, so I don’t think there’ll be serious problems.
🌞 sun in virgo, 10° / 2nd decan ruled by mercury and saturn
this is the least intimidating virgo decan. you probably have a reputation for always being calm and elegant, as you try to avoid conflicts as much as possible. you're very smart and insightful, and you strive for perfection; in a room, you always want to be the best, whether it's fashion-wise, or maybe at work or school. you're a perfectionist, you can't bear being #2. to be perfect, you don't bring others down like aries, though. that's because you want to prove your power to yourself, not to others. it's like a way to increase you low self-esteem. in fact, it depends a lot on your achievements; if you don't meet your expectations, you start going through a hard time of insecurity and struggles. you find beauty in aesthetically-pleasant things, therefore you care a lot about hygiene and possibly about looks too. for example, your house probably looks very neat, and you chose your furniture wisely. you clean it everyday, you can't stand dust or any bad smells. you're also very organized, but you tend to base your life too much on a schedule. you love communicating, despite your scorpio rising and pisces moon that definitely make you more secretive than other virgo suns. your eyes talk for you, though. you're also very introspective, and you're fond of art and creativity in general. you're very critical, both of yourself and of others. you don't do it with malice, though, but you want to frequent people that try to be at their best all the time, just like you after all.
virgo sun opposite pisces moon: this placement creates conflicts inside of you, as you struggle to understand what you want and what you need. you most likely want to be very organized, precise and efficient. you strive for perfection and you're very hard-working, and you may also want to be some sort of leader, someone people look up to. yet, while your virgo sun is more practical, your pisces moon is way more emotional. even though you want to be productive, you tend to get distracted very easily, you have a fervid imagination and you usually get lost in your own thoughts. especially combined with your libra mercury, you tend to look at both sides of an argument. while this is a good placement that allows you to be fair, it also makes you even more indecisive. you also lack consistency; for example, a week you may religiously follow a diet, and then you just quit it the following week. you could as well feel as if your parents don't understand what you want in life, they may disagree with your ideas for example, and that is obviously frustrating to deal with. you may lack introspection, you always seek for the answer outside of yourself rather than inside. even booking this reading is a proof of this, so I'd suggest you to start understanding your feelings by yourself now that you're aware of this placement. since your moon is in pisces, this will naturally come to you; you can close your eyes, and then try to picture what you need in life, and ask yourself why. since you also seem quite practical due to your virgo energy, you can also write down your feelings in a journey, I'm sure it would be helpful.
virgo sun square gemini saturn: during the first years of your life, you were most likely very insecure. probably, your father or any kind of authoritative figure influenced your growth, making you self-conscious about your looks and abilities. they might've been really strict, or at least critical or overprotective of you. you feel the need to be perfect, or at least to meet others' expectations. you may also care too much about what others think about you. you may be a late bloomer, and you could face some hardships in your relationships, but this gets better with time. this probably manifests in your approach to friendships and relationships, making you quite awkward. don't worry, though; as you become more aware of yourself and your potential, saturn's lessons won't seem so harsh anymore.
virgo sun square sagittarius pluto: probably during your childhood you couldn't make your own decisions. you might have been highly influenced by someone in your family, probably your father, and hence now you feel the need to have everything under control. maybe too much. you despise authority, you may even quite rebellious. maybe your parents have tried to convince you following their religion, ideals etc., without giving you freedom, or maybe they interferred in your finances / career. or perhaps, they are overprotective and try to avoid to make you have experiences. I imagine that getting rid of your control issues, which are caused by this sense of not being in control of your life, may be the first step to finally heal your wound, which is somehow linked to the relationship with your friends and casual partners in your everyday life. start trusting others more, and don't be afraid of being 'fooled'. you're totally capable of understanding when someone is trying to hurt you, follow your intuition. even though it may be hard, even painful, it'll be the key to transform and overcome saturn's lessons to achieve your goals.
🌙 moon in pisces, 7° / 1st decan ruled by neptune
hands down my favourite moon sign! you're extremely empathetic and sensitive, you care a lot about others and you treat others' problems as if they were yours, you get totally immersed in them. you have quite a vivid imagination, you're able to idealize and picture anything you want. while this placement gives you an incredible amount of creativity, it can also make you uncomfortable. in fact, you may actually find yourself imagining every detail of every situation, even the worst ones. let's suppose you hear of a rape at the news; you literally start imagining the scene detail by detail, and it makes you extremely uncomfortable. actually, it literally ruins your mood, as it's as if you actually lived that scene. going back to the creativity matter, you have the soul of an artist. you have very enhanced emotions, and you're able to express them through artistic outlets. you could be amazing at writing poetry, books, art, music... also, your particular empathy of human's intellect can also make you an amazing psychologist or actress, as you're able to understand others' feelings and make them your own. you're extremely spiritual, and if you don't feel like that, you just have yet to have your spiritual awakening. you may be able to talk to spirits, for example, or perhaps you have very meaningful dreams. or maybe, you could literally predict the future through them. you're also most probably an avid daydreamer, you tend to get distracted easily because you're too busy thinking about random scenarios in your head. seriously, you could even make a movie out of them. you're also an hopeless romantic, and you dream of finding not just your spouse, but your literal soulmate. to make it simple, you want all of your daydreams to become reality.
pisces moon square gemini saturn: you most probably felt misunderstood during your childhood, as if everyone were cold with you. maybe your mother (or anyone in your family/childhood) was emotionally absent or even aggressive, hence you didn't grow up in a completely healthy environment. this issue causes you to question your worth; you may have low self-esteem, especially during your early years. your family may have big expectations of you, and hence you feel the need to meet them, making you even more pressured to be perfect. overall, your personality may resemble that of your parents a lot, even though it may feel challenging for you. you're constantly strict with yourself, challenging yourself to improve. especially with your moon being in libra, you always want to be at your best state, physically but also emotionally. you just want to radiate good vibes, even though you may feel limitated to share all of your true self due to saturn making harsh aspects.
pisces moon square sagittarius pluto: your emotions are so intense that they almost scare those around you. in fact, you're prone to accentuated mood swings; when you're happy, you start smiling and laughing joyfully. when you're sad, you're the type to cry, scream, even throw up in some cases. that's how far you go with your emotions. maybe, you also feel repressed to express your feelings exactly for this reason. you probably also have a conservative/possessive mother (or just any member of your family), with whom you don't feel at ease expressing your emotions. or maybe, your mother was absent throughout your life. on the other hand, you can understand others' feelings, but be careful not to use it to manipulate others. you could also be very paranoid, and might develop addictions and anxiety disorders, especially with your pisces moon. if you don't feel comfortable speaking to someone you know and there's something you need to talk about, I'd suggest you to do it with a therapist. don't be afraid to face your emotions, you'll only be able to control them if you get know them.
