Dating Murphy MacManus isn’t the easiest thing in the world. In fact, if you were to ask his brother, he’d say something along the lines of “Dunno how ya put up with us being vigilantes and shit, lass.”
You and Murphy have had countless talks about him and his brother’s “hobby,” half of them ending in you begging to join him. He would never let you, its too dangerous.
So you work your job to support yourself and the boys. You don’t mind it really, they treat you like their queen. Usually, they’re home when you get off work. Walking in to a warm dinner, even if it was a frozen pizza, was a feeling you wish for every good person on earth.
Other nights, like tonight, the brothers wouldn’t be home. You couldn’t help the feeling of anxiety that went to that pit in your stomach. You rush to the note on the refrigerator, ripping it from the magnet that also held up a picture of you and Murphy kissing. Both the picture and the magnet fell off the fridge as you read the note.
“Went to grab Chinese takeaway for dinner. Be back soon x.”
You sighed in relief as you read Murphy’s chicken scratch handwriting. You remembered the magnet and picture that fell, and quickly retrieved them off of the floor. You smiled as you pinned the picture back to the fridge and silently thanked Connor for capturing that moment on camera.
It had been a long night at McGinty’s, and Doc had kept the rounds coming. You had somehow convinced Murphy to dance with you; it must have been the David Bowie song playing. At the end of the song, he dipped you down like you were in some kind of romance movie, and gave you one of many kisses that you two have shared in that bar. Once he heard the click of the camera, he gently dropped you to the floor and shoved his brother, trying to grab the camera. You laughed on the bar floor as he successfully got the camera and pocketed it. He must not have been too upset about the picture since he printed it out the next day.
You heard the door open while you were reminiscing, interrupted by the familiar sound of the twins bickering; this time about chopsticks.
Connor calls your name as he shuts the door. “Are ya gonna use chopsticks?”
You smile as Murphy rolls his eyes and sets the food down on the table. He makes his way over to you and kisses your cheek.
“Yeah, of course,” you answer Connor, “are you?”
He pulls two wrapped pairs of chopsticks out of his pocket and hands you one. “Of course! Murph here wouldn’t let me grab three because he doesn’t know how to use them.”
You look at Murphy who rolls his eyes again as he grabs your hips to slide past you and take a fork from the drawers. He grumbles out “I’m fuckin’ Irish, don’t need to know how, eejit.”
You giggle as you hug him from behind. “I’m pretty sure the Irish didn’t invent the fork either, Murphy.”
He tried to frown, but one side of his mouth lifted. “Are we gonna eat this shite or not?”
Tumblr media
After dinner and the nightly movie, you and Murphy retired to your shared bedroom. You were glad that the movie finished because it was Connor’s night to pick, and he picked the worst possible movie on earth, as usual.
You had both changed into your sleep clothes, and brushed your teeth together, smiling at each other in the mirror.
This was your favorite part of the day. You and Murphy got to cuddle in bed and just look at each other. His hand was on your cheek and his thumb was smoothing out your skin.
“Mo stór.” Murphy interrupts the silence.
You smile at him. “What’s that?”
“My darling.”
You kiss his forehead. “Yeah, I am.”
He smiles and kisses your lips gently.
You rest your forehead on his. “For a second I thought you were asking me to marry you or something.”
Without hesitation, he answers, “I would.”
You bring your head up from the pillow and lift your eyebrows in surprise at him.
He notices the shock on your face and scrambles to say something else. “I mean I don’t have a ring for you or anything. But I would get one. I just know that God sent you to me. I may be a saint, but you’re an angel, lass.”
He grabs your hand and kisses the top of it.
“It seems like it would be a pretty divine marriage if you ask me.”
You feel a tear fall from your eye. “Oh my god.”
He smirks as he wipes the tear from your face and chides, “Lord’s name, love.”
You giggle and then nod.
“Let’s do it.”

Getting Mouthy
Tumblr media
Much longer ago than I care to think about at this point, I hit 400 followers on my main blog and decided to celebrate by taking smut requests. I wrote three and posted one before the huge ass block that shut me down for years settled in for real. She's not active anymore, but the lovely lovely kitkat-589 requested Murphy MacManus and dirty talk. I held off on posting in the hope I could finish a few more pieces and make it a proper event, but finally setting it loose sounds like a much better idea.
Pairing: Murphy x reader
Summary: Murphy isn't the only one in trouble when he runs his mouth
Word count: 1100ish
Tags: language, teasing, dirty talk, Murphy MacManus is a little shit
Tumblr media
The crowd at McGinty's was loud and rowdy, but Murphy leaned in closer so she wouldn't miss a word. "Ye look fuckin amazing," he whispered, smiling as she giggled at the way his breath tickled her skin.
"I barely cleaned up after work," she argued as she gave him a playful shove back over onto his own barstool.
"Ye cleaned up just fine, love," Connor assured her on Murphy's other side. He winked at her as he tapped ash off the end of his cigarette and leaned against the bar. "Ye know ye always look lovely ta us. Now, this fucker, on the other hand…" He jabbed an elbow into Murphy's ribs, and Murphy smacked him over the back of the head in retaliation.
"Just fine," the dark-haired twin scoffed. "Fuckin jackass. Ye're a lot more than 'just fine.' Ye're the finest fuckin thing I've clapped eyes on, an that's a fact."
"How drunk are you, Murph?" she asked with a smile.
"Not even close." He finished off his beer and Doc replaced it without a word, but he hardly noticed, focused as he was on the woman beside him. "So...fuckin...beautiful," he said, and he leaned forward to bury his fingers in her hair and pull her close for a long kiss. She melted into it with a sigh before he drew away again and added, "If we weren't at this fuckin bar, I'd already have ye outta those clothes an beggin me ta fuck ye."
"Murphy!" The admonishment was in a sharp whisper, but her pleased smile belied her reprimand.
"Aye," he went on, "it's true. Been hard for ye since ye walked in here."
"Ssh!" She glanced at Doc, the closest potential eavesdropper, but he had already moved down the bar. "What if someone hears you talking like that?"
"Fuck em. What if we sneak off ta the bathroom an lock the door, an I eat yer pussy til ye're moanin my name? Ye think they'll hear us then?"
She made frantic shushing gestures with her hands, her expression caught between scandalized and aroused.
Murphy edged his barstool closer to hers and wrapped an arm around her, and she was tempted to take him up on his offer by the way he bent his head to her neck and kissed, bit, and sucked at her skin. "Christ, love," he murmured, "the things I wanna do to ye…"
"Lord's name, Murphy," she reminded him. She glanced over at Connor, watching them from his place on Murphy's other side, and he merely shrugged at her with a look that said he'd be in his twin's place already if Murphy hadn't beaten him to it.
"Not ta worry, lass, there's always confession." Murphy's hand slid under her shirt, palm warm against her soft skin as he moved to the small of her back and drew her closer. "An speakin a which," he added softly, "I need ta confess…" His mouth moved up along her neck until he could whisper directly into her ear, "I haven't stopped thinkin about how fuckin good it feels when ye come on my cock since the last time I had ye."
"Murph, that was last night."
"Aye, an I've been thinkin about it ever since."
"You need a hobby."
"Shaggin the livin daylights outta ye is my hobby."
"You need another hobby."
He had all but pulled her into his lap, and she braced with a hand against the bar as he leaned in for a kiss, lips and tongue still tasting of Guinness. "If no one was watchin…" he murmured.
"They are," she reminded him, though she couldn't say if she really cared anymore.
"I'd strip ye bare a little at a time," he went on, "and taste every inch of ye as I did, until I could get ta that beautiful pussy…"
She felt dizzy just listening to him and imagining him doing everything he was saying, or maybe Connor as well, because he still hadn't taken his eyes off her and Murphy.
"I'd tease ye open with my tongue," Murphy continued, pausing to kiss her again and run the tip of his tongue along the seam of her lips, "then I'd get a proper taste of ye, an ye'd be so sweet I couldn't help but devour ye."
Her breath caught in her throat, and she shifted slightly on the barstool. God, she was wet…
"I'd suck yer clit until ye squirmed, and fuck ye with my fingers, but I wouldn't let ye come right away."
"Why not?" she asked. She probably knew the answer, but the way he was talking, he might as well say that, too.
"I'd get ye close," he answered, lifting his hand to trace her mouth with the tip of his thumb. "As close as I dared, over an over again until ye're ready ta rip me fuckin lungs out for teasing ye."
She nodded and bit her lip as she tried to ignore the needy ache in her cunt. "Yeah?"
"Aye. An just when ye couldn't take anymore, ye know what I'd do?"
He was killing her… "What would you do?"
He leaned in closer, his eyes piercing into her. "I'd get the fuck outta my clothes as fast as I fuckin could, an I'd ask ye…"
"Yeah?"
That gaze was so intense…
"I'd ask ye, between me an Connor, who do ye think has the bigger cock?"
Connor burst out laughing.
She stared at Murphy, rattled by the conversation and blindsided by the sudden turn, then she turned back to the bar. "Doc!" she called. "Murphy needs to close his tab!"
"What?" Murphy asked, brow furrowed. "What the fuck for?"
"Because," she answered as she looked him over, "you and I are going to get out of here and go home, and I'm going to wind you up and drive you batshit fucking crazy, then leave you hanging until you've had a taste of your own medicine."
"I've warned ye, Murph," Connor chimed in from the stool next door, "ye keep teasing the lass the way ye do, it'll bite ye in the arse."
Murphy glanced between his brother and their lover, his stunned expression nearly comical.
She leaned in and combed her fingers into his hair to pull him close enough to whisper in his ear, "You still want a taste of my pussy, right?"
He swallowed audibly, and she could have laughed at how quickly the tables had turned. "Aye," he answered, "I do."
"Well, then." She gave him a kiss on the cheek and slowly walked away. "You better come get it."
Murphy only hesitated another moment before he paid his tab and hurried after her to leave Connor sitting at the bar, watching after them and shaking his head. He'd give them some time alone before he headed home. She deserved her revenge, and Murphy had earned some payback.

could you write a a story where the reader and Murphy get into a little fight because the reader is worried that Murphy will get hurt. They both apologize and the story ends in fluff.
Oh I love this idea! I also just love Murphy, he is the biggest sweetheart. I’m actually watching the movie again as I write this. This is my first time writing with Murphy so I hope it's good. Anyway let’s get into it.
You are my love (Murphy MacManus x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary:
You and Murphy had just started dating recently. Murphy and Connor always ended up sneaking off somewhere and you had enough of it.
Word Count: 1,504k
Pairing: Murphy MacManus x Reader (she/her)
Warnings: Angst, Some arguing, fighting, cursing
Your POV
You had enough. Enough of the sneaking around. The whispers between the two brothers. Something was going on and you where going to find out. You've been dating Murphy for a few months now. You both met one night at McGinty’s. You’re friends had dragged you out one night for drinks. You only went so they wouldn’t keep pestering you about it. You caught those striking blue eyes from across the bar.
You and your friends sat down at one of the tables. You walked up towards to the bar to order your drinks. You felt those same eyes stare at you. You didn’t mind the attention. You turned your head. His short brown hair, Those enchanting blue eyes, The tattoo on his neck and the other on his hand. Oh he was a looker. You waved and smiled softly at him before turning away waiting on the older gentleman behind the bar get your drinks.
That’s when he approached you. He was slightly taller than you. You could smell his cologne. Mixed with the smell of cigarettes. You don’t know what it was but it made your heart beat faster. He smiled at you and leaned against the bar. “Hey the’r lass”
And now here you where. Murphy was supposed to be over at your apartment several hours ago. You were worried about him. What if he got mugged or hurt? Boston wasn’t really the nicest place around here. Especially with all the mafia problems happening lately. Two vigilantes had been going around and killing them all. Calling them the Saint’s Brothers. You huffed and grabbed your purse and keys. You where going to go find out where he was.
First you went to Doc’s to make sure they weren’t at the bar. You parked your car and stepped out. It was pretty late and he would be closing soon. It was rather empty besides a sleeping Roco and Connor at the bar but no Murphy. You stormed up to Connor and quickly grabbed him by his hair. “Where the hell is your brother Connor!?” You yelled at him.
“Ay! lass would ya let go of me?? That hurts!” Connor said as he jumped out of his seat. You had woken up Roco too. He tried to help Connor but was stumbling all over the place. “Butt ou’t of this Roco- Shit! Fuck” Doc said stuttering from his tourettes. “Ok, ok! just let me go and I’ll tell ya everythin’ I promise” Connor said putting his hands up. You let Connor fall back down in his seat. “Better start talking Macmanus” You threatened as you crossed your arms in front of your chest.
After an hour had passed Connor had explained everything to you, even in his very drunk state. You stood there and listened to it all. All this time with the sneaking off, and the secrets and leaving for odd hours was because they where the Saint Brother’s?! At first you didn’t really believe it at all, Your sweet and kind yet goofy boyfriend Murphy. Was out with his brother and Roco killing the mafia. You scoffed until it clicked in your brain.
One night Murphy came home with a injury on his arm. “So Murphy almost got shot in his arm and you weren’t going to tell me!? I saw the bandage and he said it as from the meat packing plant! You both lied to me for months!” You yelled at Connor. He grumbled at you and quickly covered his head with his arms to protect himself.
