i don't think i have it in me to watch philza minecraft's too many hours hardcore streams, so I'm just curious- how does he do lore for his hardcore series?

I can give you the info I know, and I am 100% certain there are people who can give more thorough explanations and/or correct me. @rakkuntoast is someone on tumblr who I know is much more informed than me about Philza lore.

Most of Philza's hardcore streams are him building these massively cool builds. But, the Lore of the series is that he is more of an archeologist or historian, discovering these locations and the story behind them.

A lot of the Lore is delivered by him explaining and narrating the story of the world as he builds. Occasionally, he will go through the whole story of the world for new viewers who don't already know. And sometimes, happy accidents or jokes just become a part of the story.

The main lore is this.

The Enderking, a God who ruled the End, was greedy and thought he deserved to be in control of everything, so he set about stealing everything for himself.

He tried to pull in parts of the Nether, but was stopped by the Blaze Empress, goddess of the Nether. Part of the Nether is still affected by this tussle, seen in the Nethervoid build. Also, during this clash, two of the Blaze Empress's BEST warriors known as He and She were separated. They were in love, but never confessed to each other their feelings. Now they are just lava pools, separated forever. (He and She were added because Kristin convinced Phil to put a smiley face in a lava pool and the Lore sprung from there).

Then, there is Flowerfall. Flowerfall was the home of the Ocean Overlord (Affectionately called Ocean Himbo by the Crows and I had to actually google what his title was because I couldn't think of it other than Himbo). The Ocean Overlord was a god of, well, the ocean. He lived in this massive underwater palace. When the Enderking was stealing parts of the world, the Ocean Overlord was asleep. He was asleep through the whole War, actually. And the Enderking nearly ripped his house out from under him! It was only another deity, Rose, who stopped the Enderking from stealing the Ocean Overlord's house.

The Gods (Minus beloved Himbo) fought against the Enderking and kicked him out of their realms. I'm not remembering exactly, but I think that in this tussle and the return of the Ocean Overlord's home, the sea flooded the End, creating Endlantis (someone correct me on this, if its wrong). The Enderking was slain (however, he's a god so he's not REALLY dead). His corpse lies underneath Endlantis, always possible that he could return.

There are a ton of details that are added onto this, but those details are really only fleshed out in one-off moments within Phil's streams. Like, Phil adding a tree at Spawn where the Blaze Empress and Rose send each other gifts and messages because they are such good friends (Crows know they are gal pals, even if Phil doesn't confirm it). Others are derived from accidents like the Battle of Endlantis, which was where multiple dragons were accidentally spawned, and Phil had to kill them off. Or when Phil lost his trident in the void, he made it big and existant in the newest season as if it had transcended dimensions.

There are other gods that we haven't been introduced to, as well. I think there are 2 more that he hasn't named. However, yeah, its kind of hard to keep up with all of the Lore if you aren't able to constantly watch it. I know there is a really good video of Philza explaining his Hardcore Lore to, I THINK, Slimecicle? But I couldn't find it. If anyone knows where it is, please link yes!

Well, ig it's time for me to talk about one of my favorite lores and streamers at this point.

Fit MC of 2B2T and his tragedy.

Honestly, when I watched the launch of QSMP I was full on Philza watcher. I never knew Fit before, but I was charmed by his voice, humor and friendship with crow father. And honestly I never even expected any lore from him, so when his first lore stream happened I was pleasantly surprised! So, I really want to express how much I love Fit's lore. It's not in your face and has a lot of subtle hints and build up. Honestly, it's not an essay but rather an expression of true admiration of masterful story telling in form of incoherent ramblings.

(I'll try to compose it, but I can't promise it'll always be coherent)

So let's start with quick review of his lore. FitMC of 2B2T is, evidently from the oldest anachy server. It's described as wasteland, where you can't trust or be trusted. Once he was approached by a person, whom Fit can't remember. It was a contractor who sent our favorite war criminal to the Qsmp with a mission to steal player data. Everything up from there is in vods.

Well, it is a great start, isn't it? At this point we have a very sad start. Practically no trust and emotional connection to anything. The eternal destruction, explosions, deaths and betrayals don't teach you anything different. So once he came to the server, I imagine, Fit didn't care about anything but mission. Player data and that's all, but right from the start this mindset started to change because of the greatest misfortunes of any mercenary or a 2b2t player. Emotional connection.

So now let me break this up into some sections.

Philza: you really thought I won't bring him up? As a greatest (platonic) Fitza/Wallflower duo enjoyer or just a Phil watcher, I couldn't leave him out of this post. I really think that Fit's learning started with crow father. From the start we know that they're at least are acquaintances. But throughout all this months they grew into something more. Philza's trust is hard to get, but if you get it this'll be worth it. Yet Fit got it. Throughout the good old days of Qsmp, when everything was easier, Fitza always were together. No matter was it a life threat or a camping trip with kids, they're with each other. Trusting to each other enough to letting each other in eggs' homes. And after feces hit the fan, it didn't change. A person, who was taught to never trust a soul and to survive no matter what, was standing there, saying "I'm with you, Phil" In the midst of attack. The trust between them is just incomprehensible. A paranoid hardcore survivor and a war criminal, with a lot of secrets and separetion anxiety, became best friends. If anything goes South for Phil, Fit'll be spying, controlling situation. If a wise crow ever starts loosing his sense of reality, this soaked in blood hand will lay on his shoulder, reassuringly. And it isn't one sided. If Fit needs anything Philza instantly passes him it ("You're too good to me"). Phil shares everything he can with Fit and even trusted the Dream to him. And Fit even had a small separation anxiety attack, just cuz Phil was gone for a few seconds. They are so close, Fit even considered letting in Phil on his purpose, Aaaaah... They're gonna be the death of me. Philza learned Fit friendship/ platonic love.

"You [Phil] and I [Fit].... We walk into churches and they burn just by our presence."

