#don't want to talk to Ikaris let alone about the loves of their lives

Note
So, I've got a prompt for you.
I love movies and tv series and they are all so different from each other but also have so much things in common. And there is one thing i can picture our beloved men from Eternals in.
I think at least one time in their whole time on earth, Ajak forced her children to spend time together, in groups. So while Ajak is dragging her daughters around, the group of men are forced to hang out with each other. And a full men group, hanging out, means normal conversations drifting to uncomfortable and awkward conversations (for at least one or two individuals.) So I'd like to ask you to write Kingo, Phastos, Druig, Ikaris and Gilgamesh (god i love him, malewife) in such a situation, maybe sparring together, drinking alcohol but the most important: talking about (their) girls! (or boys, or whatever preference our individuals have in a partner)
"This fuckin' sucks."
No one spoke up to agree with Druig, but certainly no one argued with him, either.
Ajak was with the other half of the Eternals, having brought Sersi, Makkari, Thena and Sprite with her to the beautiful natural springs just outside the palace grounds. India was so mild in climate, and they were still getting used to the place after arriving short of a month ago.
She had claimed it was mother-daughter bonding time, and encouraged they do the same. Gil and Kingo had certainly had their reservations, while Ikaris, Druig and Phastos had quickly asserted that they would rather let the villagers burn them on the pyre.
And yet here they were.
Kingo took a sip of his...whatever it was. He winced a little at it, staring into the fire they'd built simply for something to do and occupy their time. He was the most antsy, the rest of them having devolved into silence naturally. Which wasn't really Kingo's style. "Is anyone going to say anything, or...?"
"Just did," Druig barked at him from an entirely separate log bench all to himself, "sucks."
"Oi," Ikaris snarled at him, which did nothing to improve the atmosphere. He leaned on his knees, also sitting on a separate log bench.
Phastos was occupying himself with whatever, using his powers for something or other, ignoring them all deliberately. Also on his own log.
Gil sighed, staring up at the moon from where he had given upon talking and simply laid down on the ground.
Kingo turned around to look at Gil, lying down behind him, "what's with you?"
The Strongest Eternal shrugged, absently pulling up a bite of mango for himself. "I wonder what Thena's thinking about right now."
A round of loud groans hit the air, startling the birds in the trees.
"What?" Gil sat up with a frown at his band of brothers.
"Thena-this, and Thena-that," Phastos supplied readily, rolling his eyes the hardest at it.
"Oh, come on," Gil huffed, but he looked over as Druig barked out a sharp laugh at him.
"Gil, you ever heard yer own thoughts, mate?" the mind reader snickered, poking at his own temple as he said it. "Thena-this and Thena-that is exactly what you're thinkin'--always!"
Gil sighed, dusting himself off and sitting himself on Kingo's log properly. "I don't see the problem."
"You wouldn't," Ikaris snorted, and this time Gil took a little more offense to it. "You've got all that muscle and not a single one in your brain."
Gil picked up a rock and flicked it at the Soaring Eternal. For any mortal, it would have gone clean through their head like a bullet, but Ikaris snarled as it bounced off his forehead like a nut shell. "Aren't you supposed to be getting married soon? I'd expect you to have thoughts of nothing but your future wife."
Ikaris also soured at having his fiancee brought up. "Some of us can think of more than one thing at a time."
"Okay," Phastos held a hand in both of their directions, as if trying to soothe savage beasts. "No one has to talk about anyone's wives, y'animals."
"Let 'em have it out, Phastos," Druig laughed, picking up a pear for himself and biting into it with a disgusting amount of gusto. Chunks and juice flew from his mouth as he pointed, "I wanna shee what 'appensh!"
"Close your damn mouth when you're eating!" Phastos barked at the 'youngest' of them present.
"All that'll happen is Ajak getting mad at us," Kingo pointed out liberally. He patted Gil's shoulder, knowing that he was the more easily reasoned with between him and Ikaris. "Look Gil, I support you, and your gross, sappy romanticism."
"Thanks," Gil sneered at him and his 'support'. He turned his glare in Druig's direction, "I don't bring up you following Kari around, now do I?"
"Oi," Druig grumbled.
Phastos shared a look with Kingo, both of them entirely capable of disparaging their siblings in similar and opposite ways. Phastos wasn't opposed to the vessel, but needed the right soul. Kingo was proudly uninterested in everyone equally.
Ikaris also looked up at the moon and sighed. "What're they even doing?"
Kingo looked at Druig, "what did mother-daughter bonding mean?"
Druig snarled up one side of his nose and lips. "You think I'm in everyone's heads all the fuckin' time?"
"Kinda."
"Well, m'not," Druig shrugged, tossing away his pear seeds and reaching for a fresh one. "That'd be exhausting."
"Whose thoughts are the loudest?"
"Yours."
"I don't believe you," Kingo countered just as quickly as Druig had. He got a look for it but shrugged. "Maybe sometimes, sure. But it can't always be me."
