The "Columbia Public Mural Project" Side No. 1 was completed over the weekend. A wide angle shot of the fire mural shows a series of imagines that represent and commemorates 150 years of fire service by the Columbia Fire Department, Tennessee. In addition to the mural, the city is currently developing plans for Firefighters Park to be located behind the mural, a key elements in the city plans to celebrate the 2018 Fire Department's 150 Year Sequential. Marking the South Garden Street gateway to the #ColumbiaArtsDistrict, the second side of the wall facing the intersection of Garden Street and Carmack Boulevard will be completed soon. Good Grit Magazine Plans a Cover Shoot in and around the Columbia Town Square Monday, March 13: Good Grit magazine recently contacted Columbia TN Mainstreet about a cover story the publication is planning featuring the City of Columbia, TN. @mikewolfe-blog American Picker is collaborating with the group who requested assistance with a photo shoot proposed for Monday, March 13, 2017, pending agreeable weather for the shoot. Also collaborating with the magazine, Columbia Main Street expressed that the shoot will be complete 10:30 a.m., beginning at sunrise. The city is providing support requested by Columbia Main Street, so that the areas shown in the attached photo slides are ready to be photographed in the morning. If you venture into Downtown Muletown tomorrow early morning, Monday, March 13, you may find yourself captured on film as you start your morning in Downtown Columbia. The City of Columbia Arts District continues to develop and grow with the announcement of the Columbia Arts Building's Retail Division Shop, the most recent news from the District. After 4 months of renovations, Columbia Arts Building owners Holly and Robert Freeman will own and operate the newest business in the #ColumbiaArtsDistrict. The Columbia arts building is located at 307 W. 11th St. The "Retail Division Shop" opens this Saturday, January 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Columbia Arts Building also begins offering classes beginning Saturday, January 21, starting with a basic photography course, and Saturday, January 29, hosting a weaving for beginners class.