Ramon: the baby boy made in heaven by God himself. There's so much to be said here. Once again, coming into the island, Fit never expected to connect with someone, especially to have a son. After having a rocky relationship with Spreen was left one on one with a child. The absurdity of situation is just as laughable, as ironic. A man, who's hobby was killing kids with no back thought, was now stuck with a child, having no idea of how to raise him. And, honestly, he did pretty good! He gave Ramon freedom, but always was here, close enough to help if needed. Of course he wasn't the saint, yet he always tried to be as honest as he could, even letting him on the "Family secret". Ramon loves his dad, and it's obvious by how he helps Fit with his job, building him a communication with his contractor. The little one even taught this cold person to be kinder and more open. They only have each other. And Fit is ready to do anything if it means he'd get to leave with his baby boy by his side. Also I don't wanna hear a scrap about 2b2t historian not caring about his son's disappearance. He does. After behaving and distancing himself from his past antics, he decided to burn the ship, where Ramon lost his first life, just to avenge his baby. He visits his sons house every stream, looking if maybe he came back. If you want any prove of how much they care about each other search Ramon's graduation. They made each other better and their love is just aaahhh. I love them. Ramon taught Fit parental love.

"Baby boy, made in heaven, by God himself.."

PacTW: the last, but not least, Pacman himself. Oooh, love, oooh, lover boy.... Now, I haven't watched a lot of their interactions, but from all I've seen they're suuuuper in love/crush. All those little glances to each other, protection, quality time... Honestly, I think these two videos explain everything. They trust each other and at least have a crush on each other. And once again, there're a lot of small moments that prove this point. Fit having a small panic attack over not seeing pac for a few seconds and even helping to find Walter Bob and Mike. And Pac, no matter how much he loves Mike, didn't drop Fit after the latter was accused of being a traitor. Love is blooming, and even though it's "baby steps" These are still steps. It takes a lot to relearn trust and especially this kind of intimacy, when all you knew before was war, betrayal and lie. And thus Pac taught him love and trust.( I'm not big on shipping but every time hide duo hug my life gets a little better).

"Baby steps, chat. Baby steps. (Puts roses Pac gifted him)"

But, why did I call Fit and his fate tragic, and then just list all the good interactions Qsmp gave him. After all he experienced at 2b2t , this island seems like a heaven. But, Fit was, is, and forever will be stranger at the paradise (this man is way too good at presenting lore. Even music gives us soo much things to think about... I love it.). No matter how much Fit loves people around him and feels this being reciprocated, he'll never have this full closure. He knows and believes that once everyone knew his mission, they'll hate him. Even people I listed before. He'll never be fully honest with anyone (apart from Ramon), and no matter how people love him. Fit truly feels for Baghera, when she told him about her past and her fear of telling it to BBH. It is literally what he struggles with. This dialogue has a lot of good foils and parallels. The fear of their past, full trust/ forced lie, darkness/ light, and eventually positive outlook. Baghera was eventually able to trust Bad with her secret, yet Fit wasn't. But this paradise spoiled this war criminal. It made him more trusting, more social. Fit can't now be alone, cuz he connected with people. This server, though is full of secrets, lies and danger, is still a paradise. A heaven on earth for a lonely man...

So the last part of this long ahh post is about his desire. The one thing that convinced Fit to go to qsmp. Freedom. Which he doesn't have. By making this deal with Contractor he fell into the trap. He must to find this player data, or else he'll return to the world he tried to escape. For forever. With no way out. But once he came to the server, Cucurucho will never let him go. So he's now in double trap. Yet the biggest trap is Ramon. He's prepared to sacrifice everything for his baby boy, and can't leave the island without him. And without Ramon Fit wouldn't be able to contact the contractor. So in creating connections, Fit traps himself further.

I can't really call it a character analysis, but it's all I see in Fit's lore. A very lonely war criminal, that got so tired of distrust and destruction, that he agreed on a spy mission. But once his mission started he learned how to love and care, that he trapped himself further. Love isn't a miracle that saves you, but it's a very useful tool. Once you learn to understand and reciprocate it, life may become better. (Sorry, it's super cheesy, but I think it encompasses Fits character very good) .

Fit is a spy. They're not supposed to have a family and love, because they can't stay for long. And I think at first, Fit saw everything and everyone as just a means to an end. Just the player data. But after all that has passed he can't be the same. He has a son, friends and a possible love interest. Will he be able to still continue his mission? Will he still betray them and they're trust? I don't know.

But I now I love how cc! Fit does his lore. It isn't so in the face and doesn't affects other, yet it is so layered. Everything is so important down to the music choice aaaaagh. I don't even pretend to analyse everything in his lore like contractor, memory loss, head aches and ect.

I just love it. It's marvelous.

I am not exactly entirely good with character or relationship analysis (A reason why my dumb fox head is aroace because I am not good w/ navigating romantic relationships)

So this is just my best effort writing the dynamic Q! Philza and Q! Missa have.

I do like to headcanon, like others, that Philza is indeed aroace, but not in a way, that like he doesn't understand what platonic or romantic means. Sure, it's funny to tease Philza about it, but it's also true that close friends could very much do so. I think Philza is quite aware of what is romantic and platonic, he knows the boundaries of it. I mean Philza is literally married to the Goddess of Death (implied) Kristin. It's more or less that Philza doesn't simply care for such labels. (I very much hc that Philza could probably be genderfluid, like me- Peeposmile)

It's something Philza even mentioned in the live stream when talking about the deities in hardcore world. It's something they don't care about and just vibe with whatever they're vibing with. They don't care and I think Philza is the same in that mindset. He just doesn't care, and will be blunt about it, if he needs to actually talk about it.

Philza seems to deeply cherish those that are ... similar to himself from what I can tell. I don't fully watch Fit or other POV to get a clear understanding of Phil's relationship w/ others so I'm sorry if I don't include them, same with Technoblade. I've recently started watching mcyt again and I don't want to talk about something I don't have a full understanding of.

Anyways, Phil deeply connects with those that share similar traits to him in some regard. Techno whose the Blood God, who clearly has an understanding of death, war and loyalty and this clearly shows via Missa too. Missa, while not a fighter, does understand death and how important it is... He literally is a gentle grim reaper. He understands death much clearly, because his mother is also a Goddess tied to Death as well. Missa is also fiercely loyal to Phil and his children, because honestly, he was so busy! He didn't have to return to Quesadilla Island but he did because he cares about Phil and his children, quickly adopted Tallulah and he hadn't even seen her yet.

Whoever Phil trusted and guards with his life, Missa will guard that person with his life as well. Of course, unless, we talk about BadboyHalo then that's another discussion LOL. Such a mess between the demon (?) and grim reaper.

