OKAY SO what with the TWO new Hermits implied by the updated banner I will say that, though the Skizz truthers have me convinced, I now have room to do my own crazy red string monologue and throw my hat in for my choice
Tumblr media
1) Mythical J. Sausage (the J is silent) is a multitalented S-tier builder that absolutely deserves to be shoulder to shoulder with the Hermits. The man does buildings, interiors, terraforming, custom trees, and he does them SO WELL.
2) The production values!!! Beautiful replay mod sequences with shifting camera perspectives, shaders, music that sets the tone for each segment that's different from series to series. He already has more than a million followers on YouTube and for good reason!!
3) He has been SO consistent lately. He started a hardcore world about three months ago (about the time you might expect the Hermits to finalize their s10 choices maybe...???) and already has 15 episodes and hasn't gotten involved in any other big content. (He did just start playing a little of the BCG server but from what I understand that's super casual /copium copium copium).
4) That hardcore world is conveniently about to reach a good "pause" point. He started his world on a cherry blossom biome island that he's filled with a medieval village and starter farms, he's said it's almost full and what's left is the castle. I'm guessing the new season will start the first week of February, so if Sausage puts out a video this week building out that Castle and finishing that island it will be MIGHTY CONVENIENT TIMING.
5) This man can GRIND. His Hardcore world hasn't even been going half a year and he's built... So much??? Magnificent! And when he was on the Hermitcraft server he did the Razorcrest for scar AND the player head baby yoda/stormtrooper merch AND the noteblock themesong AND still built in the xmas village and other "diamond of peace" and so many other shenanigans. Did the man even sleep? He can grind with the best of them.
6) He can do redstone, too! Maybe not unique designs, I honestly don't know, but he builds farms for build materials no problem.
7) The DRAMA this man loves his improv and his backstory and trauma lore! For every series he does! Can you imagine if he gets to interact with Ren for an extended period of time, what that would do to them, to us?? Give Martyn a run for his money!!
8) Which brings me to my next point, which is that Sausage is already One of The Gang, because he's been in series with so many of the Hermits already! Empires and the crossover, obviously, but also Pirates with Cleo and Origins with Scar, and he's even done MCC! Joel is the only other player with the same depth of different series but there are other people truthing him already.
9) The EPIC BROMANCE with Pearl. My god the devotion of this man to his sunflower goddess bestie. I would try to do ot justice but y'all have seen floweroflaurelins work, you already know.
10) He's already a PG streamer but with HILARIOUSLY PG-13 tendencies. Imagine him and Cleo cracking each other up at an HHH stream, *grips your shoulders* IMAGINE IT.
11) Sausage comes with his own mascot in the form of interdimensional dog extraordinaire Bubbles, but he's also just an animal lover on general. Mans drinks his "I love Jellie" juice and had her in his world even before the sad news of her loss.
12) Diversity win! No one should be hired just for their gender, race, sexuality etc etc unless it's truly necessary to the job, but we were all happy when more women got added to the server in s8 and I know a lot of people would be happy to see some ethnic diversity added, too.
... That bulletin board had a lot more pins in it than I thought it did but anyway MYTHICALSAUSAGE TRUTHERS/ALL OTHER TRUTHERS RISE UP SPEAK YOUR TRUTH! we'll only get to wildly speculate for a few weeks so we might as well make it everyone else's problem ENJOY IT TO THE FULLEST!!

Hey there, Paul McGann girlies (gender neutral) of Tumblr!
We're Girlies for McGann, a new podcast all about the work of everyone's favorite Doctor (or, at least ours). It's been a minute since either of the girlies behind this show have had to introduce themselves on Tumblr (we're old veterans of this place), but this seems like the best time to do so!
So who are we? Well, we're just like any other McGann fans on Tumblr, really. Co-host Katie dragged co-host Maggie into the world of all things Paul McGann shortly after they met in 2017, and it's been downhill from there since she pirated the Doctor Who movie in college. Just add a couple of microphones and the fact that one of us gets paid to talk about movies for a living and you've got the perfect formula for a podcast covering every McGann title imaginable.
With a couple of exceptions — because y'all know how hard it is to find some of Paul's work — we're covering his entire oeuvre, from popular titles like Doctor Who and Withnail & I to the stuff that people hardly remember, from Paper Mask to Give Me a Break and more. (Don't worry, we'll def be talking about Big Finish too.) Episodes hit your preferred platform twice a month, and we have weekly special goodies that we drop for each corresponding title. (We're on Insta & Twitter as @girlies4mcgann too!)
We've got five episodes out right now, covering titles like The Biographer, Hotel!, and Downtime, with plenty more to come in the future, including (hopefully) some special surprises along the way! We might be a little bad at the whole socials thing (12+ years on fandom Tumblr does not exactly translate to good social media skills, lol), but we sincerely hope you'll join us on this journey and let us know what you think!

