Just went on Instagram to look at more DR art (because tumblr won't let me see a lot of DR art for some reason) and saw hinanami discourse out in the wild which made me say, out loud, "oh, are we still doing this 💀"

Like idk if I've just aged out of the fandom (on Instagram) but just seeing that hinanami rant made me realize I've been spoiled by the DR community on Tumblr bc I'll scroll on here for 2 minutes and see a text post that will literally SHIFT my entire view of a character/ship and CHANGE my LIFE in just a small analysis that was probably written by op while they were on the toilet💀

Anyway it made me think of the post about Maki and Chappel Roan that I actually recited by memory out loud to my friend last night [gooning over wlw content together after watching Muriel's Wedding], And also that one post abt Monomi and Monokuma being Junko's satire of her own rivalry with Mukuro, and Junko not liking that her friends don't appreciate her fursona doing stand-up 💀💀 and like compare that to Instagram discourse and it's like "Komahina is stupid bc hinata isn't straight" like 💀

Anyway maybe it was the same on tumblr before [it probably definitely was] but now that I'm older I'm really appreciating mature convos/takes about danganronpa because good fanfiction/fanart/fan interpretations are truly adapting the story+characters in much better ways than the creators could ever imagine circa 2010 [pointy objects] [peaches and cream] [anything w/autistic nagito] [anything w/transmasc hajime]

number one rule of modern fandom experience (at the very least with media that has a propensity to draw Certain Crowds [looking especially hard at danganronpa and p5]) is CURATE YOUR OWN SPACE AND STRAY NO FARTHER ‼️‼️‼️ i personally escaped the early era dr fandom (pre v3 localization/the 2019 Danganronpa Renaissance) but time capsule posts tell me i dodged something of a bullet there ❤️ in that vein 2019/2020/covid era discourse was still crazy insane (<- was a part of it for sure LMFAO) but it had a much different Flavor than it did way back when. and the same is true of present-day: still a little kooky if you search hard enough (insta/tiktok/twitter/tumblr all have their own demons). but at least This go around i have largely avoided that by picking my people that i trust not to be Weird and just living in my own bubble wrt the dr fandom at large. and thats served me very well the past year+ since i got back into dr <3 and i have also seen MANY of those perspective-altering posts in that little curation circle that has deepened and made better my experience THE GOOD IS OUT THERE ‼️‼️‼️

THE JUNKO FURSONA POST ALSO LIVES IN MY BRAIN its so real and just one of many takes i’ve seen fly by in a post and been like This is so real and it’s mine now. many such cases <3 i follow people like that and simply block people expending energy on discourse i DOOOOOONT care about. like simply enjoy kmha (I SURE DO ‼️‼️‼️) if you like it and ignore hnmi/kmnmi if you dont (cant relate I LOVE YOU TOO HINANAMI + KOMANAMI ‼️‼️‼️) and live your life happy not angry ❤️

okay so i've explained this a bunch of times and i'm not sure how else i could explain it if the post of mine that you linked in your post didn't help, but i guess i'll try.

the dismissive attitude about gender referred to "genderblind", not "hearts not parts", as my post was about both terms.

"conflating gender and sex? again it says nothing about gender. maybe because its about sexualities it does imply something about gender, but it's dismissing the physical parts not your gender?"

the phrase is saying those who use it care about a person's heart, not their genitals, the implication being the typical type of attraction is based on genitals. attraction has come to be defined in terms of gender, not sex. hence this phrase conflating the two. (again, dismissing gender was not about this phrase.)

as i explained, the implication is there in the phrase setting itself apart from everyone else through the idea that the standard type of attraction is caring only or mostly about "parts". because if that wasn't the idea the phrase is built on, there wouldn't be a need to declare that your attraction isn't like that.

a phrase that prioritizes hearts (or romantic attraction/love) over parts (or sexual attraction/sex) can be alienating to aromantic folks who are already vilified and alienated because of how they experience attraction.

my post specifically said what the phrase means to convey isn't the issue, and what it means to convey is attraction that isn't about gender (gender is how attraction is defined, not sex, even if the phrase uses the word "parts"). and while that intended meaning is fine for some people, not all pan folks relate to or use that definition. which is why pan is also defined simply as attraction to all genders.

and if what the phrase means to convey was the common understanding or experience of sexuality in general for everyone, it likely wouldn't exist or become the "slogan" of a specific type of attraction.