🗣 mercury in libra, 2° / 1st decan ruled by venus
you're quite diplomatic! you always try to be nice and gentle with your words, you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. your tone of voice is extremely soft, sometimes it could even be hard to understand what you say, as you could naturally have a low voice. you're extremely balanced, you have amazing problem-solving skills as you're able to see both side of an argument. it's natural for you to understand what's right and what isn't, and most of the times you're actually right. when you're with someone you're not really close to, you could even be the accommodating type who allows others to speak over your voice, or maybe you let others speak first as a gesture of kindness. I feel like with your virgo sun you have very strong opinions, and you're actually particularly proud of them. yet, you may struggle to communicate them with kindness. you could often get angry if someone tries to prove you wrong. aside from that, you try to be very elegant and formal when you speak. you're probably not fond of cursing, or at least you try to appear as mannered as possible with people you're not comfortable around. last but not least, you're such a charismatic, smooth talker that you result very persuasive. you're able to trick people with your words, which appear very diplomatic and calm.
libra mercury square sagittarius mars: this placement makes you slightly more aggressive with your words. in fact, it makes you look more assertive and almost bossy. you could often attack people with words when you get angry, and you can get quite provocative too, even though it may happen in a more passive way. you still have your libra mercury’s elegance and diplomacy in you, after all. even though you’re quite controversial for the way you speak, you’re still very sensitive to others’ words. your self-esteem tends to find its base mostly on others’ opinion about you, and you always look for reassurance from your loved ones. to deal with this hard aspect, you need to think before you speak. if you have troubles understanding others’ feelings, just think about how you’d love to be treated. patience will just come naturally to you.
libra mercury square cancer jupiter: this placement emphasizes your intellect. your mind is so broad that you can come up with different theories and philosphies, making you a sort of genius. you're probably good at memorizing things, and you could even have a photographic memory. yet, with this aspect, you may have troubles being consistent with your ideas. you may overestimate your needs and thoughts; for example, you may promise yourself to get all As in maths, then you get tired and bored and you end up getting Cs. same goes for your handwriting, for example: you may start writing in the best way possible, then you get lazy and end up writing in a sloppy way just to take notes. you also overthink a lot, and that causes you self-esteem issues. on the other hand, you're very open-minded and objective, as you look at the big picture. you'd do very well as a journalist, for example, or perhaps also as a judge of any kind. you may also be naturally skilled at foreign languages, you can mimic accents pretty well. you're probably also very poetic and / or wise, you're like a teacher for your friends.
❤️ venus in leo, 7° / 1st decan ruled by the sun
with leo venus you're very picky, as you have high expectations for your future partner. you always try to be at your best state, and you want those who surround you to be perfect too. it's hard for you to fall for someone, as you take everything in consideration: personality, physical appearance, fashion sense... it may look like it is too much, but once you find the right one that truly satisfies your standards, you're in for a long ride. you'll want to travel, live your life in the best way possible with the person you love. you look at them as if they were the brighest star in the sky, and you want to be seen like this as well. you may even be a bit clingy, but your partner needs to be aware of that. they can't repress your need for affection. you see love as a way to revive your inner child, you feel younger when you're in love. even though you want someone fun and outgoing, you also need someone ambitious, hard-working and generally serious when it comes to committing. there's no room in your life for flaky people.
leo venus opposite aquarius neptune: you probably dream of a love like those you hear about in fairytales; you're not only looking for a partner, you literally want a soulmate, who's willing to give their all to you. you find yourself daydreaming often about love, and it may also be your source of inspiration for creativity and art in general. probably, you may idealize people too much; that is, you may create a version of others that only exists in your head. hence, once you get to know someone better, they turn out to be the exact opposite of what you thought. this causes you to be sort of naive when it comes to relationships, so pay extra attention to this problem now that you're aware of it.
☄️ mars in sagittarius, 27° / 3rd decan ruled by jupiter and the sun
you are driven by a strong sense of justice that makes you want to discover the truth. you hate lies of any kind, you want sincerity from those around you and you're the first to be constantly honest. you value your freedom a lot, your life motto is most likely 'live and let live'. you think everyone should live their lives by their own standards, without feeling afraid of being judged or criticized. you're a very pure and genuine person, you hardly ever judge a book by its cover, and you're also extremely open-minded. you're thirsty for knowledge of any kind, you're always up to learn something new. you may also be interested in foreign languages and cultures, as well as philosophy, literature... anything that can teach you something new about the world. you may be quite impulsive, and when you get angry you tend to be very blunt. you may say things that hurt others, as you're brutally honest, even though that wasn't your intention. you may also appear as flaky, since you don't like feeling tied to something or someone. you could often change your favourite colour, food, singer... you despise boredom, and your need for freshness may also manifest in your relationships. luckily, since your venus is in leo I don't think it's your case, and you may actually be very loyal.
🏡 houses
your 1st house is in scorpio. you fulfill your ego when you deal with intense situations that satifsfy your needs. that is, you find strenght in getting out of your comfort-zone. even though you may be afraid of it. you’re an enigma: you know everything about others, but others know nothing about you. it’s your way to protect yourself from eventual enemies, as you’re prone to have a few of them throughout your life. the ruler of the 1st is in the 2nd house: your existence revolves around discovering your value, worth and finances in general. your self-esteem is based on your physical appearance and on your achievements. you may have this mentality that you can’t take care of yourself if you don’t have enough money. you could also earn money through your appearance.
your 2nd house is in sagittarius, with also pluto, mars and chiron sitting there. you tend to overindulge in 2nd house matters, hence you may spend too much money, you could overeat, or even overestimate your own skills. especially since chiron is here, your deepest wound may be related to the fact that you have an exaggerated vision of yourself. maybe, you’re too confident, or perhaps it’s the opposite. that is, you underestimate your worth way too much. pluto here points out that you could often experience sudden changes regarding money. since you spend so much, you may find yourself lacking money from time to time, therefore be careful to how you spend them. in addition, chiron is also here: your deepest insecurity is your appearance, your self-confidence. it may be that when you were younger, you used to struggle a lot with your appearance. you could have been bullied, or perhaps you could have suffered from an eating disorder. luckily, this placement can get better. in fact, you can gain wisdom from this wound of yours; you can heal others who have self-worth issues once you start loving yourself. you may also have troubles with money, it could be that you may be too dependant from them, or you struggle to save or even earn them. you may even come from a poor family. last but not least, mars in this house can possibly make you a bit materialistic. while you're very determined and hard-working, you could do things only to receive something afterwards. that is, suppose your mom asks you to clean the house; you'd probably do it only for money, for example. you don't like doing things for free, you always want to gain something from them. the ruler of the 2nd house is in the 9th house: you may earn money through foreign languages, you could be particularly skilled at them. you may also earn money abroad or thanks to foreigners or perhaps even thanks to teaching. you could also invest in trips, books, courses to learn something, etc.
your 3rd house is in capricorn, with also neptune placed in this house. you enjoy listing and talking about your duties and goals. you’re the type to write down your tasks in your agenda, e.g. tidying up your room, feeding your plants etc. the problem with this placement is that you may struggle to take action, and procrastinate. or maybe, you could do the opposite and overwork yourself. no inbetween. also, when you were a child you probably started speaking later than other kids, or you speak so fast that you end up stuttering. you may also struggle to speak your mind, but I don't think it's your case considering all the mars energy revolving around your mercury. the ruler of the 3rd house is in the 8th: you need partners and friends to whom you can talk freely about your interests and opinion, without being judged. also, you may find yourself thinking often about taboo topics: the occult, sex, astrology, tarots... anything of this kind. actually, you may be able to read birth charts or cards yourself, or at least you have the potential to be good at it considering your prominent water dominance, especially with your pisces moon.