You Can't Erase Me
One Piece fanfic, part 10: Calico Jack
Previous parts are in my pinned masterlist.
A woman enslaved by the celestial dragons is found by a man with red hair. Angst and comedy ensues.
A/N: Y'all know the drill. This chapter is the one that inspired this entire story. I was driving and listening to this song when a great idea that I really hope doesn't suck exploded into my head. Also I finally got a new computer since I've been working a couple of jobs this summer before moving back to college.
Also I would like to preface this chapter by saying this has a good bit of dancing described in it. The only experience I have with dancing is country western swing dancing and white person line dancing. It might be bad. Dead dove do not eat.
TW: Bad descriptions of dancing and music, thirsting over a vampire, alcohol consumption, drunkenness, Shanks
The first swig from Maria's bottle was, frankly put, fucking terrible. This was the crap Shanks was always chugging?
As I spluttered, trying my best to hand back the bottle before I dropped it, Maria and her friend were giggling behind polite hands.
"Never had liquor before? Traveling with Red-Hair? And I'd bet money on you being almost ten years older than the two of us."
Almost ten years? How young were these girls? How old was I?
"Listen, I had some health problems, alright? And how old do you think-"
Maria's hands shot up in surrender. "Sorry, didn't mean anything by it, we didn't know."
Her friend, still slightly giggling, took the bottle from me and took a swig herself.
"Look, this stuff is cheap, so it isn't about tasting it, you've gotta just let it be nasty and focus on what it's doing to you." She handed it back to me, her long nails curled around the bottle neck.
It tasted just as nasty the second time, but at least I was prepared for it. I swallowed it quickly, doing my best to keep a straight face.
As Maria took the bottle back to hide it away, her friend started to study me, clicking her tongue occasionally. My face burned a bit at being studied again, and it made me wonder if I really looked as good as I felt.
"Maria, you really don't miss, do you?" She laughed, and started to head back down the hall, seemingly satisfied. "Let the newbie know what her big job is tonight, and have her watch during the first couple of songs, so she at least doesn't go in blind."
"Yeah, yeah," Maria called back, shaking her head. "A control freak, that one."
Fiddling with the lace on my corset, I watched Maria finish adjusting herself in the mirror. After she seemed satisfied, she beckoned me to follow her as she went down the hallway after her friend.
"So- what is it that I have to do, exactly?" I ask, nervously gripping my skirt, trying to adjust to walking in it.
"So, every week we have a night where we do the Calico Jack- one of the older, tougher girls is picked to find someone in the crowd to dance with to a song about running off with a pirate." She stopped to adjust a strap on one of her shoes, and I almost run into her. "I personally don't see the appeal in it, and neither does Delilah, but it always brings in a big crowd of rowdy men who pay plenty money to drink and feed their egos if the girl picks 'em."
"That's why we get a grown woman to do it, too- in case a fight breaks out over who gets picked, the dancer doesn't get hurt." She continues. "We try to stay away from the really wild ones- we had a big ginger muscleheaded prick get upset a while back, his blonde boy-toy or whatever had to drag him out."
My mouth had gone quite dry at this point, though whether it was from the liquor or my nerves I wasn't quite sure. I had to dance with a stranger? Hell, I don't think I'd ever danced before. My plans for tonight were to maybe dance with Benn, and then to just listen to something other than the crew's terrible singing. And yet, here I was, painted as a doll ad about to be strung up like a puppet because of some old woman I didn't even know.
"Do I-?"
"Yes, you have to do it, I'd like to keep my room and my nice-paying job, thank you very much." Maria was trying to sound confident and relaxed, but I could see the sweat starting to bead on her neck and face. "Listen, no one would question it if you just picked Red-Hair, and you'd likely avoid a fight that way too, no one would argue that he's handsome and powerful."
I started to argue about calling Shanks anything other than annoying, but I stopped myself- I couldn't deny she had a point. No one would recognize me as the girl he came with, and he was powerful enough to avoid confrontation with someone else. Shit, she might've just given me an easy way out of this mess. I would just get the one dance over with and-
"Of course, before that dance, you've gotta join the rest of the tavern dancers since we're short one."
Of course.
She shoved me, clearly seeing my face. "Listen, it really isn't as bad as it sounds. For whatever reason, the boss has faith in you. She doesn't just drag random strangers out of the crowd- well, at least not all the time." She said with a laugh.
As we neared the end of the hallway, I was expected to be met with some kind of music, or lights like before. Instead, the dance hall was dark and quiet, with only the light hum of hushed conversation. Maria was gripping my shoulder, and I could see her straining to get a glimpse of something off to our right. I tried to follow her gaze, but all I could get was dim outlines of figures, and the flash of something shiny reflecting the dim light of the hallway.
As Maria's grip tightened, chills shot through my body. A whisper from the right made the room a silent vacuum, and I strained to hear the words.
"Hickory, oak, pine and weed-" A small flame flickered in the distance, lighting up the face of the old woman who'd woken me up. Delilah. Her voice was softer, yet somehow stronger when she was singing. Perhaps it was the lack of grouch. A drum was the only instrument playing, only hitting one note to make a beat.
"Bury my heart underneath these trees-" My body froze, waiting for the adverse reaction I'd had when Emily had been preforming.
"And when a southern wind comes to raise my soul-" She drew out the last note in a slight vibrado, and I found myself wondering how the hell I knew that.
"Spread my spirit like a flock of crows." I saw the flash again, and as I focused, I could make out someone holding a guitar, a sleek, slim version of the one Yassopp owned but couldn't play.
"'Cause I loved ya for too long, I loved ya for too long," Her voice was getting stronger, and louder, the den-den mushi in front of her picking up more sound.
"I loved ya for too long-" She held the last note in a vibrado again, holding it out until she was nearly whispering again. Her voice was admittedly beautiful, if not a bit haunting.
"Old heat of a raging fire, Come and light my eyes Summer's kiss through electric wire- But I'll never die-"
The stage lights all came on at once, showing off just how massive it was. A full band stood to the left of Delilah, while a handful of the girls I'd seen earlier were standing to the right, all with their own den-den mushi. On the same beat, as Delilah shifted to a full belt on the end of "die," the girls burst into operatic backup vocals, and the band started playing at top volume. The drum continued at a slightly faster pace, and the guitar strummed at a slow, steady pace to match it, contrasting the passionate voices of Delilah and her choir.
"Sycamore, ash, moss and loam Wrap your roots all around my bones And when they come for me When they call my name Cast my shadow from a bellow's flame-"
Chills ran up my spine, and my heart seemed to seize in my chest. I panicked, thinking I would pass out again, but my breath remained steady, and my mind clear. What the hell was going on?
"Cause I loved ya for too long I loved ya for too long I loved ya for too long So let the storm come-"
My body trembled, my mouth was dry once again, and the back of my neck was coated in a sheen of sweat. My heart was pounding against my ribs, my eyes watered, and I wanted to scream.
"Old heat of a raging fire Come and light my eyes Summer's kiss through electric wire But I'll never die I will never die You can bury my body but I'll never die-"
It was the best thing I could ever remember experiencing. Like a piece of me I'd been searching for ever since I woke up on that damned ship had finally come back.
I loved music. I've always loved music. I could feel it in the depths of my soul, in every bone in my body.
My entire life, I have always loved music.
The way Delilah ripped through the vocals was a storm tearing through the fields of my mind. Every sound I could make out on that stage rocked me to my core.
Watching Delilah's passion was almost as good as listening to it. Her eyes seemed to be gleaming like fire, and she spit out every word as if she had lived through the song over and over again, like she'd truly meant all of it. I'd believe it if they said she was an immortal deity from her stage presence alone.
Her boots stomping caught my attention as she transitioned to the bridge. All instruments but the drum had stopped playing again, and I could hear the thunder of voices in the crowd join her.
"In the dead of night I'm gonna loose these chains Mmm, I'm gonna run and run and run and run and run I'm gonna run and run and run and run Coming for you again Oh, coming for you again-"
The instrumental that followed blew me away once again. I never knew someone could make the instrument Roux purposefully hid from Yassopp sound so damn beautiful. Leading up to the last run of the chorus, Delilah was screaming her vocals, and a new chill ran through my body.
I need to do that one day.
All I wanted, with my entire being, was to be singing these songs with as much passion as she did, in the hopes I could feel something other than fear, anger, or shame.
As Delilah sang the final chorus, she spread her arms, letting her large coat that had been hanging over her shoulders fall to the ground. She was surprisingly muscular for her age, and-
Holy shit, she didn't have any hands.
Her arms ended at the wrists, and were webbed in a messy array of scars. The crowd screamed at the reveal, whether out of fear or something else, I couldn't quite tell.
Maria started to cheer at my side, startling me. She started shaking my arm and bouncing up and down, still yelling her ass off. I didn't pay much attention to it, distracted by Delilah's performance. It wasn't that her lack of hands was a shock in itself; I'd seen where Shanks had lost his plenty. I simply wondered how in the world she'd slapped me so effectively earlier.
"You ready?" Maria yells in my ear, her voice fuzzy with all the noise.
"Ready for wh-" And she shoved me in the direction of the stage as the room grew dark again. I flailed about and stumbled a bit, before one of the male dancers, a dark-haired, freckled young man, caught my arm.
"Newbie, right? You know the Mull River Shuffle, yeah?" He hooks his arm in mine, pulling me to the opposite side of the now empty dance floor.
"The fucking what-"
"Yeah, Maria said you might not, don't worry, you just gotta follow my lead. You dance some, yeah?"
"No-"
The guitar starts a faster rhythm than before, and the lights flash on again, making my vision spotty. My partner squeezes my arm, catching my attention before he starts moving around the floor with the other dancers in a wide circle. The more we moved, the slower and dizzier I felt we were moving. The steps I took to mirror his were clumsy, and my neck burned in shame at how stupid I likely looked.
"You know, Maria failed to mention she got you drunk as hell." What?
"I'm not-"
"Not even the clutziest of kids are so unsure of where their own damn foot is. You're thinking way too hard, you've gotta trust yourself. The liquor is supposed to take away fear, not grace."
I'm not sure why I giggled, and as we paused to turn and move the opposite direction, my body still felt it was moving around.
"I'm about to spin you towards the middle, don't puke." He was irritated now, and I felt terrible. He hadn't asked for a shitty partner tonight, yet here I was. I just let him sling my body around, and I grew a bit lightheaded at the speed.
"That wasn't half bad, think you can go faster?" The relief that flooded me was almost overwhelming, and I couldn't help but giggle again. I'm not sure why the little phrase had made me so happy.
Trust yourself.
The words rang in my ear as the tempo of the song picked up again, and the group of dancers split down the middle, my partner shoving me gently to line up opposite him.
As everyone stepped toward the middle again to meet their partners, I did the same; although I was half a stride behind them. My partner made up for the time, quickly spinning us around and pushing me in the direction he'd come from.
The more I relaxed, and the more I let myself move and spin and step to the music, the more fun I let myself have. This wasn't exactly what I had in mind when Shanks had made me leave the ship, but I had to admit to myself that I was actually having a great time.
"Told you, just let go." He was smiling at me now, and I couldn't help but excitedly smile back.
"You know, I've never danced as far back as I can remember." I wasn't sure why it felt so good just to talk for the hell of it.
"Yeah, I could kind of tell that when we started."
I giggled again, then had to catch my breath as he spun me around again.
"Yeah, I don't think I've ever had so much fun."
It was his turn to laugh then, before we split into two lines again. He didn't have to push or pull me this time, and I was able to keep up with the pace of the rest of the line.
As the song ended, he pulled me over to Maria, who was still standing off to the side of the stage.
"You've got to stop giving me the drunk ones, man." He elbows Maria in the ribs, and she laughs, shoving him away.
"It looks like she got the hang of it by the end, be grateful she didn't vomit on you or something, Zutsu," she said, reaching over to fix my skirt.
"We've got Rove and Go next, you know that one?" Zutsu asks. "I'm not sure where the hell you came from, but I don't know anyone that doesn't know the Rove."
For some odd reason, I felt I did know the song, like it was some common knowledge that was ridiculous not to remember.
"Maybe? I'm not sure-"
"Good enough, maybe it'll jog your memory when you hear it." He pulled me back to the dance floor, into a line of dancers that snaked through the entire hall. "Listen, I usually take the lead on this one, but we'll stick to the back to keep you comfortable."
And keep me from embarrassing you. I couldn't even bring myself to be upset, Maria made it sound like the quality of performances were held in high regard by everyone here.
The tempo of this song started much faster than the last, the drums kicking in at full volume, followed by a fiddle that was one of the sweetest sounds I'd ever heard.
It was the first line of the song that sent a cold shock down my spine, and made sweat cling to my face.
Why shouldn’t she go she’s only ninety?
Delilah held out the last note of the line, and my skin grew clammy. I knew this song. I was sure I'd known this song almost as long as I had loved music itself. My hand shook in Zutsu's, and he squeezed it, muttering, "Don't puke yet," as he started stomping his feet on beat with the rest of the dancers. As if they had a mind of their own, my feet did the same.
I know the dance. I could remember every movement to the dance Zutsu was about to lead me through. I could hear it in my head, to the rhythm of the song, in counts of four.
Stomp, shuffle, stomp, shuffle-
Scoot back, back, back-
Away from your partner, back to your partner-
Holy shit.
"Look at you, you do know this one." Zutsu says, loosening his grip on my hand.
I wanted to cry, puke, and laugh all at once. I used to dance. I had to have grown up dancing. To my disappointment, I couldn't remember any more dances offhand, but it did little to stifle my excitement.
Every step, every dip, and every spin made my heart feel as it were flying through the sky over the bright ocean, free as a wild bird. I was addicted to the dizziness, the breathlessness, and the feeling of my body moving with the music. This, right here, was something I'd been born to do. I felt it in my soul the same way I'd felt when I heard Delilah sing. My body, mind, and spirit felt at peace, and I felt like I had some kind of purpose other than being the crew's fragile pet.
"Hey-" Zutsu's voice cut through my thoughts. "During the bridge, when the fiddle goes crazy, we don't keep in line, we'll split off and start two-stepping around the audience, try to get them to dance, yeah?"
"Oh- alright, got it," I said quickly. Relief swept through me as I realized I knew exactly what he was talking about. Two-stepping with a partner was one of the most basic skills I'd learned when I was just a kid- how I knew that, I had no idea. I couldn't picture memories so much as feel it, my mind trying to grasp some physical evidence that wasn't there.
Zutsu pulled me to face him, and he kept his back in the direction we traveled as we kept a fast paced two-step. I fell into the rhythm he set easily, and almost wept at how at home it all felt: the fast pace, the grip he had on my hand, and even the burning in my right calf and left hip.
"You had to have been holding out on me before," Zutsu laughed, guiding me in an impromptu spin that had a small part of the audience cheering. "You dance as naturally as you breathe when you know what the hell you're doing."
I giggled back, heart soaring at the compliment. It made me want to try more, to do something other than-
"You wanna try swing dancing some?" He asks, as if he read my mind.
I nodded eagerly, my heart pounding again as I recall the term, knowing exactly what he meant.
He pushed me out and away from him, before pulling me back in. I knew the steps by heart, I could feel them in my feet and fingers as I ducked under his arms and spun behind him, before twisting around as he caged me in his arms. He spun me around as fast as I could twice, before finishing with a dramatic dip, my "hair" nearly touching the floor.
"Please tell me you're sticking around after tonight, you're the first partner I've had that could move so damn fast."
I clicked my tongue, looking up at him with a twinge of disappointment. "I'm honestly sorry, but I'm just passing through with a group of- with a crew," I finished hastily.
He raised a brow. "Red-Haired Pirates, right? I'm pretty sure I saw you come in on the captain's arm."
I grimaced at the notion my disguise hadn't worked as well as I'd hoped. "I- yeah," I muttered weakly, sheepishly looking at the floor.
"Don't sweat the whole Emily thing," he shrugged, and did his best to wipe a few droplets of sweat from his cheek. "I only knew it was you because I've been staring you in the face, and I was close by when they dragged you backstage. No one in the audience will be able to tell." He poked me playfully. "Not even your Calico Jack of the night."
I groaned at the mention of that stupid dance. "Why do I-"
"Please don't get me booted from this place by answering that honestly. I'd hate to say anything untoward about my boss and her- interesting notions."
I decided not to press the issue, and to take comfort in the fact that Shanks was here for me to make an easy pick. I was also itching with curiosity to hear every song of the night, and to see if I could recall any more dances.
I wasn't sure my legs could take another step as the song finally ended. Zutsu made sure I took a long swig of water and sat down for a minute before disappearing backstage, leaving me with a very bouncy and tipsy Maria.
"That was- burp- incredible!" she shouted, throwing an arm around me. "No offense, but I thought it'd all go to shit."
I grimaced, choosing to focus on the compliment. "Yeah, thanks."
"You knowwww- the next dance is allll yours," she giggled, then nearly knocked me over trying to wave at one of her friends.
My mouth went dry. Already? I thought I'd have a couple more dances to get more comfortable, maybe figure out something simple to start the song with.
"Don't even sweat it, baby, you'll do great." She fixes one of the stray curls stuck in the top of my corset. "Plus, you look great, so it won't even matter."
Her reassurance did little to ease the nausea building in my gut.
---
I'll never forget the song that echoed through the room next. It wasn't anything spectacular, like the operatic section of the first performance. It was just a small tradition in a dance hall that would one day outlive me. But one moment in that song changed my life forever.
The Calico Jack song was an old ballad about a young lady running from her abusive marriage to live on the sea after meeting a handsome pirate in a tavern.
Of course, the only thing I knew at the time was that I had walk around at least once in the room, and pick a partner before the first chorus of the song started playing.
"It was a borin' Evenin' Down at the tavern My husband left for sea again And I was sick of waitin'-"
The song started, and I could feel my heart in my throat as I started my walk around the room.
All you have to do is walk once around and then to Shanks.
My steps felt too loud, the room was too big, and I was moving too fast, not really paying attention to who was actually there.
Look up, look up, look up, look up-
I tried to convince the crowd that I was looking, studying for the most eligible one there. I couldn't convince myself into thinking I was giving a good performance, however. My heartbeat grew louder as the audience cheered when I walked by, and I gave a weak smile, trying to look like I knew what the hell I was doing.
"Sick of drinkin' And thinkin' And questioning my measure Then suddenly A breeze came through the door-"
And then I caught a glimpse of him.
The most beautiful man I could ever think up in my head was sitting on the outermost edge of the crowd, sipping a glass of wine. He had a feathered hat that hung low over his face, but it wasn't enough to conceal his eyes- bright gold, with rings of orange, the strangest eyes I'd ever seen. His hair and beard were nearly black, but against his pale skin I could see the slightest tinge of brown. He was all sharp angles; high cheekbones, a sharp jawline and nose, even his facial hair was shaved into neat lines.
"He was smilin' Blindin' The pirate, Jack Rackham He tipped his hat and that was that I was in love with him-"
I would've liked to say that the great golden sword leaning on the table was what I saw next, but I couldn't. His large coat was ornate and expensive-looking; it was also completely open, his torso completely bare, save for a large golden cross hanging from his neck. Damn. That's all I could think- damn. He was, with no other way to put it, absolutely gorgeous.
And the little, nagging, tempting thought that I both curse and thank God for to this day wouldn't hush in my head. Ask him to dance.
And I wanted to. So, so, badly did I want to walk right up with all the confidence in the world and ask him to dance with me. It felt as if my entire body was burning at the prospect of even looking at him again.
"Oi, over here, Spooky!" Shanks was in front of me now, grinning and waving like the idiot he was. I mustered a weak smile back, quickening my pace and trying to ignore the feeling that the entire room was watching my every move.
Benn had to reach over and keep Shanks from standing to pull me into a hug, which I thanked him for with a polite smile. Yasopp was trying his best to make me lose my composure with stupid faces, and I was failing miserably at keeping my lips from twitching.
Maria was giving me a cheerful thumbs up, Zutsu and her blonde friend, whose name I really needed to learn, by her side as I passed around a second time. This round, I couldn't help but look for the beautiful man. Half of me hoped he wasn't there, and I wouldn't have to worry about getting up the courage to ask him anything, but the other half would have been crushed if he was gone.
He was still there, still sipping from his wine glass, in the exact same position as before, and still as devastatingly gorgeous.
Ask him, you'll regret it if you don't.
Yeah, sure, and embarrass myself to pieces if he refuses me.
I paused for an instant, hearing what sounded like the first line of the pre-chorus from Delilah. Shit shit shit shit shit-
I had to hurry along, or I'd make a fool of myself regardless of who I picked.
Shanks. I'll just go to Shanks. Maybe Benn, if he's too drunk.
But my feet carried me, trembling, to the man sipping his wine.
"Calico Jack Calico Jack I've never met a man here looking like that-"
Still trembling, I held out my hand. His eyes seemed to cut into me like knives, and he didn't move.
But neither did I.
The room had gone silent, and all I could hear was Delilah's voice and the band. Beads of sweat gathered on my forehead, and my hand faltered slightly. I did my best to give a polite smile to him, praying he would hurry up and either refuse me or take my hand.
"Calico Jack You've met your match Calico Jack Won't you give me my heart back-"
I started to turn away, ready to just ask Shanks, or piss myself, whichever came first, before I felt it.
His hand wasn't particularly warm, and it was rough with calluses that I presumed were from the giant sword sitting beside him. His touch was tentative for a split second, before committing and fully grabbing it before standing.
Damn, he was tall. I was eye-level with his collarbone, and was trying my best not to gawk at the chest below it when he gingerly grabbed my waist. I jumped at first, forgetting why I'd come up to him in the first place.
"Your friends have been trying to get you to back away since they saw you looking this way. Should you have listened?"
As bored as his tone sounded, his voice melted me like butter. Fuck. This was embarrassing.
"I just- it felt right to ask you," I blabbered, trying to avoid eye contact with him.
He let out a hmf before stepping closer toward me. I snapped out of my trance at the proximity, and hurriedly stepped out toward the dance floor, pulling him with me. Maria and the rest of the dancers were in my peripheral, all looking as if I'd died in front of them.
Was it so hard to believe I could get a good-looking stranger to dance with me? I'd thought that at least Maria had some faith in me.
We settled into a fast-paced rotating two-step, and as we passed around the room, the audience grew rowdy again. I hadn't realized my decision had held so much weight here, but perhaps the little custom meant more to people here than I realized.
I dared to look back up at his face, and instantly started to sweat again as his gazed pierced through me. Shit, he was even more beautiful up close. He'd taken the lead in the dance now, and surprisingly, held himself with the grace of an experienced dancer. Judging by his looks, I could have guessed he'd waltzed or something fancy like that at some point in his life, but he didn't seem the type to be in a dark, noisy place like this. Nor did he seem to be the type to take part in dancing recreationally as a whole.
Too nervous to say anything directly to him, I offered him my best version of a pleasant smile. He remained stoic, but I could have sworn I saw the corner of his mouth prick up.
I was trying my damnest to ignore the lovely shape of his lips when he asked, "What's your name?" it was a piss-poor, stiff attempt at being polite, but I appreciated it nonetheless.
"Jett."
"How lively."
I hummed in response, unsure of what to say.
"Your first dance tonight was... interesting to watch."
Oh, that was mortifying. My face burned, and I could feel my palms growing sweaty.
"I, uh, I'm new here, I hadn't danced in a while, and-"
"You were drunk?" The corner of his lip was quirked up again, just barely noticeable.
"Yeah, but-"
"And now-"
"There's no need for you to be an asshole," I muttered, my embarrassment reaching my tongue before common sense could hold it.
He gave the impression that not many people stood up to him with the way his brows furrowed just slightly. Thankfully for me, he also seemed to want to keep his composure.
He liked being in control.
Perhaps it was the lingering effects of alcohol that made me gather the courage, but that one slip in his stoic expression made me determined to make him crack.
Perhaps a small part of me wanted to see him really smile.
"So- you've been watching me tonight?"
"Don't flatter yourself."
"That didn't answer the question."
"Please, if I wanted to watch someone drunkenly stumble about, I wouldn't have come all the way here." He was trying so hard to stay grumpy, it was laughable.
As controlled as his expression was, he had one fatal tell- those pretty eyes. And they seemed to like to shift the slightest bit down every now and then before looking me in the face again. There.
"You know, you might think my dancing is subpar, but you certainly don't mind peeking at my-"
His grip tightened on my waist, although his face remained neutral. Leaning down, the brim of his hat grazed my temple.
"You are the last one who can make any comments about any sort of inappropriate glances, dear." As he withdrew, he brushed a stray curl over my shoulder.
I hated that he was right, and his touching wasn't doing much to help my case.
Neither was that very open coat that revealed a little more of his waist each time stepped with his right foot. What was somehow more impressive was that he was completely unfazed by dancing. I was sweating and aching, and a few annoying bits of my "hair" kept sticking to the back of my neck.
As thrilled as I was at the chance to dance with such a handsome man, I couldn't help but think it was such a pity he turned out to be so glum. Witty, certainly, but still a bit sour. To be fair, I also couldn't judge him based on his attitude, as I also wasn't exactly sunshine and rainbows.
We were actually quite alike, I found, as the dance ended, and the two of us were promptly pulled aside by a very loud ginger man. It seemed the both of us were equally as annoyed by him.
"Oi, Hawkeyes, I didn't know you had that in you," Shanks was slightly slurring his words, but still remained perfectly upright.
Hawkeyes? Oh, shit-
I'd just danced with the world's strongest swordsman, a fucking warlord, Dracule "Hawkeyes" Mihawk.

