if you don't mind asking, the people (me) would like to know if you can share the tiktoker that inspired you to make the new rendering style because is so so pretty or if you can't find them if you can give tips on how to render like that, no pressure for neither but I am really loving how it looks literally chewed on both the baxter and cove art fdgfdg
I actually have the tiktok saved just for a frame of ref on how the messy render style would look LMFAO, heres the tiktok that inspired this whole color style and im pretty sure they also make a tutorial on how they do that specific render style
But! I have my own spin on it so heres some tips on helping understanding and achieving this way to render
So for starters i only use the charcoal brush for the entire thing but u can use any texture brush of ur choosing
i treat this coloring style how i treat color pencils or color pastels in real life
Meaning i start sketching with like a more lighter color
Its preferable to like usually sketch with either purple, pinks or reds but i usually sketch with how the vibes are feeling rn or what kinda color i associate the chr with LOL
The after that i just proceed with flats and heres the fun part
With how i shade in general i very much rely on my color wheel
Basically when adjusting colors like lets say i wanna shade i adjust the color wheel to the left and adjust the colors saturation but thats depending on how dark you want your shadows to be, if you want them to be darker just keep adjusting a bit more to the left of ur color wheel and lower the saturation more but not TOO much
Same also kinda applies to adding highlights and the only fee changes is adjusting the color wheel to the right
So rinse and repeat and u get these colors for the base skin
Note that these is just a pallete guide on how to pick colors to shade and highlight the skin but for me usually i keep adjusting the colors anyways to like find a way to blend
Remeber kids! Eye dropper tool is your best friend if you wanna blend colors together
When all goes well the face will look like this
Few notes is that you dont want to get rid of the sketch outline even when overlaying when shading and rendering
It also adds more color and life to it if that makes any sense
Another thing about shading is that you can do hatching and shit, be free of ur strokes! It maintains the sketchy feel of the piece
One last thing to note as well is where the light and shadows could be coming from when rendering
I also need an excuse to share a lesson i had with my professor on my art college LOL
Bringing out the artist ball but these are the 4 main things you need to note
A reflective light can be made by just putting ur color wheel to the opposite side of your color wheel LOL
Understanding this could go a long way trust me
Then after that youre basically done! Again just rinse and repeat with how you pick your colors and you should be good
If you wanna better understand how to color properly theres this one video that helped me out alot with understanding how to pick colors
Anywahs to wrap this up cause im running out of brain power to explain LOL be very loose with this style, its very sketchy but it adds flare to it if that makes sense
Hopefully i was able to help explain how i do it in some way!
And if not well you can just watch the tiktok tutorial on how to do this HAHAHAHA

hi uh-
You seem to know how to render so I was wondering if you could possibly give me tips? :'>
Love your art btw it is 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
Aaa thank you! Rendering is not something i consider myself particularly good at and i'm still trying to learn, but here's some things i picked up!
Shapes! Edges! Have a balance between smooth, nicely blended areas and really sharp and shaped areas
So imagine you're doing lineart or a sketch. Places where you would put lines (eg. cheekbones, wrinkles etc) are really good places to have some sharp edges. I like to make things smoother and more blended in places where there's more skin.
Undertones!! I color the entire thing in one color (i looove working with green and blue here, but i also play around with different colors as well) and then i build on from that.
DON'T ZOOM IN TOO MUCH. Focus on the big picture. Zoom out and see if the shapes are visible, if your picture is recognizable and doesn't look muddy. It's nice to have distinct light and shadows.
Block things out first and then do details later on. But you don't have to dwell on them too much, it's up to preference really! I usually find that my art looks really weird if i render too many details
Use references, see how light, shadows and colors interact! References are great i love them 10/10 no notes.
If you're rendering a face, know about the planes of the face. This will really help you out, also ties really nicely with the edges and shapes thing. Another thing i love to do is feel it out myself. I just drag my fingers across my face and try to understand how it works, where the bones are, how the skin "wraps" etc!
Don't use too many brushes, it will just look messy and cluttered and out of place.
These are the ones i can think of rn. Most of these are up to preference really and won't apply to every situation or drawing. But yeah! Just experiment, really! Try new things! Have fun with it as well :D

I drew a little todomomo sketch yesterday. I want to go a bit into detail about the thought behind the piece. A few years ago, I discovered the artist @raikiriart here on tumblr. I loved absolutely every piece they did for bnha, but especially the one where they drew a Peter Pan AU for Bakugo and Ochako. I find everything about that piece delectable (Cant find better word rn sry, brain is tired). Ochako as a fairy, Katsuki in the fantasy outfit, the enchanted forest they're in. The mushroom Ochako sists on. The lantern next to her. The tall grass around them. The quiet tranquil serenity of that piece. It feels like they're in a world of their own entirely. I don't know what it did, but it changed something about the chemical makeup of my brain. It's to this day one of my favorite pieces of fanart ever. From the moment that I had first seen it, I wanted to draw something similar, which would capture the essence I saw in the piece by them. I came up with a similar setting for Todomomo. Where they are also fairy and human, and it includes mushrooms etc. and I was very motivated to draw it, but the truth is, I was just so bad at art at the time that I never managed to go past a very bad sketching phase, which caused me to completely lose motivation for the piece unfortunately.
I came upon the old sketch by chance two days ago and I decided to try it again, cause why not? It's not like I had anything to lose. And I am just so pleased with what I have so far drawn. That I have gotten better at art and am confident enough to know that I will continue working on it. It's far from being finished, as it still needs to be rendered and all, but I'm just so happy that I don't feel like giving up on it like I did the first time.
Since I had the idea for this, I have kind of moved on from the todomomo ship, but I'm still having a lot of fun drawing them now. I can't wait to continue this soon.

