The (h/c) woman cackled, not believing at what the boy was saying a demon not eating a human? What kind of joke is that? It may have not eaten any yet but that doesnt mean that it will not do so in the future.

" Do you know how foolish you just sounded? And first of all, arent you a demon slayer? Why is a slayer protecting a demon? Even if she is your sister, this goes against the very reason the Corps exist! As a demon slayer your job is to kill demons! " The woman said as she prepared to slash her nichirin blade into the pink eyed demon's neck

Before she even had the chance to do it, she immediately sensed an upcoming attack and dodged it while still holding the colar of the demon.

" What was that for Tomioka-san? " She growled, as she eyed her fellow Pillar.

" Release the demon (Y/N) " The Water Pillar uttered with the same expression as always.

Her smile turned into a frown as she eyed the blue eyed man warrily, " Dont tell me your planning on protecting her? "

" Ahh! " The demon whimpered in pain, as her grip on her collar tightened

" Stop! I dont care who you are dont hurt my sister! " The supposed brother raged and ready to swing his sword at her before  the other man stopped him and said " I'll take care of her. "

She was met with no answer, as she saw him make an attack stance.

She made a defensive stance, as she readied her body to take the impact of his attack.

She cant defeat him, their strength is almost equal and almost all of their few spars ended in a tie. Not that they were giving it their best shot either.

However with that being said, she's not just gonna let him break the rules.

A clash between the two pillars occured. With the man clearly having the advantage, over the woman who has an extra baggage on her hand.

" Snow Breathing : Sixth Form, Advancing Snowflake " She muttered as she blocked his attacks launching herself on the air, and spinning horizontally.

By his attacks she can tell that he isnt planning on hurting her, not that she wanted to either.

The fight continued on with Tanjirou, not being able to intervene because of his injuries and the fact that they were too strong. Stronger than Rui, the lower moon 5 demon that he fought earlier.

It ended with the messenger crow, relaying orders of bringing the demon and the boy back to the headquarters.

" I will not let this matter rest Tomioka. " She grumbled, unwillingly letting the demon enter the ridicolous box.

What the fuck? The look on (Y/N)'s face was indiscernible, veins popping on her face and the other pillars had to do a double take to see that she can actually make such a scary face.

She looked at Giyuu who was standing on the side by himself, and she just wanted nothing but to punch that stoic and unchanging face.

How dare he? After all the lives that have been sacrificed in order to protect his- how could he give away his life like that? She couldnt accept it, how he was bargaining his life just to let a demon live. And master Urokadaki? How can they do such a thing, when they were at the forefront of suffering  caused by those damn creatures?

And ofcourse her fellow pillars, didnt approve of that either. Not that she was suprised, she also disagreed and felt that the whole situation is so idiotic and nothing but driven because of empathy and denial.

Atleast not until, the wind pillar pulled off his aggresive stunt. She was horrified when Sanemi, stabbed the demon girl and forced her to come out.

Shinazugawa's blood stained the floor, as he continued on provoking the poor girl. Contrary to your expectation, the demon did not bite back nor attack him which suprised you all the more since he is a marechi just like you.

It was the brother who headbutted and challenged, the wind pillar that amused you the most. Still, holding resentment towards him and the others.

The meeting was concluded, with oyakata-sama letting them get away with it and shinobu taking them to her abode.

Ruy prided himself with being one of the most functional neverseen members. When he wasn't out there on a mission, or at the hideout to chime in with the plotting, he held quite a respectable business in Atlantis, if he said so himself. Which he did. Props of not having anyone know how he looked like he guessed. He was in the middle of rearranging some of the potted cacti on the top shelf when he heard the bell ring. He immediately plastered on a smile, and wiped his hands clean on his apron. Customers seemed to like the organic aesthetic. His smile fell when he saw who, exactly, was at the door. 

The first thing he felt was relief. Alvar wasn't dead. Thank god he wasn't dead. He'd have smiled if he didnt feel like he was going to burst into tears. He took a step forward to meet him. The second thing he felt was anger. He was alive, and yet, in the entire month hed been alive, and not dead like he fucking made him think he was. He had the nerve to show up, leaning on his door frame, smirking like nothing was wrong. 