That’s when Murphy came walking in with some flowers in his hand, You had got to be kidding!? He smiled big and almost ran up to you until he saw that look on your face. Oh you were mad at him. Pissed off to be exact. You went up to him and started to smack his head and his arms. Tears started to run down your face as you herd Murphy yell at you. You also heard laughing coming from Connor and Roco.
"Would ya quit hittin’ me love!?”
Murphy shouted at you to get you to stop hitting you. Blocking every hit you landed on his arms. You were angry, upset and so frustrated with Murphy right now. Was he not thinking?? He could have gotten hurt, He could have died fro crying out loud. “You lied to me Murphy! All this time you and your brother have been the Saint’s and I had to find out from Connor!” You yelled at him angrily. Murphy had gently pushed you to the side. He set the flowers down and quickly grabbed his brother by the collar. “Ya told her?! She has nothin’ to do with this Connor!” Murphy yelled at his sibling. Connor grabbed Murphy by his shoulders. “Ay yer woman wanted to know, besides it was time anyway” Connor said to his sibling. They both started shouting and shoving each other around.
You quickly went over and separated them. “Enough! the both of you, quit it!” You yelled at the twins. Murphy pushed Connor away and turned to you. He saw the anger and frustration on your face but something different in your eyes. You had been crying, you weren’t completely mad with him. You were also worried and afraid. You sniffled and wiped your tears away. “Hey, hey lass. Look I’m sorry for everythin’. For keepin’ what we do a secret. For sneaking off late at night. For missin’ our date night” Murphy said as he gently grabbed you by the hips pulling you towards him.
He brushed a strand of hair away from your face, tilting your head up to look at him. Those enchanting blue eyes were filled with regret and sadness. He had meant it. He hated keeping his double life from you but he just wanted to keep you safe. “I jus’ needed to keep you safe love, what we do ain’t safe for ya” He said softly gently rubbing his thumb against your cheek. You sniffled again and grabbed onto his black trench coat. The one he always wore.
“I don't like being lied to Murph, it hurts that you kept this from me. I'm done with you sneaking around with Connor, and coming home at ridiculous hours of the night. I'm always worried sick that maybe one day you won't come back to me at all” You said to him as more tears ran down your cheeks. You loved Murphy but you hadn't told each other yet.
“I love you, you idiot”
You finally confessed to him. Murphy looked you in the eyes and smiled. After only dating for a few months he just felt something different with you. He always wanted to protect you and have you near him. You always lit up a room when you where together.
“Is tú mo ghrá” Murphy said to you softly. You had no idea what he said. “What? You asked softly looking at him in confusion. “I said, you are my love, lass” Murphy said again staring deeply into your eyes.
You glanced down at his lips and back up at his eyes before leaning up and kissing Murphy lovingly. Wrapping your arms around his neck. Murphy leaned down and wrapped his arms tightly around your body as you kissed. Lifting you slightly off the floor. You heard cheering coming from some where, too wound up in kissing Murphy and your heart feeling like it would jump out of your chest.
Eventually Murphy slowly pulled away still holding you close to his body. “I love ya, lass. More than you'll ever know, I promise to be safe and I won't sneak out late anymore” Murphy said to you gently pressing his forehead against yours. He reached over and handed you the flowers he got you. “Please for’give me, love” He said so sweetly and softly.
“I forgive you, Murph. But be safe and no more sneaking around okay” You said as you took the flowers from him. You didn't ever want to leave Murphy's side again.
You heard the cheering again, it was Connor and Roco happy to see you two make up. “Another round Doc! It's goin’ to be a late one” Connor said with a smile on his face. Connor wouldn't admit it but he loved how you where with his twin. You kept Murphy happy.

When you lived with the MacManus Brothers, there was always something new, something going on; either that range from waking up to one of the men's bare asses facing you as they shower, to the two of them leaving you to rest as they went to Morning Mass.
You had known them long before you and Murphy had gotten together, a family friend of you will. Anything that they had done didn't compare to what you were woken up to in the morning. You had been left sound asleep as they attended Mass, but a loud slam following by some bickering then laughing greeted you as the two men and a... Tree? Breached the threshold of the door.
"Murphy?" You all but mumbled as they made a bunch of noise. "Aye lass! We've got ourselves a tree!" You heard your boyfriend sound from behind his twin. "Aye! It's quite a beauty, isn't it?" Connor sounded with a bright smile on his face. You sat up on the mattress, watching as they tried their best to shove it into a corner. "Yeah.. it's nice. But, we have no space, and no decorations." You countered unsurely, trying your best not to burn out their holiday flame. Their spirits were difficult to darken.
"Then we'll jus' have to get some, right little brother?" Murphy asked with a shit eating grin on his face. It was hard to take both of them seriously as they were covered in tinsle, a fight already breaking out as Connor was determined to prove that he was the bigger brother. You just sighed, getting up as the two of them tackled each other, practically tripping over the others' limbs. You stared at the tree. It most definitely was nice, probably the biggest tree they've could've gotten, one that definitely expensive. Your eyes traveled down to the very unclean cut bottom limb.
"Did you guys cut this down yourselves?" You asked incredulously. Their fighting ceased, instead replaced by grins as their hair was ruffled, sweat beading on their foreheads and eyebrows.
"Aye, lass! We spotted her on our way home from mornin' mass! She was practically callin' to us!" Connor exclaimed excitedly. "How'd you cut it down?" Curiosity was evident in your tone as you scaled the tree. "We stopped by McGinty's. Crazy old bastard had one in the back." Murph spoke as he wrapped both of his arms around your waist, resting his chin on your shoulder as he now spoke into your ear.
"We figured we'd surprise you, love." You reached up to run your fingers through his hair. "Well, consider me pleasantly surprised."

Birthday Scottish actress Siobhan Redmond, born in Glasgow on August 27th 1959.
Please note wiki give her d.o.b as July 27th, but two other sources say August.
Redmond was educated at Park School for Girls in Glasgow’s West End. She then studied English at St Andrews University, it is here she started acting in student productions and is said to have been discovered by oor Makar Liz Lochhead. She went on to complete a one-year postgraduate year at the Bristol Old Vic.
Siobhan might not be a household name, but she has some pretty impressive credentials to her portfolio, her first roles were in comedy shows, the most famous being Alfresco in 1983/84 alongside an impressive line up that included, Robbie Coltrane, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Emma Thompson and Ben Elton, as seen in the first photo.
She went on to become a regular character in the 80’s series Bulman, as Lucy McGinty. Perhaps her biggest TV role was in the 90’s cop show Between the Lines as Det. Sgt. Maureen Connell, after this she appeared with Alan Cummings in the underrated sitcom The High Life, a link to another post today, in 1997 we saw her onscreen with Billy Connolly in an adaptation of Deacon Brodie!
Redmond took on a role in the Hospital-soap type series Holby City as consultant paediatrician and clinical lead of Otter Ward, Janice Taylor. Since then Siobhan seems to have reverted to playing the role of a cop again, in The Bill, crime scene examiner Lorna Hart in 14 episodes in 2007 and in Taggart in 2010 she was Chief Supt Karen Campbell in 6 episodes. Redmond has also provided the voice of Ollie in the popular bairns animated show Nina and the Neurons. As [Poirot] went down the path he heard Robin Upward’s clear tenor voice:
“But Ariadne, darling,” he said, “it’s all very well, but with that moustache and everything, how can one take him seriously? Do you really mean he’s good?”
Poirot smiled to himself. Good indeed!

The Lake Of the Isles Inhabitants Rejoice
March 2, 1908
A happy family of Pickerels (a type of pike fish) dressed up for the Band Concert at the Harriet Bandstand. A sign behind them reads "To the new Lake of Isles - Calhoun Canal. Harriet Concerts." The father pickerel says "I wish he would play 'Down Went McGinty'"
The caption reads "Pa Pickerel (when the canal is in) - 'Great advantages, my dear, to run down, every evening, to the Harriet concerts.' Ma Pickerel - 'Yes, aren't the park board the dears!'"
A canal had been proposed between the two Minneapolis lakes, it would be completed in 1911.

The Comic Book Industry Has a Lot to Answer For
I'm sure most of you are aware of the #ComicsBrokeMe hashtag that went viral a few weeks ago following the tragic death of Ian McGinty. I've written about it on my Substack for those who aren't aware.
Suffice it to say, the direct sales market doesn't work for the majority of comic creators who instead rely on a donation or subscription style service from its fans. I think the positive from this situation is that more and more comic creators have the potential to build a career that is fair and can actually sustain them. The negative is that it feels that this is down to luck, coupled with the culture of consuming content for free as well as the monopolisation of the big 2 (among others).
The moral of this tale is to support your creators whenever you can. Even a share, a subscribe or a shout out can do the world of good for those responsible for the comics we love and it only costs us a tiny amount of time and a simple click or tap.

Without a goodbye
Murphy MacManus x female Reader fanfiction
From meeting Murphy one night at the pub, to him disappearing for eight years without a goodbye...to him coming back. (This was a request but I realized I didn’t really write it as requested...sorry.)
Tumblr media
You still remember the day you met him as if years hadn’t passed.
You were with some friends in one of the Irish pubs of Boston, McGinty’s, chatting and having some drinks, when your eyes landed on a group of three men, but you instantly seemed to focus on just one of them, sitting on a stool near the bar.
Murphy MacManus.
He was probably one of the most attractive men you had ever seen, one of those you think wouldn't exist in the real world. Pretty blue eyes, bright with mischief as he seemed to joke and banter with the other men, a charming, cocky smirk tugging at his lips. Nice, sharp cheekbones, and short, dark hair spiking here and there almost as if he’d just rolled out of bed.
Damn…
There was another guy, who you’d later find was Connor, Murphy’s twin, sitting down on another stool next to Murphy, looking incredibly handsome too, and you couldn’t help but notice how they seemed to move somehow in sync. There was a third man standing in front of them, with wild long hair, Rocco, the brother’s best friend, whom you met later and never really liked, and both brothers seemed to be laughing at whatever he was saying, joking with him or maybe teasing him.
You tried not to stare at that handsome stranger, force yourself to look away, but your eyes stubbornly went back to look at Murphy not even half a second later, and you called yourself an idiot when you found yourself thinking that even his nose was cute…what a silly thought.
Suddenly, those blue eyes found yours. You tried to look away, embarrassed that he might think you were staring at him, even if you had, indeed, been staring at him, but you couldn’t avert your gaze, and for a moment, you both looked at each other.
You weren’t sure who looked away first.
All through the night, though, your eyes kept meeting, as you both seemed unable to stop looking at each other from time to time, but it wasn’t until a couple of hours later, or so, that you actually met him.
“Hey.”
You were at the counter ordering another drink when you heard a voice calling for you, and when you looked at your side, there was the handsome stranger to whom your eyes had wandered all through the night.
He was as attractive as he’d seemed from afar…no, probably more. You blinked at him, surprised that he was talking to you, and you felt a silly, unwelcome wave of nervousness in your stomach.
“Hey,” you forced yourself to greet him too when you realized that you were just staring at him in silence and looking like a half-panicked horse…you hadn’t dreamed that this guy would approach you…
“I’m Murphy,” he introduced himself with a smile so pretty that it made him look even more handsome, and your stomach did something weird again.
It wasn’t the cocky, mischievous smirk that you had spied on him sometimes before, when he seemed to be joking with his friends, though. This was another kind of smile, and you wondered if he too looked a bit nervous and shy, or if you were imagining it.
“I’m Y/N,” you introduced yourself, trying to smile…you wanted to look nice and friendly, but those damn things twirling in your stomach weren’t making it easy.
“Nice to meet ye…I hadn’t seen ye here before,” Murphy told you.
“No, it’s the first time I come, actually…my friend Aine, his brother comes here often and he told her this was a nice place, so we decided to come this night,” you explained shyly, nodding first towards your friend, then to her brother and his group of friends.
“He’s right, this is the best pub in Boston, love,” Murphy said, his pretty smile growing, brightening his face, making him look even more handsome, which combined with him calling you love…yes, the silly butterflies were twirling like crazy in your stomach, even if you tried to stop it and get yourself together.
“You, uh…” You cleared your throat. “So you come here often, then?”
“Almost every night, aye.” Murphy nodded. “Me and my brother Connor live in the building in front of this, we got lucky!” He said as he nodded towards the guy who had been sitting down on the stool next to him.
So that was his brother…you remembered thinking that they moved oddly in sync, and they even dressed in a similar style too.
“I guess that’s convenient,” you chuckled shyly.
“It is!” Murphy nodded. “So, uh…” His eyes darted towards where his brother was sitting down, looking at you both, and then back to you, and you wondered again if Murphy looked shy too or you were just imagining it. “Ye like the pub? I mean…aye, ye gotta like it, it’s the best.”
“Yes, I do like it, it’s really nice.” You nodded, you didn’t think it was the best, but you wanted to be nice.
“Aye, so…ye think ye’ll be back, then?” He asked you and you nodded even if you hadn’t talked about it with your friends yet…but if Murphy went there every day then, yes, you might be going more often than you had thought. “Nice!” Murphy’s pretty smile grew again and how in the world was it so beautiful. “So then I guess I’ll see ye around.”
“Yes.” You sure hoped so. “If you come here every day.”
“Aye!”