Hello!
I’m curious- how long does it take to draw a sketch versus a rendered drawing?
I really love your art! It always amazes me with how detailed it turns out to be.
I hope you have a great week!
it really, really depends
a doodle like the ones i often do for the asks can take up from literally 5 min to i'd say 30 min? depends if i want to shade it in any way tbh
as for full rendered pieces - hours, usually days i can do one in one day (hard to call it a day when i start at like 12pm end up 4am but ykwim) but it can also take like 3 or 5 depending on how many breaks i take
honestly comes down to how many characters and the environment cuz the thing that takes up the most time, i'd say is coloring and shading i can sketch up pretty quickly and i don't go for super clean, smooth line art anyway i like the messy, free style (also saves a lot of time) so filling in the colors takes a bit and i honestly don't enjoy it all that much (that's why most doodles r just shaded and not colored)
and then it just comes down to what the bg is and how it affects the char cuz then it's just shading both to fit in, to look natural and blend tgt nicely (or not at all cuz i like funky, neon and eyestrain lol)
2 pieces i can think of rn that took me the longest (that i still consider fresh enough to take up for consideration) r the SAMS anniversary art and first piece for my Calamari Lunar i did both took me like a week from what i can remember
the former bc of the amount of characters on it, each one had to be done fully and separately so it just took a bit the latter cuz it's a really detailed, lineless, heavily shaded (also cuz it was me designing a char, so it always takes a bit back and forth until it just feels right)
i'd love to give u actual numbers, but i don't keep track of it that much and my program doesn't say it either (at least idk abt it) so i'm just going off of my memory, how long i feel like it took and mayhaps looking at dates of when i send a friend a sketch, when i first started talking abt it, the file info vs the posting date but usually idc enough to do so, and often it just simply isn't possible
TL;DR a doodle can take like 5-30 min and rendered shit a few days most often cuz i'm slow af; it all comes down to what the piece is
also tysm! so glad u enjoy my little hellhole wonderland of mental instability and mostly just thirst traps! :D
yall have no idea how actually happy it makes me when ppl notice small details i put into my work there's just smth in my brain that says it needs to have so many lil details and things and be so well done even if it's gonna get blurred out, shaded til binary and covered by 8 diff layers of shit
das the talk.
#lol sorry#just learn atp that if u ask me smth personal i will go on a whole essay abt it lmao#shout out to all the ppl that actually read those things i love u sm#if there r mistakes or just spitting nonsense i am tired and in pain#Hashtag excuses#ask#long ramble

10 and 16 for the artist asks?
Thank you so much for the asks :D
10. What's that one thing that inspired you to make drawing your consistant hobby?
I don't think I can name a single thing because it's just many influences together that made drawing my hobby but the most important reason for me was beeing able to visualise stuff I wanted to see. I've always been kinda obsessed with cartoons and such so I liked to draw things I wanted to happen that didn't actually happen there sdfghad
Another thing is that drawing helps to connect to people and can be somewhat of a lovelanguage too imo. I used to draw my elementary school friends as magical girls for example or we made up stories of our favorite Pokémon going on adventures together which I wanted to draw out 😂 so in a way it also helps to explore stuff one can't experience in rl. I like how sharing drawing ideas alone helps to get to know a person at a different level if that makes sense?
16. What's the most daunting part of your process? Ex, planning, sketching, lineart, rendering etc
Definitely lineart! Also the frustrating feeling when one has different ideas and starts with one but isn't quite sure if the other ideas wouldn't be more fun to draw rn. So one just switches from canvas to canvas.

" time and again, boys race to be men. impatient they start, fearful they end. but, here was a man mourning tomorrow. he drank, but finally drowned in his sorrow. oh, he could not break surface tension. he looked in the wrong place for redemption. don't look at me with those eyes. I tried to anaesthetize, turn back the time that drew him. but he couldn't be saved. a sadness run through him. "
a sadness runs through him by the hoosiers
finished that otto artwork !! it's not very rendered as it's meant to be very sketched up and rough, but I hope y'all like it !! tried to make sure hues were mostly purple, red, yellow, blue, and white.
this was based from the chapter 5 episode but works as an overall character artwork !! and oh yea', this was referenced off of some photos I took to try and get the feel for the hands and the fear in his eyes specifically <3 so, just hope y'all dig it !! now time to make an otto playlist because all these hoosiers songs really vibing with him and noone rn