Anyways, we know how much Phil values such loyalty that, I cannot remember what Tubbo said, but he immediately locked Tubbo out of his own home because of what he said about someone and while despite implied flings with others. Philza never spoke about others the way he speaks about Missa.

Their relationship definitely...crosses the line of platonic and romantic. I can see why it would be considered queer platonic relationship, but also at the same time, it's like there is some line being breached which makes everyone raise an eyebrow cause sir, what do you mean platonic-

Philza is clearly...possessive over Missa, because the way he got so defensive when Bagi mentions Antoine (right?) and Missa should date. Philza didn't have to get so defensive, because Missa already immediately denied. Philza could have kissed anyone else, like Fit, but chose Missa instead. He even demanded Tall Missa to the admins, got jealous over any shipping fanart and acts like he's fine and doesn't miss Missa at all. *Coughs in* "I'm going to f*cking off myself. Did Missa log on again?!" (Side eye Philza)

Like he's done lots of things that makes everyone just raise an eyebrow- Philza is fooling no one but himself (& Missa)

I also enjoy the lore Missa has going on with accepting that he is indeed a part of the family and isn't alone. Missa had just lost Spreen, and suddenly, he had no one but the Angel of Death as his assigned partner. Missa must have felt so unmatched compared to Philza because what could he even offer to the family? He had nothing but his music and kind words, which is everyone that Death Family wanted. Missa brought a different change to the family that makes them be vulnerable, to not be so serious all the time and to actually just relax and be like a family that's just on vacation.

I mean, and just talking about loyalty and kindness. Missa never gave up... He fought his way back, despite getting taken away by wolves and suddenly Badboyhalo being so cruel. He always made sure his family was safe and always brought something for them.

Didn't Missa say he got lost because he tried to find a gift for Philza?! Like...the commitment to find a perfect gift for Philza, and still returning (sure, without the gift). While it's hilarious, Missa doesn't run away because of his wet cat behavior. He runs away because he doesn't want to put his family in danger, he cannot fight as well as others can. He relies on others to fight for him and then he jumps in to help, but because the time zone doesn't allow such things. Missa is forced to run.

And Missa is good at it. He will run as far as he can, if it means his family will be safe. He isn't running away from his family, but the danger because at the end of it all, he will return back to his family, no matter how long it takes.

And Missa casually admitted to Chayanne that he needs Philza more than he realized, the same way Philza realizes he needed Missa but didn't dare admit, whether it is out of fear or something else that he couldn't voice it. But Philza clearly showed it through his actions, that he brought/dragged Missa to Rose's Sanctuary before they went to sleep forever. He didn't have to do so, but he did... indicating their bond is much deeper because Rose's Sanctuary is literally a pocket dimension that no one cannot access.

Missa has access. Now he sleeps eternally with his family...

Also their whole dynamic just being Sun/Moon. Fated to never see each other at times, until an eclipse and yet...they still leave signs to let the other know that they're still remembered. This also brought to my attention how Missa is afraid of the sky, while Philza yearns for the sky/to fly.

You think The Sun (Philza) misses the Moon (Missa) so much, because of how far they are, instead of just not seeing each other. The Moon clings to Earth, because they're afraid to go beyond...to something unknown while the Sun cannot stay still, and yearns to burn and be free.

Deathduo/Pissa has me on chokehold.

I do hope this was an interesting analysis, I'm not very good at this..honestly it's probably just me rambling if anything.

YES HELLO these took me a hot second, I wanted to do Missa justice bc the fandom tends to just reduce him to nice wet cat in love with Phil. Unfortunately he gets on so little, I don't have a lot more than that to run with, so what you see is what you get and they're more Phil-POV'd. 😭

Listen man. Missa's place in Phil's silly polycule? It's not strictly romantic (if at all) and not strictly platonic, it's a secret third thing. I don't hc Phil or Missa as aro but what they've got going on is def smth some aros would enjoy. The best way to explain it is Kiss The Homies. Except there's a massive crush on Missa's end.

Phil loves doing literally everything with Missa. Exploring, egg care, goofing around, whatever. Quality time and gift giving are his love languages no matter the type of love. He just loves hanging out.

Phil can do no wrong in Missa's eyes. He's this amazing (and very pretty), smart, caring and powerful guy. He cares so much about people, how could he possibly do wrong? Missa is the #3 Philza Minecraft defender (he concedes that Chayanne & Lullah are #1 and #2).

Missa doesn't understand the whole Bolas thing but he's happy it seems to make Phil happy. He thinks? (The word he's looking for isn't happy, it's manic /lh)

Being away so often sucks, but Missa loves coming back and getting stories from Phil. ... The good ones, not the [lore] ones. Those scare him.

They love exaggeratedly rping nuclear family to tease Chayanne. Holding each other making kissy noises like OoOoH MiSsA I LoOoOvE yOu! OoOoOh PhiLzA I LoOoOvE yOu tOoOoOo! And then Chayanne starts (lovingly) hitting them

The rare times Phil is doing something that doesn't require him to move around, Missa gets a free lap pillow. Phil's good at playing with hair, Missa knocks right the fuck out

And Missa likes putting little braids n stuff in Phil's hair. Actually he looks damn good with those little side ones tbh.

There's something funny about the Angel of Death and a reaper being so close. When the kids are asleep, they swap stories about Missa's past reaping jobs and Phil's,, adventures

Speaking of Phil's past, Missa hasn't doubted him for a single second about what little of the hardcore gods Phil has shared with him. El Ender King es una pequeña perra. >:(

Actually he REALLY wants a full-on lore dump from Phil. The stories sound so fascinating. He wants to know more.

One of Phil's favorite things about Missa is how easy to startle he is. Missa screeches never get old.