You both looked at each other, and you wondered if there was any chance that Murphy was feeling as shy as you…you didn’t know what to do, you wanted to say something, you knew you had to, you wanted to keep talking with him, but you didn’t know what to say or what to do…it seemed as if Murphy was about to say something too, but then he didn’t.
Both your drinks were placed in front of you and when Murphy reached for his, you did the same with yours, still not knowing what to do or say.
“I guess, I should, uh…” You said vaguely, gesturing towards your friends.
“Aye…” Murphy nodded towards his brother too, who was still looking at you both.
“It was nice meeting you,” you said, hating how awkward it sounded. “I, uh…I guess I’ll see you around if you come every day.”
“Aye” Murphy nodded before he glanced towards his brother again and you thought he might walk back to him, but then he looked back at you. “We’ll come back tomorrow again.”
“Then maybe we’ll see each other tomorrow.” You smiled, or tried to…you looked forward to seeing this handsome and charming guy again, even if you weren’t doing the best job at talking to him, but it also made you kind of nervous.
Murphy nodded, giving you that pretty smile that made your belly do weird things, and you nodded at him before retreating back to your friends while Murphy walked back to his.
Your friend Aine raised her eyebrows at you, grinning. “What were you talking about with that hot guy?”
“Oh…nothing…” You felt your cheeks heating up. “He was just saying hi…”
“He walked right to you when he saw you, I think he’s interested in you,” Aine said, nudging you.
“Really?” You couldn’t help the twirls in your belly at it. “He said he and his brother come here every day.”
“See, he wants to see you again.” Aine grinned at you. “We’re coming back tomorrow.”
“Okay…” You chuckled, you were nervous about it but also excited…when you glanced towards Murphy, though, your smile died on your lips and your stomach dropped. “Forget it,” you scoffed.
“What, why?” Aine asked, looking towards Murphy too.
“He was just trying to make fun of me or something,” you said, defensive…you shouldn’t have trusted someone that handsome. “Look at him, they’re laughing at me…he was just messing…”
Aine let out a sigh, rolling her eyes. “Why do you always jump to that conclusion?” She asked and you shrugged, defensive. “I’m pretty sure it’s not true…in fact, I think those other two guys are actually laughing at your cute one, not at you…look.”
You did look, not sparing a thought at how little subtle you and Aine were in your staring, but the guys seemed too busy to notice…maybe Aine was right? Connor and Rocco were laughing and saying something to Murphy, who seemed pissed, before he seemed to snap at them, shoving his brother almost off the stool, but by the looks of it, it seemed to only make them laugh more while Murphy sat there, sulking.
“Maybe…” You murmured, unsure…you didn’t want to make a fool out of yourself, but you couldn’t help your hope that maybe Aine was right, and maybe Murphy was really interested.
“We’ll find out tomorrow,” Aine said, winking at you.
* On the next evening, you went with Aine to McGinty’s again. Murphy was there already, sat down in the same stool of the previous night with his brother next to him, although his friend Rocco was missing.
His eyes found you and a smile spread across his beautiful face while he gave you a nod, making butterflies bloom in your belly, and you gave him an awkward, shy wave.
“Come on, go speak with him,” Aine urged you but even though you wanted to, the idea made you nervous.
“And what do I tell him…”
“Anything…it doesn’t matter, just go and say hi.” Aine nudged you but you didn’t move, feeling insecure.
“Wait…let’s…let’s get our drinks first.”
Aine rolled her eyes and let out a sigh but nodded. “Okay.”
You tried to gather your courage to go to speak with Murphy, but by the time you finished your drink, which you drank a bit faster than usual as if it could help, you still hadn’t approached him. His friend Rocco was there too now, and it made you even more nervous about going to try to speak with Murphy.
Like the evening before, you were at the countering ordering another drink, when Murphy approached you.
“Hey, Y/N,” he greeted you with that pretty smile. “Ye came back.”
“Hi, Murphy.” Despite your nerves, his cute smile was contagious. “Yeah, I told you I would.”
“Aye…nice to see ye again, love,” Murphy said and the butterflies in your belly twirled out of control while you nodded, trying to say that it was nice to see him too. “I’ll get ye a drink, what are ye havin’?”
“Oh, you don’t have to…” You began, but he was already talking to the bartender as if he knew him, small wonder when he said he went there every day and even lived in front of the pub. Well, maybe then you could get him a drink later, it’d be a chance to hang out with him more.
Once you both had your drinks, you looked at each other but neither of you said anything, even though Murphy was looking at you intently with those pretty blue eyes, but your brain was still not allowing you to come up with anything. You were scared thinking that he might find you boring and turn around to go back to his friends, when you realized that one of them was actually approaching you both.
“Hey, I’m Rocco,” he introduced himself. “Y/N, right?” He asked and you nodded, guessing that Murphy had told him your name.
“The fuck are ye doin’ here!” Murphy snapped, clearly annoyed.
“Helping you because even from there-” he gestured towards where he had been and you noticed that Murphy’s brother was approaching too as if to help out. “I can see that you’re being as useless as yesterday and it’s making me sad.” He didn’t sound sad, though, but kind of mocking, and you didn’t feel good about it, making your insecurities grow.
“Shut up!” Murphy snapped again, giving Rocco a shove, but he ignored it, looking at you.
“Look, my friend here, he likes you and won’t shut up about you which is getting annoying, and he’s trying to get your number but he’s being clearly useless at it, so I’ll ask you for him,” Rocco said with that joking tone that you didn’t like and Murphy snapped at him to shut up again, pushing him, before his brother got in the middle, while you just stood there, awkward and confused.
“I told ye not to!” Connor said to Rocco before looking at Murphy. “But…aye, brother, it was lookin’ like ye needed help,” he said before Murphy shoved him against Rocco.
You didn’t know what to think, but you were feeling very uncomfortable and nervous, unsure of what was going on, and so you turned to leave, but Murphy noticed, despite being arguing with his friend and his brother.
“Hey, love, no, wait,” he said, reaching to hold your wrist and stop you, his warm touch sending a tingling through all your body. “I’m sorry that they’re idiots.”
Murphy was looking upset and you didn’t know what to think…and the feeling of his hand on your arm was a bit distracting. You glanced at his friends, Connor seemed contrite but Rocco was still smiling.
“I…just…I don’t want to be a joke…” You said quietly, you couldn’t help yourself, even if you felt stupid and embarrassed.
“What…why you say that, it’s nothing like that,” Murphy told you before looking at Connor and Rocco. “See what ye did, are ye happy?” He snapped.
“We’re sorry…” Connor said looking from his brother to you, but it just made you feel even more embarrassed… you were overreacting but you couldn’t help it… “Look, yer here with friends, aye?” Connor said and you nodded. “What if we all have a drink together?”
You weren’t sure, you still felt very awkward, but you looked at Murphy and…was he giving you puppy eyes? Damn, how could he look even cuter? His hand on your wrist slid down to hold your hand, his thumb stroking your knuckles…it was an oddly intimate touch considering that you both had barely shared a few words, and yet, it made you feel a bit more at ease, somehow.
“Okay…okay.” You finally nodded, making Murphy’s face light with a smile that had butterflies dancing in your belly. “I’ll go ask my friend…”
You went back to Aine, feeling Murphy’s eyes on you the whole time, and you tried to briefly explain to her what had happened and how confused you were, and she agreed to go have a drink with them in a second.
“And to think that a guy who looks like that is even worse at flirting than you…” She commented as she walked, and you shushed her, mortified. “It’s a bit of a pity that I do have a boyfriend…” She said as he eyed Connor as you both walked to them and you snorted.
“You don’t mean that…”
* When you had approached the guys with Aine, you had been wary, unsure of what to expect…but you had a great time.
Murphy had seemed shy and quiet when approaching you, but soon that was gone, and he actually talked so much, that you thought he might never stop…not that you minded, he was charming and funny, making butterflies twirl in your belly when he smiled at you, and you truly enjoyed hearing him and Connor tell stories about their childhood in Ireland and their new life in Boston.
The twins tended to talk over each other, to banter and try to make fun of each other, and it should have been ridiculous, but it was kind of endearing in a way. No matter the snapping and the jokes, though, or that you had just met them, you could see the deep connection between them.
By the end of the night, Murphy and you had not only exchanged numbers but would also go out on a date the next day, even if neither of you had actually called it a date.
And to that one, many others followed…
* Your relationship with Murphy wasn’t perfect.
He was sweet and easygoing, but he could also be a hothead quite often, snapping easily, but after an argument, once he’d cooled down, he usually apologized to you just as easily…sometimes he’d resort to the puppy eyes to have you forgiving him if he’d been an ass or to convince you to agree with him, and damn it but it worked.
Another problem was to get time alone with him, since both he and Connor seemed to be always together, a twin pack of two charming, fun Irish handsome guys, and sure, you were friends with Connor and enjoyed hanging out with him too, but you would have liked to have a bit more of time only with Murphy…there were some moments just for you and him, but it wasn’t often. And certainly, not in that apartment where the brothers lived, if you could even call that place with no doors or walls even for the bathroom an apartment.
All in all, there were more good moments than bad ones in your relationship with Murphy, he always managed to make you feel important and loved, with how sweet and charming he could be, and you never were bored with him around.
Little did you know how things were going to change...
*
Somehow, the events that started with trying to protect Doc and his pub from a group of mob bullies, ended up turning your cute and childish boyfriend and his brother into cold-blooded, reckless mafia killers, claiming that during a dream, God had given them a sacred mission to rid the world of everything that was evil starting with the mafia.
It was beyond insane…not to mention dangerous, even worse when you learned that Rocco, damn Rocco of all people, was helping them.
But no matter how many times you voiced your concern, how many times you begged, snapped, yelled, cried, they ignored you, angry and upset with you, until Murphy stopped contacting you, and there was no way you could get a hold of them by yourself.
Days were passing and you were going crazy with worry. You were brokenhearted too, but you were too scared to properly feel the heartbreak at how you seemed to have lost Murphy.
It was another day of worry, anxiety, and sadness, when you got a call from Aine telling you to turn on the news on tv, and as you did so, your heart seemed to leap to your throat.
Murphy and Connor, along with an older man, seemed to have taken over a courtroom in which one of those big mob bosses they wanted to hunt was being judged. They were aiming their guns around, saying something that you couldn’t make, and then they were shooting the man dead, before the news stopped broadcasting.
You gasped, your heart beating so fast you thought you were going to faint. They had killed that man there, in cold blood…and you might not argue that he, indeed, deserved it, but what was going to happen now? Sure the twins were about to get arrested and judged for all the murders…
You knew there was no way of contacting them and so instead you watched the news, hoping they would cover whatever was happening, hoping that Murphy would contact you somehow, yet knowing he wouldn’t…
Soon things turned out messy for you too, when the police found pretty quickly that you had been dating Murphy MacManus and you were relentlessly questioned, but you thought that it was almost worse when the press found out and tried talking to you, which you avoided as best as you could.
You still didn’t know where the hell were the brothers or what had happened to them. The police seemed to think they were on the run, hiding, and it made sense, but…what if the mafia had gotten to them? They could very well be dead…
Your fear just increased when you found out Rocco, who’d gone missing before the MacManus, had been tortured and killed by the mafia…that could very well had happened to the MacManus too…
Because otherwise, why was Murphy not contacting you? Maybe he couldn’t…maybe it was not safe…maybe he didn’t care, it wasn’t like you two had been talking much since he started hunting mafia, and every time you two spoke, it ended in arguments about it.
But still…a heads-up on what he was going to do would have been nice…and a call to tell you that he was okay…
So you were afraid, you were worried…but you were sad and bitter too, brokenhearted, you couldn’t help it.
It was a few days later, that you got a phone call.
“Hello?” You answered the phone, wary that it might be the police or the press.
“Hey…” That voice…his voice.
“Murphy…are you safe?!”
“Aye…aye, we’re fine.” Fine? Fine after everything that had happened? Fine when you were feeling broken? Your bitterness began to step over your worry.
“Fine?! What the hell is going on?!”
“We, uh…I bet ye saw the news, aye?” He answered…was he joking, when you felt like your heart was breaking with worry and sorrow?”
“Yes I saw you and your brother murdering a man on his knees,” you hissed.
“He got it comin’!” Murphy snapped. “Ye knew who he was, right? He deserved worse!”
“So you had to do it in front of all those people?! On live television?!”
“Aye, we didn’t get another chance, and it sent the message, that was important.”
“Important enough to show yours and your brother’s face as the killers wanted both from the police and the mafia.”
“Aye…we can’t show our face again, for a long while at least,” Murphy said…so, you were not seeing him anymore?
“Why you didn’t tell me anything?”
“There wasn’t time, we got lot’s to plan for, and ye know how Connor gets ‘bout plannin’...” Murphy huffed. “And we didn’t wanna involve ye, gettin’ ye in the eye of the mafia and the police.”
You pinched the bridge of your nose. “Don’t you think it was a bit late for that? They found out already that I was involved with you, it was not that hard! Hell, it took a couple of days for the local tabloid to print a column about ‘the woman who loved the Saints’” You hadn’t yet shown your face anywhere after that.
“Oh, we saw it…Connor found it funny ‘cause they wrote as if ye were with the both of us or some shit,” Murphy said, sounding annoyed, as if it had the right.
“Point is…they know who I am anyway.”
“Aye…but ye don’t know where we are, ye know nothin’ of our plans-”
“Oh, so if I knew, you think I’d just rat you out?” You snapped, hurt.
