It's been a difficult year in which I've accomplished a great deal but have struggled mentally all along the way. One of the few things that has allowed me to escape if even for a moment are comics and reading. About 2 years ago my coworkers @wadescomicmadness introduced me to a book around the time that I began training as a circus strongman that would change my life. The Strange Talent of Luther Strode became a staple of the moral compass that I already followed, but through this enhanced my already strong beliefs. As I do the impossible to inspire others to have a glimpse of the good in a world drenched in bad this character became a part of who I am as a whole. This past weekend while I drove home from Kentucky I made a short stop at the home of my mentor late in the evening sunday night. He did one of the most thoughtful things anyone has ever done for me and I wanted to take the time to truly appreciate what he did for me and has done for me in helping me become the best version of myself. About 4 years ago my past coworkers @wadescomicmadness introduced me to a book around the time that I began training as a circus strongman/steelbender that would change my life in ways that I couldn't have begun to fathom. There was a character out there that I could relate to for the first time that felt just as lost as me, but just wanted to help. My mentor Will "Atlas" Sproat, met with @justinjordancomics and got all 3 trades signed as well as snagged a unique piece by @traddmoore. @dopiestaysgold bonded this piece into me about a year and a half ago and it serves as a daily affirmation that I can always be more.