Dependable as ever, Phil is the first one Missa goes to when he's missing information or scared. Phil always has answers and he can always protect him!! (*is heavily implying angst here, no Phil can't :)*)

Usually it happens when Phil is 100% alone but he does genuinely get a lil depressed when he misses Missa badly. He wanders to distract himself

Sorry my demons so a bunch of stuff happens on the island bla bla bla  but the important thing is that all the eggs get kidnapped and no one (not even the evil federation that runs the island) knows where they are and the parents are told to get on a train to be relocated to some random island until the federation deals with the missing eggs but the train is hijacked and the players are now in purgatory this event was hell

this fucking event was hell on earth. Not only for us, the viewers, but also for the ccs The rules are these: Islanders are separated into 3 different teams Red (aka BOLAS?!?!? -thats their actul name ), Green (aka team green ninjas), and Blue (aka team soulfire)

there is a big evil guy and he is the one that kidnapped the eggs and he runs this event all the teams have tasks that need to be done in a day and the team with the highest score is the winner of that day

The 'ultimate winner' is the team who has won the most days across the two-week period. The winning team gets to choose some of the eggs to come back home with them

then the hell begins im gonna talk about team bolas here cause they are the ones i watched the most but team green ninjas and team soulfire were also very fun  team bolas consists of:

at fistr team bolas tried to talk to the other teams, they didn't start fighting right away because why would they! these people were their friends! the people that helped them and that they made a community with, why would they mindlessly start killing each other? so team bolas tried to talk and the other teams respond by killing them over and over 

and over

and over again they kept killing team bolas even tho they only wanted to talk| at the end of the first day team bolas was fucking depressed as fuck they also went insane yk jaiden, jaiden animation ? if you don't she is an animator and is generally kid-friendly and doesn't swear super much im saying this because one of the most popular clips from the purgatory even was her screaming “kill yourself” from the top of her lungs i don't have the clip saved but if i find it ill send it to you is so funny anyway, so yeah team bolas went insane they all started wearing these gas masks and it looks so fucking cool 

oh and the ccs wore actual gas masks irl look

also everyone (but especially baghera and cellbit) got super attached to phil and started calling him dad, an now baghera has trauma and is super clingy to phil cause she sees him as a father figure 

also everyone on team bolas HATES bbh i hope he dies and burns and is tortured eternally <33

(bbh was fucking ruthless and was a notorious spawn killer and gave everyone but especially charlie trauma)

but after the disaster that were the first couple of days team bolas made an insane comeback and manage to fucking win the event!!!

so in conclusion bolas forever <3

there are a lot of more fun moments from the purgatory event (like charlie terrorizing quackity, everyone going insane when carre logged in, that one time charlie pretended to be wilbur) but these were the basics of team bolas

Techno for sure, he was the first mcyt I watched in 2021 when I was getting back into minecraft and all that. Unfortunately, since he passed, cTechno kinda ends with dsmp so there's only so much canon I can work with yk

But yea, I used to not actually know too much about Philza tbh, not until half way through the qsmp/earlier this year even. Like yeah I was into his dsmp character, but once they started getting his hardcore dieties involved in qsmp is when I really started finding him interesting! It helps that ccPhil is commissioning 3 animatics for his characters lore, so yk, cPhilza content in 2024. (ill be so real, when qsmp started i was following ccwil and that's how I came to love Tallulah, and since he was gone all the time, I watched Phil for Tallulah which led to me liking him and chayanne as well. since I don't follow ccwil anymore, all my attention got shifted to ccPhil lmao)

AND YEAH CHAY AND LULLAH!! I got accepted to write a short fic about them for a qsmp zine and ended up writing 3.4k. They're babies. I love them. So much

I have questions about Philza hardcore season 4 lore

Can you tell me about Godess Rose's personality? I saw a theory that she is who sent Philza to the birdhouse but she seems too aware and kind to do that, I think.

The other gods in Philza's HC lore seem to have straight forward personalities: Ender King: Greedy, Blaze Empress: Badass, Ocean Overlord: Himbo

Also how do the gods view Philza? Is he like a a stray dog you see at work sometimes to them or a coworker or a flying bug that likes to hear their stories?

Okay so touching on the first bit, her connection to the birdhouse. My interpretation of it was not that she sent Phil to the birdhouse maliciously, but touched it in a way to protect him. It's in the little details - note the way that Cucurucho placed a security craft door at the end of that stream, and when Phil 'woke up' there the first time, the door was a wooden door covered in vines. I think that whatever the Federation tried to do to Phil, Rose actually interfered and softened that blow, maybe by sending Phil to dream of the hardcore world? There's still some fuzzy stuff in there - why did Rose obscure herself from Phil for so long, et cetera, and I don't quite know what to make of that yet. perhaps time will tell.

Here's what we know about Rose as far as her personality: she's the oldest and the most powerful of the gods, and she is first and foremost a pacifist. But she's a pacifist insofar that like. her primary goal is protection of her realm, and she doesn't take any of the ender king's shit when he tries to fuck with them. in phil's hardcore world, he built a pumpkin farm which he covered with a big void spike, identical to the ones that pop up from the floor of nethervoid (all of which are from ender) and he had the overworld void spike sliced in half by rose, as she put a very swift stop to the Ender King trying to take over her Greater Spawn Islands domain. So, she's a pacifist, and she's also a caretaker - see how she restored Flowerfall when the Ender King took that from the Ocean Overlord, she did that for Ocean since he wasn't awake to do anything about it himself, though iirc she was a little peeved by his sleepiness that led to inaction.

She's a pacifist, but very far from a doormat, she just prefers to use her powers to heal and restore rather than to attack. But she still went along with Ocean's plan to flood the End, and so on. Protection is really her primary goal.

And as for how the deities view Phil...honestly that's something we're still learning in QSMP. In Hardcore, Phil doesn't reallllyyy interact with the deities At All. speaking strictly canonically, hc!phil entered the world after all of the great events between the deities occurred, and he functions as an archeologist/historian as he explores the world. While cc!phil is building all of these big projects, hc!phil is more like...uncovering them, and learning about the histories of these realms as he does so. hc!phil doesn't actually come in contact with the deities ever, that's not something phil ever rps during hardcore portions of his stream. So the relationship that q!phil has with the deities is something we're still learning about, but what we know is that Phil remembers enough of Rose to know that she's a safe presence, and he remembers enough of Ender to know that he's fucking terrified of him and his abilities. But what we've seen in those streams is pretty much all we've got.

Hi, Philza lore dump incoming.

I don't know how much of Phils streams you have watched and how much of his connected hardcore lore you know so I'll try to make this as comprehensive as possible.

I'll start with Hardcore lore but fyi we don't know a lot as Phil is still developing/telling us it.

Phil imagines his hardcore worlds as layers of reality linked by the Void. Phil has said that as a character he is an archaeologist or adventurer uncovering locations and stories as he explores. He is also the reincarnated version of his previous self - when he dies in a world he is essentially reborn in the next with presumably all his past memories.