“I…I didn’t mean that…” Murphy sighed. “Ye, uh…there’s police watchin’ over ye, aye? In case those mafia assholes try somethin’?”
“Uh…yes, how did you know?” Since you had been treated mainly as a suspect, you hadn’t expected it, but after your name hit the tabloids, someone called detective Duffy had told you that you were getting protection in case the mafia might want to use you to get to the Saints.
“I imagined it,” Murphy said after a moment, and you thought he was lying, but he just seemed to be hiding so much, what was another lie.
“Where are you, Murphy?” You asked instead.
“We’re in Ireland.”
“Ireland?!” You knew they were on the run but hadn’t imagined they had gone all the way to Ireland.
“Aye…told ye, we had to go hiddin’...da’ thought Ireland was our best shot and he still got contacts so-”
“Dad? That man on the tv with you both was your dad?!” You were feeling dizzy at so many things happening in a short period of time.
“Oh…aye, aye he is!”
“But…how?” You knew he’d gone missing when the twins were babies.
“It’s a long story but-”
“But you’re not going to tell me,” you snapped, bitter, you couldn’t help yourself.
“I don’t have much time... I thought ye were pissed ‘cause I didn’t tell ye anything’, now I call ye and yer still pissed anyway?” Murphy snapped back, which just upset you more.
“Why you even bothered calling me now?”
“I’m startin’ to wonder it myself,” Murphy huffed and you wouldn’t admit that it hurt.
“Well, don’t let me have you be late for killing the Irish mafia,” you joked bitterly.
“Nah, we’re not doin’ that…for now at least,” Murphy answered.
“So, what’s Connor’s plan, then?”
“It’s not only Connor doin’ the plannin’ always, I help too!” Murphy snapped…you knew it, and you had known it’d make Murphy snap so you’d said it. It was petty but you didn’t care.
“Sure…so what?”
“No killing…da’ got us a cabin, there’s nothin’ around, we got some sheep…”
“Sheep.” This conversation kept getting more and more surreal. “What the hell do you or your brother know about sheep?!”
“We’ll learn!” Murphy snapped, defensive.
“So, that’s the plan, you and your brother hide with your dad and become shepherds?”
“I…aye, I guess…” Murphy sounded unsure and it was not reassuring at all.
“For how long?” There were a million things you wanted to ask, but you settled for that.
“Dunno, but…told ye, it’s gonna be a long while before we can show our face…” Yes…forever, maybe…how long would take people to forget about them, what they had done, their faces?
“Yes…so, that’s it, we’re not seeing each other again.”
“It’s not…didn’t say that, just…aye, not for a while, I guess…dunno yet…things are complicated now…”
“No shit!” You would rather snap than cry, and you were feeling like crying forever.
“Why’re ye always so angry!” Murphy snapped back. “It’s not like we wanted to have to go hiding! But the mission is important! We’re doing God’s work! We’re freeing the world of evil! But yer always mad and acting like we’re wrong”
“I already explained why, you can’t get it, I won’t try again,” you said, sad and bitter. “Come on, go back to your sheep then.”
“Aye…aye, I think I’ll name the meaner one after ye.”
“Whatever, Murphy,” you scoffed. You expected him to snap again, but he just sighed.
“Look, I…I really gotta go.”
“Yes, sure-”
You hadn’t even finished the sentence and he’d already hung the phone.
You couldn’t say you wouldn’t cry because of Murphy, because you were already crying, even if you felt stupid.
* You wanted to act like you didn’t care, like this was it, you and Murphy were done, and there was no point in trying to change it, it was impossible by now…but you couldn’t, and not even 24 hours had passed since you had last talked to him, that you had tried contacting him again, only to find that he had called you from a phone booth and so you couldn’t locate him or find a number to phone him
He didn’t call again. You waited, days passed, and Murphy never phoned again.
Quite out of the blue, though, and rather unexpected, one day you found a postcard in your mailbox. It had no address, and it featured a herd of sheep in which you assumed the Irish countryside. All the sheep seemed peaceful but one, who was snapping at another. Written with a marker next to the sheep was your name. Murphy…Murphy had sent this. You scoffed at it, and you called yourself an idiot when you stick it to your fridge with a magnet.
There were no phone calls from Murphy, but every few months you would get a postcard with no address or anything written but seeming to show different landscapes of Ireland.
As time passed, though, the postcards were getting scarcer, until it was two a year, for Christmas and your birthday. You knew that it was for the best. You had to move on, forget Murphy, but it was easier said than done.
Still, years passed, and you moved on with your life.
*
Eight years after Murphy left for Ireland, you were reminded of him, not that he had completely left your mind, in an awful way when the news reported a local priest murdered in the same way that the MacManus used to kill their mafia victims.
You were confused, you didn’t know what was going on…but one thing you knew, the brothers hadn’t done it, they would never kill a priest…unless the priest had done something evil in secret? It might be…or maybe he hadn’t, and the brothers had just turned into full murderers, you had known nothing of them in years…but that didn’t sound right to you.
Besides…weren’t they in Ireland?  Maybe they were back? You couldn’t believe that after eight years, you’d still be a little hurt thinking that Murphy might be back and he wouldn’t contact you…but why would he?
Still, you didn’t think the murderer of the priest were the MacManus, no matter how it had been framed…they might very well still be in Ireland with their sheep…
Or maybe not, since a few days later, while you were running errands, you saw them on the street…they looked older, a bit different, but you’d recognize them in a second.
You were frozen, staring at them, a whirlwind of different thoughts and emotions stirring in you, and then, the brother’s eyes found you.
They seemed frozen too, but you were getting closer, and you realized that, somehow, you were walking to them. Once you were in front of them, you three just stared at each other, while Connor cast a nervous glance around as if afraid you might draw attention.
“Was it you? The priest?” You had a million things you wanted to say, and nothing at the same time, your brain felt fogged, and that was the first thing that came out of your mouth.
“Ye think we did it?” Connor sounded outraged. No, you didn’t think so, but you just shrugged. “Of course we didn’t! That’s why we had to come back! Gonna find whoever did it and put it on us.” So, they had just come back…had they really been herding sheep for eight years? You couldn’t picture them. “Look, Y/N, sorry, but we gotta rush,” Connor said, looking around again, while Murphy was still staring at you in silence.
“Five minutes,” Murphy finally said to his brother. “I’ll catch up to ye.”
The brothers looked at each other for a brief moment, while you were still feeling rather dumbfounded, before Connor nodded curtly. Murphy gestured towards a nearby alley, and you found yourself following him.
You were following Murphy, unsure of what you wanted to do or to say, or if you should just walk away, you were a mess of shock and confusion, when suddenly, Murphy was turning around and wrapping his arms around you to hug you.
“I missed ye, love…”
The hug felt warm and familiar, and you struggled out of it. You wanted to sob and also to yell at him. He couldn’t just ignore you for eight years after the way in which he left, and then hug you as nothing.
As you moved away from his arms, Murphy looked at you like a kicked puppy, but he had no right…you had known nothing of him for eight years besides a postcard here and there, and he had the gall to say that he missed you?
“You missed me? That’s why you disappeared like that, for eight years in which you never called or anything again?” You felt the hurt in your heart as if eight years hadn’t passed. “Don’t you dare to say that.”
Murphy looked down at that, still looking like a kicked puppy but also guilty, and he shrugged. “Last time we talked…it didn’t look like ye wanted me to call ye again.”
You scoffed, shaking your head. “So we argued once and you decided not to talk to me ever again? Nice. I had no way to contact you, Murphy! No address, no phone number, nothing!” All your pent-up anger and heartbreak were back.
“It was’ safe, ye know it,” Murphy said, finally looking at you. “We couldn’t have police or mafia getting a chance to track us…not ‘cause we think you’d rat us,” he said before you could snap. “But we didn’t want to risk it and draggin’ ye into the mess.” Yes, as if you hadn’t been dragged into the mess already, with all the questioning from the police and the press trying to pray into your relationship with the MacManus.
“You could have told me that.” Even if you could have guessed something like that, it’d have been nice to hear. “Even if just once, you could have told me that, told me that we were over, instead of just acting like I didn’t exist anymore when you knew I couldn’t contact you again...but you just disappeared…” You were feeling like crying and you hated it, it made you feel weak and silly.
“I sent ye the postcards…” Murphy said, eyes down again, and you snorted.
“Yeah, well, at least that was a way of knowing you were alive and not arrested or murdered by the mafia,” you commented…you had still cared, no matter what.
Murphy nodded. “Detective Duffy, the one who put ye on protection in case mafia came for ye?” He said and you nodded, it’d been years, but you remembered it too well, it’d been scary. “He’s a friend, he helped us, so I told him to help ye…so I knew ye were safe too…”
“Okay…” You muttered, nodding as you looked down, you were still hurt.
You felt Murphy’s hand taking yours, and part of you wanted to pull away, but you didn’t move. “I’m sorry I dragged ye into this, I didn’t mean to,” he said and you knew it was true but you just shrugged. “And I’m sorry I didn’t talk to ye in all these years but…things were complicated…”
“I get it…” You tried to swallow the lump in your throat. “No, you’re right…everything was a mess, it wouldn't have worked out…” Still, you wished he hadn’t disappeared in the way he did.
Murphy was still looking at you like a sad puppy and you didn’t know what else to do or to say…you didn’t even know what to feel.
“I have to go back to Connor,” Murphy said and you nodded…so, that was it, the last time you saw him. At least this time you knew it was the last time…you wondered if it might bring closure…you just felt awful anyway.
You nodded, letting go of his hand, but he just took yours again, looking at you intently.
“Y/N…I know ye don’t believe me and I know I hurt ye, but  I missed ye, and I’m sorry at how things went, I’m sorry I hurt ye, I’m sorry ‘bout this eight years,” he told you, and part of you wanted to believe it while another part didn’t want to…he’d always been so childish but he looked so serious now, like he really meant it… “Right now, it’s what Connor said, we gotta find whoever killed that priest, and I don’t know what’s gonna happen…but if things go well…can I call ye when it’s over? Can I talk to ye again?”
No. You shouldn’t let yourself get dragged into this again… But you just nodded.
“Okay.”
“Really?” Murphy smiled, and how could you have forgotten how damn beautiful he was when he smiled. It was almost unfair. “Okay…okay, give me a few days, I gotta go back to Connor, but when we fix this? I’ll call ye, for real this time.”
You just nodded again and Murphy grinned, before looking around. “Gotta go, we talk soon.” Another nod from you, another smile from him, and then he was rushing away towards where Connor had gone.
You didn’t want to have hope…you knew you shouldn’t…and yet…
* You tried to pay more attention to the news to see if they said something about the MacManus. That’s how a couple of days later, you found out about the shooting and the brothers being detained.
It was bad, but at least they were alive. You tried to content yourself with that…you still worried, though, not knowing what was going to happen to them…and you were surprised at all the support the Saints seemed to be getting, with people even asking for them to be released. Turned out those two had become famous…you just wanted them safe, even if you hadn’t known anything of them for eight years.
A day later, you got a phone call from the prison.
“Hey.” Murphy’s voice, weak and tired, but his voice. “Told ye I’d call ye…things didn’t really go as expected though…”
“I bet.” Why were you feeling like crying? You were silly. “How are you even allowed to call me?”
“One of the guards seems to be a fan,” Murphy said as if nothing. “He’ll delete the number, don’t worry, nobody will know I phoned ye, he made sure there’s no recording either.”
“Okay…are you and Connor alright?”
“Aye…bit battered but we’ll be fine.”
“And are you safe? They said there’s mafia on that prison…”
“Aye, I bet they wanna take our heads,” Murphy said and you didn’t know he could sound so uncaring. “But we’ll be fine.”
“Murphy, that doesn’t sound safe at all.”
“We can take care of ourselves…besides, we’re not gonna be here for long.”
“What?”
“We got some friends, inside and out, they’re gonna get us out of here,” Murphy told you. “Don’t know how or when yet, but we know they’ll help us out.”
“That…doesn’t sound safe either…” They could be caught or anything worse…
“We’ll be fine, love, told ye,” Murphy said again. “We’ll get out of here and we gotta disappear again…but this time I’m not disappearing from your life like I did before, I’ll contact you once we’re out of here.”
You shouldn’t believe it…but you did. You should tell him not to do anything reckless…but you didn’t. You didn’t think he’d have listened anyway.
“Just…just be careful… and if you can’t call me again, I…it’s okay, I get it.” You sighed sadly, but you did get it…things were even a bigger mess now.
“I’ll call ye, I promise…gotta go now, next time we speak, my brother and I will be out of here.”
“Okay…take care…”
* For little more than a month, you knew nothing of the MacManus. There was nothing on the news, thankfully, and you didn’t get more from calls.
Next, one night, your phone rang.
“Hey, love, told ye I’ll call ye.”

So...this was not very good. But I hadn’t written in a long time and it got me weeks just to write this since it seems I barely feel like writing, so I’ll take it.
I’m sorry that I couldn’t do justice to the request.
Please, if you enjoyed this, let me know your thoughts in a comment, and as always, reblogs are more than welcome.
As always, excuse my English, it’s not my first language.