Druig chuckled, bobbing his head in Gil's direction, "who'd you think? It's Mister Thena over 'ere."
"What do you mean they're loud?" Gil crossed his arms in his defense.
"Just what it sounds like, Gil," Druig offered at least slightly more amiable than he had been before. "S'not like shoutin', I guess. But they're...they're loud and clear. All the time."
"Like wh-"
"Thena," all four other Eternals answered for him simultaneously. Gil pursed his lips, feeling his cheeks warm. But at least the others were smiling and laughing (even if it was at his expense).
Druig slapped his knee in glee. "It's always 'where's Thena?', or 'wonder what Thena's up to', or 'I miss Thena' from you."
"Okay, okay," Gil sighed. It wasn't as if he had a correction to make, or even a defense to it. Those certainly sounded like his thoughts.
"Her too."
"Huh?" Gil blinked, hearing a much softer follow up from Druig.
The solitary Eternal was looking down at his pear, toying with it in his hands as the truth of his words made him quieter. He offered Gil a smile. "She's the same way--if you somehow didn't know."
"Thena?" Gil blinked.
"Yeah, Thena?" Kingo repeated from next to him. "I mean, I don't doubt it about Gil, but I figured T was...harder to read."
Druig grinned, shaking his head. He became a little more sheepish, but shrugged. "Most'a the time, yeah. But when it's about Gil here...she's clear as a bell."
Kingo just nodded, taking another sip of (whatever). "Wouldn't have guessed."
"First time I caught it I thought I was fucked," Druig shook his head. "T doesn't take kindly t'me pokin' around, 'course. But this thought just--it shot out like an arrow."
"What was it?" Gil asked, unable to resist.
Druig looked at him, offering a much more genuine smile, "Gil."
He just stared, "yeah--I'm asking."
"No, that's it," Druig chuckled, shaking his head again and ruffling his hair for good measure. "Just Gil--she walks around with your name in 'er head like the breath in 'er lungs. I had to learn to block it out--s'like a clock, tick-tick-tickin' away in the background."
Gil looked like he could burst with joy.
Ikaris cleared his throat faintly, already ruddy cheeked when the others looked at him. "Does, uh, Sersi-"
"Don't know, haven't checked."
"Okay!" Phastos stood, clapping his hands together before Ikaris could pick up Druig and throw him clear across the Ganges. "Why don't I reach out to Ajak and see what they're up to?"
Druig rolled his eyes as a loud and clear I want to see Thena floated into his mind. Gil was like an unchecked faucet--sometimes dripping, sometimes on full blast, but always leaking in some way.
"That's a good idea," Ikaris growled as he floated back down to his log, fists still clenched and eyes still glowing.
"Well," Kingo sighed as he set down his nondescript beverage. "What an unproductive discussion."
"Speak for yourself," Gil chuckled, nudging his most jovial brother's arm.

Mute (Druig x reader)
Summary: Reader goes mute after taking a rogue lazer beam to the throat when protecting Druig.
Notes: GIF is not mine, angst, sad themes (depression), Eternals spoilers
Prompt Credit @scrvllet : "Let me be there for you"
--
There you were, on the battlefield against Ikaris and Sprite. You had an inkling about Ikaris but you never would have expected Sprite to go rogue too. Without Kingo, it's much harder to defeat Ikaris, let alone Sprite. Together they're basically unstoppable.
You helped Makkari and Phastos keep Ikaris at bay while Sersi goes closer to the Celestial. Sprite uses her illusion to distract Sersi long enough to stab her. Ikaris breaks free from Phastos' grip and flies over to Sersi when he sees Druig knocking Sprite out with a rock.
"Makkari, send me over there please." You sign and she nods. You take her hand and she rushes you over to where Ikaris, Sersi, Sprite and Druig were. Ikaris sends a beam towards Druig and you push him to the ground. The beam pierces through your throat and you fell to the ground in ear ringing pain.
You clutch your throat and curl into a ball. Your muscle and skin were starting to regenerate but it wasn't quick enough. The damage was already done. Makkari tries to talk to you but your eyes were screwed shut and pain envelopes your body.
"Y/N! Y/N, look at me, darlin'. Let me see." Druig says and you shake your head, pushing away his hand on your shoulder. You finally take a deep breath when the pain subsided.
"Oh my God, what have I done?" Ikaris says in disbelief. "Y/N?" Sersi says and you look to her. You tried to speak but you wince in pain.
Fear settled in your bones. You couldn't speak. "Y/N, look at me. Everything is going to be okay. Just breathe." Makkari signs when she noticed your hands starting to shake. You crawl away from everyone as you tried to speak again. Nothing.
Your breathing grew ragged and Ikaris lands in front of you. Makkari used the force of her speed to throw him into a massive rock. You stand from the ground as he nears and the whites of your eyes changed to onyx. "Y/N, stop." Sersi stands between you and Ikaris and hurt stabbed through your heart.
