hi just thinking about how Donald, the second he saw Marcus with Douglas, probably realized exactly what Marcus was.

because. there's a line in showdown, where Donnie goes “you were going to use kids for evil purposes.”

“were.”

keep in mind, Donald literally has seen Marcus:

- use bionics

- call Douglas “dad”

- and knows that Marcus goes to his kids school

Donald clearly knows that Marcus resembles a child, maybe he’s thinking back to when Douglas first showed off the rats, noticing the discarded blueprints for the android models, how Marcus looks too closely like it. maybe he’s thinking back to everything Leo has said, times where Marcus seemed off, or how they had this dead look in their eyes, like they weren’t alive.

just. how the moment Donald noticed that Marcus was an android, he stopped seeing Marcus as a person.

It’s kinda solidified in The Vanishing, where he doesn’t have too much of a reaction like Douglas, and his first words to Marcus was “It’s time to get rid of you for good.” (paraphrased i think). Donald stopped seeing Marcus as this kid who played the guitar in his lounge room, then as Marcus, the android Douglas made. A object, a weapon designed to take out enemies.