your 4th house is in aquarius. when you were young, you probably didn’t feel at ease with yourself. you might have been the outcast, that one kid that stood out in the daycare. you probably didn’t have many friends either, but you weren’t that sad about it. you enjoyed playing, drawing and watching your favorite cartoons alone. with the moon also placed in this house, you find emotional comfort and security in your home, in your parents and in just family in general. you used to be very attracted to arts and fantasy when you were a kid, and you kept this love with you while growing up. maybe, you were the type of child to lie to your parents. with the ruler of the 4th house in the 4th, you probably feel comfortable and secure in your home enviroment, as your moon in the 4th also confirms. you can vent your worries to your family members. at first, you probably didn’t feel very close to your parents though. it’s a kind of affection and emotional security that you developed while growing up.
your 5th house is in pisces. you have a variety of talents and creativity, but that may possibly be covered from you at first. you’d do very well at stuff that involves art and drawing. in love, you’re attracted to artsy people; if they’re into art, singing, dancing etc. they’re your ideal of soulmate. you may be very fond of children, and you wish to have at least one in the future. the ruler of the 5th house is in the 3rd house: your hobbies probably involve 3rd house matters. you probably love the internet and social media, you could spend most of your free time on it. you may also love communication of any sort, hence you could be into reading, writing, learning new languages, singing, etc. you may also keep a diary and / or an agenda, and you could also be into drawing.
your 6th house is in aries. you work hard to be the number #1 in what you care about, especially if your goals involve school, work, health etc. your days are usually quite busy, and you tend to overwork yourself. with the ruler of the 6th house being in the 2nd house, your daily routine involves finances and material things. you could make money easily through your job and hard work. also, this placement indicates that you could make money from health-related matters; hence, you could for example become a nurse, a doctor... you could also be a therapist, a nutritionist, a personal trainer, even a vet. in fact, you could also make money from working with animals. overall, your future job will most likely involve helping people in some way, even in a more metaphorical sense.
your 7th house is in taurus. in a marriage you seek security, both emotional and financial. you want a loyal partner that would never do anything to hurt you, and that has a wealthy job as well. intimacy and trust also matter a lot for you in a long-term relationship. you may attract very conventionally beautiful partners, and they'll most likely be homebodies. that is, you don't attract very sociable people, or at least you don't hang out with people that attend clubs, parties, etc. frequently. possibly, you may often attract jealous, possessive people too, so beware of that. with the ruler of the 7th in the 9th, you look for a partner that is literally your soulmate. someone you can experience love at first sight with, and that can understand you just by looking at your eyes. basically, the spouse of your dreams, and that would dedicate their heart only to you. you could also marry someone foreign, that comes from a different culture from yours. they could also worship a different god from you, or at least they're able to speak more than one language. your future spouse will also be very wise and mature, but also quite outgoing and spontaneous.
your 8th house is in gemini. you may frequently find yourself thinking and studying occult/taboo topics, such as paranormal events, thrillers, tarots, astrology etc. you’re interested in finding out the truth, not only among your peers but in the whole world. you have a desire that all the malice that is hiding behind the government etc. gets exposed, even though you may be so interested in them that you could get used to it and end up overlooking them. saturn also sitting in this house makes thing a little complicated. in fact, you could feel restricted from having deep emotional bonds with others, especially since you also have a prominent scorpio energy in your chart. you could have trust issues, you hardly ever talk about yourself. you struggle to be yourself when being intimate with someone, for example you may have little or no sex drive at all. the 8th house is also about death, so this placement could possibly even indicate that you're going to have a painful death. last but not least, saturn in the 8th house also indicates that someone authoritative in your life, most likely your father, may be absent, physically or even emotionally. the ruler of the 8th house is in the 11th house: you could have very spiritual friends, perhaps they're also interested in horror, the occult, etc. your friends could also be a bit possessive, bossy or even manipulative sometimes. in the best case, your friends are actually your soulmates, you've already met them in some past life of yours. since the 11th house is also about goals, you could also aspire to come in touch with your darker, inner self for example, you aspire to become very spiritual.
your 9th house is in cancer, with also jupiter and venus placed there. someone close, important and intimate with you may teach you the biggest lessons in your life. you could also live abroad with your family, or become a teacher in a daycare/primary school. jupiter here indicates that you have a knack for philosophy, and you may be interested in foreign culture, music, fashion etc. venus in this house is another sign that indicates that you'll marry someone foreign, of a different nationality from yours. they could also be able to speak more languages, and overall I feel like you may be more attracted to foreigners rather than people from your birth country. in the worst case, you may follow for unavailable people; that is, you could either like already taken people, or maybe people that are physically absent, like foreigners for example. with the ruler of the 9th house being in the 4th, you may live abroad with your family, or at least someone in your home environment can speak different languages. there may also be teachers in your family, and most of your values and philosophies were taught to you by your parents.
your 10th house is in leo. you want to be recognized and stand out. you may want to be a celebrity, or at least you want to be the one people look up to in your work place. you’d rather have a job where you can handle your work yourself, rather than having a boss. in fact, your sun in this house makes you extremely resolute and motivated to achieve your goals and be independent. you may not be much interested in love, and if you are, you don't overlook career either. having a stable and successful future that makes you happy is the key for happiness in your life. with the ruler of the 10th house being in the 10th house, you may be known for your successful career, maybe you may actually get popular easily. your identity revolves around finding a stable job and having a great income. also, this is a beneficial placement for people that want to be recognized/famous, as you naturally have the celebrity vibe and charisma to you.
your 11th house is in virgo. this placement, together with your heavy scorpio influence, makes you very picky with friends. you may frequent and feel happy with different people, but you only call friends a few of them. you also have friends with similiar ideals and approach to yours, hence it’s easy for you to get along as you see eye to eye. you could also have quite introverted friends, they're most likely very similiar to you, they're not your opposite. they could be a bit too practical, but also very caring and loyal. the ruler of the 11th house is in the 11th house. that’s an extremely powerful placement! you have the ruler of the house of fame and goals in its natural place. I know I’ve already mentioned this above, but you’d definitely do well as a celebrity. this placement, in fact, is commong among some of the most famous, richest celebrities out there, like johnny depp, angelina jolie, kylie jenner, etc. mercury here also indicates that you could get famous through your words, your ideas, and again you could write, sing or talk about stuff that can make you achieve fame. obviously, this doesn’t mean that it’s exactly your fate! the choice is still up to you, but your chart indicates that you’d definitely do well in the spotlight, even though I feel like you probably prefer staying in your comfort-zone with your scorpio rising.
your 12th house is in libra. you find beauty in neptunian topics, such as astrology, spirituality, dreams, art etc. you may actually be quite skilled at things that involve beauty and aesthetics. you may also be afraid of being judged, especially for your interests and/or physical appearance. you could often idealize the idea of love and partners; that is, you could daydream of marrying the perfect, royal spouse that would always be by your side. yet, you could often find yourself daydreaming so much that you actually see people as what they're not. that is, they turn out to be different from what you thought. . your 12th house’s ruler is in the 8th house: getting in touch with your hidden, subconscious and higher self will be crucial to help you grow up and gain more awareness of yourself. you may be interested in topics like astrology, psychology etc. most likely to get to know yourself, but your chart points out that you could easily turn these hobbies into a job!