"He broke me, and you still defend him?" You sign when your eyes slowly went back to it's normal color. "Y/N, please. I love him." Sersi explains. "Then you two deserve each other. I never want to see you again." You sign, tears threatening your eyes.
You walk away from them and Phastos and Thena joined the group. You sat back down and looked down at the drying blood on your trembling hands.
Resting your face in your hands, you no longer have the energy to push them away. Phastos and Makkari were by your side and you silently cried into Makkari's arm.
She held your head as she withheld her own tears. Druig's heart wrenches in his chest seeing you like this. Thena recognized the look in his eye and stood in his way from going to Ikaris. "Out of the way, Thena." Druig says. "It won't change what happened," she explains.
He looks over to you shaking in Makkari's arms. He reads your thoughts. "What am I going to do now?" "How do i- I don't know how to-" Who am I without my voice?" "Who's going to love me when I'm like this?" "I'm going to kill Ikaris," "I can't do this,"
Sersi used the UniMind to combine all of your powers to stop the Celestial. You allowed yourself to be taken under. At least it'll distract from thinking about how you're going to live without your voice.
**
"She hasn't came out of her room in days," Kingo says. "We've known each other for millenia. We've had each other's backs since before that. Why is she pushing us away now?" Phastos asks.
"Druig, you know what she's thinking right?" Kingo asks. Druig shakes his head, not wanting to lose your trust anymore than he has.
He leans his head against the palm of his hand. "She lost hope. For millenia, she's had her voice. And now it's been stripped from her." Makkari signs.
Phastos runs a hand over his face. You loved to sing. It's how you expressed if you were happy or even if you were nervous.
He loved his son as much as you loved to sing. If he lost him, he would have followed Ikaris into the sun. He couldn't imagine it. He looked over to the room and everyone else followed his gaze. "How do you let her know that we're here?" Phastos asks.
"Check in on her every once in a while. You all have lives to get back to. We've got her." Makkari signs, referencing to her and Druig. "We can't just leave her like this," Kingo says. "She's right. All of you trying to get her to open up will only intimidate her even more." Druig finally speaks.
"But what if she doesn't get out of this." Kingo asks. "We're here to make sure she does," Makkari explains. Phastos hesitantly stands and says, "Make sure to tell her that I'm one phone call away." Makkari nods. Kingo also stands and follows Phastos to the door.
When they open the door, they see Sersi raising her hand to knock. "Bad timing," Phastos says, pushing passed her. Tears formed in Sersi's eyes. "I'm so sorry," she croaks. Kingo sighs and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Just give her time. She's processing."
"I just want her to know that she'll always be my family and that I never wanted to choose sides." Sersi says, her voice weighted. Druig abruptly stands from the couch and was in her face in an instant.
"You don't get to come here and ask for forgiveness when she barely spoke a word to me for days. The love of my life is mute because your boyfriend went rogue." Druig snaps.
"You should go. All of you." Makkari states. "I'm not going anywhere," Druig tells her. "You're no use to her like this. I understand why you're angry, but she doesn't need that right now." Kingo leads Sersi back to the elevator where she came and Druig left down the stairs.
You heard the entire thing from the other side of the door. You slide down the door and rested your face into your lap as your body shook. You tore your own family apart.
--
Makkari was out buying groceries, leaving Druig to keep an eye on you. "Why are you still here?" You ask in your mind, knowing that he was listening. "What do you mean, my love?" "I'm broken. Faulty. I'm not special anymore."
"Please tell me you don't actually believe that?" "You told me that my voice brought you back home," "You are my home. With or without your voice, Y/N."
"Don't you get it! I'm giving you an out! I'm giving you a chance to move on and find someone better." "Open the door, my love." He calmly says through the door.
"Stop calling me that," "Open the door," he repeats. "Why?" "So I can be there you. Please just let me be there for you, my love." "Stop!" "I won't unless you open the door." "Just please go," "I love you," "Druig-" "I love you. I love you. I love you. I lo-"
The door swings open and you push at his chest angrily. "Why do you love me? I'm broken! What are you, blind?!" Your eyes and nose were rubbed raw from the tissues you went through. You felt disgusting. You're more of a burden now than you've ever been.
"Beautiful," he says with a smile when he caresses your cheek bone with his thumb. You push him again, fuming with anger. You don't understand why he won't leave you alone. "Because I love you," before you push him again, he grabs your arms and pulls you close for a kiss.
"I will always love you," he says pulling away from your lips and resting his forehead against yours. Trailing the tip of his nose along the base of yours. "Why?"
"Because you're perfect for me," "My love," he adds and your eyes snap to his. "And I'm not going anywhere until you realize that so you're stuck with me."
Your body melted into his and buried your face into his chest. He lets go of your arms and wraps his arms around your trembling frame.
"I found the perfect song for us. Tell me what you think," He pulls out his phone and clicks on YouTube. "Japanese Denim" by Daniel Caesar was on the title and the melody was soft and slow. You liked it.