“You look like shit,” ruy said. He was lying. Of course he was, alvar had never looked anything but fucking gorgeous a day in his life, even right then, looking like he hadnt slept in weeks, hes still one of the most beautiful people hes ever seen and hes a fucking elf. The third thing he felt was worry. 

“Right back at you, ruy,” alvar croaked out. Ruy had seen alvar after battle. He’d seen him shaking after a nightmare. He'd seen him puking his guts out in the toilets after downing a bit too many of Fintan’s bottles. He'd seen him miserable in every way, and yet alvars voice had always, always remained smooth. He scanned him for any injury, anything that coud explain what the fuck made it so that Alvar Soren Bloody Vacker had to croak what he was saying. Alvar was shaking. “Shit. shit what happened to you ?” he rushed at his side. Hed be anry later, when alvar didnt need to-- fuck he was leaning on the dorr for support. He slid an arm under his shoulders, taking most of the weight on. “fuck” he was never gonna make it up the stairs. “Imma need a little help here if you don't want us to kill ourselves falling down the stairs.” alvar groaned a bit, but he did take some of the weight off and ruy could handle the rest. 

He kicked his bedroom door open, laying alvar down on the bed before collapsing on an armchair himself. There was a fucking reason why he was never in the heat of the fight, and this reason was that him and sport made 36. He caught his breath in a few seconds, but when he looked up, alvar was still wheezing, sweat beading from his forehead. Ruy waited. Finally, alvar swallowed. Ruy raised an eyebrow at him. He opened his mouth to talk, but ruy stopped him with a hand. “Dont, you sound like a dying goat.” he passed a hand through his hair. “Sorry. It's true, but sorry.” it just… sounded like it hurt alvar to talk. A lot. And he didn't really want to put him through that, no matter how angry he was. Alvar held a finger up, a universal signal for “wait a second”, and propped himself up, struggling with the clasp of his cape, before eventually giving up and simply popping his head out. He gestured for Ruy to come closer, which he reluctantly indulged, sliding in the covers next to him, before handing him what looked like… a human usb stick ? maybe ?

He didn't want to ask, he really didn't, not if that meant alvar had to talk, but he had to. “What is it ?” “Evidence.” ruy winced at how rough he sounded. “For my dad.” “Fuck. will it be enough ?” he asked. It was no secret between them that the whole… Neverseen thing, for Alvar, had always been about taking his dad down, but they'd never really gotten around to it. Alvar nodded, and ruy let out a shaky exhale, laying his head on top of Alvar's and smiled. “Good.”

hi potentially ignorant question because i've always struggled with how to identify certain races/ethnicities (i'm latinx myself and it's still difficult to fully understand sometimes!) but would deus salve o rei be considered poc? i know not all brazilians are but also idk what makes a brazilian poc or white. thank you!

please look at the tags before proceeding to read my answer. i tagged a few possible triggers, but if anyone would like me to add more just send me an ask! the last thing i want is to hurt someone. also forgive any mistakes i may have made and feel free to educate me if i missed something.

hi!! im sorry, im gonna rant a lot because its not easy at all and you definitely shouldn’t feel ignorant especially because you are trying to learn. i am trying to learn too and the only conclusion i came to, based on my experiences and what i read about the subject, is that there’s no simple explanation. just remember that labels are given by people and people give labels a meaning (anscombe said that, not me), which is why us people who have mixed native american ancestry are mixed and south american people who have mixed native ancestry are ‘hispanic’ or ‘latino’, even though everybody was fucking colonized.

im really no expert either tbh especially for the fact that i only ever saw myself as a latina when i travelled outside brazil. because of the mess that was colonialism in south america, ethnicity, especially in brazil, is a really tricky question. the majority of brazilians are a mix between european (mainly portuguese, italian, spanish, german and dutch), native and west african. that excluding the immigrant waves that came after the first ones, like the japanese community, which is the biggest in the world outside of japan. that being said, i think bruna especifically is european, native american and probably a little bit black as well. her father looks mainly white, but could still be mixed from generations back and her mother definitely isn’t white. in brazil, generally, you are only considered not white if your skin is dark. i’m multiracial, even found out i have a little bit of asian in me, possibly from japan and it goes way back, but in brazil, im considered white. bruna would be considered white even though her mother is clearly not. ‘race’ is not the correct term here. my maternal grandfather is clearly not white and my mother looks just like her mother, with fair skin and red-ish hair, so she’s white. its really complicated and not something i feel like i can explain clearly. 

