Absolutely heartbroken, queer people can't never win, ig.

I'm glad that there's more queer representation on media, but almost always is about kids (which is AMAZING!) but I feel that we also need more queer representation where they are adults/middle aged people. There are a lot of people in real life who are learning about themselves and exploring their identities later in life, people who were afraid or denied this freedom that connects with these characters that are going through the same journey.

Max not only butchered the show's budget and shortened the season — decision that affected the development of many characters and relationships, including the polycule — they never cared about the show: S1 had no marketing campaign whatsoever. I, and many others, only heard about the show through other people. S2 came in the middle of the strike. The actors, who so deeply adore the show, couldn't talk about it, and even though max did marketed the show this time, it was awfully done (for example spoiling episodes and memorable scenes, like the final ed & stede reunion even BEFORE the show premiered).

It is easy to say that max/warner never wanted this show to succeed — and ironically, despite their lack of effort, it became one of the most streamed shows from that platform. But apparently, it still wasn't enough.

I'm deeply grateful to David Jenkins and everyone involved in developing this show, so very deeply carefully made!

Thanks to Rhys and Taika for these characters, for every improv and gesture that made them come to life.

To the cast and crew who are in love with the show, just like the fans.

I agree. People need to make a living. They were screwed by max when they canceled the show in pre production. Plans were made calendars cleared and projects turned down because they would be working on S3. I cannot imagine the loss of income they had to suffer through. That goes for Djenkins as well.

That being said, it doesn't mean they can't come back to the show when the time comes. We all know how much the cast and crew love it.

We need to remember how we are living in turbulent times. The streaming industry is in shambles, their stocks keep falling and they are being led by greedy assholes trying to make a profit for themselves at all costs.

Things don't work as they used to do. Nothing makes sense if it doesn't make money in the short term.

My hope is that they have pissed off enough people to run them out. And I think this is where we need to keep applying pressure.

If WB runs out of money to pay their lenders, they will need to start selling their rights to IP at a reasonable price and stop this ridiculous scorched earth policy.

Who knows if the tides will turn for us then?

all i'm saying is it might not be completely over, just whatever deal was being negotiated fell and David wanted to be honest and stop people from expecting announcement anytime soon. it's over for now, but these things can take months, years in some cases. i don't think we should stop being loud about the show, bc who knows, maybe months from now, things could change

I think that's a great point. Definitely continuing to show our love for this show will be the best we can do to support the creators and the cast. I know some folks have mentioned that it's possible David had to make that announcement because the cast themselves needed the green light to move on to other projects, which is a fair assumption in my opinion. I dont think it's over. I think we're still here, we just may need to change the focus of our efforts a bit.