His current lore in hardcore is centred around 6 deities - Phil has described their power level as that of a really strong demi-god not a full god. The deities are called Rose, the Blaze Empress, the Ocean Overlord, two we don't yet know the names of and the Ender King (nicknamed Enderpookie by chat). Each one rules over a domain or part of the world and there was a great war between the 5 and the Ender King which resulted in his "death".

The Ender King holds domain over the End and is very greedy and power hungry. He has the power to take parts of the world and shrink them which resulted in him stealing structures and biomes and transporting them to his home in the End. When he steals a part of the world he leaves behind a negative space which the world tries to fill in. He is also in lore responsible for the near extinction of the Ender Dragon species. His goal was to combine the realms together to have ultimate control over them and by trying this he forced the other deities to work together and combine their power to stop him.

When he tried to fully combine the realms the deities used their combined power to trick him into summoning an entire overworld ocean to the End and he died surrounded by his treasures in a now flooded base.

We now know that only his physical body died and that his essence/being survived but was severely weakened. This is where QSMP lore comes into play, we believe as it has been strongly hinted at, that the Ender King is planning on possessing Phil and using his body as a vessel.

Before Purgatory the birdhouse incident happened along with a book and vines in his home (believed to be from Rose) that disappeared when he tried to show Fit and Pac. These incidents caused Phil to start doubting what he was seeing and questioning his reality and mind.

Purgatory then happened with Phils wings canonically healing. When he woke up back on the island he revealed the wings for the first time saying that they were damaged again from flying Tubbo to safety.

The Ender King first made contact with Phil similar to how Rose had with a book in his house. This time the Book appeared alongside amethyst crystals and symbols of the End in the aquarium below Phils house. Phil awoke to the bunker being dark and a path of amethyst leading him down to the aquarium where a book was left. The book basically said Phils need to explore and discover was greedy and that only the author of the book could help him on his path to redemption as the author knows the price of greed. Phil becomes scared on seeing and reading everything and it gets worse when neither Chayanne or Tallulah can see anything different even in photos Phil takes of the area. Phil ends up telling them about everything that happened when they were missing and informing Fit of the new book. Like before when he goes to show Fit there is no evidence. He tells Fit that he has some idea of who is trying to contact him and he says the Ender King.

A few streams later he woke up to a lot of flowers and vines in the bunker along with a book in a chest. This book was from Rose instructing him to spend the day with the kids and then go to coordinates (where the birdhouse was). At the end of the day Phil then goes to the coordinates where there is another book and a path of roses that lights up as he follows it. At the end of the path is a sanctuary with a pink sky with roses and lots of birds. (the building material reflects that which Phil uses to build around his spawn in hardcore which is/was Roses home). There is a book in a chest in the middle with a picture of a rose. The book just thanks Phil for trusting her and giving her name as Rose.

Later on after the eye worker lore (dudes from egg island who threaten and fight the islanders over a creature in federations hands – they are responsible later on for Empanada losing her life and seemed to think Phil was the leader of the island) occurs where they first threaten Phil and Chayanne, Rose makes her presence known at spawn and Phil tells Chayanne about her. They then go the sanctuary as Rose promises to protect the kids.

Next time Phil shows Tallulah the sanctuary and at the end after building a nest Phil writes a book asking Rose to protect the kids over him. Things then happen as normal on the island with the family practically moved in to the sanctuary.

The next major lore bit happens on the 10th of January when Phil writes to Rose a brief note about not needing to be all knowing and fighting "him" – Ender King is usually always referred to as “him” rather than by name.

Also as the family had moved to the sanctuary Phil hadn't been back to places like Uppies and the Nest. This became important the next stream when Rose replied to Phil with a book that contained corrupted text and appeared to have been intercepted by the Ender King. Phil then went to the bunker and Uppies and the Nest and found lots of crying obsidian and a book from the Ender king essentially saying Phil can't run forever. Phil leaves a book for Rose asking her to contact the Blaze Empress.

We then get the book from Rose talking about how the Ender kings plans are unknown to her but implying that he wants to use Phil as a vessel and Phil ends stream by telling Chayanne and Tallulah about it. (Note that basically from when the eggs returned they and Phil have had a no secrets policy between them and a heavy emphasis on trust).

That was the last Phil specific lore bit until after the Prison and the reset.

After the reset it starts to become clearer that Phil is getting greedier wanting to take more things from dungeons and shinies (cool looking blocks and items). Phil has also become more reckless – taking risks he never normally would and going out without the kids. A piece of crying obsidian shows up in the pond by their house and he ends up having a talk with Chayanne and Tallulah about destroying any they see and that Phil doesn't think he can keep them safe. (this was interrupted by Pepitos near death and the conversation never truly got finished).

Phil wakes up to find a chest on his front doorstep containing a purple diamond backpack and a book (he thinks from the feds but actually from Ender King). From the moment Phil puts it on he hides his wings (something he hasn't done on purpose in months) and starts talking about stealing things and needing to find more blocks and items. This is all justified as being for the kids but is a clear departure from his normal vocabulary and take what we need only mentality. He also ignores that the kids are awake for a portion of this stream and takes risks he never would, like entering dungeons he had previously avoided or marked as to only do when he returns with more people.

On Mondays stream the possession became undeniable. At the start of the stream Phil briefly gave Fit the backpack early in the vod and zoned out waiting for him to give it back, looking like he was going to snatch it from Fits hand. He then went exploring and weird things occurred (randomly losing the ability to have hunger saturation, having strength and resistance for a long while). Glowing purple lines also appeared on his shoulders and when met back with the kids, Fit, Bagi and Pac he took off the backpack to reveal glowy lines on his back too. Tallulah and Chayanne confront him and Fit has a talk with him. Phil ends up yelling at Tallulah and Chayanne before Tallulahs fear of him seems to snap him out of his possessed state for a bit and he says they need to burn the backpack.

They journey to an island and Phil instructs the kids to burn the backpack but he picks it up before they can yelling in anger. They attempt it again with Phil ending up chasing down Chayanne and calling Tallulah a stupid egg when she stops him (which he had ordered her to do). He then appears to regain control of himself and in a broken voice tells Tallulah to run to Chayane. He walks away from the eggs talking about needing to be stronger and wishing Rose could protect him and them.

