Kadira's body issues are a doublewhammy. (WotR Spoilers ahead!)

Kadira spent her teenhood constantly comparing herself to succubi while living in Areelu's lab and the Midnight Isles. They depeict the overly sexual and idealized feminine form, setting an impossible standard for a mortal girl, regardless of her own fiendish hertiage. Mind, succubi know that desire and sexualization vary in the mind of the beholder and that heavier set women are forms they use often. Kadee doesn't know that nor does she need to know that.

I realized a second thing that gives her body issues. When she wakes up during the Prologue, she has Amnesia with her most recent memories being from her childhood - several years before puberty. The mental image of herself is a small waif of a girl who only had just enough to eat on her best days.

She's suddenly this tall woman in her mid 20s with knowledge and skill she didn't have as a kid. And her body has entirely changed with the vague feeling of dissatisfaction with it. It's a shock to see herself as so tall, so big and feeling so unhappy with it. She overlooks how her skin and hair have improved, how bright her eyes are, the fact she does have an hourglass figure, and how overall healthier she is now than when she was a child.

It gives this monstrous mishmash of sense of self and her body.