i don’t feel like i look white, but in brazil im white and i feel white, because i understand that i have privileges that are not shared with my black friends. and i didn’t feel like i was latina until i went to the us for the first time and people just looked at me and assumed they should talk to me in spanish. my great grandfather was a white-ass british man nAMED EDWARD MURRAY. i speak korean better than spanish. like bitch your sixth grade mediocre spanish is probably better than mine. and still, i experienced hispanic culture in brazil intimately. i watched a lot of tv shows and novelas from argentina and mexico and came to understand the differences between hispanic and latina. hispanics are people who are of mixed ancestry between the spanish colonizers and native americans in the determined areas they colonized. latinx is a term for someone from latin america, which i am too. i can’t tell you what hispanic is/feels like, because even if i do have spanish and native american ancestry, my country was colonized by PORTUGAL, even though i assume (again, this is a supposition) that hispanics feel hispanic not mainly because of their spanish ancestors, but because of the roots of their native cultures, which are NOT interchangeable and are widely different from brazil. 

so there are white people in brazil, there are black people, native people, asian people, middle eastern peoples, a mix between two of these peoples, a mix between all of these peoples, so i can’t say that everyone in deus salve o rei is a poc, but i can say that most of them are not entirely descended from europeans, even if it’s hard to keep track. it feels like every single person has a different ethnic background here. so for brazilian faceclaims, you have to search case by case. marina ruy barbosa, for example, is the actress who plays the main protagonist, a redhead named amalia in the show and idk if her family has mixed ancestry (if they have it’s minimal), but to me, she’s white, even though she is latina. i dont know how much use that is for you, and especially because in this community people are quick to throw you to the wolves, i suggest you search for help from someone who is better educated. i can tell you, though, that there is no definite answer. im sorry this answer got so huge. 

the general rule in brazil, especially in the entertainment industry, is that if you look white, you are white. that is completely fucked up, but if you understand the culture of racial privilege, it makes sense. i’m not saying it’s right, just that it’s the way things are treated here. the biggest tv channel did an indian themed prime time novela a few years back and none of the artists in the cast had anything to do with india, but most were tanned and not white-passing (even though a few did look white), so hey, you can totally be indian now and maybe we’ll give you a new ethnicity next time you have a role and no one will give a fuck.

Hidetaka Sera from After school affairs! DAT SMIRK DOUGH!!! lmao and ....

Werner Olivers butler from Be my princess 2 (YES HE DOESNT HAVE A ROUTE BUT HE SHOULD I SIMPLY LOVE HIM!)

Who’s your least favorite game?

A knights devotion & Rose in the Embers (Even though Kyosuke is totally sexy! I just cant get into it due to the dialouge)

Who’s your least favorite character?

Hmmm this ones tough....I'm gonna go with either Edward Levaincois from Be my princess (HEAR ME OUT! I just thought he was much cheesier in this dialogue then any other characters I've read which is funny because I like Max from Be my princess 2) & Noel from Seduced in the sleepless city (I just couldnt really get into when hes in the other characters stories hes cool but it was my least favorite route in the game)

Who’s the hottest characters?

Oh god we're gonna be here all night! This is not in any specific order and I really had to narrow it down it was pretty hard I've read and seen alot of routes in my time forgive me if my list is long!:

Icthys (Star Crossed Myth)

Joshua, Zain, Alberto & Luke (Be my princess yea I know Luke & Alberto are only butlers and only really have two special stories but I DON'T CARE!)

Sieg, Oliver & Werner (Be my princess 2 yes another butler but as stated above I SIMPLY LOVE HIM!)

Who’s the funniest characters?