LONG POST
hate to be serious for a second guys but I'm seriously thinking about leaving the hazbin hotel fandom, and its because i just cant fucking stand vivsie
i haven't supported her in any way ever since i heard about her history which was a while ago, maybe around when she finished her first season of helluva boss. well i stopped watching that, and hadnt planned to watch hazbin when it finally came out until one of my friends encouraged me to. so i had pirated all of it, that way i wouldn't support vivsie in any way, and for a while ive been okay with it, until now.
its not just the fact that i dont wanna watch a show because its by her, its because of all the messed up shit thats in the show, and plus how the fandom is (NOT pointing any of you guys out, you're all great).
For one, it feels like vivienne has such a terrible grudge on Christianity. im not Christian myself, im more or less an agnostic, but i still respect Christianity extremely, along with every other religion and belief as people should. The fact that the whole basis of her story and the way she presents it is a warped telling of Christian places (heaven and hell) and figures (angles, demons, Lucifer) is kinda disrespectful. i get that there are tons of other movies and shows that fantasize christianity and stuff, but hazbin hotel feels like vivienne is just trying and WANTING to outright insult the religion. taking such a big figure such as lucifer and making him goofy as hell, or showing that heaven is full of nothing but assholes, with ADAM being the biggest fuck of them all, just feels too far to me personally.
don't get me wrong, the chance that there are demons in hell that can redeem and be good people and that not everyone in heaven is perfect makes for a great story in my opinion, but i think that plot could be written and presented so much better than what vivsie's done
secondly, there are too many characters in the show that make me so uncomfortable and disgusted, and what's bad is these characters seem really glamorized. im talking about valentino. HE IS A LITERAL ACTIVE SEXUAL ASSUALTER WHO CONSTANTLY ABUSES ANGEL. THAT IS NOT OKAY. THAT IS A HUGE RED FLAG. but guess what, hes still fucking glamorized. not just by vivsie herself but by the fandom as well. you would think something bad would happen to him personally in the show to pay for his actions, but the worst i can remember happening to him is getting bit by fucking niffty, and angel standing up to him, BUT THAT IS NOT HIS DEFEAT. HE IS CONTINUOUSLY SHOWED THROUGHOUT THE SHOW BEING WRITTEN OFF LIKE NOTHING'S WRONG. His friendship with velvet and vox is seen as positive and even cute. i dont like vox much either because of the very fact that he makes out with valentino, and it makes me wonder if vivsie wrote vox off to know that valentino commits sexual abuse. if she did, then that means vox knows he's literally making out with a groomer and yet is okay with it. im gonna fucking explode
the fandom can be just terrible in the fact that people know all this but don't give a shit anyhow and draw/ write all the disgusting, shitty characters glamorized anyway cause they're messed up and think they're hot or whatever (VALENTINO). that's it. ive seen it in this community. there was a post about him where he teased y/n and it was meant to be seen positively. it got popular pretty fast. again, im gonna fucking explode. also, there's the deal with Alastor. IT IS CANON HE IS AROACE. But I have seen the fandom completely ignore that and sexualize him so much im starting to lose faith in humanity.
so yeah, i could keep going a bit but i think y'all get the point. i MIGHT not leave completely because i dont hate everything about the show, but by that i mean that husk and angel's relationship are like the only thing i care about. you MAY still see those two on here every once in a while, but that's it
so.. sorry guys, but i hope ive made yall understand

Hwah...
I'm not gonna finish these before Art Fight starts, but I still wanted to do this as a personal project.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, after getting prompted by my buddy @gingerweed-man (thanks for the suggestion ^o^), I feel like designing some more seals for "Animal Crossing: Open Seas", my fantasy AC sequel. I posted a sketch of the base model and a potential villager already, but I wrote down some ideas for a few more. Too many ideas.
So, I want y'all to vote on which concept you'd like to see most. I'll try to do the top 3, but eventually I would like to draw all of them~ If you have more than one favorite, feel free to reply with your second and/or third runner's up.
*If you don't know these personalities, click the link to my original post about AC: Open Seas.

I need to know where I can watch English Translation of Destiny seeker! 🙏
Because I have seen colour pics already and I’m SURE you have already done a write up on it and I almost refuse to look it up because I want to watch and do the theory to as big an extent for myself to test myself because it’s looks the most clear colour blue boy, red boy colour swaps I can see and just from the pictures.
So in conclusion, this is a desperate request for help on where I find it to watch, but also links to yours or others theories so I can read through after my watch. A kind thank you to you in advance, from a fan who now has a clear problem with colour shows because of you. Said with love 💕 💓
Anon, you gave a lot of compliments, but I have to ask . . .
Tumblr media
If I give you the details, are you only going to use that information with the best intentions to watch a show gray that can't be found on international platforms?
Are you going to do something strange with the information like snitch to the internet police?
I'm trusting you, but I also don't know where you are located so although these work from me in the land of red solo cups and ranch dressing, they might not work for you:
YouTube - seigthy04 subbed all of them. Sometimes the subs are difficult to comprehend, but you don't see me translating Thai in my spare time for free, so I'll take several seats. Bilibili's site also uses seigthy04's videos.
Kisskh dot co - All episodes are available and ThaiBL92 subbed most (if not all if them). Subs are solid.
Dailymotion - Saranghae55 and Boys love . BL have all of them between the two channels.
Dramacool - Use Firefox and get a pop-up blocker uBlock Origin, so you don't have to fight the ads popping up in new windows.
I want everyone to experience Destiny Seeker because it was such a treat, but in case some of you are new to the pirate life, this post is an excellent introduction to staying safe while trying to find media on the world wide web.
Also know that Destiny Seeker is an easy colors watch. There is nothing subtle about the colors in it. I have faith that you will know them immediately in the first ten minutes of the first episode. Therefore, I and others didn't do too many write-ups about it:
Color-Coding - I wrote this once I finished watching the series so it's a general overview of the colors in the show.
Pre-Watch - Once again, very general post about the colors before I started watching it.
The 1st Color Exchange
The 2nd Color Exchange
The 3rd Color Exchange - NSFW
However, as you and more people watch it, I hope to see more write-ups about it like what's happening with To Sir, With Love MONTHS later (what took y'all so long to believe us?!). I want people writing about how much they love Songkhram and Ai, the plot with Meen and Pipe, the baby gays (someone tell me their names), and the overall show. I want MORE!
Tumblr media
Good luck with your watch, not-a-narc.

ATEEZ Group Natal Chart
Alrighty, I'm a couple shots into this pleasant Friday, I've finished my laundry, and Wooyoung took his shirt off at the concert last night. What a time to be alive. Anywho, I decided to pull up the group chart for Ateez as a whole to see if there was anything interesting and was happily entertained.
The birth time referenced is the drop time of the Pirate King video (9:00 UTC or 6 PM in Seoul)
Tumblr media
Firstly, fuck an introverted chart, this shit is all about presentation. Just like the dear Captain, this group is a heavy Scorpio. Big Mars energy, though this time it's being ruled by a Mars in Aquarius of all things. While on a person, I would be moderately terrified of this placement- for a group, I think it helps soften their overall image. Or neutralize it from being so aggressively masculine.
I think the most interesting part is that Sun conjunct the Pars Fortunae in the seventh house. Literally, their fortune comes from themselves/their image in the the eyes of others. Amazing. Jupiter and Mercury also sitting there really solidifies that angle for success. Now, with all that sitting across from the ascendant, I think that points to it not being true to the identities of the members themselves, but you'd have to go back to the individual charts to see how they feel about that. For people like Seonghwa (heavy Mars chart) and Hongjoong (Scorpio motherfucker), probably not as much, say, Yeosang and his Gemini Sun/Cancer Moon (though I've heard rumor that there is a confirmed birth time putting him at an Aries Rising...will have to research this further). I've noted a surprising amount of Mars energy floating around most of their charts, but I don't have a conclusive list compiled. (Yet.) Now, that masculine energy waxes and wanes once you start looking at the individual members, but I'm just trying to speak on the group as a whole.
Also notable is a complete lack of mutable signs. That Scorpio/Mars Energy? This is the image. This is the product. Not much is gonna change because it works, and there's not a lot of wiggling around on that. Moon in Aries in the 12th house? More Mars feelings in a house where they won't necessarily be expressed (8th house is better at hiding, but 12th house is also very restrictive).
Finally, let's note the Midheaven sitting in the 9th house, the house of foreign cultures (among so so many other things really the 8th house is such a clusterfuck). Really points to them being their work being overseas as opposed to domestic. And with their North Node sitting in the fourth house, the house of home, I think that'll be the thing they work towards the most in their career.
Tumblr media
Self-indulgently gonna close this mini-essay with a Hongjoong gif because I'm suffering from absolute brain rot when it comes to him.
Come yell at me in the askbox- I've finished my soju for the night and wish to discuss. Also, I need y'all to understand that while I'm an excellent drunk editor, the amount of revisions this needed to achieve public consumption was more than the time it took to actually write the damn thing. (It's called Soju and Astrology for a reason)

west coast baby | Jake Kiszka
Tumblr media
jake kiszka x fem!reader
summary: Jake sees how at home you are at the beach in your small coastal hometown.
jakes pov
"Stop looking at me like that." Yn throws her sugar packet wrapper in my face and I flinch. "What I can't admire my girlfriend? That's rude." I laugh and yn rolls her eyes. "You can look at me all you want. But not like that. It makes me blush."
"What way am I looking at you!?!" Yn smiles and take a sip of her iced coffee. "You're looking at me like 'Ugh I just love you so much' and you're not allowed to. It makes me blush." I smile and grab her hand across the table. "Oh but what if that is the whole point?" yn slaps my hand.
Our food comes and we start talking about what we want to do after brunch. "Well I wanna go to this thrift store owned by this really nice old man named Frank to see what he has. Then I wanna go swimming at the beach for a bit. Does that sound good baby?" I nod, rubbing my thumb over her hand I grabbed again. "Yeah that's fine with me. I need some new pirate apparel. Does Frank have some of that?" Yn give me a big smirk. "Oh for sure" We giggle and after we finish eating we pay and go to the convertible we rented for the week. I open yn's door for her with a peck to her cheek then go to the drivers side.
As we drive down the beautiful California coast, my hand is resting on yns thigh and she rests her hand on top of mine. Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon comes on and yn holds her hands up in the wind with her hair blowing, belting the lyrics. Yn loves Nashville but seeing her be her carefree, sunkissed, beach girl she is at heart when we come to visit her home is like nothing else.
Once we get to 'Franks Coastal Finds' I help Yn out of the front seat and walk hands intertwined into the front door. "Awh whattaday it is at Franks! Ms. Yn has come to visit her favorite old man! How are you darling." Yn lets go of me and gives the man I assume is Frank a big hug. Frank is a super tall, beer bellied man with a big beard and a bright red Hawaiian shirt on. "Hi Frankie it is so good to see you. Frank this is Jake, my boyfriend." Frank looks at me and holds a hand out me. I give it a firm shake. "Nice to meet you Jake. You treatin my Yn right?" I nod "Of course. Nothing but the best for my girl."
Frank nods his head. "Attaboy, that's what I like to hear. Well you two take a look around. See if any of my junk speaks to you" We laugh and start looking around. I'm looking through his tables of small trinkets while yn looks though his racks of women's clothing. I found a small trinket pirate ship that is super cool and yn found a few skirts and tops.
"Y'all ready to check out?" "Yes sir." I set all our stuff on the counter and Frank checks is out. As he is typing our purchases in the very old cash register, Frank asks, "What is your plan for the rest of the day youngins?" "well I wanna go to crystal cove for a bit before the sun starts going down so I'll think we will go there." yn says as she picks up our bag of stuff. "Alrighty! you guys have fun ya hear?" Yn smiles waving behind her as she walks out the door. "Bye Frank!"
We get into the car and I say, "Well he was a really nice guy." Yn nods her head. "Yeah Frank is the sweetest. You ready to go swimming for a bit? Get that suit under your clothes wet?" I nod, rolling my eyes at her comment and start driving to the Crystal Cove place yn wanted to go to. "Jake don't be such fun sucker. We'll have fun i promise." I look at her and wiggle my eyebrows in a flirty way. "Oh yeah, you promise?" Yn hits my arm and giggles at my comment.
Once we get to the beach we park and find the perfect spot on the sand and set up our stuff. The sun is about to set so the sky is gorgeous. "Come on baby let's get in." Yn let me sunbathe for about twenty minutes but now she's tugging my arm towards the water. I groan and drop all my body weight so she can't lift me up. "Baby pleaseeeee." "Ugh fine, fine, fine!" I stand up and yn start jumping up and down from excitement and wraps her arms around my neck. "Yay! let's go baby!" Yn holds my hand as i trail behind her into the water.
Once we reach the water i stay up by the coast with just my feet in and yn is floating on her back farther out. The water is cool and calm just how she likes it. Seeing her in this tiny town that is her home that she loves so much reminds me how much she means to me. I never want to miss these trips with her and i never wanna experience any of life without her. "Get in babe! the water is perfect!" I smile and walk over to her. She's still floating and I stand over her and just look down at her.
"Hey who turned off the sun?!" She take her sunglasses off and opens her eyes. "Oh, look who decided to join me." I smile and lean down and peck her lips. "What was that for?" She smiles, "Nothing. I just love you and seeing you so at home." Yn smiles and stands up wrapping her arms around my neck.
"I love you too ya big sap!"
.....
Ugh sorry i haven't been putting out as many updates as I was a few weeks ago but I'm working on it! also i feel like struggle writing long imagines like some like my attention span cannot...anyways i'll try harder to write longer ones!

I finished the game but apparently my remaining notes are going to have to go up in parts bc I Do Not Know How To Shut Up
“thieves, pirates, brigands” repeat-escapee mages, casteless dwarves, angry xenophobic elves….
Let 👏 Manfred 👏 be 👏 a 👏 warden 👏
“nah, they were doin it” history will say they were roommates
“it sounded so tragic, and romantic” “never mind, that does sound like him” somewhere in fereldan, lavellan sneezes
Taash: this story could have had DRAGONS the WHOLE TIME??
(I was about to do my usual “you could never be a dragon” but if anybody could be a dragon it's Taash)
Solas is clearly the Maker, what's not clicking
(this is of course a joke. Sandal is the Maker.)
The way Lucanis just goes “.....no” to some of the wilder things Taash says just tickles me so much
There is no way to convey through text the way he is just clearly bewildered by questions like “can Spite turn into an elf”
THAT'S why Solas adopted Cole. He felt like home.
“a memory of tranquility” oh god that's what they did, isn't it. they made the titans Tranquil. jesus.
“I suspect you have questions” look here you
“you can't fight a dragon bc you're an idiot”
Emmrich is just so…pleasant. Maybe that's a weird descriptor, but I would absolutely hang out with him, in a quietly autistic parallel play way
“but that's more than I should say” man the world is exploding, fuck the warden secrets
It's okay Emmrich I also had children so I wouldn't have to wash dishes
The game begging me on its hands and knees to just follow the damn dwarf, me looking down and whispering “I'm ‘splorin’”
“riddles riddles riddles, oh, I am a rock” what happened to being respectful
Okay I'm about ready to throw Ivenci in the blight water BUT “perhaps [the antaam] could be convinced to do more backflips while murdering” was funny
“imagine how big THEIR casino would be 💀
Harding like “life is already so weird, this might as well happen”
“was there a plan after that?” absolutely not
“you call that nice and quiet??” look here you
Mila has been more immediately helpful than any other authority figure in this entire game. Possibly the whole series.
BIG FUCKIN FACE
“can we hire her?” “you don't have enough gold” I definitely want to hire her
HOF's chalice!!
Kristoff's journals TT
this library is just a series of gut punches
“and now I die” no no, it's “in death, sacrifice”, run it again
I am torn btwn not wanting to redeem the first warden and not wanting Davrin to die
cool l hate it
(the way Gilan'nain moves is VERY nice tho)
Emmrich said y'all need therapy
I just. I just love Mila so goddamn much.
My roommate assured me nothing happens to her which is good bc I would have deleted the game and complained to the BBB
OSTAGAR THE MABARI
I completely forgot Taash had a quest here & was very confused to see them in the tunnel. Just chilling.
I too would fight a dragon about gender feelings
“how do you decide when one of your targets deserves to die?” “usually when the client pays up front” lucanis.
“if you aren't dead, then you're still alive” people die when they are killed
“the joining ingredients are rare” I mean not the darkspawn blood, you've got a bumper crop of that now
you called him a WHAT
ykw I'm with Taash, who doesn't like dragons
Taash gets me
Tumblr media
hatemail game on this website
Tumblr media
Lucanis, we don't threaten our teammates just bc we told them where we hide the bodies. That was a you mistake.
So. The Cauldron. What the fuck?
spite you cannot eat the candles
you will get heartburn
my roommate keeps saying it's not like Eddie and Venom but I think she might be wrong
“treasure…try down” thank you, bloodborne player
someone either had a ton of fun animating that hand or it was the bane of their existence
“The Free Marches aren't worth considering after the disaster in Kirkwall” excuse u, her name is Hawke
Lucanis: all clothes are gender-neutral if you're not a coward
give 👏 taash 👏 a 👏 cape 👏
what in the Orin the Red
no no fuck you, Zara said “amatus”, where's illario I just wanna talk
Also big Orthax vibes with Spite going nuts that illario killed the person he wanted to kill
BUT ALSO ILLARIO I JUST WANNA TALK
“Emmrich-” “looks at me like a thesis topic”
ahh, destroying gaatlok stashes. it's like we never left kirkwall.
“you talk when it's your turn” “never my turn >:[“
“I'm surprisingly bad at knowing when I should quit”
magic ballista MAGIC BALLISTA
I mean where did you get that but also MAGIC BALLISTA
“you've got a team with a lot of complications” which Varric knows nothing about
“do you know what a lich is” [sprays Emmrich with water bottle]
it's okay Bellara I too write fanfiction to avoid thinking about my problems
“don't say it like that >:|”
“the best way to the heart is between the fourth and fifth ribs; don't listen to Viago”
“why are there undead things here?” “thousands have died in the deep roads” “not what I asked”
I don't like that it's called “flooded chamber” when there's no flooding.
I don't appreciate the implication of future flooding.
Well those are fucking veins/nerve endings if I ever saw them
Tumblr media
I hate this tunnel. It's giving brood mother and I don't care for it.
“this is just lyrium that's angry” that's not helping
okay I didn’t cry during “you are Lace Harding” but I did tear up
“we will thrive in spite of you”
the heartbeat drums
(heart. lungs. liver. nerves.)
“acceptance of the truth and her own shadow self” squints in persona 4
are you a good lich or a bad lich” look here you
Rowan's my new favorite character. I want a book about Rowan.
“you misunderstood -” “then say it better!” YEAH
also the little sideways shuffle of shathaan getting out of her chair was a nice piece of animation
wild going from “leandra amell was disowned for marrying a mage” to “my mom screamed at me for not being a mage even though my dad was”
Emmrich: I'm gonna solve a murder! 8D
“dragons do not give one lyrium-infused crap about magical curses”
The sequel to TotK Thoughts From My Notes App, Dragon Age The Veilguard Thoughts From My Notes App
please do not respond or reblog with spoilers, even in the tags, assume whatever the last thing is is how far I've gotten bc it probably is
first off, meet Kalais:
Tumblr media
(I've tweaked her design since this but I don't have access to the ps5 rn for a new screenshot) (really I just filled her face out a lil so she's not so Pointy)
[quest marker flashes] NO, I'm ‘SPLORIN
okay jumping over the wall in D'Meta's Crossing & going from Standard Spooky directly into Turbo Hell was very effective
“this blight is WEIRD” harding you were there for corypheus’ whole deal, you can't say things like that, it's terrifying
they really took the deep roads and set it to “worse”, huh
(my roommate kept going "BROODMOTHER" bc she hates me)
NO WONDER THEY CALL IT THE DRAGON AGE
I watched my roommate do this bit with her Warden; she sent him off to probably die from the Joining. I just. left him there.
Morrigan if you're gonna wear the headpiece get your hair out from behind it you're driving me crazy
Morrigan smiles so much, idk how I feel about it