ah okok i have no idea how to ask this so i’m really sorry it’s disorganized…may i ask how u start commissions? or any tips on how to start commissions? i’m thinking of starting them soon but…i have no idea how :’)
The first time is always a little scary/confusing so I get it ;A; ;;;;; I've been doing commissions for 2 years now but I still feel as though I'm still a beginner and unprofessional ;;;;;;;;
The first step is of course to determine what sorts of drawings will you sell and your price sheet (I spent a lot of time on this step, don't worry) for reference I looked up commission price sheets from other artists like what's the average amount they charge for a full rendered drawing? And for a sketch? There are many options as well to consider when it comes to the drawing process, like sketch only, sketch with color, line only, line with flat colors, line with full rendered colors etc... Tbh I'd recommend not presenting too many options since it can get confusing/overwhelming quickly not only for you but for your future clients as well, like whenever people see a commission sheet that's too cluttered with options and prices they tend to get indecisive and overwhelmed and that might drive them off from commissioning you 😅
So one way to attract people to commission you is to make an easy to understand and clean commission sheet price! Make sure to add examples of the kind of drawings that you can do and make the prices legible!!!
Many people organize their sheets with the bust/half-body/full body (rendered and sketched) thing and it works pretty well so I'd start there! I started with this scheme and there's no complaints from me, it's easy to remember and there's also a high demand for these!
Now to determine the prices is one of the hardest things since it varies incredibly from artist to artist 💦Because obviously you should not make your prices way too low and devalue your own work, but also a lot of young commissioners make the mistake of overpricing their works when they only just recently begun making art or/and still need a lot of (years worth of) practice💦
I'd say if you're still not so confident about your own art and you have the conscience that you need yet to improve, you can start with low prices as a test and then gradually raise the prices as you get used to it and already have a decent clientele. However if you're somewhat confident and already have a decent amount of followers, you can ask your followers/friends for suggestions and their opinions, such as ''if you were to buy a full body commission from me how much are you willing to pay it'' ...Obviously you shouldn't just blindly do as people tell you since there's unfortunately some people that will try to take advantage of this, and although it's important to hear suggestions only you can determine what your prices will be!
And finally and most important ALWAYS ASK FOR UP-FRONT PAYMENT, if someone is like ''I don't have the money rn, can I deposit the payment later 🥺'' don't agree to it, don't make the same mistake that I did once :')))) unless the person is a highly trusted friend/mutual, start the art only after you receive the payment so there won't be any risks 💦💦
sdjkfkdjsfjdks this got a bit too long but I hope I was of any help !!!

4,12 and 21 for the artist ask game?
4. piece you wish got more love?
I don't knowwww
I came from instagram and twitter so I feel mostly just overwhelmed with love!! Dreblr is amazing <33
I think I might say this one tho. I don't really like it wish is why I never posted it as it's own thing, but I still spent a lot of time working on it
12. describe your process while drawing
No clue. It changes every time. But overall I think i spend the most time on doing sketch and lineart. After that I render... in some way? I have used gradient maps, cell shading with multiply and overlay layers, rn I usually paint on one single layer that I just dublicate a bush of time in case I do something awfull. Sooo it changes, a lot.
21. what do you think your artstyle would taste like?
sour candy👍

Emergency Car Trouble Commissions
Hey there! So… if you follow me, you might've noticed I mentioned my car being worked on. Well… it's gonna require some repairs, and they ain't cheap. As in, they're gonna cost close to $1000. I don't have a source of public transportation where I live, and I'm not within walking distance of anything.
I'm in… okay shape financially, but not great, and I can't afford to dump a huge sum of money into my car without a little back up.
I really hate asking for help, and I feel really uncomfortable, but… I also wanna be honest and transparent. Any help or support is appreciated, even if it's just some encouragement.
I've got a ko-fi page if commissions aren't your thing, or you're feeling really generous and wanna just donate instead. All funds will go into fixing my car rn. More details below the cut-off. This post is image-heavy!
All commissions are digital, created in Clip Studio Paint Pro.
Payment is accepted via PayPal in USD. I will need a working email to send an invoice to.
You may DM me here. If you have my Discord, you may also contact me there. Otherwise, send enquiries to [email protected]
I will get back to you as soon as I am able. Please allow up to 48 hours for me to respond. <3
Commissions generally have a turn-around of 1-2 weeks for sketches, but are handled on a case-by-case basis. More details are available on my Commission Sheet. If you have any questions or are confused by anything, please feel free to reach out to me.
Cost may be more if a character is more complex, or background is more complex / detailed. I reserve the right to deny a commission for any reason.
You will receive a preview sketch before the commission is finalized.
If you've seen something in my deviantART gallery, or on one of my other socials, and it's not listed here, feel free to ask me what cost would like for that item or style! I'm happy to work with you. <3
Commission Sheet:
Commission Examples
Fullbody sketch (featuring Daemo!) ($20)
Fullbody sketch, 2 characters ($30)
Fullbody, flats, minimal BG ($50)
Fullbody, flats, sketch background with minimal light or painting ($65–$80 depending on complexity and type of background)
Fullbody, rendered, minimal background ($65–$80)
Character vignette; 2 characters, rendered and lighted. ($120)
Half-body character portrait. Rendered and lighted. ($50)