Acting Different
Tumblr media
Warnings: jealousy, possessive behavior, swearing, alcohol, angst, fluff, mentions of smut
The bar was quiet tonight. Very few were here as little drinks were given out. The people who stood out were probably you, Romeo, and the infamous Macmanus brothers. Murphy was the one who you were most comfortable around. Ever since moving into town you had searched for a few spots near your apartment to hang out. And this bar “McGinty’s” was it, the friendly people and nothing but laughter in the atmosphere. It pulled you into the place with comfort and the one night you met the killer trio. Connor, Murphy, and Romeo very interesting to say the least. Despite their intimidating appearance they were just charming fellows who wanted to have fun. The introduction was pretty funny as they approached you all at once. Connor to your right, Romeo to the left, and Murphy over your shoulder. They playfully flirted and were asking all kinds of questions.
It was fun to have their attention. Soon you were walking home with one of the brothers. Murphy. He was incredibly handsome and kept your attention on him all night. This went on for weeks with him walking you home. But soon you invited into your home and ended up with him between your legs. Your relationship with him was strictly fun and he specifically said that you both were allowed to be with other people. While you really wanted to be serious, you just accepted it since you didn’t want to stop seeing him. You remember walking down the sidewalk of the city and saw him with another girl. He was smiling and you could see her laughing. It bothered you but you didn’t speak about it the next him he came over, instead you just distracted yourself with Romeo. He wasn’t exactly your type but he knew how to have fun.
Romeo asked you out and invited you to a night at the bar. Eagerly you excepted his offer and let him lead you to McGinty’s. Everyone was drinkng and laughing. It was all comfortable. Romeo went off to grab a couple beers for you to enjoy with him. Soon you saw Connor and Murphy walk in with girls on their arms. You smiled in their direction as a greeting. The boys waved and made their way to sit next to you and Romeo. Connor and his date was full of life as they talked you guys up and drank like it was nothing. Murphy’s date was all chatty but Murphy himself was acting all timid not normal at all. You got up to use the restroom and got cut off my Murphy.
“What are you doing?”
“Nothin’ lass. So, Romeo. Whatcha think of em’?”
“Well he’s nice.”
“Really? I think he’s kinda a dick.”
“What?”
You laugh at disbelief of his words. Especially since he treated him like family.
“You know, he’s just kind of a jerk. Don’t seem like yer type.”
“Why are you acting this way? He’s your friend isn’t he?”
“Yeah, but seeing you with him is pissin’ me off.”
“You said we weren’t serious so when he asked me out I said yes. Besides there’s a girl out there waiting for you.”
“I know what I said but-“
“I don’t care what you say, you made the rules. And I’m simply following.”
Murphy sighed and looked around. You were confused as you crossed your arms.
“Anyone behind me?”
“No but-“
You were cut off by his kiss. You instinctively kissed back but you try to push him off. He didn’t move as he kissed your neck.
“Murph stop. We have dates.”
“I don’t care. C’mon let’s leave. We can go anywhere ya want.”
“No! I came here with Romeo, therefore I’m leaving with Romeo.”
You pushed him on his chest to back off and went back to the bar top.
“How about we play some pool boys?”
You asked as you began feeling tipsy. The game began with Romeo and you being partners along with your opponents, Murphy and his date. The game was friendly but soon became very competitive with Romeo and Murph. They began swearing uncontrollably and making smart remarks.
“Okay one more shot. Then I win you asshole.”
“Aye, keep talking shit you short prick.”
“Y/N, c’mere. How bout a kiss for good luck.”
Romeo said with a smirk and you happily obliged by letting him pull you by the waist. His lips going for a quick peck and you had to admit it felt nice. He smiled and went to make his last shot.
“Fuck yeah! In your face bitch!”
Romeo continued to cheer on until Murphy threw a bottle at him. You gasped as it nearly hit him and rush over to Murphy to yell at him.
“What’s up your ass tonight! You’ve been nothing but quiet and when you do somehow finally muster up some words you’re just a dick!”
Murphy stayed quiet and smirked out of amusement when you stomped off. Romeo wasn’t going to let him off easy as he rushed over to get in his face. They had a few seconds of bullshit before starting hitting one another. Of course Connor and other men went to pull them off each other.
“Fuck ye! You prick!”
Murphy yelled at Romeo as you held him back. You were in disbelief and decided to leave the bar with Romeo. Eventually he calmed down after walking you home. You invited him to stay but he stayed for only one drink and left. You stayed up and stared at your ceiling. You couldn’t help but regret not slapping Murphy in the face. He was just such a jerk tonight. Then your phone began ringing, you didn’t feel like getting out of bed to answer. The answering machine picked up for you.
“Aye, lass. Can I pop by for a bit? I wanna talk…”
You just roll your eyes as you hear the message but then the message kept going.
“I’ll just call back or stay on here until ya pick that phone love.”
He kept going on and on for the next few minutes but yoh couldn’t take it anymore. So you finally get up to answer the phone.
“Would you shut up!”
“There’s my love. So you gonna let me come over?”
“Depends. Have you stopped acting like a douche?”
“Guess you’ll have to find out.”
You agreed to have him come over after he convinced you in that charming accent. Time passed slowly as you awaited for a knock on your door. You jumped lightly at the noise and go answer.
“Nice pajamas love.”
“Well I wasn’t exactly expected company at three in the morning.”
“Yeah yeah, so you gonna invite me in?”
You nodded as you made room for him to get through the doorway. You went lock the door as you heard him sit on your couch.
“So you wanted to talk?”
“Yeah. About us.”
You couldn’t stop the sinking feeling that came over you at his words.
“What about us?”
“Y/N. I like ye a lot. Maybe even more than I should.”
“So what does that mean?”
“I want us to be serious.”
“I’m sorry. You want to do that?”
“Yes.”
You began laughing and could tell Murphy wasn’t amused by your reaction.
“Hey! This ain’t fuckin’ funny.”
“It is though. Murph you’re a ladies man and I know you probably got tons of girls in your phone.”
“Alright, here. Delete them.”
He throws his phone into your lap and has a wide stare at you now. Wow.
“For real? You want me to get rid of all these girls in your contacts?”
“Yeah, fuckin’ do it. Except ‘Shortcake’ that’s my fav.”
“Are you serious! You can’t be with me and another girl idiot!”
“But you’re ‘Shortcake’. I just like the name and well it’s my favorite dessert.”
You didn’t say much after but blushed. Murph leaned over your shoulder and watched you delete number after number. You thought to yourself if he is willing to do all this, then it’s worth a shot. You laughed a bit and saw how small his contact list was afterwards.
“I’m new to this relationship shit. So in the future will you please be patient with me love?”
“I’ll try.”
You say with a smile and had Murphy kiss your forehead.
“We probably should sleep right?”
“Yeah.”
You woke up with your face buried in Murphy’s chest as he was still snoring. You smile and lay against him to enjoy the closeness. You felt so comfortable and giggled as he stirred in his sleep. His arms pulling you closer and his face burying into your neck. Your hand played with his short hair as he continued to slumber. You moved carefully out of his hold and go to shower. It had been a long night of discussing the details of your new relationship. The heat of the water began steaming up the bathroom as you washed your hair. You smiled at the thought of being able to finally call Murphy your boyfriend, lover, or partner. Well whatever suited him best and why not all of the above. As the water soaked your hair to rinse out the suds, you heard the shower curtain open. You chuckle to yourself as Murphy engulfed you into his arms from behind.
“Morning lass.”
“Morning love.”
You say as he held you securely. He lightly kissed your shoulder and you whimpered as he sucked to leave a hickey. Your arm reached to get his fingers in his hair. He smirked and used his hands to turn you towards him. You slowly brought your hands to his back and pulled him to pin you against the shower wall. He smirked and kissed your down your neck and you hummed at the sensation of his soft lips.
“Fuck you’re all I been thinkin’ about love.”
He growls between kisses. You couldn’t stop the noises he made come out of you as he continued marking you up. Little hickies and bite marks covered your skin.
“Aye. Look at that all mine lassie.”
He says all cocky before claiming your lips with his. You groaned into his kiss and felt his hands going to hold your face as if you were the most precious thing to exist. Your own palms go onto his shoulders as he completely dominates you.
“You know my original mission was just to shower. But then you come in all horny.”
“You expect me to hold back love. You were outta bed and I wanted to see ya.”
You just rolled your eyes and rinse the sex off your body before turning off the shower. You threw on your robe as Murphy slipped a towel on his waist. He sat onto the bed and waving at you to join him but you heard someone knocking on your door.
“Fuck em’ c’mere love.”
“Tempting but let me see who this is real quick.”
He frowned and threw his arms behind his head as you went to answer the door. Murphy being impatient he just followed behind.
“Who is it?”
“It’s Romeo.”
You smiled and opened up the door to see him. Murphy frowned and gave a dirty look as he put an arm around your waist to pull you towards him.
“What’s up?”
“I left my wallet here.”
“Oh sure, c’mon in.”
Murphy kept his hold on you and even took it a step further as he held you from behind. He even kissed behind your ear. Romeo just quickly moved as he found that he was interrupting something.
“Don’t worry, I’ll let you guys get back to your little mating session. Also we’re going out again tonight, so I better see you two at McGinty’s.”
“Sure thing.”
You say as he makes his exit. Murphy never stopped the ridiculous banter and made a statement with his actions.
“Are you fucking five?”
“Obviously not love.”
“Then why are acting like there’s competition?”
“Cause he was here and he was your fuckin’ date last night.”
“It wasn’t serious remember besides you’ve made it clear that I’m yours. So don’t get all alpha male again.”
“I’ll try.”
You giggled as he lifted you into his arms and kissed you.

-----
Tumblr media
You watched his dark blue smoldering eyes flit over and focus on you. He looked over at you like he was angry, licking his lips as he tipped up his double shot glass, signaling for a refill. You walked over to him, from behind the bar, trying to control the butterflies in your stomach that his stare always created.
Murphy Macmanus.
He was a regular here at McGinty's, at least that is what people had told you when you started a few weeks ago. You were a new bartender, hired so that Doc didn’t have to be behind the bar and could focus on the other day to day duties of running a bar.
You had been attracted to him since the very first day you had met him. Something about the look in his eye when he looked at you that completely put you off your logical axis. You felt his eyes on you night after night as you adjusted to the new job. A few times he had offered to help you with the boxes and crates you brought in from the back. You tried to remain professional and every time told him, “No thank you.” And with a polite smile, you would endure the heavy lifting on your own.
Tonight, was no different. Just like every other night, there he was at the same barstool he always sat at with his brother Connor who was also notorious around these parts.
You walked up to him and with a deep breath of courage you asked, “Can I get you anything else?”
Murphy looked at Connor and laughed a little and then turned his smirking face back to yours. He looked you in the eye as he replied with that easy, charming smile of his.
“Well, if you’re offerin’…” he said with another smirk and tilted his shot double glass towards you again, his eyes never wavering from yours.
You smiled, laughing a little nervously as you looked down and focused on pouring him another double shot.
Connor tilted his double shot glass in front of you as well and you poured him a refill as well, trying to avoid Murphy’s eyes on you.
You set the bottle down next to them and went to work cleaning the bar off with a rag, trying to ignore the piercing eyes of the man who had been setting your thoughts on fire lately. Every so often you stole a glance over at him as you went about cleaning and noticed his eyes were always on you.
Every time your eyes met his he smiled, running his fingers upon his lower lip as he fixated on you before re-focusing on what his brother was saying.
Every time this happened your heart felt like it was electrocuted. You had to force your eyes and mind back to your task at hand. You needed this job. Still, this man brought out something in you that you just couldn’t seem to shake. Something intense like you had never felt before.
You walked over to a table across the room and served a couple of guys their mugs of beer. When you turned to walk away you felt one of their hands come up and put it on your ass. You looked down at his hand on your ass and then looked back over at him with a silent glare.
He laughed, keeping it on your ass deliberately for another few seconds before dropping it. He raised his hands in the air as he laughed easily over at you.
“Sorry, darlin’. My hand slipped,” he said as he looked over at his buddy with a chuckle.
“Sure,” you said, glaring at him with pure anger for another few seconds before composing yourself.
You smiled politely back at the assholes and turned around to walk back towards the bar.
You heard the man whistle slowly as you walked away, feeling his eyes on you again as you walked back behind the bar. You started to wipe down the bar, trying to tune out the two men’s laughter when you heard Murphy speak.
“Ya know ya don’t have to put up with that, lass. We could take care of ‘em for ya,” Murphy said, looking over at his brother with anger in his eyes before returning them to you.
You shrugged and continued to wipe the bar down, walking closer towards the two brothers, on the other side, as you did.
“It’s fine,” you said, trying to convince yourself of your words and push down the pure insulted anger you were feeling.
You looked over at their two empty shot glasses and brought the bottle back to them, refilling them.
Connor nodded silently and cheers’d you before downing his.
Murphy looked over at you and smiled with appreciation at your strength as you filled his glass.
“Well, if they give ya any more trouble…Ya let us know. Alright?” he said.
He looked over at you with those dark, sincere eyes.
You smiled sweetly back at him, that sweet smile he loved so much, and nodded back to him in silent agreement.
You noticed someone else flagging you down in the packed bar and you nodded and gestured back to them. You looked back at Murphy for another split second, silently contemplating something before you pushed the bottle of whiskey towards them on the bar.
“Duty calls. Don’t get too drunk while I’m gone…” you said smirking a little as you let your mind wander for a few seconds, thinking about what it would be like to kiss this gorgeous man, before turning and walking out toward the dining area to take another order.
