New Computer? Who's this?

So I guess since I have a new computer (strictly for FFXIV (the fact that the expansion pack cuts off access for Intel MACs), but also Mac Intels are at the end of their product life span) I I have load in my sims as well.

Custom-content wise, I've downloaded everything from @felixandresims and @harrie-cc I can get my hands on (grrr...early access) and I have to make a visit to @pierisim, @baufive, @peacemaker-ic, and @aroundthesims otherwise starting over.

I miss decorating, but I always get kinda misty when my Second Life friends talk about the Sims or the now-canceled Life By You. I literally have no time, between trying to get back into rugby, starting a new job, playing FFXIV, and thinking about picking up a consulting gig with an old internship, I am plenty busy, but sometimes when you need to scratch an itch and Second Life never being the super affordable place it is, decorating doesn't come cheap at all. But also it will be nice to have a SSD and M2 for the sims even if it is a mess of bubblegum, spit, and duct tape under the hood.

I will not be returning to creating anytime soon as it is too much of an ask already just for my Second Life jewelry "business" and frankly I have more important things to do, and the Sims is about ease and joy, which is making sims in CAS and building/decorating. I'll post interiors and CAS (maybe an edit or too if I am really in the mood).

Sometimes I feel like there are people in my life, people from my past, who follow me on our different assorted social medias just to peer into my life and point and laugh. That idea used to terrify me, cripple me. Being the butt of someone’s joke felt like the worst form of torture.  But I wrote myself a note last month. “Maybe I’m pathetic, but so are they.” If it’s really true, if anyone is actually still hanging on just so they can make fun of me to their friends behind my back, then fine. I honestly think that says more about them than it does about me. And I’ve been working really hard at giving less fucks lately. My skin’s been clearing up these past few months. I think that means it’s working.  This website, this blog … they used to feel like my last safe place. A magical escape. Until they weren’t. Until the features that used to be fun and exciting turned into tools for my worst abusers to taunt and torment me. I tried to stay strong for years. But I eventually left. I grew up a little. Realized it just wasn’t worth it anymore. But I’ve missed it, I won’t lie. And lately I’ve been feeling like maybe I could come back. I don’t know in what capacity yet. I looked through my following list and barely recognized half. But maybe I could rebuild. Maybe this could be a soft place for me to land again. I’m older, I’m wiser, I’ve put in a lot of work. And I know how to protect myself now. And I think, most importantly, I’m not afraid to leave again if I have to. I already did what I had considered the scariest thing once before, so I’m not afraid to do it again.