Do you know where I can listen to the Torchwood audios?
Of course! So there’s the Torchwood BBC audio plays, which you might be able to find through Audible or BBC iPlayer if you’re in the UK. There’s also the Torchwood audiobooks which you can purchase or find through your local library maybe.
The ones I believe you might be refering to are probably the Big Finish Torchwood audios, which you can purchase right here on their website. Their monthly audios are reasonably priced - when I say reasonably, I say that considering all the effort and hiring costs and the pay for the writers and directors and sound mixers and graphic designers that should be considered before even the actors get paid - at $8.99 USD for digital downloads (and more expensive if you buy the physical CD), which I believe is also something like 7.99 euros but I might be wrong there, as I am American.
There are also the occasional special release, including an audio set that includes the full original cast, along with a range for Torchwood One, featuring Yvonne Hartman and Ianto Jones. Plus, there’s also other collections, like one centric on Captain John Hart and a whole range of boxsets devoted to Jack called the Lives of Captain Jack.
THEN, there’s Seasons 5 and 6, all great audios of 12-13 episodes a piece, featuring Jack and Gwen and a whole range of new but wonderful and interesting characters set closer to the modern day. The lack of Ianto, Tosh, and Owen may deter you at first, but I assure you, from my experiences still going through Season 5 and from reviews from my friends who have heard both seasons, that the new seasons are phenomenal. Some argue they may even be the best seasons of Torchwood, but that’s for you to determine.
Of course, if you’re worried about price, I would advise, as I do, to either pre-order the audios when they are at their cheapest or wait for a sale, during which their prices do go down a bit, but keep in mind that the sales are not too frequent. Still, sometimes, you’ll get lucky.
But what you shouldn’t do, and what I beg, beg, beg of you not to do is, PLEASE DO NOT PIRATE BIG FINISH.
They are a small company of creatives, and it’s not cheap to keep hiring John Barrowman or Eve Myles or Gareth David-Lloyd or Naoko Mori or Burn Gorman. These are individual people, not the BBC. These are writers and directors and soundmixers and graphic designers and actors for whom this is their livelihood or part of their livelihood, and they deserved to get paid. If you pirate Big Finish audios instead of buying them, you take money away from Big Finish as well as proof of purchase that we want these audios and we want Big Finish to keep making them. Money sells.
You don’t want Big Finish to lose the Torchwood license and stop being able to make audios, do you? (Rhetorical question, because no one should want that.)
Plus, on that note, it’s also better to buy directly from Big Finish rather than Amazon because of the exact reasons listed above. Also, it just doesn’t feel right or feel ethical.
So basically. Tldr: The Torchwood audios you are most likely refering to are the Big Finish audios, which can be found on their website. There are many varieties and ranges you might enjoy. Above everything, don’t pirate Big Finish or you’ll make a lot of fans angry. Additionally, in conclusion, I hope this post helped you, I’m sorry about the length, and I hope you enjoy the audios if you are able to purchase them!

