Absolutely LOVE the fact that so many beginner pets that are said to be really easy to keep are actually difficult to care for but people consider them disposable and don't know enough to give them decent lives

#dont get me wrong i don't think that every parent to put a goldfish in a glass bowl for their kid is an awful person #but i wish that it was more expected for people to actually put time and effort into making sure they provide decent care for their animals #and if they cant then just dont get a pet #that pisses me off more. when people KNOW they cant care for something properly but get it anyways bc they want to #anyways yeah this is poorly worded #other ppl have said it better #im just yapping #edit- i acknowledge that the widespread information is the biggest problem here #so as much that i wish individuals would put in more effort i also know that a lot of the info is wrong and reaffirms the idea that #the animals are yknow. easy basic disposable etc #so yes i wish the info was better #thats the main problem #this wasn't well worded like i said #edit AGAIN bc i cant shut up #some pets are definitely better for beginners than others #what I don't like is certain pets that are difficult to care for being marketed as easy beginner pets #just because they're cheap and common and easily replaceable #as well as the notion that since a pet is a beginner species you don't have to put in any time or effort #ya feel me