❤️ love life, soulmates
in love, you attract taurus, libra, pisces, sagittarius, leo, cancer. your future spouse is probably going to have prominent sagittarius/9th house placements, as well as some leo/sun/5th house dominance too. they may be foreign, or at least from a different culture/religion from yours, and they’ll be as open-minded as you. they’ll also be very intelligent and philosophical. you may meet them at work, and they’ll be a big boost for your self-esteem and reputation. you could also meet them during a short trip, hence on a bus, on a train etc. your children are probably going to have prominent pisces placements, or at least they’ll have pisces/water traits: they’ll be spiritual, calm, artistic and sleepy, yet they may also develop a rebel/emo attitude during their teenage years.
👶🏻 family life
your mother is probably a very caring person that knows how to stand up for herself when she has to, but she may struggle to do that. in fact, she looks very emotionally detached and moody. she also has very strong beliefs that you inherited from her. your father is a bit softer and more romantic, he knows how to have fun and used to play a lot with you when you were a child. if you have siblings, they probably have prominent capricorn/aries/scorpio placements in their chart. you may fight a lot with them, and you may be quite possessive of each other. in the worst case, your mother might have had a miscarriage, or maybe they were stillborn.
📊 career
honestly, your chart indicates that you could do well at a variety of jobs thanks to your virgo energy! you may find yourself being interested in teaching and learning, you would make an amazing teacher or even professor in university. you could also become a successful writer, as your mercury sharing the same sign as your sun shows that you're able to fully convey your thoughts and feelings in your speech in a clear and correct way thanks to your virgo dominance. you may also do well as a therapist or even as a nurse or doctor, you seem like the type of person that is good at impacting others with your words. with your virgo energy, you can probably help others thanks to your skills.
👚 fashion sense, style analysis
keyword for your wardrobe: black. every leo venus loves black, it's probably my favorite love story. after all, it's such a versatile color! it can be both badass and classy, how can I blame you. you may also have a thing for anything that looks luxury and high quality; you probably enjoy wearing designer brands, especially in your belts and bags. you may also like wearing fitted clothes, even just simple skinny jeans. aside from black, you could as well use white and bold colours like gold, hot pink etc. also, you may as well be into pastel colors, and you could like following fashion trends.
👁 past life, life purpose
in your past life, the focus was on yourself. maybe, you had troubles with self-esteem and identity in general. you had to work hard, but you eventually managed to achieve money and confidence by yourself. hence, this lifetime your focus will be on the bonds you create with others. even though at first you might feel almost scared of the idea of intimacy, especially having saturn in the 8th house, but this lifetime you're here to develop this matter. this placement also indicates that you're a very spiritual person, and this lifetime your purpose is discovering who you are and why you're here. basically, you're on the right path since you decided to book a birth chart reading.
🤔 major transits analysis / october 18th
transit venus is currently opposite your natal pisces moon; you could be feeling very affectionate lately, you may be craving a relationship and peace in your day-to-day life. with transit mercury in your 12th house, you may also feel a bit tired and / or stressed, you probably prefer spending time by yourself daydreaming instead of going out and socializing lately. also, the north node is your 8th house; you may come across unexpected or sudden issues regarding financial matters, but that will help you understand how to deal with and earn more money. it could be painful and stressful at first, but it'll just make you improve.
🧿 manifest what you want, secret skills
with your water dominance, you probably have a 6th sense. you’re able to manifest what you want if you subconsciously predict it, even though it may be hard. you’d have to get in touch with your higher self to do so, and hence I would suggest you to light up some candles and meditate for a bit before manifesting, in this way it will be way more effective. you may manifest something while daydreaming, for example. or perhaps, you can also try listening to your own affirmations while you sleep, as you won’t be consciously aware of that. it’s probably the most effective way.
this is the end! thank you again for booking a reading, hope it resonated :)

Egg Drop Dead - Vivien Chien
In brief: Lana’s excited to work her first catering event for Donna Feng, Asia Village’s owner! But then Donna’s nanny’s found dead during the party and suspicion turns to Donna…. Fifth in a series.
Thoughts: This is another series where I go in knowing what to expect and get exactly what I ordered. (Like a good restaurant, really.) I laughed, I gasped, I groaned at Lana’s more … Lana moments, I flipped pages, and I enjoyed myself the whole way through. The downside of such consistency is that some of the unpredictability that helps me really love a book disappears but whatcha gonna do? I asked for fun and fluff and I got it.
I really like that Chien’s still coming up with fresh mysteries that widen the “world” of Chinese-American Cleveland, that deepen the characters, that bring up aspects of Chinese culture that either get lost in other stories or treated more negatively. This one has a lot of stuff about Donna’s past in it, for instance, and I enjoyed seeing a side of her that wasn’t the elegant, reserved matron. I also like that the mysteries never hinge on the characters being Chinese.
And the mystery’s still strong too—some good red herrings, some great raised stakes, at least one “wait, what, no!” moment, and an exciting climax! Lana’s progressed in her sleuthing abilities and common sense, even if sometimes that’s still a bit lacking, and I’m still enjoying that Chien’s finding interesting ways to get Lana clues and bringing social media into the mix. And that Lana’s not constantly butting heads with her cop boyfriend anymore.
What I’m less enthused about is some of the one- or two-note bit characters, because I’d like to see them more fleshed out or at least less archetypal. I’m still not totally sure why her grandma’s there since she’s yet to really do much, and her mom’s complaints about Lana’s life choices are getting old. But it’s not like other cozies I’ve read haven’t had that problem too, so I’m going to keep hoping they’ll be fleshed out later, the way Donna was in this one.
But that’s not something I’m really grumpy about, just like I’m not grumpy that Chien writes a good, entertaining story and nothing more. After all, I tore through this in a matter of days and it was exactly the sort of fun I like when I don’t want to think about what I’m reading so much! As always, I’m interested in seeing where Chien takes Lana next, which characters are going to be in the spotlight, and whether that private eye returns….
To bear in mind: Genre-typical drama and violence, a couple entitled dudes, and some negative body talk. Also you might get hungry but that’s a standard warning for this series.
6.5/10

Title: Witchmark Author: C.L. Polk First Published: 2018 Genre: fiction, fantasy, romance, queer lit Content Warning: slavery, war, oppression, suicide, forced marriage, death, implied rape, medical experimentation, trauma, torture, body horror, classism, drug/alcohol use, implied homophobia
So… this was an interesting read. It would be unfair to say that it’s like Sherlock Holmes, but in a lot of ways, it read as a loose (emphasis on that word) adaptation that’s gayer, tweer, and Edwardian. I loved how reminiscent the setting was of the Edwardian era (and the First World War). I also appreciated Polk’s approach to fantasy, which was subtle and discreet. I realize that’s an unusual thing to praise, especially since the novel is supposed to be in the fantasy genre, but it worked remarkably well.
Witchmark takes place in a magical world that appreciates magic… only if you’re among the elite. If you have magic powers and are not part of that small group though, you’re in a more precarious situation that will likely end up with you in an asylum. The main character, Miles, is in that exact position; trying to pass as an unassuming psychiatrist and war veteran. Since it’s told from a limited first-person perspective, that paranoia of being found out and a desperate need for subtlety worked to affirm the rules of this fantasy world.
It was hard not to read some aspects of this book as a commentary of sorts on mental health (trauma, specifically). I don’t know if this was the intent or not, but I had mixed feelings about the way this was approached. This book also had a lot of underlying social commentaries that I didn’t expect, reflecting much of the issues that people grappled with during the Victorian and Edwardian eras. I think the exception is the treatment of women, with quite a few female characters holding powerful roles that no one questions because of their gender. The only downside of these discourses is there isn’t much depth to them.
