I've watched that scene in Alone a couple of times where Beth asks what changed your mind and Daryl is all evasive and although I'm a Caryl shipper I can't understand how else this is intended but romantic (and yes I know she's only a teenager but I can't interpret any other way!!) What else could it have meant?

It’s ambiguous, but I personally see a reluctant mentor in Daryl throughout their arc leading up to this moment where he can admit good people do stand a chance in this world after all. Because here Beth is, encountering all these horrors with him, but pulling through while still holding onto her humanity. She’s giving him a renewed sense of hope that was shattered when Sophia walked out of that barn.