The Ender Kings voice is then heard and Phil has an argument with him saying that unlike the Ender King Phil is strong cause he has friends and family. The stream ends with Phil saying goodbye to his eggs (Tallulah is visibly scared of him) and exiling himself til Friday saying that if he comes back still looking or acting corrupted they should tell the adults and not trust him.

I hope this helps catch you up a bit on Phils lore. This has been going on for months and is super subtle at times which means that the Crows (his chat if you didn’t know) aren’t entirely sure when he first started getting corrupted/possessed. Fridays stream is highly anticipated to see how this continues especially as it is also Phils birthday.

Keep stumbling into eye imagery...

Like, back in the day, I watched Blackrock Chronicles and ender eyes were good imagery there.

Then, I listened to Welcome to Nightvale (idk how much I actually listened to), 3rd eye type shit. And some time after, I listened to Penumbra (again only listened to a couple storylines), so robotic eye.

Then, I watched dsmp from Ranboo's pov, which means ender eyes again. Watched as much of Philza's hardcore series 4 as I could before I had to watch it live (I prefer watching live) and yeah Ender King.

Currently watching Philza's Qsmp stuff with Purgatory having a literal eye in the sky and Ender King coming into the lore for Phil.

And I've watched all of Grian's pov of his Life series... Going back in time to watch EVOsmp... Mostly because I don't know anything about the Watchers and Listeners.

I decided to talk about the Warden, because of this post.

Now, before I get into negative stuff I'll talk about positive things.

I love the lore. I love the implied lore of the ancient cities. It is implied that the original residents of the cities knew how to drive the Warden off, or keep him at bay due to the carpeted paths and materials in their chests. It is implied that they could've worshipped him, because of the structure, and that they were a semi-advanced group, due to the ruins of housing structures, baths, and redstone layout beneath the statue of a Warden. This coupled with the new additions of dark oak bridges and towers, much like pillager towers, implies that they either died off or were conquered by the pillagers, who turned the city into their own, but did not know how to deal with the warden. We know that this first group of people, and the pillagers, all died or left due to the skulk, which only grows from death happening near or around it.

That coupled with the music disc, is really good lore and story building. Along with that, I do agree that there should be a mob or mobs and a section of the game that should be harder, because there is nothing really more difficult once you've reached the 'end game' of minecraft, where you have the most powerful items in game and mobs hardly pose a threat to you.

I do not think this answer is whatever the fuck they've made the Warden into. They've made a practically unkillable beast that is harder than the bosses of their games, that can hit you through blocks and if you run away, that is fast, kills you in the best of armor, is summoned by the slightest movement, and is something you can accidentally dig into.

That's not even covering how absolutely absurd it is that it is a warden and protector of nothing. The loot tables, despite being updated multiple times, are not worth it. They are hardly better than end city loot chests, with a boosted chance of god apples, of which you will chug eat while you are down there when you inevitably have to escape a Warden.

The only unique things down here is the quick sneak enchantment, the shards for the compass, and shards for the music disc.

The enchantment is almost exclusively used in the deep dark, as it makes crouching move faster. The compasses have one glaring issue and that is if you die holding the compass, you lose the compass. They are useless in this sense. Also, if you die in the deep dark with the best of your gear, even if you had a compass at home to lead you to your things, once you get there. Pray tell me how you are going to retrieve your things from the deep dark, with not as good gear?

The music disc, like stated before, adds cool lore sure, but unless you are collecting every disc, it is not one you will listen to for music.

Thus far, outside of looking cool, the ancient cities have little to nothing to go explore for.

The claim of the Minecraft Dev team was that they wanted to make things a bit harder late game, and to recreate the feeling of the first night in minecraft. Having tools that take several hits to kill things, the risk of death, etc etc. This is definitely a good thing, but the way they've gone about it is not the answer.

Their target audience is not adults. Their target audience is not adults who play Skyrim or Eldin Ring or who want hard and difficult bosses, let alone mobs. Minecraft is rated 7+.

No 7-10 year old who casually plays this game is going to be able to beat this boss. If people such as Philza, who has year long hardcore series, is saying the Warden will end his series, that knows how to fight and handle mobs, and has difficulty running or staying alive from it, how do you expect kids to do this? Young teens. The target demographic of this game.

So, what did they do? They made the Warden toggleable, like Phantoms. You can turn them off so they don't spawn because they realize they're so difficult. The reason Phantoms can be turned off is for server side reasons as it requires you to do an optional mechanic, sleep, for them to not spawn. The Warden is toggleable due to its difficulty, which I think says something. He shouldn't be this difficult.

People speculate that there is a portal looking structure in the deep dark, which there is! And if they were adding a new dimension that would be cool! And it would make sense then to have something difficult guarding it. However, I don't think this warrants the Warden being just a regular mob that you can potentially summon several at once, that would most certainly kill you. If the Warden was a boss maybe, sure! But something you could have to fight 2-3+ of just because you make noise as you run away is insane. If it was a boss that would be cool!

This feels like players who aren't as dexterous, that are young, etc, have little to no chance of doing this fairly or right, even if there was a reason to go down there, as the portal and new dimension is pure speculation and we've heard nothing about this beyond theories.

I think the easiest solutions to this problem would've been making the Warden less hard. Still difficult, but not insta kill, almost insta summon, and make it worth killing. Or, change him into a boss, make there only one of them per city.

Hell, I think it would be cool if you took concept art that Mojang had pre-Warden, of mobs that could walk the deep dark.

These were before the idea of the Warden were finalized, but they absolutely could have been turned into other, lesser mobs. Mobs that were harder than zombies and skeletons maybe, but not boss level. Things that would do what they intended, make something a lil more difficult late game. These creatures could've roamed the ancient city and maybe if you alerted enough of them, they would alert the Warden.

These are all fixes that, in my opinion, would've made this all better. But we're stuck with this creature and this area that is no good for anything but looks, that was supposed to be apart of the last two updates, but was pushed back. I understand pushing things back, but they absolutely focused on the Warden during the Wild Update for 1.19, which I 100% believed caused them to decide to scrap their other plans either temporarily or permanently, and are going to make this next update absolutely lack luster.

I'm not the only one who shares this opinion, and I think it is so upsetting that all these wanted and good additions to the game were scrapped in leu of a thing that doesnt match of fit this update, was supposed to be done last update, but is so difficult to deal with that they had to add a toggle option, when there were so many frankly easier and better solutions.