I would have enjoyed this book a lot more if the pacing was handled better. It was slow—sometimes unbearably so—with most of the action taking place towards the end. While Polk draws tropes from the mystery genre, it didn’t have the same buildup and suspense. In other words, once the investigations came to an end, I didn’t feel all that compelled by the results. I wasn’t given the time to savor them, because there were other genre tropes at play. Which leads me to tropes in the romance genre. Now that worked well. For those who like slow burn romances, you’re in for a treat. Your gays don’t die either, so there’s a big bonus.

Some Canon Stuff & Observations About Komaeda From Island Mode
--Because I have this list, and now you do too.
General:
Once he’s decided to spend time with somebody, he’s not very picky about what they do together. That said, he seems to prefer activities that can keep him engaged with that person, as opposed to singular activities, even ones he usually enjoys, like reading. He’s also not quite as fond of movies and the like, again because you’re engaging with something else and not each other.
Whenever he talks about something being dangerous, he’s considerably more concerned about anyone else who may be hurt as a result over himself. This is probably due to his bad luck targeting his loved ones before it targets him. Plus, you know, he’s a good boy. He cares.
He kind of jokes around a lot in a non life-and-death situation. At least, with Hajime. It’s heartwarming. I love his playful side.
He seems to struggle with eating around other people. This may be due to a lack of appetite as is a symptom of his illness, but he could also be self conscious, or nervous about his luck interfering somehow. He does talk about the many dangers of various foods throughout his island mode time.
A lot of the fear he expresses tends to be very...specific. He’s not afraid of the thing, he’s afraid of this, this and this that could result from the thing going horribly wrong in the most zany of ways.
He won’t waste the term “good luck” on silly, insignificant things. Since it offsets all the bad in his life, presumably he wants it to be special.
He doesn’t like unfulfilling conclusions. They’re wishy-washy, and leave him uncertain about what’s to come. This makes a lot of sense - the only consistency in his life is that good luck will follow bad, and vice versa. If he can’t tell which is which, he’ll just be blindsided.
He is capable of recognising hope in himself, and what it takes to find that is one-on-one human interaction, and feeling like someone actually wants to be with him. Of course, this isn’t only a good thing. The downside is that, if there’s hope within him, then erasing himself means erasing his hope. It makes his own life precious, too. (I’m not crying, you are.)
Park:
He’s more comfortable in open areas, since it’s easier to spot potential hazards.
He gets sick of the same scenery day in, day out pretty quickly.
He seems to believe in hell. Or at least, entertain the notion. Oh, dear.
Despite calling zombies and ghosts “unrealistic” (re: move theatre) he does appear to believe in curses, and some form of magic to some degree. The line there isn’t really explored.
For all his talk about how he wants something to happen, he acts pretty darn happy with the relaxing environment the island provides. He even says he wishes it could last forever.
He kind of likes the statue in Jabberwock Park that exists when they arrive.
Beach:
Just like everything else in life, ocean = danger.
He likes fishing, mostly because it’s not very dangerous and there’s still potential for something amazing to happen.
He really does not like running.
He kind of wishes he could have darker skin.
His skin is very sensitive and he doesn’t enjoy direct sunlight.
He likes building sandcastles.
He remarks that the game Capture The Flag “takes me back”. Perhaps he used to play as a kid?
Library:
Everywhere else, if you make noises about not enjoying yourself or wanting to leave, Ko agrees that you can, though usually reluctantly. In the library, however, he just suggests you go your separate ways. Nobody separates the boy from his books, I guess.
As mentioned way above, he prefers activities with people that keep them both engaged. However, in the library, apparently that too goes out the window because he has all the self control of a kid in a candy store around those books.
“There’s nothing better than having too many books,” apparently.
Even Ko didn’t think they’d need to survive badly enough that they’d have to burn the books. He’s thought of curses and divine intervention, but burning down a library is too horrifying, I guess.
When he stays put and reads, he isn’t affected by his luck so much, making it the most peaceful way to pass time.
Being in a quiet place with someone he likes makes him nervous.
Studying isn’t his favourite thing to do, but he’ll enjoy it more with a studdy buddy. (That’s actually adorable, thanks, I hate it.)
During hide and seek, nobody ever finds him until the very end, which actually makes him depressed.
D o n ‘ t i n s u l t t h e l i b r a r y a r o u n d t h e b o y .
Movie Theater:
He doesn’t like eating during movies. He finds it distracting, and would rather focus on the screen.
He likes the idea of filming memories and watching them back later. He even states that he’d like to have some of the security footage as a souvenir.
He likes the front row for immersion, but gets sore easily while watching movies. In particular, he tends to strain his back and neck.
He canonically falls asleep during boring movies. I can’t even with this guy.
As much as he likes feeling relaxed, situations that are relaxing make him nervous. Presumably because he’s waiting for something bad to strike.
Types of movies he does not like: realistic horror, “panicky” movies, anything that reflects his own life and experiences.
Types of movies he does like: mysteries of course, unrealistic horror and movies with themes he’ll almost certainly never have to deal with firsthand.
Amusement Park:
The carousel is his favourite ride, because it’s relaxing and not dangerous.
“This is Nezumi Castle after all, so we need to ride the mouse first!” - Yep, he’s That Guy.
Unsurprisingly, rollercoasters are a strong contender for least favourite.
Sometimes he laughs when he’s surprised though it doesn’t mean he’s having fun, and he’s aware of it enough to acknowledge it.
He doesn’t like haunted houses and presumably other things designed solely to scare. He admits to feeling fear in his daily life, so why would he then go seek out more, I suppose.
He has been to an amusement park only once with his parents, but he’s always been keen to go back. He’s very much more like an excited little kid in this location, so this is probably a big thing for him. Perhaps he wants to revisit one of the few good memories he has as a child.
He gets very upset if you suggest leaving. He’s like a kicked puppy. Haji, don’t be mean.
Military Base:
Unsurprisingly, he is a ball of STRESS here. Throughout all three possible sets of dialogue - so 9 potential options - he has only one Best Option in the military base, and even that leads to him pulling a typical Nagito, and getting worried over some very specific possibilities.
Still, he does kind of want to explore - but even upon admitting that, will concede that you’re basically asking for trouble by sticking around the base.
He considers the warship the least dangerous thing to ride. However, he still worries about it, and is very specifically afraid of being stuck in the ship’s cabin with no way out. Actually the “no way out” theme is a recurring thing for him, come to think of it. And he does admit to preferring open spaces. I wonder if there’s a little claustrophobia in him?
DON’T TAKE HIM NEAR THE FIGHTER JET. A lot of fans have speculated about his fear of flying, but personally I take it as canon. And it’s no wonder, really, when you look at his life.
When asked if he wants to look for fuel, definitely more safe than tanks or warships, he is more concerned it might catch fire than anything. Fire is a common danger, and he’s probably faced it many, many times.
He doesn’t like the idea of actively looking for weapons. It seems even Nagito’s above the outright stupidity of mixing his luck with things that are designed to be dangerous - you-know-what notwithstanding, of course. That was a special circumstance.
Shot Through The Heart:
When spending time with another person, he positively agonizes over what to say to them, to make their time with him more enjoyable.
He mentions that he wouldn’t even mind if Hajime verbally abused him, probably as long as he was having fun doing it.