Tumblr media
"captain! it's whitebeard's ship, they're on the opposite side of the island!" the panicked voice of your adorable apprentice made you open one eye.
you were already half asleep standing, waiting for your crew to finish their business with the navy. rayleigh and roger exchanged some words while you focused to keep yourself awake.
"who's that?! he runs so fast! is he a samurai?" god, you were so close to knocking buggy out cold.
you heard screams of some of your fellow crew members, making you pull out your guns.
"wait, gaban, rayleigh, (name)! i don't want you guys to get hurt!" the earth shook as roger sprinted with a big grin plastered on his face.
"you just wanna fight him," rayleigh lowered his sword and so did gaban to his axe as a sigh escaped your lips.
"how annoying," you sighed again before walking away to atleast get a nap. it was hard considering the loud noises and quaking of the ground beneath you.
rayleigh followed you but only before you and he sensed whitebeard with haki. you turned around, strong gusts and blows of winds. you felt a strong arm wrapped around your waist, pulling you close to his chest.
the two captains banter while your scattered friends lined up alongside you and rayleigh. you felt rayleigh's grip loosen as he slowly slid his arm away, lightly brushing over your exposed waist and back. the contact sent shivers up your spine and aching down your core.
you gathered your composure, checking out your possible opponents. you made eye contact with a blue-haired and clothed woman, whitey bay. god damn, you've seen a lot of women and she doesn't disappoint. she noticed your gaze, returning the same attention with a smirk and wink, making you bite your lower lip with a mirrored smirk.
rayleigh noticed the unspoken banter between you and bay, making note of it for future purposes.
"whatever you got, hand it over!" roger and edward's voice interrupted you and bay's flirting.
"get them!" / "rob them!" two crews clashed against each other. you headed directly against whitey bay who seemed to have the same idea.
you eventually rendered bay defenseless on day 2. the less sleep you got, the more aggressive you become. so much that you disregarded the tension between you and bay and just wanted the bed to yourself.
"how long do you think you can last?" you heard a cocky and familiar voice behind you. rayleigh.
"longer than you, babe." you lunged at some random whitebeard pirate, hitting him with the back of your gun.
"that's a bold statement." he followed with a chuckle sending a blow beside you where a shout sounded.
you glared at him. if he wants to fuck you he should just say it. you and your vice-captain have always had this tension. maybe it was because of your personalities that complemented each other, but god is it so frustrating.
he returned your glare. it was less intense, more playful– like a challenge. his lips curved into an amused yet lazy grin, following with a wink. your legs buckled. you felt a familiar ache down your core. an ache you were sure only rayleigh can suppress.
finally, the tension and fight lasted for 3 days and 3 nights. everyone was basically lying on the dirt or leaning against rocks. you were exhausted, deprived of sleep, it didn't help that you were horny either. you could fall asleep at any moment if you weren't so hot and bothered.
you sneaked a little deeper into the forest, away from any lingering gazes and where your voice wouldn't be heard. you found a good spot to mind your business and plopped your exhausted ass down, the ass that you'd often find rayleigh staring at.
you unbuttoned your shorts, fingers sliding down and brushing against your clothed folds. a shaky sigh escaped your quivering lips, your body relaxing. you continued to tease yourself as your other arm reached under your shirt. your fingers lightly and barely touching your stomach in a circular and back and forth motion, making you moan.
would rayleigh do this? he was always such a tease. it didn't take long for your imagination to take over, picturing rayleigh over you. your fingers slid inside your damp underwear, no longer satisfied with light and teasing touches. you pressed over your clit, the slight pressure making you whimper. fondling with your breast also added to the steam, pinching your nipples every now and then.
god, you were so wet. slowly, you slid your fingers into your wet folds. rayleigh. rayleigh slowly pumps his thick finger inside you, increasing the pace. he would slow down after feeling your insides clamp on his fingers, gripping him tight. he'd tease you, kiss your clit whenever he stops your upcoming highs to compensate. rayleigh. rayleigh.
"rayleigh," you moaned to yourself. rayleigh would probably let you cum by now. you increased your pace, your insides clamping on your digits. you were so close. so so close. tears formed in your eyes as you whimpered rayleigh's name over and over and over again.
"rayleigh," you cried. a tear fell down your face as you felt your built-up high crashing down at any second.
"you called?" you gasped at the voice. you opened your eyes to see him leaning on a tree, eyes watching your show with an amused look on his face.
"rayleigh?!" you would feel shame if you weren't feeling so damn good right now. maybe you did, but the look on his face told you he was enjoying the show, followed by a raise of his eyebrow when you stopped, so you continued.
you called out to him again, in your high. your body overwhelmed, quivering in pleasure. your back arched, legs wide open for rayleigh. all for him. just for him. you peaked where he was, and he was there watching you ride your orgasm. you bit your lip. so hot. he was so fucking hot for watching you with amusement and pride, the bulge in his pants made you feel hot too.
it wasn't long before you slumped, panting. your face was flushed, tears, drool, and sweat rolling down your pretty face. you took another peek at rayleigh to see him pushed side off the tree. you took another breath before looking to your side, fatigue taking over and drifting to sleep.
you were losing consciousness until you felt fingers on your chin, tilting your head. you opened your eyes to see rayleigh examining your face. you groaned, disrupted from slumber.
"you wanna sleep?" he lightly shook your head. you nodded lazily, exhausted.
"quite the performance, (last name)." he tilted his head, his free hand rubbing the top of your head.
"i was gonna pay for such a show." he leaned to your side. you felt his breath hit your ear and your insides rekindle with heat.
"but in a state like that, i don't think you can take my cock," his voice dropped an octave, ending his bold statement with a chuckle, making you whimper. you felt him shift to stand back up, your head falling back to the side as he lets go of your chin.
"i-i can take it." you mustered up your strength to sit up straight.
"get some rest," rayleigh wanted to for so long. too long. but he has responsibilities, he's a vice-captain. so he often flirts just fuck with you and back off. roger told him it's alright but he refuses. pussy. roger told him.
"if you don't make a move, i will." his best friend laughed before patting his back.
rayleigh still refuses. if you weren't a member of the crew, he would've fuck you a long time ago. but alas, you were. he regretted even entertaining you today and indulging himself.
the crunching of leaves filled your ears with your breathing. you will not let this chance pass. rayleigh, your vice-captain, saw you fucking yourself with your hands and moaning his name, what could possibly be worse than that?
"please, rayleigh, fuck me," you croaked. if it was another man, you will never beg for them to take you. but it was rayleigh, and you know he wants you.
"i see the way you look at me, i hear your conversations with roger, i know what you think of me," you continued to reason with him, and boy is it so hard not to pounce on you.
"you're playing with fire, (name)," rayleigh warned you. he was looking to his side, back still facing you. but the fact that he stopped egged you on to continue.
"you're hesitating, just fuck me already," just a little more. one more push for him to turn to you and fuck you mercilessly. "pussy." that's it.
rayleigh smirked at you before turning his back away from you. he was suddenly in front of you, looking down at your desperate expression.
"better not regret this, doll." he growled, swiftly grabbing your arm to pull you up. you felt your breath pulled away from you as you were pushed to a tree.
a moan escaped you when you felt pressure between your thighs, unconsciously gridding on it. you leaned to kiss rayleigh only for him to move his head away, making you whine. the hand on your arm moved to the side of your head, fisting a handful of hair, eliciting a groan from you.
"move." it was a command but it sounded like a threat, yet you complied. you continued to move your hips on his thigh, experimenting with different angles you possibly can in that position to feel better.
you bit your lips to keep your sounds to a minimum. a loud gasp escaped you when rayleigh added pressure, pressing on your clit. you moved your hips faster, maintaining the angle. you were close. rayleigh felt your high approaching when your thighs started sputtering. you cried at the sudden absence of his thigh.
the tug on your hair disappeared when rayleigh spun you around, pushing your face against the trunk and hand pressing on your back, telling you to arch your back for him. you followed his unspoken request with no questions. you waited so long for this moment, you weren't going to ruin it.
your vice-captain moved closer, his breath fanning your ears. hot. it was hot. it made your head spin, your heat also increased. his body pressed on your back, your breath hitching as you felt something hard and big against your ass. you tried to grind on rayleigh's cock, only for him to pull your hair aggressively, making you cry in pain.
"don't move until i tell you so, understood?" he pulled your hair lower, making tears form in your eyes.
"y-yes." you quietly cried out at the pull. it hurts.
"yes, what?" rayleigh tugged harder again while his lips feathered on your ear.
"y-yes, sir!" he removed his hand from your hair to collect your wrists on your back, pinning them.
"good girl," he whispered before pulling your shorts down. he slid his fingers above your clothed folds. your breath quivered at the gentle touch, sending shivers down your spine.
"so wet, baby. is this all for me?" you can hear the smirk on his face, pleased with your juices.
"y-yes, sir. all for you, just y-you." your vice-captain hummed in approvement before you felt him lower himself, using your wrists as leverage. rayleigh slid your shorts down the ground. he let go of your wrist; a hard slap landed on your ass, making you moan in a mixture of pain and pleasure.
"spread your legs," he kneaded your ass, spreading them apart. you winced in embarrassment. you've never felt so exposed before, even after fucking with a handful of people.
a moan was ripped from your lips when rayleigh's tongue licked a stripe of you. you gripped what you can of the tree's bark, feeling splinters on your palms. but it felt so good, so painfully good.
his finger reached for your clit from behind you around your waist, slowly rubbing circles and stopping, keeping a pace and rhythm that made your inside tighten against nothing. you felt your vice-captain place a kiss on your ass cheek before diving straight to your cunt. he devoured you with no shame as if you were his first meal after being starved for weeks.
"fuck, oh god, shit," you lightly banged your head against the trunk; an attempt to keep yourself sane.
the sound of rayleigh slurping and fucking you with his tongue made your face heat up. you weren't sure if it was from embarrassment or because you find it hot. maybe a little bit of both. either way, everything he did made you cry in pleasure, moaning his name and strings of curses and praise.
"f-fuck, r-rayleigh, 'm c-close," you reached behind you, fisting locks of hair, pulling him closer to your cunt. rayleigh groaned, sending vibrations down you, making you cry.
"please, please, please, please," you pleased, sniffing as tears fell from your eyes, the finger on your clit moving faster and adding pressure, warmth forming and waiting to be released.
"cum for me, babe," was the last thing you heard before your eyes rolled to the back of your head, lewd and loud noises babbled by your drool dripping lips.
rayleigh let you ride your high, never stopping as your consciousness reached another dimension. he was as enthusiastic as he was the first minute he started tasting you. his left hand left your ass to support your trembling legs.
"rayleigh," you moaned as you entered consciousness again. your vice-captain took this as a sign you've calmed down a bit.
the fingers against your clit moved slower and more gently as he moved his face away from your folds, but not before placing a gentle yet tender kiss on your dripping cunt, making the remaining consciousness left of you feel warm inside.
rayleigh stood up, catching you with the arm that was around your waist to your clit before you fell onto the dirt. pants escaped your lips in an attempt to catch your breath. you looked above to your side to see rayleigh smiling. it was a sweet smile, if only it wasn't for your juices lattered from his nose around his mouth and chin. he swiped your cum and juice with his thumb, licking everything before it drips to his shirt.
"can't let it go to waste, can we?" rayleigh smirked before sucking the remaining slick off his fingers with a pop.
you felt your face heat up. how can this man get any hotter?
a cry escaped out from your throat when that exact finger entered you with no warning. your insides that were deprived of touch and affection had finally something to grip to. rayleigh didn't move his finger to let you catch your breath, or so you thought.
he added another finger with no warning and began pumping quickly. you could feel the slick drip down from you to his fingers down your thighs. the squelching sound only added to your and rayleigh's heat. another cry sounded from you when rayleigh pulled your hair backward, arching your back. it wasn't long before you felt your upcoming orgasm.
rayleigh fisted your hair tighter, leaning down to your ear. you can hear him growl as his lips kissed your earlobe, teasing with his breath. strings of moans and lewd noises escaped you the more he pumps into you.
"you gonna cum again?" his voice dropped an octave, making you whine in desperation.
"do you think you deserve to?" his fingers slowed down in a tormenting slow pace.
"yes! please, please, please," you whimpered, tears streaming down your face at the lost of friction. you moved your trembling hips in hopes of adding speed against his slow pacing.
a screamed ripped our from you when your actions were met by a harsh slap on your ass. you were full on crying at this point, but you loved this treatment from rayleigh so much. you'd sell your kidney to be fucked by him every night.
"didn't i tell you not to move until i say so?" he growled, his finger fully stopping for your insides to grip.
"i'm sorry! please, please, i'm sorry, sir, i'm sorry, please," you sobbed and pleaded, strings of apologies along with your drool escaping your lips.
"are you even hearing yourself, (last name)? begging? how desperate can you get?" you groaned at rayleigh' fist tigtening around your locks.
"you're like a bitch in heat, thinking about getting railed by your vice-captain every hour of the day." you felt utterly humiliated, but it was true.
"well, congratulations, mission accomplished." he didn't even give you time to process anything.
the second he removed his fingers, it was immediately replaced by his cock. you screamed, his name probably. he was big, and hasn't even bottomed out yet. you've never felt so full before, so good.
"hands on your back." a slapped land on your ass again when you didn't respond to his order. you were pulled from whatever dimension your consciousness reached.
"'m s-sorry," you placed both of your wrist on your back while the hand that stretched you out held it in place.
once rayleigh did, he immediately pounded once into you, ripping another scream from you already sore throat.
"scream my name, baby, let everyone know who's making you feel good, who can fuck you into oblivion, who makes you beg like a whore," rayleigh grunted but you can hear him smirk in his voice.
those were the last words you can process before rayleigh began to pound continuously into you, ripping moans, screams, and sobs out of you. his pace was unmatched, your back was in an unbelievable arch, the pain on your scalp only adding to the pressure. you were under his command, no choice but to submit.
"how many men and women have you fucked? i bet you imagine me in their place. ever moaned my name while getting railed?" a handful. you were experienced yet rayleigh made you feel like it was your first time.
rayleigh gave one powerful pound, making you scream again, roger and the others would've probably known what was going on by now, but fuck it. it wasn't every day you get fucked by silvers rayleigh.
you were swiftly brought into the ground, feeling dirt and pebbles scrape your knees. rayleigh wanted to get better leverage for extra strength and you doubt you can take any more.
he added pressure on your back, before going back to his deadly and powerful pacing. he was stirring up your insides like it was nothing but a fleshlight.
your face was pressed against the ground, drool creating a small stain on the dirt along with your tears. rayleigh removed his hand from your back to hold your hips, pulling you into him as he thrust violently. you couldn't count the amounts of screams rayleigh played from you but you'd do it again.
he continued this position and pacing and decided to stick with it. you were slipping away to your subconsciousness. his cock was too much for me, especially with his strength. it wasn't long before you slip into subconsciousness, and rayleigh felt it too. so he decided to spit on your asshole, plunging his thumb inside you, making your eyes roll at the back of your head.
"'m gonna c-cum!" you sputtered out as your body began to tremble. rayleigh didn't care, if anything, he quickened his pace, making your orgasm come fast and crash down on you.
you moaned, loads of drool spilling on the dirt under you, new set of tears following them. yet rayleigh didn't falter, except for his grunts and groans at your insides clamming against his cock. you were baffled by his stamina, he was relentlessly still plunging into you, letting you ride out your high.
you saw stars, fuck, you saw the fucking milky way. no one has ever ate you so good before. blissful tears streamed down your face, mixing with your sweat. you felt like you've reached heaven on earth.
you were overstimulated, everything felt too much, and you slipped out of your consciousness, fucked stupid and too dumb to respond or do anything but make noises. but rayleigh wasn't planning to stop any time soon.
"you there?" he scoffed, feeling the last of your consciousness slip away. at this point, you were nothing but a hole for him, fucked out of your mind.
rayleigh pulled out of you, a whimper escaping your lips. he lifted you up and flipped you, removing your top and bra. you were out of it. awake, but in your subconscious.
rayleigh laid on his back while you laid slump on his chest, straddling his hips. he wiped you sweat, dirt, and hair sticking on your face, giving your forehead a kiss before lining up his dick on your hole.
slowly, he entered you, eliciting a mindless moan from you. he held you up from your torso, using your waist as a grip to bounce you on his cock. his other hand pulling your hair from behind, leaving your upper body on display for him.
he thrust his hip, pounding into you while he also plunges your hips down on him. you were babbling nonsense, begging and mumbling his name like it was your salvation. you were too far gone to process everything. all you can think about is how rayleigh's dick is stretching you, ruining your insides.
the sight of your breasts bouncing and sweat dripping down from your neck to down the valley of your breasts urged him to fuck you harder than he's ever fucked anyone. you were so beautiful in his eyes, whether you were getting fucked silly or playing with the ship's two apprentices.
the sound of skin slapping filled the forest along with your moans and rayleigh's occasional grunts.
"take the lead, babe," rayleigh let go of your hip and hair, but not before tugging harshly to at least wake-up half of your senses.
it worked seemingly as you groaned and smiled stupidly, eyes blown wide and a giggle of acknowledgment, still too stupid to feel shame. your hands landed on his stomach as leverage, his tip being the only part of him inside you before you went down on him, bouncing as if your life depended on his cock.
rayleigh groaned when you started grinding too, overwhelmed by the way you stimulate him. how many dicks have you ridden to be this skilled? either way, he couldn't care less, not when he's obviously benefitting from your experiences.
you gave him one huge drop, ripping a deep moan from rayleigh. he was close. his hands roamed you from your hips to your waists, to your breasts. he fondled with them as you ride him, pinching your nipples which you replied with moans and giggles happily.
you leaned down to give him more access, hovering over his chest, now using your ass to bounce on his fat cock. rayleigh looked up to your face, drool dribbling from your mouth and chin, tongue sticking out to give him a cheeky smile.
"mmm," you hummed. "feels good, daddy," you smiled wider in pleasure.
this awakened something in rayleigh.
rayleigh wrapped his arms around you, bringing you down to his chest and thrusting up, making you scream in pleasure at the sudden movement. he pounded aggressively, slick gathering around your hole due to the fast movement, producing wet and squelching sounds.
your face was against rayleigh's chest, saliva dripping as your voice trembled along your body and eyes rolled back, babbling praises and words of approval which encourage rayleigh.
your nth orgasm washed over you, tears streaming down your face again as you babbled. rayleigh followed with a loud groan as your insides clamped on his dick, milking him dry. his pace gradually slowed down to let the two of you ride your orgasms before coming to a halt.
you felt so full. full of his dick, cum, and love, and you've never been happier.
your pants filled the surrounding forest as the two of you caught your breaths. rayleigh looked down on you, all worn out and exhausted. he gently tamed your hair away from your face and wiped the tears from your cheeks and eyes, gently kissing your forehead and the corner of your eye.
you whimpered at the empty feeling as you felt him slowly remove himself from you. strong arm around your torso lift you up as rayleigh sat up, your head fell limp on his chest, relaxing your body from the ethereal experienced you just went through. you slowly drifted into slumber only to be interrupted by a hand on your cheek, forcing you to look up.
you met rayleigh's eyes looking down on you, giving you a pleased smile before leaning down to kiss you. you hummed into the kiss, the vibration making your lips tingle. your arms wrapping around his neck as the hand that held you caressed your exposed waist, his other hand snaking up your neck while his thumb rubbed your under your ear gently.
the kiss was tender and passionate. your hand moved up rayleigh's hair, tugging and pulling occasionally. he would groan, pulling you deeper into the kiss. it wasn't long before things got filthy and too wet. his tongue won against yours, exploring your mouth in a way that made your body weaker than it already is; the arm around your waist tightening, preventing you from collapsing.
the two of you pulled away before one of you (you) passed out from lack of oxygen. you held onto him for support, burying your head on the crook of his neck.
your vice-captain leaned over to rest you against the tree, collecting your clothes then wiping you clean with the cloth that's always wrapped around his waist. you moaned as you felt his fingers enter you to remove his excess load from you, lifting his covered fingers up to your lips. you instinctively opened your lips and curled your tongue around rayleigh's finger, moaning at your and rayleigh's combined juices.
"good girl," he gave you a hum of approval and caressed your cheek, making you feel warm on the inside.
he wiped you one last time and sat beside you before placing his hand on your cheek, beckoning your head to lean against his shoulder. slowly, you began to doze off. but not before you felt a kiss on your hairline.
"thank you," you nuzzled closer into his shoulder before drifting to slumber, failing to see rayleigh's loving gaze. you weren't the only one who felt warm inside.
rayleigh shook his head. not now.
the two of you reunited with the crew after a few hours with rayleigh waking you up. it wasn't long before the two well-rested pirate crews exchanged gifts and valuables, or feasting together.
you sat beside rayleigh, eating to your heart's content while he drank to his. he was chatting with marco until the boy was called by jozu and vista. you heard footsteps nearing as you looked up to whitey bay with an amused look.
"hey, want some?" you nudged towards your feast which she followed with a smile.
"is it alright? rayleigh wouldn't mind?" she also nudged to the subject in which you shook your head.
whitey bay sat beside you, taking a bite out of her share. after a couple seconds of eating in silence except for a couple of praises for the food, whitey spoke up.
"i gotta say, quite the performance earlier," she smirked before munching.
"sorry about that, i just get more aggressive the sleepier i get, you know what they call me." you rolled your eyes at your silly alias. "drowsy (name)". even shanks and buggy could come up with something better.
"oh, i wasn't talking about that. i was talking about your performance with rayleigh." you choked. she wasn't talking about that, wasn't she...?
this caught rayleigh's attention, the corner of his mouth rising. he took a swig of his booze before speaking up.
"mhm, she's a born performer isn't she, bay?" a hand slung over your stiff shoulders.
"agreed. she deserves an encore with all that high-pitched singing and waterworks." your face felt hot, and not out of your high libido. you've never been so embarrassed your whole life.
"i think she got her well-deserved award, yeah?" rayleigh leaned down to you, nudging toward whitey bay for your approval.
you nodded in hopes of shutting them up and dropping the subject.
"i'd love to see a show again, or better, perhaps i can participate?" you felt a hand slide up your thigh while the hand hanging on your shoulder slid to your neck.
"i think we do have an encore scheduled right about now, care to join?" rayleigh looked over your head to whitey bay.
the bluenette leaned closer to you, breath fanning over your ear, hand sliding higher and deeper up your thigh.
"can i?"

The idea was to make a much more elaborated and polished piece, but I messed up my layers BIG TIME and now I don't feel like finishing this
Anyway @galacticfriends suggested me "Koku but in a bisexual way" when I asked for thirsty art ideas and my mind IMMEDIATELY went for a pirate like aesthetic. It's not very well executed, but I will give it another try in the future!
Y'all can find a slight more naked grandpa under the cut 😥👌

Of Rocks and Robots Ch. 43 - Finale (Pt. 5)

