How OpenAgent works

If you don’t know what OpenAgent is, then check out my first blog post about it. I am going to release OpenAgent on GitHub soon, but before I do, I think I should explain how it works. (Warning: programming jargon ahead!)

OpenAgent uses JavaFX to display the character. JavaFX is a framework for creating GUI applications in Java (in other words, normal windows that show on the screen).

It uses Dorkbox’s System Tray for the tray icon, to ensure it appears on all systems, and either MaryTTS (the cmu-bdl-hsmm voice) or FreeTTS (the kevin16 voice) for text-to-speech.

I retrieved the animations for Peedy the parrot (currently the only available OpenAgent character) using this MS Agent decompiler. Then, I had my little brother rename the animations and string them together.

To any Java developers perusing this post: All your other questions will be answered when I release OpenAgent on GitHub in a few days.

Wait sorry for being late or bringing this up but what did Lucid do? My friend is a fan of Lucid, we were talking about it and she said she still supports Lucid or something and i said what bc ye i basically asked what Lucid did but she said she didn't do anything and called Unodum a pedo + groomer. Unodum is my idol and i never ever think about him doing such things. He is a good, kind guy and i don't think he is the abuser here AT ALL bc when i asked my friend about proof, she just tried her best to not give me any and i was curious about it. If Lucid is a bad person, I'll talk with my friend abt it bc there is no way im letting my friend support a person like them. The reason im asking you this instead of Unodum is i think Unodum has PTSD(?) i thought hm maybe they can get triggered so i just asked you instead.sgvnb so sorry for bothering you and my bad english. uno is none of those things, i think its disgusting that your friend even thinks that

lucid is the biggest fucking problem here. this is an issue that couldve been handled privately and i dont think its anyones place to be speaking on it and creating rumours like that

lucid decided that instead of sucking it up and moving on that they'd rather go whining about it over the internet like theyre a 14 year old going through a breakup, theyve even messaged me trying to paint uno has a bad person but i am certain he isnt. (i deserved all the shittalking i got lmfaoo) people i know who have known him LONGER THAN LUCID HAS have also told me they think hes great

the only thing uno struggles with is communication and from my own experience with him hes gotten better with it and i hope that he'll only improve more

i think it would really be for the best if everyone just shut up about it if you arent involved, ESPECIALLY if you are sharing it publically. it only serves to create new rumours and stress everyone out.