there are people whose attraction is specific to certain genders (or sexes, for those who don't believe attraction is based on gender). and there are plenty of people who feel that they are more enlightened or openminded than those people because their attraction isn't limited to any specific gender (or sex), and sometimes this phrase is how they express that.

i don't know if any of that helped you understand why people take issue with the phrase. i tend to ramble and become longwinded which doesn't always help clarity. if there's something i can explain more or better, let me know and i'll try.

but i do want to say again that what the phrase is meant to convey isn't the issue and not everyone who uses the phrase has bad intentions or is a bad person who should be yelled at or accused of being queerphobic or anything.

the point is to just spread awareness as to why pan and non-pan people alike don't particularly like the phrase or appreciate it being used as "the" understanding of pansexual and why it has seen a bit of a decline in use over the years.

Remus takes his out to scan the plethora of texts. Most from Roman, some calls from him too. He reads none of them but he does ask for roman to clean up the counter meat, then he reads the texts sent.

-Remus why is my lamp broken?

8 minutes later.

15 minutes later.

-you never leave your phone what are you doing?

An hour later.

Matchup plz(Part 1) I'm a short girl, 4'11. I like to dye my hair. I practically live off of junk food. I'm a cosplayers and a writter. When I write my specialty tends to be angst. I tend to put headphones on and sing loudly and off key. I'm really into fantasy. My favorite fantasy creatures are dragons and fairies. I listen to a wide verity of music. At this current moment in time my favorite song would have to be "The art of Emory" by Madame Macabre

(Part 2) I play a lot of video games. I really like the dishonored and god of war games. However I always get the bad/horrible ending as I’m a “no one will notice if no one is alive” kinda player. However in real life I hate conflict. I’m not so good with change either. I read some books but not a lot as it hurts my head because I need glasses. I hate thunderstorms, the dark and being alone.

Part 3)I often get super down on myself when my friends aren’t talking me thinking that I did something to upset them. I’m the kinda of asshole who sleeps with a comforter, the fan on and the heater. Mainly because I can’t reach the window to take the fan down and close it. I know how to cook but I don’t really like to unless I have to. If I’m bored it’s highly likely I’ll spam you with random texts. Event hough I know I should be asleep at 3 am I’m not frequently. .

(Part 4)Most of my friends are in a diffrent timezone. I tend to have a foul mouth. I swear a lot. I’m a really good sculpture, especially with claybeing the youngest of my siblings I learned to have fun. So I’m a pretty fun loving and easy going person. Cute reason: omg Lance would probably ask if he could pick a color for your hair, and honestly, he picks the best ones? Like, they suit your skin tone well and you like them. How amazing is that??

Music reason: Lance is known to like music (seeing as how he borrowed Pidge’s headphones just to listen to music while putting on a face mask, what a king), so I can see you two sharing music with each other and finding out you both like the same song. That’ll probably be one of the first ways you two connect as friends or something more. And maybe instead of getting lost in the music from your headphones, Lance will connect to a speaker and blast your guys’ favorite songs while you’re jamming out. 

Video games reason: Lance is also known to be an active gamer so another way you two connect is through gaming. Although playing with each other would ultimately end up in complete annihilation one way or another. While Lance isn’t immediately “no one will notice if no one is alive,” he definitely gets there eventually if he’s with someone else who’s like that. Hunk watches in horror. 

Insecurity reason: Lance completely understands you when it comes to doubt, but he doesn’t want you to doubt for even a second that he does not love you. He will always be there for you, and he’ll send you random texts throughout the day just to reassure you that he’s still there for you. When you’re both bored, it might turn into a full conversation, and hey, that’s one conversation closer that you’ve grown to Lance. Sometimes, it’ll be in the middle of the night and then the two of you just talk the night away.

Similarity reason: you honestly suit Lance in a way where you’re both energetic and then complain when you start to get tired. Like, it’s not like you’re clashing heads because, for whatever reason, it seems like you two would almost always just be going at the same pace. You’re always in sync with each other. If anything, you just amplify each other and annoy everyone else, haha. You’re really perfect for each other in that sense though. You two are always doing something fun together, and if you don’t have anything fun to do, you make something fun to do. 

Random reason: as someone who also constantly makes weird noises, I could show you the exact facial expression Lance would make to each one, but I can’t because this is Tumblr. To put it simply, 75% of the time, he finds it cute, endearing, and funny. The other 25%, he just copies it right back and then you two try to out-weird each other.
