#blacknovelist talks#have i ever told y'all how actually tired i am of fantasy these days???#dont get me wrong bc i fucking love high fantasy and scifi and steam and solarpink and all that shit#but the settings and the basis-es of these worlds never changessssssss#and i specify high fantasy here bc there is magic and fantasy in modern but its just never enough of it#example: city of bones is cool yeah but its more supernatural than anything#bridge to neverland from the peter and te starcatchers series gets close!!#but it focuses more on the modern world and mostly doesn't implement starstuff until the end so it doesnt really count#ive gotten some author recommendations too but what im saying here boils down to give me the dwarves and elves with smartphones you cowards#i'm still in class but honestly this bothers me a fucking lot#i've been thinking about fantasy sci fi on loop for the past two months im exhausted please send help#this was a post about my cool solarpunk fantasy thought but this is just as noble a cause so its fine