"Okay, what if we used some nitrocellulose and mixed it with an oxidized ethanol?" Varain asked.
Honey Lemon pursed her lips. "Uhmmm, wouldn't that just make the chimball explode?"
"Uh, yeah. That's the point."
"I don't know….It sounds kind of dangerous."
Varian and Honey Lemon hovered over the chemistry set inside Big Hero Six's new lab.
As soon as Chief Cruz and Megan had left the Lucky Cat this morning, Hiro had called everyone together to meet at their headquarters. He had to pick up a new set of armor, and he wanted to tweak everyone else's suits to help prevent Supersonic Sue from disarming them again.
While Hiro worked on that, Varian was taking this time to build himself a new arsenal of alchemical orbs with Honey Lemon's help.
"Relax," he said as he reached over to pick up a test tube full of some green liquid  "I won't throw it at anybody. It's just in case those robot ninjas show up again."
"Yeah, but you don't want any fire to accidentally spread." Honey Lemon argued. "What if we made something more contained? Like, oh, like what if we compressed some air inside the chimball?" She held one of the empty shells up. "That way when you threw it and it exploded, it would only hit the target with a concussive blast. There's no chance of that catching on fire."
Varian tilted his head in thought and took the shell from her.
"Yeah, that could work; on one of them. What if there's more than one? What if they gang up on you?" He asked as he poured the green liquid into the shell, sealed it, and clipped it to his belt.
"Well then we can just use the ice bombs to freeze them all at once." She replied.
"Yeah, I guess so." Varian agreed, and pulled out the liquid nitrogen to make the ice bombs with.
As they were finishing up this task, and Varian was hooking the last of the chemical orbs to his Saporian belt, Honey Lemon said, "You know this was fun. You should help out more often. Oh, we could go on patrol together or, maybe come up with new-"
"Oh no, no, nope, I'm not a hero." Varian interrupted as he shook his head.
Honey Lemon pouted at this.
"I'm just here cause I'm worried about Hiro." Varian explained.
Honey Lemon eyes went wide as she realized what Varian was getting at. She had been there when Hiro first found out about Callaghan's role in Tadashi's death; and she had been the one to stop Baymax from attacking and killing the professor.
"I don't know what good I'm doing though." Varian went on.
"You're doing a lot of good." She assured him.
"Am I? Cause, like, I'm not one to talk about 'being the bigger the person' or how 'you need to take the high road.' Honestly I don't even agree with this whole superhero thing. I mean, yes what y'all are doing is great, and yes, I'm all for helping Abigail, but… Callaghan…"
Honey Lemon mulled over his words. "But if we don't help, who will?"
Varian threw up his hands in defeat. "Yeah, that's what Hiro said…. but you didn't see him. You didn't see how much just having that one little computer chip destroyed hurt him…. I just don't know how this is all going to play out if we keep doing this."
"Are you worried Hiro might do something he'll regret?"
"No, I'm worried about what I might do." He turned to look her dead in the eye. "I can live with regrets, but I can't live with myself if something happened to him, or you, or anyone else."
Honey Lemon shivered at those words. "So you, what? Just want us to all stop?"
"No. I don't know. I just want everyone to be safe, and happy… And that's not happening so long as we have to keep dealing with Callaghan and whoever this Bosu is."
Honey Lemon lowered her head. Usually superheroing was fun. Even the more challenging villains were just attention seekers out to beat them, as if it was all just some friendly competition. Very few of the foes they faced were actively malicious. But there were times, like now, when it became very hard to ignore how dangerous their chosen hobby could be.
Her thoughts were interrupted by Varian laying a hand on her shoulder.
"Hey, don't listen to me." He soothed. "I'm not a superhero, remember. What do I know?"
Honey Lemon gave him a small smile. "Well, maybe not, but you are a good friend, and I get it, about your concern for Hiro. It's only natural to be protective of your siblings."
"Siblings?"
Honey Lemon had to only laugh at the confused face he made. "Oh come on, you and Hiro totally act like brothers."
"No we don't….do we? I don't know how brothers act. Is it any different from just being friends?"
Honey Lemon snorted with laughter again. "Yeah, a little different. For one you usually don't wrestle for control of the tv remote with your friends, fight over who does what chores, or prank each other with megaphones."
"I thought that was just Hiro being Hiro."
"No, it's 'cause you live together, and have the same guardian. I don't know how to explain it, but it's just different with little brothers, that's all."
"But I… I don't know how to be a brother. Let alone how to be the 'older, more responsible brother'. And I doubt Hiro sees me that way, anyways. I mean, he already has Tadashi… had… I mean…."
He trailed off and Honey Lemon eyed him with worry once more.
After a few moments he whispered, "I'm not trying to replace anybody."
"Well, of course not. No one said that you were."
"Then why do I feel like I am?"
Honey Lemon blinked. What did he mean? Where had this even come from?
Before she could press further though, Hiro walked into the lab.
"Hey, we're heading out soon. You might want to start suiting up." He said.
"Okay. Just give us a minute to gather things up and we'll meet you in the briefing room." She answered.
Hiro nodded his acknowledgement and left.
"Well, looks like we'll have to save the heart to heart for later." Varian snarked as he scooped up Sirque's portal magnets and grabbed the controller he had built for them. After placing these in his pockets, he turned around and asked, "What do you think? Do I look 'heroic' enough?"
He was dressed in his full Saporian garb, complete with bandana and his usual goggles, and along with the new chimballs they'd just made, he appeared exactly the same as he did the first night he'd arrived in San Fansokyo. Well almost, he was slightly taller now, but only by a few inches.
"Hmmm… honestly Sparkles was right, you do kind of look like a bandit, or maybe even a pirate?"
Varian huffed. "See, I can't even look the part."
"Well I still think you'd make a great superhero." She encouraged as she straightened the collar of his jacket.
"Ha ha," he snorted, then more seriously said "We'll be lucky if we can even find the bad guys again. Let alone take them head on."
Honey Lemon refused to let Varian's pessimism get her down.
"Well then here's a hug for good luck." She cheered and flung her arms around him.
Varian tentatively returned the hug. "Th-thanks… I feel more lucky already."
                                                 --------------------------
"So how's things going, Teach?" Sue barked as she skated into the makeshift lab.
Callaghan rolled his eyes in annoyance as he tightened the bolt on the portal.
He had been up all night assembling the frame. Somehow the pair of villains had all of the needed parts all ready to go, along with some pre-programmed software and a few prototypes to work off of.
Whoever this boss they were all working for was, they were clearly well connected and apparently had other people continuing his research in his absence. A Dr. Celine Simard had provided most of the equipment and had emailed him blueprints to her own miniature portal designs. They had only conversed briefly through a heavily monitored chat room, but it was a relief to speak to someone who wasn't as thick as a bag of bricks. Celine seemed like such a bright young woman. It was a shame she was selling out her talents to such an obviously unscrupulous organization.
Though he couldn't fully blame her reasoning… "Krei Tech, Government, the Black Market; it's all the same. They're all corrupt. Might as well go with the one who pays the highest."
"Even if they might kill you afterwards?"
"I don't look a gift horse in the mouth. If you play along nicely they won't hurt you. I would just take the money and passport if I was you."
Callaghan had stopped trying to reach out to her after that. One day this life of crime she was living was going to catch up to her, but he couldn't waste time trying to save her from herself. He had his own daughter to worry about.
"How's Abigail?" He asked as he stood up and put the wrench back inside the tool box.
Sue shrugged. "She's fine. Same as the last fifty times you've asked."
Callaghan walked over to the computer terminal, typed in some code, and read the read out that flashed up on screen.
"You never did tell me where you got my notebook." He said.
"Don't ask me. Those two boys who tried to bust you out yesterday had it. Where they got it, I don't know."
Callaghan frowned and opened his notebook again. He had discovered handwriting that wasn't his own inside, fixing his calculations and expanding upon some of his more 'out there' theories. He had assumed they were done by others in the villains' gang but apparently that wasn't the case.
He still didn't know how Hiro's little friend had come upon his research, but the kid apparently knew a thing or three about theoretical physics. The boy's new equations could potentially stabilize the portal, preventing it from breaking down.
He wouldn't need them though. Callgahn sat the notebook back down and returned to the computer terminal. He didn't want this particular portal to work.
"I'm about ready to perform the first test;" He said coolly, "turn on the power generators."
                                                --------------------------
"Any luck?" Wasabi asked as he joined the rest of the group on top of a skyscraper.
"No." Sighed Honey Lemon.
"We must have scanned the whole city by now." Hiro said.
"What if this Bosu has the same bio-dampening tech that Momasake had?" Fred suggested. "He could have snagged it off her when she got captured, and handed it off to Sue and her grandson."
"That's possible." Gogo admitted. "Especially since they now know that we can track them."
"So what do we do now?" Honey Lemon asked.
Varian cupped his chin in thought as he walked towards the ledge of the building where Baymax stood, still scanning the city. "Baymax, are you able to scan for other things besides just bio-readings?"
"Yes. I am capable of scanning thermal, infrared, radiation-"
"Energy spikes? Like electrical surges." Varian interrupted.
Hiro walked over to join them. "What's your idea?"
"Why would this Bosu kidnap Abigail? She's not actually a scientist."
"Because she's Callaghan's daughter," Wasabi said as he pieced together what Varian was getting at, "and they'll use her to blackmail him into building them a portal."
"Exactly, and they've got to find a way to power it up. There might be unusual energy spikes once they get it up and running."
"So we, what, just wait around?" Gogo asked skeptically. "If Callaghan builds another portal and it's just as unstable as the last ones we've dealt with, then we might be too late to stop it from imploding if we wait till it's turned on."
"Yeah and who knows how much damage that'll cause." Fred agreed.
"Still it's the best idea we have right now; only we don't want to go chasing after every electrical surge in the city. We need a way to narrow the search even further." Hiro mulled over this new dilemma, then a new idea hit him. "Baymax, scan Varian."
"Wha- why?" The other boy asked in confusion as Baymax looked him up in and down.
"Scan complete." The robot said.
"I'll show you." Hiro grunted as he removed the chest plate off of Baymax's armor. "Baymax, show us Varian's readings."
The screen on the robot's chest lit up and displayed a silhouette of the time displaced teen.
"Okay, now show us his radiation levels."
The screen changed again to showcase a graph and Hiro pointed to one of the spikes that was higher than the others.
"There. See that? That's some sort of low energy electromagnetic radiation. Don't worry, it's non-ionized so it's harmless, but it's not anything that's been seen on earth. Not this earth anyways. I suspect it's from traveling through the portal unprotected, the same way astronauts risk GCR when they break through earth's atmosphere."
"Ooookaay… and outside of me apparently being a freak now, what does that have to do with anything?"
"Don't you see? If they turn on the portal it's going to emit that same form of radiation."
"Then we could track it faster and easier than we would just looking for any random energy spike." Gogo interjected.
"Yeah, but that still requires us just waiting around hoping that the bad guys do get the portal working." Wasabi said.
"Oh, they'll get it to work." Hiro said. "This isn't the first time Callagan's built a portal. The question is how long will it remain stable?"
                                                --------------------------
Callaghan flipped a switch on the dashboard and the portal roared to life.
Sue shielded her eyes with her arm as she squinted at the glowing blue circle that hung in the air. The wind was picking up as it was being sucked into the void.
Something was wrong.
Suddenly the power shorted out and the portal shut down as sparks flew out from the sides.
"Blast it!" Callaghan yelled. "I need more power. These generators aren't enough. We'll have to connect to the grid."
"Now hold on there, sugar cakes." Sue interjected. "I thought you didn't want this thingamajig to work."
"I don't, but you've left me with no choice. Call that boss of yours. Get them on the line. I can't finish my work without a direct connection to the city power supply."
"Alright. You need more power? I'll get ya more power. Just hold on to your britches and sit tight. My… uh, associates here will keep an eye on you while I go out and fix this."
She pointed to the two ninjas who were stationed on the catwalk above them. Callgahn didn't know how many were in Sue's employ, but he had the sneaking suspicion that the abandoned factory was crawling with them.
"Okay." Challghan nodded and Sue skated away at top speed.
                                                --------------------------
"There is a radiation spike coming from there." Baymax said as he pointed northward.
"How far out?" Asked Hiro.
"Along the river, about 20 mil--- the signal is gone."
"What do you mean gone?" Varian asked.
"There's no longer any readings."
"It must have been a failed test." Hiro said. "Let's just start following the river north. We may find something as we go."
                                                --------------------------
Abigail paced back and forth inside her cell. Well it was actually an office with a larger window looking out onto the factory below but it might as well have been a jail cell. The ninjas threw her in here and locked the door behind them. She had tried to bust the door down, smash the handle, and crawl into the vents to escape. Nothing had worked so far.
As she nursed her arm from her latest failed escape, she saw one of her captors coming her way. It was the big bulky dude on roller skates. She banged on the window to gain his attention.
"Let me out!" She shouted.
The guy stopped, turned to look at her, pulled out two earbud headphones, and yelled, "I'm sorry, what did you say?!"
As the man leaned closer to the window and cupped his ear Abigail groaned in frustration. "I said 'let me out'!"
"Oh, sorry, no can do! Nana said you needed to stay put until your dad finished working on the portal!"
Abigail pouted and hugged her arm once more. Well, what did she think would happen?
"Do you need anything else?!" The guy shouted at her.
"No!" She stamped her foot before turning away from him to sulk as she tried to rub out the soreness in her arm.
"Hey, are you hurt?!" The guy asked, suddenly full of concern.
Abigail didn't answer. Why did he care?
However, to her surprise the guy opened the door and poked his head into the office.
"Did those robots hurt your arm?" He asked once more.
She looked back at him blankly. "Robots? Is that why those ninjas are so strong? They're robots?"
"Yeah." The large guy confirmed as if barely acknowledging how crazy that sounded. "Do you need an ice pack?"
"Sure." Abigail replied dumbfoundedly. Seriously, why was this guy being so nice?
"I'll go get you one. I'm Stu by the way." He flashed her a huge grin.
"Abigail." She replied still dumbstruck.
"Nice to meet you. I'll be right back." And with that he shut the door again and walked away.
Abigail got up and ran to the door. It was locked once more. Either the guy was smarter than he looked or it locked automatically.
Abigail bit her lip in thought. This Stu person could be her means of escape if she played her cards right.
"I'm back." Stu cheerfully said a few minutes later. "I got you an ice pack and some Tylenol."
He opened the door and handed Abigail the small little package containing the pills.
"Where'd you get this?" She asked.
"Oh, in the vending machine down the hall." He explained as he wrapped her arm in an ace bandage so as to better hold the ice pack in place. "I didn't have any money so I had to headbutt it a couple times. I got a free bag of Cheetos out of it as well."
He finished applying the bandage. "There! Man those robots are so dumb. Not to mention careless. Sorry you got hurt like that."
Abigail plastered a smile on her face. "It-it's okay…. Uhmm…I don't suppose you happen to have anything to drink these down with do you?" She said as she held up the pack of Tylenol.
"Oh sure. I'll go get you a bottle of water. Hang tight."
He left again and Abigail got to work. She removed the bandage and placed the ice pack on the floor in front of the door. Then she took the bandage and tied it between two desk chairs that were seated in the office. She placed these further out in front of the ice pack; spacing them far enough apart the rope laid taunt next to the ground right at ankle height.
Then she heard Stu's return and she jumped into the seat; placing her hands in her lap and slapping on a huge smile to look as innocent as possible as he skated in.
"Here ya, gooooo-woah!" He slipped on the ice pack and stumbled forward.
Abigail jumped up, grabbed the water bottle in his hand to sling him around, and with a well placed kick, Stu went rolling backwards into the tripwire. As he toppled over, Abigail sprinted out the door, locking it behind her.
"Hey! That's not very nice!" He yelled as he righted himself and ran up to the window.
Abigail paused in her getaway. "Yeah, and neither's kidnapping people and holding them hostage!"
Stu looked stunned for a moment as he thought over her words. "Yeah, okay, fair." He finally admitted as he hung his head. Then just as quickly he perked back up and smooshed his face to the glass. "Oh, but Nana's not going to like that you escaped."
"Yeah, well, Nana's just going to have to deal. Where's my dad?"
"Uh, on the first floor I think. Take the stairs down the end of the hall and then turn left."
"Thanks."
"You're welcome. Oh, but watch out for the robot ninjas!" He shouted after her as she ran away, opening the pack of pain pills as she went.
As Abigail neared the stairs she heard banging and the sound of glass cracking. She looked back and saw Stu slamming himself against the window repeatedly; and he was making a lot more headway then she had. She needed to find her dad fast.
                                                --------------------------
Supersonic Sue was hooking up the last of the electric cables to the power lines when she spotted Big Hero Six flying towards the power plant.
"Looks like those do-gooders found our hideout. Better give them a welcoming party." She said to herself with a smile as she pulled out a remote control and pressed a button.
                                                --------------------------
"Looks like there's a building up ahead!" Hiro shouted at his companions, who followed close behind, but stopped short when Baymax came to an abrupt halt.
From out of the woods stepped a robot ninja, who stood in their path.
"Yeeeeessssss!" Laughed Fred. "Finally I get to fight a robot ninja! My life is complete!"
"Be careful! Those things are deadly!" Varian warned.
"Oh come on. There's only one of it and seven of us. We can take...him?"
Just as Fred finished his boast another stealth robot appeared, and then another, and yet another, until the superhero team was surrounded by thirty or more of the killer androids.
"You were saying?" Wasabi snapped at Fred.
As if taking that as a cue, the robots jumped them and all hell broke loose.
Wasabi slammed the gas on his car and plowed through five of the droids, before hitting the brakes and jumping out as the robots dog piled the vehicle. He righted himself and whipped out his laser blades to start hacking away at the enforcers and the deadly shurikens they threw at him.
As he fended off the horde, Gogo skated around dodging their attacks and knocked the snipper robots out of the trees with her discs.
"Woo-hoo!" Fred shouted with glee as he bounced on top of robot after robot, just barely escaping their grasp as they lunged for him. "This is awesome! Terrifying, but awesome!"
Varian rolled his eyes at his friend's enthusiasm as he threw an ice bomb down below at the coming onslaught. He then had to grab hold of Hiro's waist as Baymax decided to do another barrel roll, knocking two more ninjas out of the trees.
When they righted again Varian's heart jumped to his throat when caught sight of Honey Lemon. She was several yards away, cut off from the rest of their friends and pinned down by one of the robotic assassins.
He shouted at her to hold on and Hiro drove Baymax towards her; only for the three of them to get jumped on by another robot. As they fought this new foe, Varian feared they wouldn't reach their friend in time.
Fortunately Honey Lemon was able to wiggle one arm free and grabbed a chimball from off her purse strap. She shoved it into her attacker's abdomen, lodging it in between some exposed gears, and with all her might she kicked the robot off her.
The android stood back up and started to stalk towards her once more, but suddenly stopped when the chimball ruptured and began to encase him in a pink crystal like substance.
Honey Lemon didn't have time to rejoice though as another ninja came up from behind to grab her arm. She threw another chimball at it and this time the robot let go and dubbed over as a shockwave from a small explosion sent the thing crumpling in on itself. Her concussive grenade had worked.
"Are you okay?" Varian shouted as they finally reached her.
"Yeah." She nodded as Hiro repelled another robot away with his electromagnets.
"I have found Supersonic Sue." Baymax calmly stated as he shot his rocket fist into the oncoming horde.
"Where?" Hiro asked, but soon saw the fading streak of dust traveling at high speed towards the abandoned building up ahead.
"We have to go after her. That building must be where they're keeping Callaghan and Abigail."
"Don't worry. I got this." Honey shouted as she ran ahead and shot down another wave of robots with her chempurse's bazooka setting.
"You three go on, we'll hold off the ninjas." Gogo spoke into the intercom before slicing off one of the androids heads with her frisby.
With that Hiro directed Baymax to follow Sue, only for them to be surrounded by a new group of ninjas lying in wait for them, just a mile down the road, even larger than the last horde.
"Where is she getting all these robots from!?" Hiro shouted in frustration.
"I have an idea!" Varian said and he pulled out the portal magnets.
Hiro saw what he was getting at. "Guys," he warned over the intercom, "Varian and I are going to use the mini-portal to break in, but be on your toes cause a new wave of robot ninjas are going to head your way soon."
"Oh you gotta be kidding me." Wasabi complained over the other end.
Varian ignored their friend's protests and typed a command into the portal's remote control. He then tossed the magnets into the air. With a flip of a switch, the magnetic balls began to link up and spin as a portal started to form in the air.
Hiro commanded Baymax to fly to it, and helped to maneuver the android to avoid the ninjas' attacks, as the robotic assassins tried to stop them from leaving.
They dodge one that tried to jump them, and Hiro kicked another off that had grabbed hold of Baymax's armor and was climbing up towards them. Meanwhile Varian threw one last alchemical orb at the swarm of robots as they flew into the portal. Hiro heard an explosion behind them, but ignored it as he focused on the upcoming confrontation ahead of them.
                                                --------------------------
"Okay Callaghan, I siphoned off electricity from the city's power grid. You should be good to go." Sue said as she entered the lab.
"Good, now just stand there and hold that lever down while I turn the machine on." Came Callaghan's terse reply.
"Why? What does the lever do?" Sue asked in suspicion.
"It keeps the fan on the turbines going and prevents the portal from overheating." Callaghan lied.
Sue raised an eyebrow at him, not fully buying it. "You want me to stand next to a giant, untested, potential death machine that may explode at any moment?"
"I assure you it works, and I thought you could order one of your 'associates' to do it, but looks like most of them have left the building save for the one you kept on lookout there."
Sue gave him a death glare.
"Or hey, don't do it and don't get the portal working. See if I care. I didn't ask to get dragged into this."
Sue finally relented at this and walked over to the base of the portal and pulled the lever down. "Like this?" she asked.
"Yeah, just like that." Callaghan said as he walked over to the computer terminal to turn it on. Then under his breath, where Sue couldn't hear, he said. "Just like that you rancid cow; stay right there and be the folly of your own demise."
But before Professor Callaghan could turn on the device and suck his hated captor into the void, another portal opened up overhead and in flew Hiro, Baymax, and Varian; knocking out the one remaining guard as they did so, who fell to the ground in a crumpled heap of frayed wires and busted gears.
"Step away from the portal, Callaghan." Hiro ordered at him.
For his part, Callaghan did as he was told and backed away, hands raised.
"Why you little scamps." Sue said. She almost sounded impressed. "You got persistence and gumption, I'll give ya that, but ain't half as clever as you think you are."
With a nod of her head another ninja jumped from the shadows above them and grabbed Varian by his jacket collar.
"Seriously, where are you getting all these robots!?" Hiro asked.
"Oh, just from an old buddy of mine." She nonchalantly said as she made her way to the door.
"Kensei?" Hiro spat as he finally threw the robot off them.
"Ah so you heard," Sue said, "and they say kids these days don't know their history. Yeah, I thought the ninja aesthetic was a little hokey myself; Kensei's gimmick was always centered around lame karate stuff, but hey, who am I to judge?"
And with that, as quick as a wink, she tossed one of the now defunct robot's weapons at them. Only instead of the usual shuriken, it was a metal ball that opened up and released a weighted net that was difficult to dodge.
As both boys struggled to pull it off, Baymax fell to the ground below under its weight and Supersonic Sue tried to make her getaway.
Only to stop when Stu burst through the door.
"Nana! I am soo, so sorry, but Abigail's escape!"
"What!?" She shouted.
With this news, Callaghan raced to the computer terminal while everyone was distracted and turned on the device.
                                                --------------------------
The ground rumbled and soon a heavy wind picked up as the unstable portal began to suck things into it.
Abigail wandered around the abandoned building utterly lost. She had deviated from Stu's directions in order to avoid running into those ninjas again. She hadn't seen any more of them around for awhile, but now she couldn't find her way back.
Suddenly the ground shook as if there was an earthquake. Abigail ran under a door frame for shelter and held on tightly.
As the tremor subsided, Abigail began to wonder if it was a natural occurrence at all.
Portals, that was what this was all about, apparently. The bad guys had wanted her father to build them one, but if he did, it could blow up in all of their faces, literally.
Then she heard yelling down the hall, as a wind picked up.
"Dad!" She shouted and knowingly ran towards the danger.
                                                --------------------------
"Are you crazy!?" Sue shouted over the howling wind.
"No, desperate!" Callaghan shouted back. "I rigged this portal to implode in on itself!"
Sue looked at him as if he'd grown two heads.
"There's children in here, ya dang fool!" Came her reply.
"I'm not a child!" Varian protested as he struggled underneath the net.
Both villains ignored him.
"Oh, says the woman who attacked them with a bunch of deadly robots!"
"Oh please, their weapons were set to stun. I wasn't going to hurt a bunch of snot nosed brats... much."
As if to counteract this statement another robot ninja jumped out at them and shot a laser out of it's wrist right at Callaghan. The professor ducked out of the way as sparks flew around him. Then the wind from the portal sucked the android right into the void.
Sue, for once,  looked embarrassed at being called out in her hypocrisy.
"In my defense I don't know anything about programming robots." She said.
"Call off the bots, let everyone go, and I'll turn the portal off!" Callaghan said.
Just then the wind picked up even more, the net over the two boys flew off and Varian and Hiro would have been swept away into the nothingness had Baymax not caught them.
"Fine!" Sue relented as she pressed a button on a remote. "It's no skin off my nose if the portal doesn't get built or not."
Another robot, that had just entered from the upper level, suddenly collapsed and fell down to the floor in a heap as it was deactivated. Then it's remains along with the other destroyed robots got sucked into the portal as well.
Satisfied with her compliance Callaghan turned around to shut the terminal off, only for the computer to explode which led to the rest of the machine to catch on fire.
"Well what did you do now?!" Sue shouted.
"It wasn't me! That robot of yours must have damaged the controls!"
Just then, Abigail shoved past the doors.
"Dad!" She called to him desperately, choking back the smoke that started to fill the room,  and that was when Callaghan realized how badly he had screwed up.
Sue rolled her eyes. "Oh I've had enough of this! Stu, make us an exit! I'll salvage what we can here!"
"Right Nana!" Stu saluted. Then he revved up his skates, curled up into a ball, and basted himself at the concrete wall on the opposite side of the room at top speed.
He busted through three walls before coming out the other side and Hiro could just make out the glimmer of sunlight on the other end.
While Stu was busy with that, Sue skated right up to Callaghan and slugged him in the face. The professor fell backwards, clutching his jaw.
"Dad!" Abigail shouted again and ran to his side.
Sue skated over to the desk next to where they stood, or what was left of it. After finding what she wanted she turned to leave; only stopping long enough to give the murderous professor a sneer of pure disdain before skating away in a blur after her grandson.
As soon as she was gone a squeal of metal scraping against metal was heard. One of the portal's legs collapsed under The heat of the spreading fire and the gaping maw of the void turned at an angle towards the roof. The ceiling started to cave in from under the strain.
Everyone had to dodge out of the way quickly from the falling debris. One particularly large steel beam nearly fell right on top of Callaghan and Abigail, and he had to push his daughter away quickly. She stumbled back and was almost sucked into the void again until Baymax pulled her out of the way.
As the robot and the three humans huddled behind a concrete slab, Abigail tried to break away from the android's grip.
"Dad, no!" She sobbed.
"I'm alright!" Came Callaghan's call. "I'm just trapped on the other side!"
Abigail cried with relief.
"We're coming after you." Hiro shouted back.
"No, don't! You three get out of here! Take Abigail to safety."
"But what about you?" Varian yelled.
"Don't worry about me, I'll find another way out."
Soon they saw Callaghan start to climb up a ladder to the catwalk above.
"He must be trying to go around." Hiro said. "He'll never make it that way."
As if to confirm this, more debris fell from the collapsing roof, blocking their view of the professor. Hiro came to a decision.
"Baymax, take Varian and Abigail and get out. I'm going after Callaghan."
"That's crazy!" Varian protested.
"I do not feel that is a very safe option." Baymax agreed, but Hiro was already halfway finished climbing up the other side of the concrete slab.
"Don't worry, I got my gear! Just go on! Now!"
Baymax gave in to Hiro's orders and scooped Abigail up in arms. He then took off and flew away before Varian could crawl off his back.
                                                --------------------------
Varian casted a fearful look behind him as he watched Hiro run through the smoke. Then as they made it to the tunnel he watched in horror as the portal fell completely and the rest of the building started to come down.
"No stop!" He yelled. "We have to go after them!"
Either Baymax didn't hear him or the robot ignored his pleas; too set on following his previous commands.
As they neared the exit, Varian gathered his courage and jumped off the robot and onto the grassy ground that opened up below.
It took a moment for Baymax to realize what had happened. He turned around to see Varian running back into the burning building.
"No! Don't!" Abigail screamed after him.
"Baymax, get Abigail out of here, and have the rest of the gang fall back!" Varian yelled over his shoulder. "No telling what the range of the blast radius of the portal will be once it finally implodes in on itself!"
Then he dove out of sight into the tunnel.
                                                --------------------------
Hiro coughed as the smoke burned his lungs and stung his eyes. He searched for a way through the flames to the back of the former power plant, where the catwalk hung over head; dodging the debris that rained down around him. Then when he was directly under the service ramp, he used his electromagnetic whips to grab hold of the catwalk and pull himself up.
No sooner did he make it to the top, then did the portal fall down completely and along with it the rest of the roof.
A large hunk of the ceiling fell right on top of the walkway, snapping the metal railing into two. Hiro held on to the side desperately as the severed catwalk now shifted as it's structural integrity was compromised. Fortunately for him he had magnetic gloves on. Callaghan wasn't so lucky.
The professor went falling over the side as the ramp broke. He only just barely managed to grab hold of the bottom railing before falling into the void below. However he wasn't safe as the wind kept trying to suck him in and shook the broken catwalk ever which way.
                                                --------------------------
Varian pulled up his bandana over his nose to block out the smoke. He also pulled down his goggles to protect his eyes. Still there was little he could do about the insufferable heat nor the falling hunks of metal and stone.
Somehow though he managed to make his back through to the former lab. As he entered the flame filled room the first thing he did was to look up. He noticed Callaghan and Hiro hanging from the broken catwalk right away, but how was he to get them down?
He spotted a ladder near the wall and next to it a long linked chain. He ran up to it and with a few tugs he broke the chain free from the pulley hook it hung from. He quickly wrapped it around his shoulder like you would a rope and then started to climb.
                                                --------------------------
Hiro gauged the distance between him and Callaghan. It wasn't far, he could make it…. Or miss it completely and go tumbling into the void forever.
He gulped as he dared to look below him.
Just then the wind picked up speed once more and the catwalk bent under the force of the portal's suction.
"W-woah!" Callaghan screamed as he held on for dear life and Hiro himself gripped the railing beside him even tighter. He then threw out one of his whips to wrap around the end of the other catwalk leveling it somewhat.
"C-can you climb up?!" Hiro grunted.
Callaghan tried to, but failed. He was getting on in years and could no longer nimbly climb up the side of things like Hiro could. There was also the ever increasing pull of the portal to fight against.
"It- it's no use!" Callaghan called out. "Get out of Hiro! Save yourself! I don't want your death on my conscience as well!"
Those words hit Hiro deeper than Callaghan knew, and for a moment Hiro seriously considered following his advice and just leaving the man to his fate.
After all, there wasn't any obvious way to save him. Hiro would only be risking his life for nothing the longer he stayed. It wasn't murder just to save your own skin, not really, and well, Callaghan had brought this onto himself. All of it, the portal, his imprisonment, the fire…
Hiro gave the pathetic old man a cold glare; one that cut through even the inescapable heat of the rising flames around them.
Oh how he hated Callaghan!
He took a deep breath and retracted his magnetic whip, leaving the other side of the catwalk free to twist in the wind.
Still he didn't immediately turn to leave. Never taking his eyes off Callaghan, Hiro watched his brother's murderer flail about as he struggled to maintain his hold on the railing. Time felt like it had slowed to a crawl for Hiro as his mind was racked with indecision.
It would be so easy, he thought. So easy, and no one would blame him. His breath shallowed as he waited for the inevitable; his eyes fixated on Callaghan.
That's when Hiro noticed a foot fall behind him as the walkway shifted beneath him once more.
Varian was right behind him with a length of chain in his hands. The other boy said nothing, nor did he hand Hiro the makeshift rope.
Their eyes met and Hiro silently pleaded with him. Varian knew. Varian knew exactly what Hiro was going through. He knew the pain. He knew the desire. He knew what was happening, and he wasn't going to do anything to stop it.
It was Hiro's choice and Hiro's choice alone.
Hiro gulped once more as his heart pounded in his ears and angry tears stung his eyes.
No, Varian wouldn't judge him, but what about himself? What did he want? What was he willing to give up to get it? How could he face himself in the morning, or the next day, and everyday after that?
Hiro shook his head as everything suddenly became clear. There was no choice. Not really, as there was only ever one choice Hiro could live with.
He grabbed the chain out of Varian's hands and threw the other end to Callaghan. Once the professor had taken hold, both boys pulled him up. Then all three ran down the catwalk, slid down the ladder, and then dove through the hole in the wall.
                                                --------------------------
As the two teens and professor ran away from the collapsing building, they heard an explosion go off behind them. Callaghan grabbed them both and pushed them to the ground; using his own body to shield them as best he could as the shockwave passed over them.
Out of the corner of his eye, Hiro could see the trees around them bending backwards till their top branches nearly touched the ground. The earth trembled beneath them and a loud noise that made his ears ring sounded around them.
Finally, once Callaghan had deemed it safe enough, Hiro sat up to view the damage. Below them was a crater where the former power plant had stood. Not a sign was left of the portal.
"There they are!" Fred shouted behind them and Hiro turned to see his friends running towards them.
Abigail was also with them.
"Dad!" She ran up to her father first and wrapped her arms around him.
Callaghan broke down crying as he returned the hug. He kissed the top of head, and held her close, before cupping her face in his hands and nuzzling her nose the way he had always done when she was young.
It was the first time he had held his little girl in over five years.
"I missed you too, Dad." Abigail said as she snuggled closer to him and wrapped him another hug.
Hiro broke away from the celebration and the cheers of congratulations from his friends, as he watched Callaghan and Abigail reunite. Instead of joining in their merriment, he went and sulked underneath a tree overlooking the spot where the power plant once stood.
They all gave him space, except for Varian who walked over to join him. The other boy didn't say anything. He just rested a hand on Hiro's shoulder and sat beside him as everyone waited for the police to arrive.
"I still hate him." Hiro whispered as tears ran down his cheeks.
"Yeah, me too." Varian agreed.
And that was all that needed to be said. Hiro didn't regret saving Callaghan, but neither could bring himself to forgive Tadashi's murderer; even after all that happened; and that was okay. One didn't need to forgive in order to do the right thing, and in a small way that brought Hiro a little peace, even if the loss still hurt.
Still he couldn't help but smile a little bit, in spite of himself, when Judy also arrived along with the police. Krei had given her a lift as soon as they'd received  the text that Abigail had been rescued.
After the two girlfriends reunited, Abigail introduced her significant other to her dad, who was overjoyed at the news.
As Callaghan pulled both girls into a group hug, even Hiro had to admit they made a sweet family. Enough so, that Hiro almost felt sorry for them when Chief Cruz walked over to re-arrest the professor. Almost.
"I love you." Callaghan said as he entered the back of the police van.
"I'll see you next Tuesday; on visitor's day." Abigail sobbed. "We both will."
Callaghan tried to say something encouraging in response but the words caught in his throat as he choked on his own tears.
The police shut the door, and Abigail broke down again as she watched the police van drive away. Judy hugged her and planted a kiss on her cheek, as she wiped her tears away.
"Come on, I'll give you a ride back to your apartment." Krei gingerly stepped in and gently encouraged the two girls to follow him to the car.
"And don't worry about coming into work tomorrow. Take all the time you need." He told Judy as he opened the car door. She flung her arms around him in a grateful hug, to which Krei awkwardly returned. Judy wasn't known for being affectionate, not to him anyways.
"Uh, yeah, don't mention it." He said before breaking away and walked around into the driver's seat.
As the car drove away Cruz walked over to the superheroes. "I got a few questions for you."
"Yeah?" Hiro said as he got up walked over to the police chief.
"Do you know where Sue and her grandson are right now?"
"No."
"Do you know who was funding their portal research?"
"No."
"Then what do you know?"
"Callaghan didn't escape. Sue kidnapped him and blackmailed him." Fred offered up.
"So you said over the phone, but why?"
"Have you heard of the new crime lord running things since Di was arrested?" Gogo asked.
"Maybe. Were they behind this? Why are they after portal tech?"
Hiro shrugged, "We don't know."
"Do you know who they are?"
"Have you ever heard of an old supervillain called Kensei?"
Curz's eyes went wide at the mention of that name. "I'm going to need you to come down to the station with me."
The team of superheroes was startled by that.
"Sorry, but no, can do, officer." Hiro shook his head as Baymax flew up beside him.
"Wait! You're not under arrest; I promise,  I just need more information!" Cruz pleaded as the heroes took off running, their enhanced gear allowing them to move faster than his men.
Cruz took off his hat and threw it to the ground in frustration as the last of the supers disappeared.
                                                --------------------------
Supersonic Sue watched from above as the police departed. She had hid in the trees in order to spy on the gang of do-gooders.
"What now Nana?" Her grandson asked as they climbed down.
"Now, Stu, we go weasel some, I mean 'get paid', some money from my dear old friend, and then we high tail it out of here and laid low for awhile till this whole thing blows over."
"But we didn't get the portal, and the professor escaped?"
"Now don't you worry, none, hun. Nana's got everything under control." She said as she whipped out her cell phone.
"Hey Kensei? Yeah, got some bad news about that portal you wanted…. Now, now, don't go getting your knickers in a twist; I got something that still might interest you." Sue chuckled as she pulled out the blue notebook from her pocket.
                                                --------------------------
Wasabi pulled up to the gas pump and got out of the car.
"Do you guys want anything while we're here?" He asked the two boys riding in the back seat.
Hiro and Varian shook their heads no, and Wasabi left to go pay for the gas.
Once they had all safely gotten away from the police, it was decided by the group of teenagers to ditch their superhero gear and ride home normally.
Fred had called Heathcliff to pick him and the girls up, while Hiro and Varian volunteered to walk back with Wasabi to his car.
Baymax was currently in the trunk and had powered down into sleep mode in order to save on energy. It wouldn't do to have a 'drunk' robot running around the cafe on low battery, when their aunt came home.
Aunt Cass had texted them not too long ago to let them know she was leaving the hotel. Apparently Tracey's car had had a flat tire and they were getting a late start.
Thus far, on the ride back, neither boy had said much to the other. Each was lost in their own thoughts as Wasabi obliviously carried on all the conversation. It was mostly about opera as he had had the radio on.
Though without Wasabi's singing to distract them, Hiro started to grow uncomfortable with the silence.
"Hey, thanks, for helping out back there." He said.
"You're welcome." Varian replied in a tired manner.
"You know, I… I don't know what I would have done had you not shown up when you did."
Varian just shrugged. "Probably just save the day, like you always do." He then turned to look at Hiro. "I knew you wouldn't go through with it."
"How? How can you be so sure?"
"Cause, you're not me." Varian said as he looked away. "I would've let him fall. No hesitation."
Hiro didn't know what to say to that.
"I told you. Unlike you, I'm not a hero." Varian admitted as he felt Hiro's eyes on him. "I honestly don't know how you do it."
Hiro mulled over these words. "I guess… because I have good friends who support me and people to look up to. Who'll stop me from going too far."
Varian gave him a disbelieving smile. "People like your big brother I guess?"
"Yeah."
Varian shook his head. "Must be nice, having people around to help you when you need them. I'm not sure it'd make a difference in my case. I don't if anyone could have talked me down; not… not after what happened."
"Well," Hiro slowly said. "You never had a brother with you."
Varian nodded but didn't look at him, so Hiro contunited.
"Yup, it's a good thing my big brother was there today to help me out."
Hiro rested his hands behind his head as he said this and tried to act nonchalant, but he peeked out of the corner of his to watch Varian's reaction.
The other boy slowly looked up as realization dawned on his face.
Hiro smiled. "Thanks for being there for me."
"An-anytime." Varian answered with his own smile.
Hiro held out his hand for a fist bump. Varian returned it, the way Hiro and Baymax had taught him to do it. Then both boys wiggled their fingers and went "babalala", imitating their robot pal.
They couldn't keep a straight face when doing so though, and broke down into giggles.
"What's so funny?" Wasabi asked cheerfully as he entered the car.
"Oh nothing." Hiro snickered.
"Hey, hey, Wasabi, how about a driving lesson?" Varian pestered.
Wasabi rolled his eyes. "After the sport's car incident?"
"Not me, Hiro."
Wasabi turned back and looked at Hiro thoughtfully. "Well, alright, get on up here."
                                                --------------------------
Hiro was finishing tidying up his room when he heard the familiar tune of La Cucaracha blaring down from the street below.
"Hey, Varian! Aunt Cass is back!"
He called to the other teen as he ran downstairs.
"Ok, all I got left to vacuum is the bathroom rug!" He called after before switching on the machine once more. "Be down in a sec!"
"Bye Tracey, see ya later." Aunt Cass called after her friend as she entered the cafe and her friend drove away.
She dumped her bags on the floor and let out a sigh of relief.
"Wooh, vacation will wear you out." She said as she leaned against the door.
"Hi Aunt Cass." Hiro ran to give her a hug. "Did you have a nice time?"
His aunt ignored the question "Oh Hiro, how are you, sweetheart?"
"I'm fin- ... I'm doing better."
"Did you hear about Callaghan?" she asked.
"Yeah, it was on the news today. They caught him."
"Yeah, Cruz texted me about it."
She stroked her fingers through his hair and pouted. "Do you still want to talk… about… well, you know?"
Hiro seriously considered it.
"Maybe later," he said, "I talked to Varian about it earlier today and I'm feeling a lot better now."
"Really?"
Hiro nodded his head.
"Well, I'm glad you two can open up to each other like that, and be there for one another. I'm also glad you two didn't burn the house down while I was gone."
Aunt Cass laughed at her own joke and Hiro joined in, but soon he weighed in with one more question, before moving on from the whole ordeal.
"Do.. Do you still hate him? Callaghan, I mean?"
Aunt Cass looked at him thoughtfully before answering.
"Yes." She nodded. "Do you?"
"Yeah." He sniffed.
Both aunt and nephew shared a silent moment for their grief as they came to an understanding before wrapping each other in a hug once more.
That was when Varian came down the stairs to join them.
"Hey!" He greeted, before embracing Aunt Cass in his own hug.
He practically lifted her off her feet as he did so, and for the first time Aunt Cass noticed that her adopted child was now taller than herself.
"What?" He laughed as he caught her giving him a funny smile.
"Nothing, I'm just glad to be back home." She said before wrapping both teens onto a group hug. "Oooh, I missed my boys sooo much, both of you!"
"We missed you too Aunt Cass." Hiro said.
"Yeah, next time you should just take us with you." Varian joked. "That way we can skip out on chores too, am I right Hiro?"
Hiro rolled his eyes at Varain's teasing. "Yeah, anything to avoid washing your dirty socks."
Even Aunt Cass couldn't help but laugh at that.
                                                --------------------------
"Such a happy family." A woman's voice said as she peered at the Hamadas through her crystal ball. "Pity, their time is coming to an end."