I kinda have a different outlook on likes and reblogs on my art than other artists I know, I guess?

I came from pretty much nothing on tumblr. I started out making oc art without any followers, and as you can imagine, that meant no notes, regardless of the quality of my art. It was really cool to get any notes. I was popping off if I somehow got 10 notes. I once spent a week drawing an intricate stained glass window and received 2 notes for it, both from dear long-time mutuals. Because of this, my mentality quickly adapted to divorce my sense of satisfaction with my art from the attention my art received. Even so, every single like I sparsely received was precious to me. I only ever saw reblogs when my personal art catered to the tastes or ocs of other blogs, such as with my tree stump painting or my dnd character Janus.

When I started interacting with fandoms, I immediately saw more notes there than all my other posts combined. And yet they were all totally different amounts, depending on the fandoms. The hyper light drifter fandom was small and had a huge skill gap between the high-note posts of experienced artists and the lower notes of less experienced ones. Falling into the latter category, my posts there could range from 50–100 notes. The Pokemon and Kirby fandoms are massive, but so massive sand oversaturated that you needed a strong following to garner any attention. There, I could get about thirty to fifty notes, or up to 200 on days with big fandom news. In the dream smp fandom, community was tight and participants are many, so my art could climb to numbers I'd never even seen before, breaking 1000 and climbing higher. It was stunning, but I'd already leaned by then that the numbers I accumulated had pretty much nothing to do with the quality of or my personal satisfaction with my art. It was just that all fandom communities had different sizes and different like/reblog ratios. To me, this was natural and expected. It was just how things were.

I could post a dream smp art post of quality I wasn't proud of and get 700+ notes. I could post a Philza hardcore lore art post of my very best quality that I spent days working on and get around 250 notes (I'm referring to my blaze empress design lol). I could post oc art that was literally the best thing I'd ever drawn and get 30 notes. Numbers and ratios ceased to matter to me because they were reflective of the size and interest of the community, and not my own skill. I learned to value every single show of appreciation for my art, big or small, but not to need them.

And all of this to say that....

...I do not need you to reblog my art unless it is something you like enough to want on your own blog. I want you to be genuine. I do not want you to reblog something of mine out of guilt or obligation. I do not want you to feel guilty for only liking something I draw and not reblogging it. I do not care about the reach of my posts. I do not care about the ratios on my posts. I value every like on my posts and I value every reblog on my posts and I value every comment on my posts (except for the soup-haters, who're on THIN ICE). I consider all of these to be signs of appreciation from followers/viewers, and so I appreciate them back!!

I do not want you to feel any sort of guilt on my blog. I hate obligation with a passion LOL, so I don't want you to feel any here. If you reblog, rad! If you don't, I totally get it! Maybe you appreciate the art but don't share the interest, or it's not a character you enjoy as much, or maybe even it didn't reach a quality threshold for the stuff you want on your blog. I'm cool with all of it, dudes!

I'm going to sound like an ass but I'm so happy c!Tommy died, like I ate some leftover chicken in celebration. With Tommy dead, people will be forced to see that the smp doesn't revolves around him, that he's just a character like everyone else and that without him the story still continues.

I hope that cc!Tommy takes a breaks for a while, or at the very least if he's going to do ghostinnit pulls a Wilbur and appear only on other people's streams. It would make the people who only watch Tommy's pov have to watch different people for lore, it might get the fandom to stop treating Tommy like he's the main character, which would be great cause there are no main characters just preferred perspectives.

Also he ruined the little progress Dream had made (I was so excited for that goddamnit) and killed a cat, mean little shit. Also it might wake up people to the fact that Tommy did cause a lot of conflict, but I sadly doubt it.

The only bad I see from this is the fandom;

1. glossing over the cat and just how fucked up that was of Tommy. Trauma or the cycle of abuse are not even close to exsuces, he fucken keep hitting it then killed it just be a dick. Hold him fully accountable and don't downplay this, this was straight up evil of him, arguably he worse thing he has done as of yet.

2. The new wave of Philza stuff with people talking about how much he's going to regret not fathering Tommy dispite him not being his son

3. Even more Technoblade hate that's somehow worse because of his favor he owes to Dream. Like I just saw a post on how Philza should be killed in front of him then excused by "peer pressure" (Techno was surrounded and had no support, stalled for as long as possible, it's not like he wanted to so it) so he'd "understand" pain and loss, blocked them on sight, but still holy shit.

n i was SO GLAD for that. him buildin a hotel w sam and being hunted down by niki and jack and poking at the egg a bit n all that wasnt like. he wasnt the Pivotal point in those as much. considering he’d had a Huge impact in other ppls stories he couldnt jus Disappear. 

i did NOT understand why him being locked in prison was like. a thing. i didnt get it narratively. like idk what to have expected i thought itd jus be like. more downtime for tommy then Bam angst angst big lore oh no INTENSE. 

him dying is like. especially at dream’s hand. i feel its a double edged sword. like you say i REALLY HOPE itll mean things wont circle around him. more notice and attention can be given to the egg arc. and ESPECIALLY w how jack has been going on w today’s events like holyfuck man’s really goin OFF. tommy dying was narratively the best outcome him like jack manifold stans r losin their minds on my dash today

but ALSO. the reactions instilled within the fandom have really shown a like. exactly what i figured. like him Dying is now gonna cloud so many other characters n perceptions a those characters. we see it w phil n techno like mans wasnt even on dsmp he was on his hardcore world n had ppl all in his chat bout how his ‘son’ is dead lkshglsdhg

and this weird. like. i dont know if martyrdom is the right term for it? but like i LITERALLY hadnt seen Any mentions of tommy killing the cat. and that is Very fucked up. like IF tommy hadnt done that then to me it seemed dream had killed tommy Suddenly with no reasoning. and as fucked as it was to kill tommy, WITH the context of him killing dream’s cat like.... it makes so much more sense. like still fucked he died, but in this sense his death was direct and instant retribution for his own actions.

like. as we seen everywhere too. they probably gon revive him in some way sometime. n considering how Talked Up that is its seems itll be regarded as the ‘main plot’ or some shit. largely overshadow other things. i want tommy to Not be revived. if he comes back like ghostbur, cool. mans chillin. but he should be dead for at Least a bit for the smoke to settle n so other ppl and plots can Work their way Out.