He seems relieved when Hajime tries to take that pressure off him. He really does like the idea of being able to be quiet for a while and not feeling like he has to constantly contribute.
He takes being insulted to his face well, and shuts right up, for the most part. Even so, let’s not.

birth chart reading for @falsepigeon
hello! welcome to your reading.
🦋 chart shape, dominants
your chart is a seesaw shape. your life focuses on different ideals and interests, often constrasting between each other. from one side, this gives you the ability to be adaptable and find solutions easily. on the other hand, you may struggle with balance; for example, you might find yourself dedicating your life to your relationships, neglecting your ego or viceversa. you need to learn how to harmonize these energies.
your dominant planets are mercury, uranus and pluto. you're an extremely intelligent and creative person with amazing problem-solving skills. you're very talkative and witty, and also extremely charismatic too. it's hard not to listen to you. you may experience lots of transformations in your life, you may make major changes to your lifestyle, but they'll help you gain more confidence and happiness to live more peacefully.
your dominant sign is gemini. you are a very intelligent individual, you are thirsty for knowledge and you also have great communication skills. you have a witty sense of humor, you're able to make everyone feel at ease with your sympathy. people may say you're two-faced, but in reality you just act in the most appropriate way based on the situation you're in. you despise boredom, you're very experimental in your life, but others may mistake this trait for flakiness.
your dominant element is air. in your life, you adore seeking for knowledge of any kind. you may be interested in studying different subjects, from those you study at school like science, maths, literature etc. to more unconventional ones, such as astrology, psychology, criminology and so on. you enjoy interacting with people; even if you’re not that sociable, you’ll still be interested in their point of view and their ideals, as you see it as a way to expand your own mind. you’re also interested in vintage, and you may have a retro aesthetic or just like history in general.
🌎 ascendant in scorpio, 13° / 2nd decan ruled by pluto and neptune
your scorpio rising makes you quite pessimistic; you see the world as a place full of dangers and malice, hence it’s hard for you to trust people. this may be translated through fear; you’re either scared of other people, and hence you look more vulnerable, or maybe you’re the one who prefers to look intimidating to avoid problems. I don’t think you look unapproachable, though. there are other placements in your chart that say the opposite, so I imagine you project an image of yourself that makes you look quite naive. you can sense others’ emotions very well, so they have no secrets for you. you can perceive any single emotion in people just by looking in their eyes. while this is good, as you understand who’s best for you and you’re aware of the dangers you may face, scorpio risings tend to take advantage of this and be a little manipulative. this awareness of the world makes you look mysterious and secretive, as if you always know something more than others (and you probably do). pluto is also the planet of transformation, and you might experience a lot of rebirths throughout your life, both physically and emotionally. you might lose/have lost a big amount of weight, for example, which makes you look like a different person. or maybe, you like dying your hair of a different colour, giving you a different vibe. you wish you could be softer and show your inner emotions more easily, as scorpio is a water sign. the thing is, since it’s a fixed sign, it’s hard for you to be flexible and adapt to changes. when they happen, they’re usually out of your control as they’re literally life-changing. physically, I see you having a square face with high cheekbones. overall, your bones are very prominent and you’re naturally skinny. your eyes are extremely magnetic, and they could also be quite big and/or round. you might have either very pale skin, or just an olive skintone. sometimes, even a mix of both. your hair, eyebrows and lashes are very thick and dark too. you're at least of average height, and you could have something smaller on your face, like a small nose, eyes, lips etc. you could also have long legs, arms and fingers.
scorpio ascendant opposite taurus venus: this aspect makes you more sociable and prone to interact with people. you’re also most probably very attractive, people are naturally drawn to you. the downside of this placement is that you may suffer from self-esteem issues, as you really care about others’ impression of you. maybe you’re a little bit clumsy too. it’s easy for you to gain popularity, but be careful as it’s not always good. popularity brings scandals too, so people you see in your everyday life could possibly start gossips around you. the good thing about this aspect is that you emanate loyalty, so you usually attract and choose loyal and trust-worthy partners. this placement may also bring issues and problems in marriage with your future partner, even though I don’t think it’s your case. your venus is well-placed, so I don’t think there’ll be serious problems.
🌞 sun in gemini, 14° / 2nd decan ruled by mercury and venus
with your sign in the mutable sign of gemini, you are a very light-hearted, chill individual. you're very bright and bubbly, you have amazing communication skills and also an entertaining sense of humor that is able to light up the room. you're very sociable, you like interacting with others, even though I assume that with your heavy scorpio energy in your chart, you could find it slightly harder to let this side of you out, especially with people you don't feel comfortable with. since gemini is a mutable sign, you most likely have tons of interests and hobbies, they're so many that you find it hard to keep up with all of them, despite being extremely good at multi-tasking. in fact, you're particularly intelligent and thirsty for knowledge. you like learning about everything, you love looking and being smart. it's your way to feel empowered and proud of yourself. you always need freshness in your daily life, you cannot stand boredom. because of that, you may often change your ideas, your hobbies, your favourite singer, etc. sometimes, you could even apply this to friends and lovers, and people may consider you unloyal or not much serious because of that. in addition, you get easily very anxious and stressed, to the point that you may seem dramatic to others. you may also get scared easily, even though you try to stay collected thanks to your libra moon who wants to be well-seen.
gemini sun conjunct gemini mercury: you express your ego and identity through your words and ideas. you’re very opinionated and you protect strongly your beliefs. after all, you probably came up with your ideals after thinking deeply about them, you were too precise to be wrong. you’re also probably an avid reader, and you could do well in writing yourself, as you’re able to properly convey your ideals with your words. also, your heavy air dominance makes you naturally good at writing books, poetry or even philosophical quotes. your mind is very active, and you feel comfortable letting all your thoughts out. it’s actually a way to relieve stress. you also have a wide vocabulary, and you’re capable of making a formal speech if you have to. you have a memorable way of speaking, as your words are very sharp. it’s hard for you to be ignored for your intellect.
gemini sun conjunct gemini mars: with this placement, you may be even more straight-forward than the typical gemini. you are very impulsive and honest above all, you say things as they are. you don't get hurt easily, you're able to be very brave when you want to, and even if you do get emotionally hurt, you know how to stand up for yourself again. you strive to achieve your goals and make your dreams come true, you're an hard-worker. some may call you impatient, and you may actually be, but in reality you just can't wait for things to happen. for example, let's suppose you're going to the mall to buy the playstation you always wanted. you'd start only thinking and talking about that playstation until you actually get it in your hands. you get easily excited. also, this is another placement that indicates that is hard not to notice you. you have a very strong charisma that makes others stare. you strive to be the number #1 at whatever you do, you're a serious competitor and you'd do anything to win and achieve your goals.
gemini sun opposite sagittarius pluto: probably during your childhood you couldn't make your own decisions. you might have been highly influenced by someone in your family, probably your father, and hence now you feel the need to have everything under control. maybe too much. you despise authority, you may even be quite rebellious. maybe your parents have tried to convince you following their religion, ideals etc., without giving you freedom. or perhaps, they are overprotective and avoid to make you have experiences.