Note
hi, do you have any manga/anime you'd recommend? I have not watched/read like anything popular, so no recommendations are off the table. I only just finished naruto and was like hey I actually really liked that (except for the huge flop at the end lmao) and decided to try some of the other big mangas and ended up reading one piece....... (some of the characters are fun, and the pirate setting is cool but oh god, at what cost???) anyway, i trust no one but you now, and I need a new hyperfixation or i'll die :)
I do need to clarify to everyone that I actually don't watch/read too much anime/manga. Especially recent popular stuff.
But I do want to push Samurai Flamenco onto everyone. It satirizes the super hero/power rangers genre and includes lots of gay shenanigans but also has some of the most insane plot twists of all time.
I am currently (slowly) rewatching Tiger & Bunny which is satirizing the same genres, has some more lowkey gay subtext if that's what y'all want, if you watch the non-netflix version there's LOTS of poking fun at capitalism/branding (but it's removed in netflix because they couldn't retain the licenses for the brands it was mocking...).
If you ned to watch just one... watch Samurai Flamenco
And honestly... that's the closest thing to Naruto I can rec? Like in terms of battle-y, action based stuff. Shounen-core stuff. And even then they're not that simialr... Naruto was an outlier for me in many ways, though I did looove Bleach until... I didn't love bleach.
Don't watch Bleach.
Haikyuu is a sports anime I had a lot of fun with but also nothing new has been announced for the anime in like… years… and idk if I can recommend hte manga because I find the volleyball scenes to be impossible to follow in the manga form shgkjsdg But the manga IS done!!
If you liked Sasuke... watch/read Hunter x Hunter and meet my pal Kurapika :) It ALSO has some massive hiatuses and it's source material isn't finished BUT it's getting an update VERY SOON and it's VERY EXCITING! HxH and its predecessor YYH inspired a lot of shounen tropes that exist to this day except... it does them well.
Stuff that I wouldn't necessarily recommend based on your Naruto enjoyment but like in general: Tongari Boushi no Atelier (Witch Hat Atelier), Dungeon Meshi (Delicious in Dungeon), No. 6 (I've only watched the anime and haven't read the source material, so idk what's better), and Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. Oh!! And Blue Period (manga > anime)
Almost everything else that I post on my anime blog I have either forgotten, I do not feel comfortable recommending because it hasn't aged well, or I don't... actually remember that well btu just have fond vague memories of :)