:OOOO I absolutely love the name hard-core anon :DD that name makes me sound way cooler than what I actually am but I'm taking it and running sjsjeje and I'm the exact same! I get way to much into world building and minecraft is beyond amazing for it as you can basically create anything from solo journeys to entire civilizations! One of my favorite head canons though is that only hard-core players are able to have wings besides elytras, just cause I love the idea of secret wings, because in order to achieve wings you have to survive the end singlehandedly. Another really fun to imagine is that hard-core players are effectively immortal and collect actual players like a little team of bodyguards sjsjsks but ty for the name :DDD and you can make a tag if you wanna!! Im very very new but you seem really cool :]]

hardcore anon it is then!!! i don’t know you very well but to me you seem very cool to me so. and yes you totally get it, i think it’s mostly the simplicity of minecraft that makes it so easy to world build around it and the fact that it doesn’t have a concrete lore to it. but oooo i love that idea! like the idea that only hardcore players can have like different types of wings and have the ability of flight if i understand correctly while regular survival just have elytra so they can only glide instead of fly. you could cause so much hurt to characters if they don’t slowly grow the wings after beating the dragon but instead the like burst through their back instead. or it reminds me of some philza art i saw awhile ago that i think i reblogged, i’ll reblog it again if i can find it, but the idea was that phil’s wings were like tattoos on his back that he could like summon as wings which i think would be a super cool concept with your headcanon. i like your other little headcanon too, like the idea that maybe because hardcore players only have one life that they can effectively live forever if they don’t loss their one life and the idea that they just all either collect friends or better collect children like philza is lovely. like this idea of a little found family forming where they all protect the hardcore player since they only have one life, it think it would make for some great shenanigans kinda like with techno and phil where techno yells for phil to watch out whenever he spots a baby zombie. and you’re welcome for the name :D i’ll make you a tag and if you wanna tag your asks with hardcore anon that would be pog so i know who you are 👉👈 and it’s cool you’re new welcome aboard :D and ty you seem very cool as well!!!

Hey Isa!! So I haven’t really been following the QSMP, I’ll admit, but I heard about the recent angst of the “Cage for a cage” situation, and I’m very intrigued! What are Philza and Wilbur’s stories in the QSMP? I’d love to know more! Also where could I find all their footage to catch up?

Well Wilbur's sorta yeeted into the void bc of Lovejoy things, so there's not much to talk about on his front. He has his egg daughter Talullah, who Phil is looking after and has adopted as his own at this point bc its been months, and that's kinda it as far as major keypoints go for Wilbur lore. That and he canonized (or tried to?) him/Phil father/son dynamics again. Haven't heard much from the community if we accepted that as canon or as a Wilbur Bit Because Of Course He Tried To Canonize That Again.

Phil lore on the other hand. OUGH. I don't know where to start, it feels like so little and so much at the same time. Which is funny bc this motherfucker is so allergic to lore despite being a bomb ass rper (I have 11+ years experience rping, this man is rp veteran approved). I get timezones exist and whatnot & he's usually 3-4 hours into a stream already by the time he gets on QSMP to begin with, but he dodged so much of The Horrors for so long. This week has been an outlier and the crows are suffering thriving.

As far as his lore (in a simplified tldr) goes: Ancient bird man wired for nothing but survival gets plopped on a weird island with other English speakers & Spanish speakers. Shit Is Weird And Continues To Be, but all the islanders make friends with eacg other. They're *emotionally slams fist on table* levels of tightknit. Phil especially is always so ready to help anyone out. Timeskip a month or so, Island Federation decides to play matchmaker and then make said matches parents. They're given a dragon's eggs because Dragon Gone ??? Phil acquires egg kid and raises them to be a careful & loving powerhouse like himself (& then later gets second egg kid who's meant to be Wilbur's) only for the island he's stuck on to throw every wrench at him they can in the form of mobs, federation people, trivial ass tasks given by said feds, and more. The longer things go on the worse they get, and ancient man's biggest weakness is his two kids who keep getting used against him. But ancient bird man is an anarchist, this federation can pound sand. Federation doesn't like that! Ancient bird man get punished. (And that's skipping chunks of things, but I have the memory of a peanut so I'll leave better summaries to someone better equipped.) Also when he's not experiencing the horrors he has at least 4 other men thirsting for him at any given time and he donowalls their advances beautifully while also playing into their flirting and thirsting at the same time because he has No /R Thoughts, Only Goddess Wife and egg children. Goddess wife also encourages his unintentional yaoi-ing.

I DO know you can catch up on QSMP lore via the official recap channel "QSMP Info" on YouTube! There's two videos out so far so the recaps aren't caught up to date yet, but they're made by the admins of the server, so they're thorough and accurate.

There's also a Phil VODs channel that's run by one of the most devoted PEGS (Philza Early Gang Society, Phil's offline chatters <3) in the crow community. I'm sure they have every single QSMP vod uploaded (but strap in, Phil's not a 1-3 hour stream andy, he's a 5-8 hour stream chad). Most times, he does Hardcore first then QSMP later (though I think a few times while playing TOTK he'd get on later too so ??? Good luck?) so realistically despite being a 5-8 hour stream chad, there's only 2-4 hours of QSMP in the vod, you just gotta skim through the last half of the vod. For reference, you'll want to search for vods from March 22nd, 2023 to now. That's how long QSMP has been going. It'd be laborious to fish out every crumb of QSMP stream time but I do genuinely think it's worth it just to see how things on the island develop and why so many people are screaming about The Horrors every day.

I'm sure you could also scrape around YouTube for like. Fanmade recaps, perhaps even Phil-centric ones, though I'd be wary of ones that have character analysis rather than just the plain ol stream content a) because they won't have every bit of footage & b) Sometimes People Are Wrong About Characters. You could also dig for clips of major moments (Phil has some on his Phil Clips YT but they're mostly funny) but that'd probably not give you the whole picture if you wanna be slamming your fists on the table and screaming like a monkey with the rest of us LOL.

There's also plenty of livebloggers who scream as streams progress, so check out some tags maybe. The main one is probably #qsmp liveblogging but that'll be any & all member POVs so it's not the most helpful resource but an idea nonetheless. You'd probably be better off looking through #qsmp philza or #q!philza or something, you'd just have to sift through creative works, memes & shitposts too.