Alone to me would be Ichtys and Hidetaka (because of the things they say) HOWEVER I have 2 dynamic duos that make for really hilarious dialouge:

1) Ota & Baba (kissed by the baddest bidder) I think everyone who's ever read this group of stories can totally agree with me when I say they are the most hilarious comedy pairing out their. They way they play off of each other is PERFECTION! Comic gold!

2) Oliver & Werner (Be my princess 2) now hear me out cause some of yall are probably like huh!? Well to me they are hilarious for the same reason Ota and Baba are they play off of one another amazingly! It's like Werners the big brother and Oliver's the younger one. It's fun to see them two especially when Oliver is getting into trouble for sneaking out of his duties and Werner catches him because he's placed a tracking device on him. To me it's a cute funny not comic gold but really funny.

Who’s your favorite MC?

Hmm this ones tough because for the most part I dont really care for the MC in any of them. Mainly because I'm literally yelling at her while reading most of the stories for some stupid shit. But if I had to choose a favorite probably be between either the MC from Be my princess 2 (especially in Sieg's main story when she chews him out in his office) or the MC in Masquerade Kiss.

Kiss, Marry, Avoid?

Depends on the game but if were going as a whole I would

Kiss Icthys (Star crossed myth)

Marry Hidetaka (After school affairs) or Werner (Be my princess 2)

Avoid Shinobu (Serendipity next door) homeboys CREEPY AS FUCK!!! I read his story once and it freaked me out so much I dont really wanna read Serendipity next door again!!

Which has the best artwork by Voltage?

Damn! That's hard to alot of Voltages artwork is great! But I'm gonna have to say my top 2 that are actually tied for first is Kings of Paradise & After School Affairs.

Who’s route was most interesting?

Oh god again! Hmmm this ones another tough one most of the routes I've read in stories are really amazing and as you can tell already I'm a highly indecisive person! So I have a top 3 not in a specific order:

1) Hidetaka Sera (After school affairs) In the many stories I had read before this one I had never read any where it tackled bullying and attempted suicide I think it really hit home for me making it truly moving.

2) Mitsuru Sanada (First Love Diaries -A kiss on the beach-) Even though Mitsuru is up there on my list of least favorite characters (hes not my least favorite though probably would be #4) his story touches issues such as teen pregnancy. To me controversial issues being drawn out in a story and the way Voltage has it are very moving and amazing! It really sucked me in.

3) Nozomu Fuse (True love sweet lies) his story even though not dealing with controversial issues really it was quite the read and is on my highly recommend list. Sometimes Voltage has a tendency of making stories pretty easy to figure out but with Nozomus it shocked me in the end and left me on the edge of my seat I simply couldnt put it away!

Who’s route was most boring?

Probably Kyosukes from Rose in the Embers. I mean yes hes incredibly gorgeous but to me it really lack lustered and it was a pretty typical love story between social classes. The only part that truly intrigued me was the prologue and how she came to meet the guys and how she choose him. No judgement for the ones who love Rose in the Embers. It's just that after I read it I was pretty dissapointed.

What’s your favorite character type?

Sexy smirks & Abs always get to me physically (a.k.a Hidetaka, Rui & Yosuke!). However tbh I dont think ii have a specific type of character I go for I mean if you look at my two favorite characters both Hidetaka & Werner are very different from each other. So to me I think it's all about the way the MC and the character bounce off of one another so well it makes for some hilarious and yet amazing dialogue. When I feel like I'm saying in my head "hey! This sounds like the kind of conversation I could possibly have" then the characters got my attention. But a sense of humor is a total must for me even if it's small jabs here and there like Werner with Oliver from Be my princess 2.

Who’s the most annoying MC?

I dont have a specific because as I said alot of the MCs in different stories their actions make me wanna smack my damn head! And make me wonder how have they survived that many years in their lives. Lmao

What’s your favorite Otome moment?

This one is simple...I dont have one. In truth I read the stories to get away from the stress of my everyday life. So any moment I have where I can laugh or smile because I'm reading an amazing story or even a moment where I'm smacking my head over an MC to me is a time where I'm able to relax and breathe away from all the stress which makes every otome moment I have a great one.