"You like it?" He asks and you nod. He puts the phone into his back pocket before taking you in his arms and swaying side to side. "We'll figure this out together," he adds after few moments of comfortable silence.
The door opens and Makkari beams with excitement. "Finally!" She sigh after she sets down the groceries.

Falling in Love Again and Again ~Druig Imagine~
Summary: You have the powers of a phoenix. You had met the Eternals when a Deviant showed up to the city of Greece in 3000 B.C. However, Druig stays with you even when you pass and are reborn.
Author's Note: Let's face it, we all simped for everyone other than Ikaris.
Reader's Pronouns: She/Her
Warnings: Spoilers!!!!
Part Two | Part Three
Phoenixes were a big clan that helped small towns that surrounded Greece. You were one of them before becoming one of the last few left from defending Greece from what was known as Deviants according to the Eternals.
"You're a phoenix?" Druig asked you. After defeating another Deviant, you were all celebrating in the city. You stood away from the party as you watched everyone celebrate happily.
"Yes. One of the last of my kind," you tell him.
"Where are the others?" Druig asked you.
"Here and there. They all spread out after hearing about these Deviants. I and my cousin live here to defend the city of Greece," you explained.
"You've never seen the world?" Druig asked you.
"No. I wish I could."
"Then you should come with us. We could use a strong fighter like you."
"I wouldn't know anyone other than you and your family," you tell him.
"And what's so bad about that?" Druig asked you.
"Nothing."
"So what do you say? Come join me and my family and help fight off the Deviants?" Druig asked you.
"I'd like that," you smiled at him.
It was the first reborn that freaked everyone out. Especially Druig. The downside of your powers was that once you are reborn, you forget your memories before your death. You could only remember the fact that you were a phoenix and who you were.
Druig rushed over to you as you sat up from the ashes. Your naked body was marked with the black ash, covering you a little. Sprite quickly covered you with an illusion of clothes as you looked around confused.
"Y/n. Are you okay?" Druig asked you.
"Who are you?" You asked him.
"Y/n, stop kidding around," Kingo said.
"What? Who are you, people? Where's my family?" You asked.
"Let me talk to her alone," Ajak said.
Ajak walked you over to a hut to talk to you alone and explain the situation. Druig waited impatiently as he watched the door of the hut for you or Ajak to come out.
"Druig, are you okay?" Sersi asked as she approached the anxious man.
"I'm fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"You know, you could convince her to stay," Sersi tells him. Druig looked over at her before looking back at the hut. Ajak walked out before looking over at him. Ajak gave him a nod before walking off.
Druig quickly rushed into the hut to see you in new clothes. You looked over at him as he walked in.
"Hello. Can I help you?" You asked.
"My beautiful, beautiful Y/n. Do you not remember me?" Druig asked.
"I'm sorry. I don't. Maybe you can help me remember?" You asked.
"Of course. I promised to stay by you after every reborn."
"Were we together?" You asked him.
"No. But I want us to be."
"Let me fall in love with you again and you can ask me again," you smiled. Druig smiled before lifting your hand to kiss the top of it.
It wasn't long for you and Druig to admit your feelings for each other. Druig had been protective of you since. He had done his best to protect you from being reborn again.
"My love, you know I can defend myself," you tell Druig as you were all celebrating another victory in saving a city from a Deviant.
"I cannot deal with another reborn. I didn't like the first reborn and knowing you can lose your memories, I don't want to lose you again," Druig tells you.
"You will never lose me as long as you are there to help me remember," you tell him. Druig smiled before leaning down to give you a kiss.
"Let's marry."
"What?"
"Let's marry. Keep our love bonded even if you do reborn again," Druig tells you. You smiled and nodded.
"Okay."
Your second reborn was when Thena suffered from Mahd Wy'ry and attacked everyone. To save Makkari, you pushed her away before being stabbed by Thena's weapon. Druig let out a small yell before quickly catching you before you fell.
"Druig, please help me remember you when I reborn," you tell him.
"Of course, my love."
When you were reborn again, Druig took you over to the top of the temple with everyone else. While Gilgamesh agreed to take care of Thena, Druig decided to leave and live in a war-free society. You sat on a step while Druig mind controlled the war that was going on below you.
"I'm taking Y/n with me along with everyone else," Druig tells them. You looked over at him before looking at everyone else.
"You don't want to return her to her cousin in Greece? Or help find her family so she can see them again?" Ikaris asked.
"I'm her family now. Remember? Y/n, my love. Let's go," Druig said he offered his hand to you. You held his hand before standing up. You looked back at everyone before following Druig down the stairs and into the forest.
"Who are you?" You asked Druig as you both walked off with everyone he has mind-controlled over.
"I am your husband, my love. And I promise that no one will ever hurt you ever again," Druig tells you before kissing your hand.
"What about everyone that was in the temple?" You asked looking back. Druig cupped your cheek, making you look back at him.
"Don't worry about them. I have you and that's all I need," Druig tells you as he pressed his forehead against yours.

