i have literally so many thoughts about that finale but suffice to say that hero of ages > final empire >>>>>>>>> well of ascension (and hero of ages might be one of sandersons best books, period)
#like its Thight between hoa and final empire but i think hoa is better#because the questionable politics that plague mistborn as a whole arent as prevalent in hoa#dont get me wrong - these issues still are present (particularly in spooks plotline) but this is the book about saving the world#sanderson was wise to drop most of the political stuff and just have an epic finale for the trilogy and it fucks#genuinely#instead he focuses on the things from final empire that really stand out to me like the themes of faith and trust and hope and all that#he picked exactly the right characters as pov#sazed's arc is amazing marsh's role is amazing spook's arc is showstopping#breeze goes back to a minor role which is perfect cuz i hate him#elend is more than good this time#like i still have my gripes with his character but hes good in this book AND the vin and elends relationship shines it worked so well#mistborn spoilers#also the prose is better the horror atmosphere is really well executed#lots of really good imagery#incredible action#the vin vs the inquisitors fight really stood out i think it was one of sandersons best fights hell perhaps his BEST fight#much to think about honestly