🌙 moon in libra, 15° / 2nd decan ruled by venus and uranus
the most independent and open-minded libra decan. in life, you strive for equality and fairness. for example, you don’t want to give less than someone else, you would feel guilty about it. at the same time, you don’t want to be the one that gives more either; you’re afraid that people could take advantage of you. therefore, balance is what you find the most pleasant. ironically, you struggle to keep the same balance in yourself, though. you may appear a bit emotionally cold, as you don’t feel comfortable showing your true self due to your secrecy. you come off as kind of analytical, but you’re actually very romantic. you wish the world was just filled with love and peace, and you that you didn’t have to worry about malice or anything of that type. you hate vulgarity, and you try to be as kind as possible with your words, even though you may be too straight-forward and fail at that. you're most likely an extrovert, or at least you may know a lot of people. yet, you have troubles actually creating close bonds with others. you basically have more acquaintances than friends. you’re a nice mediator, you know how to get along with others and make others get along.
🗣 mercury in gemini, 7° / 1st decan ruled by mercury
mercury is in its natural place in gemini, your whole chart flows very well! you have great problem-solving skills, you are extremely intelligent and astute. when you were younger, you probably used to be the winner at games like hide-and-seek. this placement also enhances your thirst for knowledge of any kind, you want to learn at least a little about anything, from science to foreign cultures. yet, since you want to learn so many things all at once, you may lack precision and be a little bit superficial. on the other hand, you're a fast learner, but since you lack water in your chart I assume that you may rely more on logic than intuition, which is both good and bad. you may often find people predictable, but in reality you're just ahead of them. you're also very open-minded, even though you may be too logical at times, meaning that you're quite stubborn when it comes to certain topics. you're not like your sister sign is sagittarius who's up to believe everything. yet, it's easy for you to be flexible in your day-to-day life, you don't have to follow a schedule to have everything under control, even though you may often suffer from stress and headaches due to this lack of organization. you may have a very youthful and positive voice, you just give off good vibes, you know?
gemini mercury conjunct gemini mars: this placement makes you slightly more aggressive with your words. in fact, it makes you look more assertive and almost bossy. you could often attack people with words when you get angry, and you can get quite provocative too. while you are quick-minded and it's hard for you to be tricked, you have a very sharp tongue that could hurt others. other people may not understand your sense of humor for example, and they could get offended. you love debates and expressing your opinions, as you take a lot of pride in your thoughts. yet, may also take things very personally, you get defensive extremely easily, and that makes it hard to have a healthy discussion with you as you're very fiery. you could often get into arguments.
gemini mercury opposite sagittarius pluto: you may become a bit manipulative. you probably don’t even realize it, though, as you have the ability to make people do what you want them to do. you probably love being right, especially during arguments, and you always manage to be so thanks to your communication skills. your words are like knives for others, they can truly cut deep through their ego. you’re direct and blunt, as you just say what you have in mind with no filters. you can develop a provocative attitude without even realizing it, which can obviously cause you conflicts. you need to be more careful about how you communicate your ideas, otherwise you could seriously damage other people’s self-esteem. on the other hand, if you acknowledge your flaws and work on them, this can actually turn into diplomacy. take advantage of your interest in your inner self to find out how to be a bit more gentle in choosing your words.
❤️ venus in taurus, 6° / 1st decan ruled by venus
you seek long-lasting relationships. you're very romantic, and this fixed influence gives you high standards for your partner, you stay back from players. you look for someone you can always count on, and that is willing to support you through thick and thin. it may take you a while to find someone worth to be your lover, but once you find them, you'll always be loyal to them as long as they're respectful. they're your most precious possession, hence you're very jealous and protective of them. if it becomes unhealthy for both you and your partner, it's surely an issue you have to solve, maybe together. you're also the type who likes to be spoiled by their lover, and wants to make lovely gifts as well. these gifts don't have to be expensive, even homemade things are fine. for example, you may melt at the thought of your significant other to take their time and do something exclusively for you, like baking a cake or writing a poem. little gestures that show you their love. in a potential partner, you also care about how they present themselves. I'm not necessarily talking about conventional beauty, but more on a self-care side. you like people who smell good, have a nice fashion sense and maybe people that are quite conceited too (obviously not to the point of narcissism).
taurus venus conjunct aries saturn: as I've already mentioned above, you're a very affecionate and loyal partner. yet, due to this placement, there could be some insecurity around your love affairs. you may be too cold in relationships, it could be that you have troubles showing your love and affection for others. or perhaps, you're afraid of being in a relationship, and hence you may directly avoid them or break-up all of a sudden. you could literally jump into relationships, resulting in you getting hurt from time to time. because of this, with this placement marriage is usually delayed. it could be hard for you to find your true love, but it'll surely come. you could possibly date people more dominant / older than you, and I'd recommend you to get married after your saturn return, which is around your 27/28s. little side-note, you may often date karmic partners, aka partners from your past lives, so you may often experience this 'I’ve already seen you before’-vibe in your new encounters and relationships, and you’ll always learn something from all your relationships.
☄️ mars in gemini, 8° / 1st decan ruled by mercury
you’re driven by the sense of intelligence. your intellect is your greatest strenght, it’s your energy tank. you’re interested in a bunch of things, and hence you may have troubles staying focused on one thing at the time. you probably have tons of hobbies, and you may end up not being much precise since you have tons of things that you have and want to do. you can’t stand boredom, you need your day-to-day life to be exciting and, above all, offer you something new to learn and / or experience. you probably fancy being very active: you go out often, you workout, you may also be the type to love partying and things like that. you’re extremely witty and curious, and you want to live your life to the fullest. you may often change your style, your opinions, maybe even your personality, and that could make you seem confusing and / or unreliable.
gemini mars opposite sagittarius pluto: with this placement, I assume that when you were younger you were some sort of victim. you could have been bullied, for example, you used to be insecure about the way you looked and were. you could have felt different from others, and they took advantage of that to make you feel even more insecure. or maybe, it was a parent, or every authoritative figure in your life, that restricted you from following your own ideals. because of that, now you constantly feel the need to prove yourself. you probably tend to accumulate a lot of anger all together, which you need to let all out or you could explode. you could find comfort in physical ways to relieve stress, like punching bags, slamming doors, etc. or perhaps, when you're angry you just get overwhelmed by all of your emotions. you may cry, scream, even throw up in certain cases. on the other hand, you are extremely magnetic and attractive to others, you naturally draw people towards you. you're also extremely passionate in whatever you do, you put your whole heart in doing things you love. you're very hard-working and determined to achieve your goals, and I find this beneficial considering that your gemini energy tends to make one superficial. with this aspect, you're probably more dedicated than the common gemini.
🏡 houses, interceptions
your 1st house is in scorpio. you fulfill your ego when you deal with intense situations that satify your needs. that is, you find strenght in getting out of your comfort-zone. even though you may be afraid of it. you’re an enigma: you know everything about others, but others know nothing about you. it’s your way to protect yourself from eventual enemies, as you’re prone to have a few of them throughout your life. pluto is also here; your scorpio energy is enhanced even more in this way, and since it's opposite mars you may usually come off as aggressive or too impulsive. you indeed come off as someone very fiery, and you may be when you get angry, but deep down your libra energy just wants calm and peace. physically, you may also have stronger features: you could have a strong jawline, a wide forehead, a distinctive nose and thinner lips. chiron is also here: your deepest insecurity is your appearance, your identity. it may be that when you were younger, you used to struggle a lot with your appearance. you could have been bullied, or perhaps you could have suffered from an eating disorder. luckily, this placement can get better. in fact, you can gain wisdom from this wound of yours; you can heal others who have self-worth issues once you start loving yourself.