Getting hurt isn't always bad
Ikaris x male reader (unrequited)
Druig x male reader
Wanted to get this a shot.
I only proofread this once.
As Ikaris was looking at earth through the window in the domo, he feels someone walking up to him. As he turns around he sees a woman dressed in green.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?"
The woman asks looking at Ikaris.
"I'm Ikaris."
"I'm Sersi."
Introducing themselves to the other, while looking each other in the eyes, seemingly inlove. However they did not notice another eternal with white hair in the distance dressed in an attire similar to ikaris, looking at the male in blue armour, with a mix of sadness and love in his eyes, knowing the blue armoured male won't be his in the end.
——————
As they are fighting the deviants outside the gates, the white haired eternal stood beside a deviant corpse he had just killed, looking back he sees gilgamesh, slapping a deviant sending it flying towards the gate. Successfully killing it.
"Nice hit, Gil."
Complemented by the white haired man, he turned to his direction giving him a soft smile.
Meanwhile a certain mind controller watches the interaction with eyes squinted. As the white haired man searched for a certain eternal with blue armour and a white streak on his hair. He sees him with ajak getting healed, Ikaris was looking at Sersi with love evident in his eyes, y/n's happy and love filled gaze averted now replaced with a sad and hopeless look in his eyes. Druig saw this and decided to approach him.
"You know, if you don't get over with your little crush on Ikaris, you're the only one who's going to get hurt, right? And the longer this keeps going, the more painful the acceptance will be."
Y/n looked at druig still with the same sad and hopeless look in his eyes, now glossy.
"I know...but I just can't help it, he's just, he's just- he's perfect. Perfect in every way I look at him, I cannot find a flaw. He's brave,
he's selfless, he has those beautiful eyes that can clearly convey what he's feeling, at that moment. That muscular body, that looks like it feels warm, he looks like he gives the best hugs, I just want him to hold me tight, never let go, whispering about how much he values me, how much he loves me....Why is it that I always want the stars that are so far away, that I will never be able to get."
Said the white haired male to the mind controller, eyes now filled with tears, Druig pulls him into a hug, Druig feeling a bit hurt at the words.
Little did they know, Ajak, the leader of the eternals, were looking at their little interaction. Assuming y/n has finally told someone else other than her about his feelings on ikaris. She watches as the mind controller holds the white haired eternal close, letting him cry onto his chest, whispering how it's going to be okay.
——————
During this festive evening y/n watches as sprite was doing her thing using her powers to tell a story, the humans were mesmerized. As he just stood at a lonely corner all by himself, looking at Ikaris with hurt in his eyes as he sees him with Sersi laughing, having fun.
He feels his heart cracking even more.
He just averts his eyes and keep drinking his drink, he doesn't have anyone to talk to right now considering druig is with Makkari. Doing some trades.
He doesn't miss the smile on both of their faces and the laughter, as they were having fun. Y/n felt very envious, of them, they have each other. They will never be alone as long as the other lives.
Y/n averts his eyes once more now eyes glossy trying not to cry. As he looks down, he feels a hand slap on his shoulder.
"You know you look like a creep looking at them with that look."
The white haired male turned to the source of the voice seeing kingo looking at druig and makkari as well.
"Leave me alone kingo, I'm not up for any of your shenanigans right now."
Y/n says as he storms out of the city and back in the domo to go to his room. Laying in bed he slowly cries himself to sleep.
Druig saw their little interaction, seeing y/n hurting also hurt him.
Makkari, notcies how Druig has gone quiet. Looking over at him, seeing him with a sad look in his eyes. She shakes his shoulder to bring him back to reality.
'You should really just tell him how you feel, the worst thing that can happen is he says no.'
She signs to him.
"I just can't bring myself to do that, he likes Ikaris too much, if I tell him now, he won't even give me a second thought before saying no."
Druig whispers as he signs what he just said.
Makkari now looked also with sad eyes. Knowing that he is most likely right.
——————
The next day as y/n was making his way out of the domo, he sees ajak talking to ikaris. Ikaris, having a frown on his face. He goes to a nearby wall and leans on it watching the them like a hawk.
"I don't know what to do ajak, these feelings are starting to distract me from this mission. Every fight, I can't help but worry about her, to the point where I lose focus on the fight and look for her."
"Ikaris, she also has feelings for you, but you are blinded by this mission, go and tell her, tell her how much you love her, you might not have the chance to tell her again "
Ikaris looks at Ajak with a resemblance of hope on his face at Ajak's revelation. Starting to walk away, just now noticing y/n staring at him, lost in space. He gives him a smile. As Ikaris leaves, Ajak turns to y/n.
"You know y/n, sometimes people are meant to get hurt for them to rise up, you cannot simply just have a happy ending, there must always be a conflict. A problem, that will always be solved in the end."
Ajak says walking closer to the white haired male.
"I guess you are right, but that doesn't change the fact it hurts."
"That's what love is, pain and happiness, you will only keep hurting if the love is unrequited, but if the love is reflected, it is the most wonderful feeling. Love is pain as well as happiness, you cannot have one without the other."
