「 Daydreamtober 2024 」

I'm using the prompts to write, explain, draw, or just daydream more about the first events or facts that come to me when I see the word. Some things will be longer or higher quality than others, so please bear with me a lil bit. I gotta post lore somehow..

⟻ Day 20 — Fight ⟼ Word Count : 744

「 Donis 」 “—You’ve been doing 65-hour weeks and still having time to go to bars?!”

「 Reign 」 “I never said I had time. And It’s not like I’m proud of it. I know it’s wrong to skip out on sleep, but at least I can admit I’m falling back into drinking.”

「 Donis 」 “How about you fall into some therapy???”

「 Reign 」 “Wow, that’s real funny. Like I don’t already have enough on my plate.”

「 Donis 」 “I’m just trying to make a joke out of the situation. We both still have our jobs, but that doesn’t mean I can’t be a bit worried. I’ve known you for years, and I can see the change. You’ve been off.”

「 Reign 」 “What the hell does that mean? You really think you know everything about me?”

「 Donis 」 We haven’t been able to hang out in a month! And when I do come around, you’re irritated with everyooone and everythiiing.”

「 Reign 」 “What??? Maybe I have more important shit to focus on right now. This is just normal work stress.”

「 Donis 」 “Normal work stress? You just said you’ve been pulling 65-hour weeks for almost a month. You don’t HAVE to do that. When have you ever done that? Never. You’re not even acting like yourself!”

「 Reign 」 “So what? You think you’re some kind of expert on my life? You don’t know what it’s like to have a real job asshole.”

「 Donis 」 “… I know you more than you think. I come by three days a week to check on you. And you’re here, brushing me off like I did something wrong!”

「 Reign 」 “To check on me? Is that what all of this has been? You think I’m fucking helpless on my own without you?”

「 Donis 」 “That’s not what I meant at all! I just wanted to be there for you, but you keep pushing me away for work you don’t even have to do!”

「 Reign 」 “I’m just trying to get my shit together. Maybe I don’t need your fucking help— We are not having this conversation right now. I don’t know what you think you know, but don’t try to pry into my life like you have some right to.”

「 Donis 」 “I’m not trying to 'pry' into your life! I just want to talk to you as a friend, not just someone I work with.”

「 Reign 」 “Then we’ll talk when I’m not busy.”

「 Donis 」 “You wouldn’t be so busy in work if you weren’t picking up all these pointless— whatever the fuck you’ve been doing.”

「 Reign 」 “How about get the fuck out of my office.”

「 Donis 」 “Whatever. I’ve got thirty more minutes left anyway. I’ll be waiting when you’re ready to deal with this.”

「 Reign 」 “You don’t have to stick around, Meil. I’ll finish going through the rest of what you have right now, and we can have it cleared by Tuesday—”

「 Meil 」 “That’s like four hours’ worth of emails……..”

「 Reign 」 “I’m aware.”

「 Meil 」 “Are you really not going to talk to Donis?”

「 Reign 」 “Listen. I’m not going to waste time fake arguing about feelings with someone who is the product of what I work so hard for. This, my work, is all I have.”

「 Meil 」 “You also have friends. You’ve always been a friend to me, at least. And it’s alsooo sort of awkward hearing you two not getting along... I mean, the usual jokes turned into something so serious…”

「 Reign 」 “Everything is fine. We just need to sort it out—”

「 Meil 」 “Then why don’t you?”

「 Reign 」 “…You know what? Fine. I’ll finish this tomorrow and go talk to him. This is childish.”

I'd like to point out that Reigns' statement that Donis doesn't know what a REAL JOB is NOT ignored. It actually hits a nerve with him because it undermines everything he has accomplished. Reign eventually apologizes to him for everything, including that comment in the very large and empty NumberWon lobby. Donis also says a few things ofc. This is also the first argument they have. It doesn't make sense, but it does. They had never had a serious argument until that point and even then it was not serious. Sighhhh more to come...
