It is with great hesitating trepidation - and yet utter mesmerized fascination - that I share with you the following link to a story on The Guardian:
https://www.theguardian.com/stage/2014/jun/04/aamer-rahman-reverse-racism-comedy-tour
Now what is so interesting about this, is not the article per se but the nuclear explosion of comments the ensue and quickly fork out to universes of discussion of their own.
Combative, illustrative, harrowing, entertaining, thought provoking - these users pour themselves into fiery words, blowing up the issues facing any open forum that dares to table a modern discussion of racism. It's a contemporary, internet-driven social forum.
It's riveting at times.
The back-and-forth tangential discussions are well worth exploring.
There are parts that border on the grotesque, like when alternating firing solutions blaze back and forth like fireworks being set off of Foucault's pendulum in time-lapse playback speed.
But again some thought was put into many of the opinions stated, which tells you what people today think on the issue.
It's easy to get swallowed into it.
I had to back off after about an hour of reading it because my head was spinning and my ears were almost ringing, but it's a real pulse-taker for the modern state of the racism debate on the internet.
Check it out if you dare. I'm gonna walk Quentin!
Matti
P.S. I love you all