The rest of the night went like a blur. It was Saturday night and the place was hopping with people. You were busy clearing tables as the place started to clear out when you felt someone slap your ass. You turned back and noticed it was the same asshole who had groped you earlier.
Little did you know Murphy was watching your every move and had noticed this transgression. He nudged Conner and they both got up and spun around off their barstools in unison, walking over to you and the two men. Connor nodded to the rest of the people as a sign that it was time to leave and they all cleared out quickly. This just left the two assholes who had been heckling and hassling you all night.
You stepped back and watched as Connor and Murphy close in on them. Before you knew what was happening Murphy’s hand was on the asshole’s throat gripping it tightly and leaning in with a look of pure anger on his face. Conner held the other one at bay, grabbing his arms and holding them tightly behind his back, nodding to Murphy when he knew he had the other man secure in his grip.
Murphy nodded back to his brother before turning his angry eyes back to the asshole in his grip.
He looked him over with angry curiosity before his face split into a dangerous smile.
“So, tell me, lad… Ya think it’s nice ta harass that good woman over there?” he asked, leaning in closer still until his forehead was nearly touching the other guy’s.
“Murphy, don’t I-“ you started only for him to hold his free hand out to you palms out to you as a sign that he wasn’t going to back down.
“We don’t let assholes get away with that shit in here, do we brother?” Murphy asked, cocking his dangerous eyes back to Connor’s.
Conner clenched his jaw and brought one hand up to the other man’s hair and gripped it tightly, pulling it back harshly and in one swift movement.
“Ahh!” the man cried out, wincing in pain as Connor glared him down with anger and alcohol running through his veins.
“No. We most certainly don’t, brother,” Connor said with a seriously angry look in his eyes.
Murphy smirked at the sight of the other man’s pain and then turned his attention back to the in his grip asshole.
“So, the question then becomes what should we do about you?” Murphy asked, tilting his head slowly to the side, never letting his glare subside.
You stood there frozen, not sure what to do, your heart pounding as you watch it all unfold.
Murphy swiftly pushed the guy back down onto the table behind him with the grip firmly on his neck.
The man’s back slammed against the small wooden table with a huge thud as Murphy pushed him down onto it. Murphy leaned down toward him as he did, seething now as he let his full anger loose.
“Ya think ya can just come in here and treat her like shit?! Well, ya got another thing coming!” Murphy yelled, his blood boiling at what he had seen from this asshole toward you.
The man raised his arms in defense.
“Look, I didn’t know she was sp-spoken for!” The man exclaimed with fear in his eyes as he pleaded with Murphy.
Murphy’s eyes grew darker and he recoiled his fist back and then propelled up into the man’s jaw.
“It’s pieces of shit like you that piss me off more than anythin’!” Murphy yelled with anger as he lowered his face down to the man’s, who was quivering now in pure fear.
“Ya think ya can just do whatever ya want to women and no one says shit! Well, that ain’t me…” Murphy growled, looking over at his brother.
“And that ain’t my brother…” Murphy said, pulling the man up to his feet again by his collar and pushed the man backward, walking into him with dangerous eyes as he continued.
“So, I suggest you and your buddy here get the fuck out of here! And if I ever see ya around here or around her again? I’ll make ya wish you were dead!” Murphy yelled pushing him back toward the door.
The man whimpered and nodded rapidly, quickly walking toward the door.
Connor tightened his grip on the other man until he cried out in pain again and then let him go, pushing him toward the exit.
You watched as the men scurried out of the bar like the rats they were in disbelief. Your heart was pounding from the adrenaline. You looked over at Connor and then Murphy in a daze. You couldn’t believe what you had just witnessed.
Murphy walked over to you, putting his hands protectively on your shoulders as he looked you over with sincere worry.
“Are ya alright, Y/N?” Murphy asked, scanning you as he tried to determine your state of mind.
You shook your head slowly a few times before you focused on the gorgeous man’s dark blue eyes.
“Uh-Yeah…Yeah…” you said, bringing your hand to your forehead and staggering back a little.
Murphy quickly stepped in and wrapped his arm around you, pulling you into him as he steadied you.
Your breath hitched as you felt the sudden impact of your body’s clashing together. You noticed how close you were to his face. His lips. His eyes. You smiled hazily up at him, forgetting for a moment what had just happened. You felt the electricity pinging between the two, the sparks radiating between you two. You shook your head again, laughing up at him as you stepped back and out of his arms a few feet, trying to steady your body and your mind.
“Yeah. I’m fine. You really didn’t have to do that. I mean it comes along with the territory of a job like this,” you said as you walked back behind the bar.
You poured yourself a shot of whiskey and downed it, wincing to yourself as it burned down your throat. You closed your eyes and enjoyed the calm it induced as you took a few deep breaths and tried to re-center yourself.
You heard the door open and shut and then heard the door being locked. You opened your eyes and noticed Murphy’s hand on the lock as he clicked it shut. You noticed his brother Connor was no longer in the bar.
Your stomach flipped at the realization that you were alone with the forbidden man you wanted more than anything. Especially now.
He slowly turned and looked at you, staying by the door as he spoke.
“I hope ya don’t mind… He had somewhere else to be and I was hoping for a pint or two before I went back upstairs,” Murphy said with a knowing smile on his lips as he watched you try and hide your happy anxiety over his presence.
He had known for a long time how you really felt about him. But he wanted you to come to him. So, he had waited as any good man would. That didn’t mean, however, that he didn’t have every urge to take you for his own every single second of every day he was around you.
“Uh. Yeah…Yeah sure…” you said, turning around to grab a mug from the counter behind you and filled it to the brim.
You turned back and noticed he was sitting at the same barstool he always sat at lighting a cigarette.
You smiled politely over at him and set the mug down in front of him.
“It’s on the house. It’s the least I could do,” you said with an appreciative smile, internally melting for what this man had done for you tonight.
“Thanks, Y/N,” he said, puffing on his cigarette a few times as he brought it to life.
You nodded and smiled politely again back to him before taking the rag back to the counter as you wiped it down for the final time tonight, trying to remain busy in his presence. You ran the rag across the bar in front of where he was sitting, focused on your task at hand when his hand softly landed on top of yours.
You looked up into his eyes, your heart jolting at the surprising contact.
“Why don’t ya sit, love? As ya can see, the place is closed for the night,” Murphy said, gesturing around the empty room around him with an easy smile before turning that delicious smile back at you.
He turned back around and rested his arms on the bar, picking up his beer and taking a swig. He never took his intense eyes off of you as he waited for you to answer him.
You felt like your whole body vibrating at the look in his eyes. You had never been completely alone with him before and without distractions, it made your lust for him so much harder to deal with. You shivered a little and looked over at him with a shy smile, shrugging.
“I guess I have a minute,” you said, trying to sound nonchalant as you turned to pour yourself a beer of your own.
You walked around the bar and sat timidly down next to him, setting your beer next to his as you awkwardly adjusted yourself onto the barstool beside his.
Murphy watched you squirming under his watchful eye with a playful smile on his lips. You were adorable.
He loved the effect he knew he had on you. You were always so cute and clumsy whenever he was around. He just hadn’t figured out yet how to get you to admit your feelings for him. He was hoping tonight was the night he finally found a way to open you up to him.
You sat straight forward, taking a sip of your beer and then setting it back down, tapping the sides of your glass nervously, not sure what to say or do next. You could feel his eyes on you as you tried to focus on everything but him.
Murphy smirked silently to himself as he finished his cigarette, letting you get comfortable with him.
After a few minutes of you both sipping your beers, you finally looked over at him with curiosity.
“You know you didn’t have to do that…before…” you said, looking him over as you wondered what kind of man would be so…good to someone. That wasn’t the world you had known, ever.
“Sure, I did,” Murphy said with the first soft smile you had ever seen on him. It was beautiful.
“I couldn’t let a man disrespect ya like that,” he said, pouring a shot and pushing it over on the bar to you.
You shrugged and took the shot glass, slamming it down your throat with ease. You slammed it back on the table and slid it back to him as you looked him over with curiosity again, the alcohol starting to loosen your lips a little.
“What?” Murphy asked suddenly a little self-conscious about the way you were looking at him.
“Nothing. It’s just…” you looked warily over at him, wondering if you should continue.
“What? Do I have somethin’…” he started dusting his face off.
You laughed, smiling over at him and shook your head.
“No. It’s just…Why do you care so much?” you asked, tilting your head as you peered curiously over at him.
Murphy huffed with another smile at your words. He poured himself another shot and downed it, looking over at you with more conviction as he answered you.
“It’s just what I do,” he said with a shrug and an easy smile.
You laughed at this.
“You save damsels in distress for a living?” you asked, laughing again as you took another swig of your beer.
He chuckled.
“Somethin’ like that,” he said with a mysterious smirk as he took another swig of his beer.
You did the same and smiled more easily over at him as you settled into each other.
“Oh, so it isn’t just me then?” you asked with a playful smile; the first one he had seen from you.
“Nah…” he said with another swig of his beer as he watched your eyes and body slump a little.
You went back to your beer, taking a few more gulps thinking maybe he really wasn’t as into you as you had thought.
He noticed the slump in your mood at his words.
“But, I’d protect you against anythin’,” Murphy said, looking over at you with truthful intensity.
You smiled over at him, feeling your heart skip a beat at his words. You could keep your heart beating faster in your chest and the butterflies returning so you decided to distract yourself.
“Well… I should probably get to work closing up,” you said, your sense of awkwardness returning to your being.
You got up off your barstool and walked back behind the bar to grab your rag.
Murphy nodded, biting his lip a few times as he contemplated his next move.
“Do ya want some help there, love?” he asked, his heart racing a little as his mind wander off to what he’d really want to help you with.
You looked over at him and smiled, shaking the hair out of your eyes as you ignored the butterflies that erupted in your stomach at his offer.
“I mean, sure…If you want to,” you said, looking over at him unsure again.
“I’d be happy to help ya,” he said with a sweet smile as he got up off of his barstool to help you.
You smiled and nodded back, watching as he turned and walked over to the jukebox. You watched as he punched in a few numbers. The music started and he raised his arms in the air, turning back to you with a childish smile.
“And how exactly is that helping?” you asked with a raised voice as you walked back across the bar and started wiping down the first table you came to.
Murphy smiled grabbing a towel off the bar before walking over to you.
“What’s life without a little music, love,” he said, with a grin before turning to the table next to you and wiping it clean.
You smiled to yourself as you watched him sing along happily with the Irish song coming out of the speakers as he helped you wipe down tables. After that was done, he helped you put up all of the chairs. When you were done with that you wiped your brow and looked over at him with an appreciative smile.
“Well, thanks for all your help tonight,” you said, standing there awkwardly again, not knowing what else to say.
“No problem. I was glad ta help,” he said, walking over to you with a smile.
You felt your body starting to vibrate again as he walked toward you, standing just a few inches from your body with his.
“So, could I walk ya home, Y/N?” he asked with a soft smile on his lips.
Your eyes widened as you looked over at him with surprised eyes at his offer.
“Ya know…Just so that I know ya got home safe,” he said with an innocent smile.
You smiled sweetly back at him, swaying back and forth as you looked up at the ceiling and thought about it.
Murphy couldn’t help but smile. You were so damn cute.
You looked back over at him, silently thinking it over. He was so gorgeous. You couldn’t help but admit that to yourself right now in this moment with him.
You slowly nodded, shrugging a little as you finally answered him, unable to deny his offer.
“Sure…” you said, smiling a little wider as you continued.
“You know…Just to make sure I’m safe,” you said with a playful smile.
“Let me just shut off all the lights and grab my purse,” you said, twirling around to walk back towards the bar.
You could feel his eyes on you as you walked away, creating an amazing buzz throughout your body. You had butterflies in your stomach as you walked over and grabbed your purse from behind the bar, thinking about the things that could happen tonight. You put the strap over your shoulder and grabbed your keys from inside of it. You walked back over to him, nudging your head to the side as you walked toward him.
“Come on,” you said in a nervous whisper, your eager eyes giving you away for just a second before you turned and walked to the door.
You opened it and gestured for him to exit.
He smiled over at you and walked toward the door. He walked over to you, standing just inches away from you and looking you over, just long enough for you to shiver and your eyes to go hazy for him.
He smiled that dark smile you loved so much and then stepped outside.
You took a deep breath, trying to regain your composure as you stepped outside and pulled the door shut. You took your key and pushed it into the lock, locking it shut. You took another breath, silently reminding yourself to stay calm before turning and facing him again.
You looked up at the dark sky, illuminated only with the streetlight above you. It was softly drizzling out. You winced a little as you looked up, the water starting to cover your face.
“Here, love.”  You heard Murphy say.
You looked over at him and smiled sweetly as you watched him pull up the one side of his trench coat and invite you under it.
You quickly shoved the keys in your purse and walked over to him. You ducked under the trench coat, allowing him to pull it over your head and keep you safe from the rain. You looked up at him with a surprised smile at his actions as the rain dripped down onto his coat and him.
“Thanks,” you said with another smile.
“Come on. It’s just a few blocks this way,” you said, trying not to get lost in the image of the rain dripping down onto that beautiful face of his as he looked at you like you were the only thing in the world to him.