She says, putting a hand on the man's shoulder rubbing gently.
"Sometimes we don't know who we truly love. Don't rush when it comes to love, take time to notice everything."
She gives him a final smile before walking away.
Y/n stood there, reflecting on Ajak's words.
"Sometimes we don't know who we truly love..."
He said quietly, but not quietly enough for a certain mind controller who had just entered the room to hear.
Now making his way outside, to walk around the city.
——————
As y/n was walking around, he saw Ikaris and Sersi outside of the city, foreheads together.
Even though him and Ikaris, were not together now were they close. Ikaris's next action broke him further.
He kissed her, kissed her with the fire that hasn't gone out ever since they first saw each other, things were immediately getting spicy so y/n walked away slowly but with haste to not be noticed, he walked away with a broken heart. Making his way back to the Domo.
As Druig was about to exit the Domo, he saw y/n on his way towards the Domo, Druig was about to greet him with a smile when he noticed how broken y/n looked, shoulders slumped forward, head down, dragging his steps. As y/n was about to bump into Druig, Druig grabbed his shoulder shaking him a bit, pulling him out of his depressing thoughts.
"Something your mind?"
"Nothing."
You know it's very obvious that you were thinking about something...something quite depressing."
"Fine, I was just having a stroll and spotted Ikaris and Sersi... out on the sands. Doing something."
Y/n went silent for a bit hoping Druig would put two and two together, he looked at Druig seeing his face go a bit red with the image. Y/n giggles a bit at his face, Druig looks down and sees y/n with a smile. He pulled him close hugging him, face on his hair whispering sweet nothings. With the loving gestures from Druig, y/n remembers Ajak's words earlier.
'Sometimes we don't know who we truly love. Don't rush when it comes to love, take time to notice everything.'
Then it clicked, he just wanted to feel love, he rushed, he became attached to Ikaris a little too fast. Not noticing how Druig would look at him. He pulled his head apart from the hug to look up at Druig, admiring his face, the usual cocky smirk now off his face replaced with a worried smile, the usual mischievous look in his eyes replaced with care and love. All he wanted to do was give Druig a kiss. Show him that he can finally see, that he is no longer blinded by desperation, but now his vision was filled with hope and happiness.
Druig notices y/n staring at him with admiration and realization in his eyes. He smiles wider, now with happiness instead of worry.
"You're staring, love."
Y/n turns red at the nickname given to him by Druig.
"N-no I'm n-not!"
Y/n almost shouts in embarrassment, burying his face back into Druig's chest, the mind controller just gives a chuckle at his antics.
"We should go back to the Domo."
"W-w-wait I-i wanna do s-something first."
Y/n stutters out in embarrassment.
"Sure, go ahead."
Druig said with a smirk on his face knowing exactly what it was.
With those words of approval, y/n goes for it, standing on his tippy toes to reach Druig's face.
As their lips touch, with eyes closed, reminiscing the moment, storing it as a core memory of their first kiss, fireworks were exploding in there bellies with joy, as their lips moved in sync, tounges, in a playful fight for dominance, with Druig winning, he doesn't hesitate to immediately explore the other's mouth, tasting everything memorizing his everything that is unknown to him about the other, as their passionate kiss came to an end, needing to pull apart for air, with their foreheads against one another.
"I like you."
Y/n said, hoping Druig won't question why he didn't say love.
Druig noticed how y/n said 'like' and not 'love', but he isn't sad about it, he understands what y/n is going through right now, and he plans on helping him love again, without fear of rejection or heartbreak. Because he deserves to be happy. And Druig will make sure that y/n is happy.
"I like you too"
They stayed there for a bit just held in each other's arms, Druig heard some shifting in the sands, he opens his eyes only to see, Ikaris and Sersi, both looking pretty roughed up.
"They're coming let's go inside."
Y/n let's Druig drag him inside without a question knowing what he meant.
"Let's go to my room, and I will show you just how much I like you, and just how much I can rock your world."
Druig whisper with the cocky smirk, causing y/n to blush so red that he is comparable to a tomato.
"Do your best then."
Y/n says accepting his offer.
Hope you lot liked it.
Idk if my smut was good, but I could give writing smut another shot if y'all want, I can do the smut with this. Give it that hot ending.

As a person who connected with Ikersi I am giving my two cents!
They're a classic case of "love isn't enough". They love each other. Practically flaunt their relationship in everyone's faces when they're together because they're that wrapped up in each other and don't care about anyone else.
I want to know which part of the movie where they flaunt each other when they’re together, and they did not care about anyone else but themselves. Cause during the flashbacks we see them together alone only during the scene in the rocks, the other times they were together was when they were at the village and they weren’t wrapped up in each other because all the time they were interacting with the humans and learning about their culture. And the other major ikersi moment was the wedding in which I understand is their day and it isn’t weddings supposed to be for the couple? They are the highlight because they are getting married. And if they did not care about anyone else why even invite the other eternals to the wedding. Saying that they don’t care about anyone else when Ikaris even had to reassure Ajak that his feelings won’t affect their mission, in my opinion dismissing how they love the other eternals.