One Piece Chapter 1037 - Initial Thoughts
Tumblr media
And we are back, hope y'all had a good new year
Because now it's over and real life has kicked in! It's okay though, we still have One Piece and it's the first chapter of the year (unless you're just following Viz and then it's the second)
King's down, Queen's down, and we're looking like we may check in with Luffy, but there's still a lot of moving pieces so let's see how this one goes
Spoilers for the Chapter, Support the Official Release
Everybody stop what you're doing and rejoice, Reiju's on the cover story! Baeju confirmed alive! I mean, Judge and Ichiji too but I don't really care about them
We're back in the Fire Festival, but no Hitetsu or Toko, regular people sensing the party's almost over, some bitter, some just living in the glow of the paper mache Toki float
Lanterns are coming out too, with messages written on them on what people desire, still very intrigued how this will come into play
Back with Luffy and Kaido though, and Kaido is now getting boozed up
Least he offered Luffy some, Zoro would be all over that, but it's not like we could celebrate him trying to turn Wano into a pirate hive by squashing the capital and forcing all survivors into slave labour...
Well at least he's being a happy drunk right now, kinda acting like Luffy mixed with Saul
Oda making sure we know that being drunk isn't gonna affect Kaido's threat level, he matrix dodged that Roc Gun
And that was a meaty looking hit
The dome is crumbling, and it's right underneath Big Mom, keep an eye on that it may come back - like I envision Luffy winning will be shown on the Performance Floor but what if the debris KO's Big Mom and it's just Luffy standing over 2 KO'd Yonko? Morgans might die from all the Big News
Kaido's back to his dragon form now, but he's in his Sad Drunk phase, lamenting his inability to stop the castle falling apart...which is weird considering he's dropping it on the Capital knowing that it's loaded with explosives
5 Years to rebuild? Kaido you need a Franky...and if that giant sword gets damaged I don't think you can replace it
Luffy tries to attack, but he does his Dragon Twister, which Luffy parries away with his Haki (according to twitter people think this'd make Zoro fans mad because Luffy deflected something Zoro also deflected with his sword...people are silly sometimes)
Well now we have Hybrid Crying Drunk, a form we have seen before
He goes for the Thunder Bagua, but Luffy's been hit with it enough times to have it scouted
Really well-times move to both dodge and land on the weapon, before giving Kaido la chancla!
Kaido catches him with the tail though, leading to a badass panel of a Conqueror's Coated headbutt clash!
A clash Kaido wins, his Haki has gotten stronger, I wonder if getting drunk improves Kaido's haki, since Haki is tied to emotions too maybe he should've drank spirits
Angry drunk Kaido now, accusing Luffy of almost sobering him up. This is probably what we got in Bakura Town with the first Thunder Bagua
Luffy dodges Kaido firin his lazar but his Roc Gatling is clashed with Kaido's Gundari: Meteor Shower, both sides taking hits in the end
Luffy dodges the swing and gets a brutal kick to Kaido's gut to finish off this session, Kaido's taking damage but he's also still smiling in the face of damage, it's that unnerving tension that while damage is being done it doesn't feel like enough
Now we're going all the way back to Marejois! Sounds like the Gorosei aren't happy with what went down at the Reverie, which tbf is a promising thing since they were about to target Vivi
They are setting sights on Wano, which tbf they should've done years ago I mean I still feel robbed that Tashigi didn't get a part to play in the Land of Swords
'Nico Robin must have been apprehended by now' - Aha boy are you fucking wrong
Now they're talking about killing her? Boy if you think this was a war you have no idea what trying to kill Robin would do to you
The WG ships en route to Wano are being intercepted though, by a 'big shadow'
Wait a Devil Fruit!? You telling me this is a Devil Fruit's work?
ZUNESHA IS A DEVIL FRUIT, AND IT'S HERE IN WANO!
Oda come onnnnn, we've waited multiple weeks for this then you throw another break, not cool!
Well this is a wild chapter
The added focus on the Fire Lanterns makes me feel like they are going to play a role, maybe ghosts, maybe Momo can use the lanterns like Fire Clouds, something's gonna go down there.
Luffy and Kaido are still popping off, I expect that's all we'll see for now until we've wrapped up some more things but it is promising that Luffy is getting hits in and being acknowledged by Kaido, but given how Luffy isn't using any Gear Fourth it's clear that he still thinks Kaido has plenty in the tank. At least we got some variety with Kaido being drunk, tying back to pre-Wano appearances.
But then you go drop a bomb like that!? I mean I was wondering if Zunesha was gonna make an appearance since Momo stuck around on Zou while Luffy was in WCI but what does this mean!? What is Zunesha exactly? Was it Momo who awakened it by giving it an order? Will it be able to help Momo with Onigashima?
The last part I doubt because it's at sea but it may be warding off the WG, do have to wonder though if the BM Pirates will get involved, given how they've been knocked down to the sea thrice now
We'll have to wait...and wait, but Oda keeps throwing us curveballs that make this arc (at this point I feel like we should call it a saga) even more jam packed! 2022 is gonna be another wild year for One Piece.