your 6th house is in aries. you work hard to be the number #1 in what you care about, especially if your goals involve school, work, health etc. your days are usually quite busy, and you may tend to overwork yourself. you also have venus and saturn here in the same house. I consider this a positive placement! having one of the most beneficial planet in the same house with saturn, the most malefic planet, makes you feel way less saturn's limitations. in fact, this placement usually makes it hard for you to be healthy, both physically and emotionally, and you may have the tendency to overwork yourself. you could even have bad luck at work, but thanks to venus this energy is mitigated, and you may actually find pleasure in working. this is another placement that indicates that you'll work in a creative, artistic field. possibly, you may also work with beauty. with the ruler of the 6th being in the 7th house, you'll most likely meet your future spouse at your work place. you could pursue the same career, they could be a customer of yours... or perhaps, you could meet them in your everyday life, and hence if you attend college you could meet them there, or perhaps in a gym, at the supermarket, on the bus, etc. any place that you frequent daily.
your 7th house is in taurus. in a marriage you seek security, both emotional and financial. you want a loyal partner that would never do anything to hurt you, and that has a wealthy job as well. intimacy and trust also matter a lot for you in a long-term relationship. mercury and mars are also placed in this house: you want a partner that is basically very similiar to you. they need to be open-minded and intelligent, they need to stimulate you mentally. but still, they also need to know how to stand up for themselves, you need someone that can compete with you, you're always up for a good challenge. yet, this could eventually cause power struggles between you two, and the marriage could possibly become overwhelming, so beware of that. take advantage of your libra moon and try to balance your feelings with those of your future spouse.
your 8th house is in gemini. you may frequently find yourself thinking and studying occult/taboo topics, such as paranormal events, thrillers, tarots, astrology etc. you’re interested in finding out the truth, not only among your peers but in the whole world. you have a desire that all the malice that is hiding behind the government etc. gets exposed, even though you may be so interested in them that you could get used to it and end up overlooking them. the ruler of the 8th house is in the 7th house: as I've already mentioned above, your future spouse will most likely be your soulmate! that is, you've already met them in a past life of yours, you'll feel naturally attracted to each other. your spouse will allow you to gain more self-esteem and security in yourself, they'll help you embrace your identity. also, you could marry someone very sexual.

your 11th house is in virgo. this placement, together with your heavy scorpio influence, makes you very picky with friends. you may frequent and feel happy with different people, but you only call friends a few of them. you also have friends with similiar ideals and approach to yours, hence it’s easy for you to get along as you see eye to eye. the moon is also placed in this house; your friends feel like family to you, you're extremely attached to them and you may actually live with them in some time of your life, perhaps in the same dorm or directly in an apartment. they'll nurture you and help you become more mature, or perhaps you could even still be friends with some high school or childhood mates of yours. the ruler of the 11th house is in the 7th house: you may marry a friend of yours. perhaps, at first you and your future spouse won't even like each other, you'll just be common friends, but then you will eventually develop things for each other.

❤️ love life, soulmates
in love, you attract taurus, libra, pisces, sagittarius, virgo, scorpio. your future spouse is probably going to have prominent virgo/gemini/3rd or 6th house placements, as well as some scorpio/aries/8th house dominance too. they may be very intense, magnetic and sexy, but also extremely possessive and jealous. they’ll also be very intelligent and philosophical. you may meet them at work, and they’ll be a big boost for your self-esteem and reputation. you could also meet them during a short trip, hence on a bus, on a train etc. your children are probably going to have prominent pisces or sagittarius placements, or at least they’ll have pisces/water traits: they’ll be spiritual, calm, artistic and sleepy, yet they may also develop a rebel/emo attitude during their teenage years. they will also be very attached to their family, especially to you, and they'll be very open-minded and curious.
👶🏻 family life
your mother is probably a very caring person that knows how to stand up for herself when she has to, but she may struggle to do that. in fact, she looks very emotionally detached and possibly moody, unpredictable. she also has very strong beliefs that you inherited from her. your father could have been a bit more egotistic than your mother. he was probably very self-centered, and lacked empathy. there could have been many misunderstandings with him. if you have siblings, they probably have prominent capricorn / pisces / aquarius placements in their chart. you'll probably start loving each other more as time goes and you grow up. in the worst case, your mother might have had a miscarriage, or maybe they were stillborn. also, as I’ve already mentioned before, you and your family may live abroad, or least in a different city from your native one.
📊 career
you'd do best at a career that involves creativity and possibly fame. more specifically, you need to able to express your feelings through creative outlets. that means that you would become extremely successful as a writer / poet, singer, musician, dancer, actress, artist, photographer... possibly, even a stylist, as you may express your emotions and ideals through certain clothes designs. what matters is that it allows you to express your feelings in some way, that is creative and that also lets you feel praised and important, you don't want to go overlooked for your work. actually, there are quite a lot of placements in your chart that could indicate that you have the potential to be famous, or at least that you know how to handle recognition. you could also work in contact with celebrities, and hence you could be a make-up artist, a stylist, a hairdresser...
👗 fashion sense, style analysis
with your heavy venus presence, I'm sure you're very elegant. even if you're just wearing a sweatshirt with pants, you still manage to make it look so expensive and particular. you may like pastel, light colours, or even earthy shades like kaki, brown etc. you prefer using comfortable clothes, but you definitely know how to dress up when you have to. you might also be very fond of accessories, like jewellery and bags. you may also enjoy buying designer clothes, but even if they're cheaper, you want them to be of a nice quality. you may also enjoy going thrift shopping, as you may like wearing 'timeless' items, such as white shirts, blazers, coats, classic heels... basically, versatile clothes that are a must in your wardrobe, as they've always been trendy. you could also love oversized fits, as well as 80s/90s aesthetic.
👁 past life, life purpose
in your past existence, you were very in touch with your home, self, and probably marriage too. overall, your past life was very peaceful, especially when it comes to your family. this lifetime, though, you need to focus on letting the world know who you are. you have to build a reputation for your name and feel satisfied with your career, while still taking care of your family.
🤔 major transits interpretation / sept 15th
transit mars is currently conjunct your aries saturn, making this aries energy double. you may be extremely defensive and aggressive lately, you may often argue with others, especially with people you live with or someone from your family or that is above you, perhaps your parents or even a teacher. uranus is also transiting your 6th house, and it's going to conjunct saturn in some time. I'd keep an eye on this placement, as it can manifest as a sudden health problem, perhaps even a surgery, so try to be as healthy as possible. after all, transits are just potential, you can perfectly try to avoid them.
🧿 manifest what you want, secret skills
your secret skills revolve around finances and just security in general. with a positive attitude, you may attract material luck: money, clothes, houses… everything that you desire. since you’re a logical person, I assume the most efficient way for you to manifest through the LOA is writing! take a notebook and just write down positive affirmations, such as 'I have the car of my dreams’ etc. you may also write them on post-its and glue them around your house, so that you can accelerate the progress. you can also try to idealize your wish before trying to manifest it. for example, if you want a new sweatshirt, try to imagine yourself wearing it. you could also go into a shop and actually try that sweatshirt it on; being in contact with it will boost the law of attraction even more.
this is the end! thank you again for purchasing a reading, hope it resonated with you :)