But it's not enough. At their core, Sersi and Ikaris are very different people and motivated by very different things. Eventually those things get in the way and they have to let each other go. They simply don't share enough common ground in terms of ideals to make things work which is why ultimately they break up.
If we talk about "core" then we talk about the sole reason that they were made and it was to defend creatures from the deviants in that case they shouldn't even be that different. I agree that at some level they both are different people motivated by different things, Ikaris was designed as a loyal soldier and I think that’s one of the reasons Ajak chose to tell him about the emergence, this is ultimately I believe the reason why they separated. Ikaris said that he left because he couldn’t lie to Sersi and couldn’t bear to see her get hurt when the time comes that they have to let the people of the earth die. Saying that they don’t have common ground when at the very beginning Ikaris was willing to be with the people and to learn about them and their language. Which at the beginning I can see that he did that for Sersi but who are we to say that he won’t eventually love the humans if he had the chance? But he isolated himself because what if he did have the connection with the humans, then he would be hurt himself right?
Sersi loves the humans. Is practically one of them, that's how much she loves living among them and being with them. They fascinate her and she respects them undlessly. Ikaris couldn't care less. He sees them as lesser or expendable.
He is designed that way! They all are. And aren’t humans really less and expendable? We live short and weak as hell, if I was an eternal I would think that way as well, it is what differs Sersi from other eternals because of her love for humans on the moment she saw the planet. But saying that Ikaris couldn’t REALLY care less about the humans is a bit stretch when at the beginning he was learning how pottery, learning about their language and then we see in this scene,
we see him assure the child that she’s safe. He could have left and not have done that but he did. And Ikaris isolated himself because again, he was burnded by the emergence, he had to leave the only person that gives him joy and the chance to know and interact with humans because it would have been too painful. He was beginning to care, if it’s by Sersi’s influence then what of it? Who are people to say he couldn’t change his views when the knowledge of the emergence stopped him to have this strong attachment to humans.
Sersi is unable to understand Ikaris loyalty to Arishem.
He said sorry, she knew why. I thought this was enough to let the viewers know that Sersi understood why he did what he had to do. Sersi approached Ikaris here, she was the one who consoled him and even touched their foreheads together.
Ikaris is unable to understand Sersi's love of the humans.
??????? He doesn’t??? He knew how Sersi loved the humans, I think it's even one of the reasons why he was drawn to her, because it gives him a bit of humanity to him as well, he knew well enough that if she knew about the emergence and could not do anything about it, she would SUFFER.
At the end they reach a point where they respect each other but the love they have has changed.
This is funny to me because at the end, Ikaris didn’t even laser eye beam, couldn't even hold his energy on his eyes because guess what… his love is still the same, he reminisced the love that they had and the love that he has for her. He loved her enough to sacrifice his loyalty to Arishem for HER….. have we missed that part?? In Sersi's perspective her love might have changed and I couldnt not blame her for that, she was the one who got left, she was the one who waited for Ikaris to come back but he didnt and to be angry about that is valid. But to say that Ikaris love has changed defeats the purpose of the flashback cause he still very much love her. And we also have this scene when he said he don't mind leaving the world but he only wishes he would remember her and even confesses that he still loves her so, his love has not changed.
Can't help thinking about the major differences between the three Eternals couples and how, in a way, they're all both parallels and foils for each other.
Sersi and Ikaris are the main couple of the film but the fact that they don't work together is also plain. I mean everyone points out their lack of chemistry but I can't help but feel like that was the point.
They're a classic case of "love isn't enough". They love each other. Practically flaunt their relationship in everyone's faces when they're together because they're that wrapped up in each other and don't care about anyone else. But it's not enough. At their core, Sersi and Ikaris are very different people and motivated by very different things. Eventually those things get in the way and they have to let each other go. They simply don't share enough common ground in terms of ideals to make things work which is why ultimately they break up. Sersi isn't even all that sad about the separation and we know it's been a while so obviously that's the reason but even so, there's an acceptance in her even when she meets Ikaris again. It's an acceptance that things are over and that they're better off that way too.
Sersi loves the humans. Is practically one of them, that's how much she loves living among them and being with them. They fascinate her and she respects them undlessly. Ikaris couldn't care less. He sees them as lesser or expendable. He can tolerate being around them for Sersi but it's not enough for him to change his views on them. He loves her so he does this thing for her except it's not something as simple as sharing a hobby. To Sersi these humans are important. To Ikaris they are not. There is a fundamental divide between ideals here that love simply cannot bridge. They have love. But they do not have understanding. Sersi is unable to understand Ikaris loyalty to Arishem. Ikaris is unable to understand Sersi's love of the humans. And even without understanding, they do not have respect for each others choices, not because they don't want to, but because their choices are on such opposite sides of the spectrum that reaching a middle ground is impossible.
