in my playthrough Carver and Anders fully did not interact at all after Anders' recruitment quest so it's very possible that Carver just. would not have the context to connect Anders to the underground. and for safety/information compartmentalization reasons, i'm sure Anders wouldn't ask for the identities of every templar helping them. they definitely have no idea the other is involved
I haven’t finished this playthrough so I don’t know all the details of Carver’s Templar arc but. it’d be neat if he was involved in the mage underground. one of those anonymous templar contacts who pass along information and quietly help mages to freedom. he was named after the Templar who helped free his dad, after all; it’d be a neat little way to tie it full circle
#if you choose mages at the end does carver fight with you? or does he stay with the templars?#don't answer this i wanna fidn out myself but like#in my heart carver fights for mages. he already betrayed his brother once by joining the templars#is he really gonna do it again#maybe i don't have a full read on his character. idk#focusing a lot on carver in act 1 makes it clear that his motivations are less anti-mage#and more anti-his-family-specifically-being-taken-by-templars#and in his mind the best way to do that is to make friendly with them. do what they want. don't rock the boat#which. in my mind it makes sense then that in the end if hawke chooses to fight for mages#so will carver. it's down to a fight anyway. there's no 'making nice with templars' at this point#i'd like to think that even after all this time his loyalty lies more with his brother than his brothers-in-arms#but what do i know. when has bioware writing ever been consistent or nuanced#if i have to fight carver in act 3 i will cry actually
