Kate O'Mara once again encounters Simon Templar, and once again has a case of the doubles; here playing 'Annabel 2', either a private secretary working for a shipping magnate, or an imposter working for an imposter... in The Saint: The Double Take (6.6, ITC, 1968)

#fave spotting #kate o'mara #the rani #classic doctor who #the saint #doctor who #classic tv #the double take #1968 #itc #character actors #having been italian and french in her previous Saint eps‚ Kate gets to be english here #and whilst she was twins last time‚ now she's just a sort of lazy double of Denise Buckley (i mean they're not dissimilar i suppose.. but #nobody could easily mistake one for the other). it's all a bit of arch plotting around a fancy pants businessman who has an apparent #doppelganger that Simon must track down before he does... villainous business?#funnily enough Kate is named first in the credits despite being Annabel 2; Annabel 1 follows her #the character names presumably related to their onscreen order of appearance and their credit position related to their relative fame #kate may not yet have been a household name but she was certainly better known than Buckley‚ who had a solid career in #genre guest spots but never quite found a breakout role nor film success like Kate did