You ignored the butterflies that fluttered through your stomach at the sight and forced your eyes and attention forward. You lead him three blocks down to your apartment building.
He held his coat over you as you reached back into your purse and pulled your keys out again. You quickly found the right key and stuck it into the lock, unlocking it and quickly running inside.
You shivered with relief at the dry warmth that hit you when you entered the building, looking out at the rain as it now pounded heavily down onto the pavement of the city streets.
You wrapped your arms around yourself, shivering as you ran your hands up and down your arms, trying to warm yourself.
Murphy noticed and took his coat off. He walked over and put it around your shoulders.
You looked up at him with a sweet smile at his actions, getting lost in his eyes as he smiled back at you and wrapped the warm coat around you.
“Come on, lass, let’s get ya dried off,” Murphy said with a smile.
You nodded back and led him up to your apartment, walking up one flight of stairs to the second floor and to your door. Murphy followed behind you, a little closer than usual. You got to your door and grabbed your key, pushing it in the lock and unlocking it. Your heart started to race as you pushed the door open and walked inside.
You walked into your dark apartment, flicking on the light at the side of the door as you did. You dropped your keys off on the table next to the door and walked inside. You heard the door close behind you and slowly turned around to face Murphy with nervous anticipation, not sure what to expect now.
Murphy looked over at you, biting his lip as he smiled at you with a slightly nervous smile of his own on his lips.
He shook his hair out, shaking the rainwater off of it and off of his face.
“That sure came up quick, huh?” Murphy said with an innocent smile.
You noticed he was soaking wet from the rain.
You tried to ignore how amazing he looked right now. He was soaking wet which meant you could see through his white t-shirt to his gorgeous sculpted body underneath it.
You were staring at him with pure desire, lost in the sight when you heard Murphy clear his throat.
You quickly looked up into his eyes with a sheepish smile.
He smiled back with amusement and a raised eyebrow. He walked over to you, putting his hands on the sides of your body, looking seriously into your eyes this time.
“Do ya like what ya see then, lass?” Murphy asked, with a small confident smile.
You bit your lip and looked up at him as you nervously nodded.
He smiled sweetly over at you, bringing his hand up to softly caress your cheek with his thumb.
“It’s alright, Y/N. Ya don’t have to be scared of me, ever,” Murphy said with sincerity in his eyes.
You looked into his eyes and nodded, smiling a little at his words.
“Sorry, it’s just been a long time since I’ve been with someone. I guess I’m just nervous,” you admitted, shrugging a little as you opened up to him.
Murphy smiled a soft smile and nodded his head in understanding. He then wrapped his other arm around your waist and slowly pulled your body into his. Now his hand was cupping the side of your face, your lips just inches apart from each other’s.
“Why don’t I  lead the way,” Murphy said and slowly pushed his lips to yours.
He pressed his lips softly to yours a few times and then pulled back to look back into your beautiful eyes.
“Is that alright?” he asked ever so sweetly.
You had never seen him so soft with anyone before, not even you after all this time. It made your heart melt as he took his time getting to patiently know you. You smiled and nodded back, dropping his coat on the floor and placing your hands on his hips.
“Yeah. That’s alright,” you said, your smile widening as you looked deep into his eyes.
“Kiss me again?”  you asked with your big eyes.
“Ya ain’t gotta ask me twice, love,” Murphy said with a smile.
He brought his hand to the back of your neck while the other arm wrapped around you scooped you as far into his body as he could. He stared you down for a moment, watching as your breath hitched and your eyes gave way to your desire for him. He loved every second of watching you slowly open up to him. He had been waiting for this moment forever. And now that it was here, he wanted to savor every sweet second of it and you.
You looked away after a few seconds, intimidated by his intense stare. You had never had anyone look at you the way this man did. Now being pressed up against him you were feeling everything you tried so hard in the past to push down.
Murphy brought his hand down to your chin, pulling it up and pulling your nervous eyes back to his.
“I can’t get over how beautiful ya are, Y/N…I’ve wanted this, you, since the minute I laid eyes on ya,” Murphy said, looking vulnerably and lovingly into your eyes as he opened up to you.
Your heart melted and your body melted against his at his confession.
Murphy felt you relax into his arms and smiled to himself. He brought his other arm down to your waist, wrapping both arms securely around your waist. He leaned back as his core melded to yours looking you over with a happy smile.
You smiled back, twirling out of his arms and outstretching your hand.
“Come on,” you said softly, beckoning him with your hungry eyes.
He smiled again and nodded, grabbing your hand and allowing you to pull him away into your humble apartment.
You ignored the butterflies in your stomach as you led him through your apartment and into your bedroom. You pulled him inside and shut the door, turning back around to face him with a shy smile, looking away after a moment.
He smiled sweetly back at you, taking the strands of hair that fell into your eyes and tucking them behind your ear. He brought his hand up to your chin and softly pulled it up again to force eyes back to his.
“It’s alright, lass. I’d never hurt ya,” Murphy said, smiling reassuringly over into your eyes.
You smiled shyly back at him and nodded.
Murphy leaned in and kissed your lips softly a few more times, bringing both of his hands up to cup your face.
“I’m gonna take such good care of ya, Y/N,” he said pushing his lips passionately back to yours.
You sighed and happily leaned up into his kiss, parting your lips for him and resting your hands on his hips.
He smiled to himself your sweet submission, loving watching you slowly falling for him. Just like he had wanted to see since the very first time he had laid eyes on you.
He kissed your top lip and then your bottom before diving his tongue inside your mouth. He grabbed ahold of your tongue and swirled it quickly around his with pure need.
You gasped a little at how intense and raw his kiss was this time, taking you in such a powerful way. You could feel in every atom of your body how much he wanted you. How much he NEEDED you.
You crashed your lips right back onto his, swirling your tongue hungrily around his with even more fervor at the feeling of him needing you so bad.
Murphy groaned happily to himself at your equal passion and wrapped his arms firmly around your body. He took ahold of your tongue and swirled it in the opposite direction, asserting his dominance over you.
You quickly ran your hands up and wrapped around his neck, pulling him into your body as you hungrily kissed him back as fully as you could this time.
He chuckled at this, biting your tongue a little before pulling his lips away from yours. He looked over at you with a happy smile, licking his lips as he looked you over with intrigue. He nudged his nose up into yours and spoke again.
“Hungry for me are ya then, lass?” he asked with a happy smirk on his lips.
You laughed a nervous laugh, looking up into his eyes with the most earnest look in your eyes that he had seen yet.
“I don’t want to pretend anymore,”  you admitted, looking up at him with a purely exposed look in your eyes.
This made Murphy smile an innocent smile himself as he brought his lips to yours.
“Let me make ya happy,” he said softly before pushing his lips back to yours for another slow, passionate kiss.
As his tongue wrapped around yours in a never-ending dance, he slowly walked you two back towards your bed.
You moaned happily, letting him walk you both backward. You swirled your tongue around his with more need as you felt your legs hit the bottom of the bed, knowing what was about to happen and craving for it now. You ran your hands up into his hair as his tongue danced around with yours with pure passion.
He abruptly pulled his lips from yours and crashed them onto the side of your neck, attacking it with his harsh kisses.
“Oh, Murphy….” you whimpered softly, closing your eyes and quickly leaning your head to the side to allow his lips more access to your soft skin.
Murphy growled and wrapped his arms even tighter around you, quickly kissing his way up to your ear.
“I love to hear ya moanin’ my name, sweet thing,” he whispered before attacking the spot just below your ear with his lips, sucking on it mercilessly.
“Oh! Yes!” you moaned loudly, gripping the back of his hair tightly and smiling to yourself at the amazing feeling his lips created.
He growled to himself, running his hands down to your ass, quickly gripping it and rocking his hard-on up and down onto your leg.
He was so hard for you it made you gasp in happy surprise at the feeling, shooting pure pleasure through you.
Murphy’s lips trailed quickly back up to your neck back to your ear, panting excitedly into it.
“Can I have ya, Y/N?” he asked, his body shaking with anticipation as he held your core firmly into his with his hands on your ass.
You nodded rapidly, all thought of anything but him inside you and his lips all over you vanishing from your mind.
“Yes, please Murphy,” you whimpered, getting so wet for him at the thought.
He gulped and nodded, trying to calm himself down. He had wanted this for so long that even just hearing you beg for him nearly sent him over the edge. He kissed your neck sweetly again and then forced his hands to separate your bodies just enough for him to be able to reach down and quickly unbutton your jean shorts.
You looked down and watched him, feeling your body completely buzzing for him. You watched him quickly pop open your button and zipper and then push your shorts to the floor, revealing your now soaked through white panties.
Murphy winced nearly in pain at the sight, looking up at you as he brought his fingers down and softly ran them up and down your wet folds over the fabric.
He glared you down as he did this.
“Is this for me?” he asked, growing even harder at the feeling of how wet you were for him.
You shivered at his touch, fighting the urge to close your eyes and moan happily at his touch. You kept your eyes glued on his and looked over at him with innocent need and nodded.
He smiled and brought his hands up to the hem of your white cotton McGinty's shirt.
He tickled your stomach a few times with a playful smile, before pulling it slowly up your body.
You lifted your arms as he pulled it off of you, dropping your hands back down, looking over at him with want, now just in your white bra and panties.
He brought his hand up and caressed your face a few times before sliding his hand slowly down to your breast, cupping it. He licked his lips and slid his other hand around your side and up your back to the clasp of your bra.
He looked back into your eyes as he unclasped it, pushing his tongue back into your mouth for another hungry kiss.
You moaned happily, wanting to wrap your arms around him and lounge into him again. But you felt his hands come up to the straps on your shoulders, so you left your arms hanging until he had pushed the bra completely off of you and to the floor. Once you were free from it you wrapped your arms swiftly around him and lunged back into his body with yours, swirling your tongue around his faster and with more urgent need.
He groaned into your mouth as you lunged at him, loving the way you wanted him. He brought his hands down to your thighs and lifted you up into the air.
You quickly wrapped your legs around his waist, pushing your lips back to his over and over again as he walked you over and softly laid you onto the bed. You let him lay you down, unwrapping your legs from his body as you slowly fell onto the soft mattress.
You giggled a little as you watched him rip off his wet white t-shirt and throw it to the floor. He looked over at you with a happy, playful smile as his hands came down and unbuttoned and unzipped his jeans. He couldn’t believe you were finally letting him take you.
He pushed them swiftly to the floor and stepped out of them, walking over to you with confidence.
You smiled to yourself as you let yourself take in how gorgeous he was. Your eyes followed your mind down his beautiful chiseled chest to his stomach. His huge cock was standing at full attention above his belly button as he walked over to you.
Murphy noticed the happy surprised look on your face as you looked him and his cock over, rubbing your thighs together as you took him in.
He walked over to the bed and took hold of his aching cock with his hand as you looked your beautiful nearly naked body over.
“So, fuckin’, beautiful,” he said as if to himself, pumping his cock a few times as he looked you up and down.
He looked down at your completely soaked through panties. His demeanor changed and he looked over at you with purely primal eyes, pumping his cock up and down as he spoke.
“Why don’t ya take those off for me, Y/N. So, I can give ya what ya need,” he growled, unable to wait any longer for the one thing he had been dreaming of for so long. You.
You bit your lip and nodded, feeling so hot and ready for him. You quickly pulled off your panties and let them fall to the bottom of the bed. You fell back onto your pillow, looking up at him with a nervous, yet happy smile at what was about to happen. You ran your fingers lightly up and down your stomach as you watched him climb onto the bed, wondering what you were in store for from this intense man.
At first, he straddled you, his hard cock throbbing against your stomach now as he grabbed your wrists and pushed them up and above you. He pinned them to the headboard, locking you in place and under his control as he brought his lips back to yours. He pushed his tongue into your mouth and devoured your tongue with his until he felt your body arch up into his and you groan happily, trying to pry your wrists off the headboard and feel his body again.
He pulled his lips off of yours and smirked down at you as you tried to feel for him, holding your wrists back with every lunge you made toward him.
“Up for the challenge are ya, then?” Murphy asked with an enthusiastic smirk as he pinned your body down with his.
You smiled happily and nodded, reaching your lips back up toward his, ghosting them as he held you back.
“Come on, Murphy. Please?” you nearly whine as you tried to reach for his lips.
Murphy smiled and nodded, letting go of your wrists and bringing his hands down and cupped your face.
“I’ve been waiting for this for a long time,” he whispered, looking you over with loving awe and then pushing his lips back to yours.
He kissed you slowly and sweetly for another minute and then shifted his body. He moved down your body, admiring it as he did and kneed his way in between your legs. He lunged forward, back over your body with his own. He pivoted all of his weight on his left forearm that was now beside the side of your head and brought his right hand down and grabbed his cock.
He groaned to himself, closing his eyes a moment and rolling his head around a few times before shooting his eyes back to yours. He said everything with that look in his eye as he started to slowly run the tip of his cock up and down your slick folds.
He clenched his jaw in amazed frustration at how wet you were already for him.
You laid there with your heart on fire and your body buzzing with anticipation, running your hands up and down his chest as he slowly pushed his cock into you.
“Ahh…” you moaned loudly at the amazing feeling of him filling you like no man ever had before. He was so big!
Murphy growled and looked into your eyes like a wild wolf as he pushed his way inside of you and simultaneously sank all of his body’s weight onto yours.