At the end they reach a point where they respect each other but the love they have has changed. They cannot walk the same path and so they turn away from each other and go to walk their own.
Then we have Druig and Makkari.
In a way they're closest to Sersi and Ikaris. Druig is a lot like Ikaris in how stubborn he is and how strongly he stands his ground. But he's a lot like Sersi too in how much he loves the humans and values them for their humanity. Makkari is also Sersi. She loves the humans too. But she loves what they create more and like Ikaris she cannot understand them in why they destroy what they create. But Makkari not understanding the humans doesn't lessen her compassion for them. And Druig not trusting the humans to their own devices doesn't lessen his respect for them as a whole.
In their case, love is enough. Because they have common values. They can weather a separation that comes from a disagreement on this fundamental ideal because they share enough of their other ideals to make it work. Makkari doesn't believe the humans should be controlled. Druig agrees to an extent. It's why he doesn't take over the whole world as he tells Sersi. But he needs his peace of mind and to do that he does control some of them. Makkari respects that is his decision even if she doesn't agree with it.
Everyone says they're best friends to lovers which is true. They are. They know each other inside out. They know each other's highs and lows and support them through it (the "Stay strong" scene). Their relationship is still new in a way or hasn't even really begun which is why they're still playful and childish with each other. They're youthful in their love because it's what they both are. Playful and mischievous. Both like teasing and tricking and playing around. Their personalities mesh in that way as well. They have their differences, but they accept those about each other. They don't just have love. They have understanding and respect for each others choices as well. That's why they work, unlike Sersi and Ikaris. They're able to reach a middle ground even with their disagreement. They have taken the time to grow in themselves apart form each other and come back together when they are ready to grow together. They respect themselves and each other enough to understand that they needed that time apart and once they have come into themselves enough, they are ready to prioritize their relationship together. If they had not done that they would have crashed and burned.
And finally we have Gilgamesh and Thena.
These two can be juxtaposed really nicely with Sersi and Ikaris because unlike those two who are married in name, Gil and Thena are married in action. The whole "In sickness and in health" vow is reminiscent of their relationship because Gilgamesh spends his entire time on Earth after their mission caring for Thena. He says he would "do it again, on every planet." meaning he does not regret it and even if it is difficult (because caring for an ill person is always difficult) he thinks it is worth it. That their relationship is worth it.
Thena and Gilgamesh are two people who love each other, understand each other inside and out and are on the exact same page. She's a warrior goddess and he's a warrior god. Their specializations/powers are matching. They are in perfect harmony even in battle and afterwards they help dust each other off and walk away from the wreckage.
Gilgamesh holding his hand out for Thena after they finish fighting off the deviant in the beginning of the film is very gentlemanly behavior which kind of parallels with Ikaris' propriety in approaching too, further drawing out both the similarities and differences between them.
Gil and Thena are the actual married couple. They have spent every high and low together. They are not just best friendsike Druig and Makkari but they are more because they have grown together and with each other and accommodated each other's growth. We don't see it but it's woven into that relationship. They are strong alone but together they are unstoppable. Their every move is coordinated because they have known each other so long they are so finely in tune with each other and so even if they aren't married in name, we can see they are married in actions.
The Eternals are split into Thinkers and Fighters and its important to note the dichotomy of these in the couples too.
Sersi and Ikaris are a Thinker and Fighter.
Druig and Makkari are a Thinker and Fighter.
Thena and Gilgamesh are Fighter and Fighter.
Drukkari and Ikersi are the same in this regard. They're not exactly on the same page with each other however, as mentioned earlier, Drukkari have an acceptance of each other's choices that Ikersi do not have. This fundament difference in how they go about their relationships is what makes them last. Gilgathena tho, are the exact same category. They're both Fighters, representative of them being on the exact same page completely.
All three couples have their differences from each other but all three also draw remarkable similarities as well which contrast each other enough to act as foils.
Which is why, it's easy to see that Sersi and Ikaris are the couple who tried but couldn't make it work, Druig and Makkari are the couple who know how to settle their differences enough to make it work and Thena and Gilgamesh are the couple who have already withstood the test of time to enforce the strength of their relationship.
I just think it's beautiful that, whether intentional or not, for all the different types of love discussed in Eternals already, there's this clear contrast in all types of romantic love depicted too.
The wizened love that depicts constancy and a long age spent together.
The playful intense love that depicts youth and freshness but something you build to last.
And the worn and weary love that was once bright but now weathered to a good friendship and deep respect but can be nothing more.
Anyway that's just something I had in mind so I wrote up this little think piece. Wouldkbe to hear other opinions on this as well.
#i am ikersi warrior first human second i guess#ikersi#they are soulmates they have fallen in love on every planet thats why ajak was like OK go tell her how you feel#but to dismiss how they are soulmates is weird#people like to dismiss ikersi so much because they have a lot of screentime thats my theory#but anyway#ikaris#sersi