“Ohhh…” you groaned happily at the feeling of his cock and his body’s weight on top of you.
He pushed his right forearm down on the other side of your head as he sunk into you and his lips came back to yours.
He looked down at you with soft concern when he noticed a look a slight pain in your eyes as you took all of him in.
“Ya alright?” he asked.
You nodded rapidly, re-adjusting your body underneath him and running your arms up to wrap around his neck again.
“Yeah, just go slow,” you said, pulling his lips back to yours and pushing your tongue back into his mouth.
Murphy moaned happily as he felt your tongue meet his again, with just as much passion as he had inside of himself.
He swirled his tongue around yours faster and slowly started to push his way in and out of you, trying to be as gentle with you as he could. Which was hard considered how tight and wet you were. You felt fucking amazing around his big cock.
He hit your hilt after a few more hits, unable to control himself for a minute.
You cried out in pained pleasure, ripping your lips from his and arching your body up into his as you cried out for him.
Murphy wasted no time and clamped his lips back onto the side of your neck, sucking on it harshly like it seemed you liked.
He was right.
When he started to kiss your neck up and down he noticed your hips starting to rock up and down, trying to meet his.
His right hand immediately ran down and gripped your hip, wrapping your leg around his waist, and then he gripped your ass. He slowly pumped in and out of you as he worked on your neck, groaning happily to himself every once in awhile at the feeling of how wet and tight you were as he worked on you.
It worked like a charm. You stroked his hair, your eyes closed and a happy smile as you rocked back and forth together, getting wetter for him with every hit.
“Fuck! You feel so damn good, Y/N!” he groaned, speeding up his cock inside you, unable to stop now.
You moaned in happy agreement with him, running your hands down and around, wrapping them around his back. You pulled him closer to you as you ground your hips up and down with his, now loving the feeling of him speeding up inside of you.
You could feel your high building as he started to slam his cock into you, kissing on your neck whenever he could between hits.
He started to hit your spot just right and you cried out to him.
“Oh yeah…Right there!” you cried out, clinging to his body with your own for dear life now as he brought you to your high.
“Cum for me, sweet thing,” Murphy growled into your ear, slamming his cock faster and harder into your spot like you begged for.
“Yes!” you cried out in approval, rocking your pussy up and down faster onto his cock as you felt yourself rising to the most amazing high.
“Murphy…” you pleaded, rocking up and down into him faster still as you begged him to take you there.
He slammed into you as hard as he could, his heavy breathing in your ear as he gave you everything he had. The bed was moving back and forth with your bodies, the headboard slamming into the wall behind you with every new hit from his cock. He hit into you as fast and hard as he could until you came so hard all over his cock.
“Oh, fuck?!!” you cried out in confused pleasure as you felt your amazing orgasm hit you like a freight train.
“Yes!!” you cried out again as you convulsed all over his cock, feeling nothing but pure pleasure flowing through you.
You had never cum so hard for anyone before.
Murphy groaned happily at the feeling of your sweet pussy convulsing so quickly around his cock. He couldn’t hold out any longer. He pushed his cock as deep into you as could and jackhammered mercilessly into you until he slammed into your hilt and exploded deep inside you.
“Fuck, Y/N!?!” he groaned happily into your neck as his orgasm hit him and came for you.
He immediately collapsed his body down on top of yours, panting into your ear as he enjoyed his high. It felt so fucking amazing he couldn’t even describe the pure pleasure he was in.
You sighed happily at the feeling of his body on top of yours. You could feel his heart quickly beating against your chest. You brought your hand up his back and lovingly massaged the back of his head as you both enjoyed the amazing feeling you had just created together.
After a few moments of serene silence, Murphy chuckled and kissed the side of your neck, ever so slowly. He then ran his lips up to your ear and whispered into it.
“You’re so fuckin’, sweet, Y/N,” he lamented and then ran his lips back down your neck for another trail of satisfied kisses.
You smiled happily to yourself at his words and moaned to yourself as his lips began to leave more sweet kisses on your skin. You nuzzled your head lovingly into his as your hands massaged his hair and you enjoyed his lips on you again.
Murphy leaned back after a few more trails of kisses and looked deep into your eyes.
“So, tell me love…” he said, smiling sweetly down at you as he watched your lips smile at his words before locking loving eyes with yours again.
“What now?” he asked with another happy smile on his lips.
You giggled a little, smiling sweetly up at him as you ran your hands down to rest on the back of his neck.
“I don’t know. Isn’t this the part where you make up some excuse to leave and I never see you again?” you asked, only half kidding as you peered up at him, silently wondering what it is that he wanted this to be.
He didn’t let you wonder long.
He smirked at you as if you were being ridiculous, leaning over and ghosting his lips with yours.
“Are ya kiddin’? I just got ya. No way am I lettin’ ya go now,” he said and pushed his lips back to yours for another passionate kiss.
You melted into his kiss, devotedly swirling your tongue around his a few times before pulling your lips from his and looking curiously back up into his eyes.
“I’ve never met a man like you before,” you said, peering over at him with silent awe as you brought your hand to the side of his face.
He smiled down at you, nuzzling into your hand a few times before pushing his lips back down to yours. He kissed them hard and slow a few times and then looked back up into your eyes.
“And ya never will again if I have any say in the matter,” he said, kissing your lips slowly a few more times before continuing.
“If ya let me, I’ll take care of ya for as long as ya want,” he said with a sincere smile, kissing your nose and looking you over for your response.
You smiled up at him, pushing your lips to his for a few more kisses before dropping back to your pillow. You traced your fingers up and down his face, trying to memorize this moment.
“How does forever sound?” you asked him with visions of all the things you had wanted from this man for so long flooding through your mind.
Your heart pounding happily at the thought that you could actually make them a reality with this amazing man.
He smiled, silently staring lovingly into your eyes for a few moments before leaning over and whispering into your ear.
“Careful, Y/N. I just might take ya up on that…” he said and begin to cover your neck with sweet kisses again.
“I hope you do…” you sighed, wrapping your arms around him and pulling him and his lips closer into your neck again.
“I can’t wait to make ya so happy…” Murphy growled into your ear before bringing his lips back to yours and pushing his tongue dominantly back into your mouth for another amazing kiss…
That was the first night you finally let Murphy MacManus in. That was the first night of so many loving nights with the man who always protected you. That was the first night of the rest of your lives together…

We Found Love in a Hopeless Place part 20
Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all of you. I hope next year will be better for all. And even though this wasnt the best year, I'm happy because I found my inspiration once again and I hope it stays because it's much fun to write.
Thank you for reading and think this is good enough to keep reading and use your time to comment or just like it.
This is the last chapter of 2020 for this story. Read you in January 2021.
Chapter 20: Our little moments
October arrived and it was Spencer's favorito month of the year so he was happy he would enjoy it all thanks to this deal with the FBI.
The month started with the news that they wanted some classes at the academy for new students who wanted to learn how to profile.
It could be a short period during the week and on weekends he would have his seminaries at universities.
So after classes he met with Max for lunch and they went to his apartment or hers to keep working on his classes.
On Saturday they watched movies at her dad's house and have a conversation about the movie like a club.
Sammy loved it and wanted to learn more. Which make Dom very happy about it.
One Saturday Spencer saved it to teach Max's co-workers to know how to act in a shooting. He even recommend to her that she could do something special for Halloween.
She could help her students to do their costumes with boxes and painting them. Later they could modeling them for their parents.
She loved it and does it. All kids where happy and did it with enthusiasm. She was a pretty creative person but she never found good ideas for this month.
"Spence?" She said in a whisper while they were cuddling on his couch.
"Yes?"
"Why do you enjoy Halloween so much? Because you are a very logical person and who doesn't believe in things that aren't very scientific"
"Well... It started when I was younger. My mom was having troubles with the schizophrenia. I even have to learn how to cook and how to drive in order to take care of us" she looked up at him "she wasn't mentally there must of the time but when she was ok she and I watched horror movies because she wanted me to not be afraid of dracula or ghost and my brain connect happiness and a mom- son moments with her"
"So you enjoy Halloween because it reminds you to your happy memories with your mom"
"Yes. It's the same effect that serial killers have after their first murder" he looked at her and blushed when he saw her raising an eyebrow and smirking "it's a phycologist thing..."
"Ok I'll stop you right there before this goes from cute to creepy" they laughed "by the way tomorrow is my student Fashion show and I would love if you can go" she bit her lip "it's after your class"
"I would be honored to be there" she smiles and kisses him.
The next day he dressed with his best suit and went to his class at the academy. He used what he talked to Max the night before but turning the situation into a serial killer example so the students could profile it. There were some good profilers for the team.
At the end of the class most of the students did the exercise correctly so the rest will have to finish it at home.
He left the academy and went to her school to watch the show. The kids made some really good costumes with boxes and he could see their parents so proud. He had never been in that kind of situations before but it felt so nice to see their joy and the proud in their eyes watching an eight year old modeling something he made without their help.
He just saw parents after getting their kids back from hostage situations or after been kidnapped but this was so different and satisfying. Making him realized how much he wanted to be part of that group one day.
He just felt it when he had Henry in his arms or after talking with Emily about his future or not been able to fulfill his own expectations.
After the show ended he went to see Max in the backstage and some kids walked to him.
"Are you Miss Brenner's boyfriend?" Asked one of her first graders. Spencer nodded and leaned on one knee to see him face to face.
"You make her smiley" said another little girl "so don't hurt her, please?"
"Or we will kick your ass" said an older kid.
"Michael!" Said Max from behind.
"Sorry Miss Brenner" he looked down.
"Alright kids. Go to the dressing room to get your costumes and backpacks. See you next week" they nodded and left after looking again at Spencer. Max kissed him softly "sorry. They know about Mike..."
"It's ok and adorable. I never thought I would be threatened by a ten year old kid" they laughed "but I'm glad to hear that you smile more" she blushed and hit him softly.
Then they turned and saw her students smirking at them "what are you looking at? Go with your parents" they laughed and left. Spencer was laughing too "and you sir stop laughing" she said with a smile "by the way the older kids will do this next year because they loved this. I hope Miss McGinty doesn't hate me to much"
He laughed "she's the older art teacher?" She nodded "then she will"
"Ha...ha...ha... Very funny Doctor Reid" they laughed more "now let's go. It's almost lunch and I'm starving"
They left and ate at her favorite place then visited her dad where Sammy was and he asked Spencer to go with him and aunty Max to treat or trick on Halloween night. He will be Darth Vader. And of course he accepted.
On October thirty-first they went out with some of his friends around the neighborhood. Sammy was Kylo Ren, Max was Leia, some of his friends were Rey, other was Han and another was Luke.
They had fun and at the end of the night Spencer did some magic tricks while they ate pizza.
At the end the kids started to call him Uncle Spencer and he was ok with it.
November was least relaxed but he and Max found time to have some moments together. They even got everything ready for the next month to go to the wedding of his friend in New Orleans.
The hotel would be provided by his friend so they just need to buy the fight tickets and she wanted some tours.
They found a present for the couple so when December arrives they would be ready.

I had this on my mind for a while but couldn't find a good way to write it. This was a fast forward chapter so we can reach to 2018 when Linda Barnes appears.
And I was thinking about making Max one of the people telling Spencer to fight for the team or even change a little bit his conversation with Emily so she could be there.
What do you think?

At long last, it's high time for another
FOLK MUSIC FRIDAY!!
The segment on my blog for those interested to enjoy old folk tunes and discover new ones!
This week's feature is an Atlantic favourite from Newfoundland, the lament of a whaler who left his love behind at the call of the sea. Here it is from Mcginty, The Rocks of Merasheen
I still recall the fond farewell I bid her on that day
When all upon a whaling ship I went to earn my pay
From out of Rose au Rue we sailed to hunt the big fish down
We sailed upon the ocean till we sailed the world around
With girls in every port of call, I did go far astray
Forsaking her I left behind back in Placentia Bay
On the hard rocks, the rocky rocks
The rocks of Merasheen

Happy 63rd Birthday Scottish actress Siobhan Redmond, born in Glasgow on August 27th 1959.
Siobhan might not be a household name, but she has some pretty impressive credentials to her portfolio, her first roles were in comedy shows, the most famous being Alfresco in 1983 alongside an impressive line up that included, Robbie Coltrane, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Emma Thompson and Ben Elton.
More up to date shows include, Queens of Mystery, Amazon Prime series Dark Sense and the Excellent mini series Unforgotten. We last saw Siobhan last year in The Nest and Grantchester, while she returned to Queens of Mystery this year, which also starred the excellent Julie Graham.  Prior to that, there was a BBC Scotland comedy pilot, Beep, which aired in 201.
Redmond started learning Gaelic during lockdown, has also been busy with voice work, including her next television show – the second series of Born To Be Wild,.
Siobhan Redmond has also been very busy treading the boards, as a regular member of the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon, playing among others Beatrice in “Much Ado About Nothing" and in a play called ‘The Trick is to Keep Breathing’ which debuted at The Tron Theatre Glasgow, before touring all over the country and in Canada. She also starred in “Look Back in Anger” that followed a world tour in 1990 with Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson. Last year she played Ala McGees mum, Barabara in the film Creation Stories, recently she turned up in the black comedy series  Inside No. 9
Next up for Siobhan  is she’ll be joining the cast of Two Doors Down as a new series regular, although her role has not yet been revealed.
