Note
So I’m staying on anon bc I’m taking a hiatus for now but I just had to say something about the whole situation you posted about
My ‘friend’ is exactly the same and I just don’t understand the reason. Like, you think I’m a certain way because I play a game? That’s like me judging you and saying judgemental things about how you don’t have a life because you play something I don’t like, it’s ridiculous.
I don’t get this whole ‘only p**os’ play the game - yes, there are some really weird fuckers who sexualise the children and the majority of the fan base doesn’t agree with it and also don’t condone it.
Like are people just hating Genshin because it’s popular? It’s got some serious in game issues, it’s not perfect, but most people just don’t have a reason
‘it’s an anime game’ okay, and? It’s not to your taste, so what? doesn’t mean it’s better or worse than another game.
‘it’s gacha’ so is every game that’s popular right now, especially fps - like don’t tell me otherwise when you’re opening loot boxes which is essentially the same thing as pulling for characters.
My ‘friend’ got so offended when I said Genshin was a game I could see him playing - because he likes chill games and personally Genshin can be quite relaxing, especially when you’re exploring for the first time !! And he likes grindy games and hey, Genshin is pretty grindy to make a good character build, but he just says these half assed insults similar to the one that guy you mentioned instead of actually giving it a chance.
I’m not a man hater or anything but some guys are just brainless. They think their opinion is superior and if you don’t agree, your opinion is ‘mid’ or a ‘bad take’ like we don’t always have to agree, just respect the things I like and I’ll respect your interests.
It really is not that hard
- bunny 🐰 ( hi hollyleaf I hope you’re having a nice day apart from this <33 )
sorry you had to experience something similar but at the same time, why judge someone by what they play or just because you don’t agree with that choice
as you said, genshin has some actual issues you could talk about but most people who want to hate on the game don’t even look that far but pick the few weirdos (whose voices are always the loudest somehow) and use them as low-hanging fruit to drag the game and its player base
also the term ‘anime’ is so broad; at the end of the day league (because the guy recommended that) is also an animated game+ the artworks/ designs of the characters aren’t that much more realistic (someone pointed out the proportions on especially the female characters and i don’t think i need to say much about that)
most loot box systems only give you cosmetics too, he even admitted he only gets skins and new champions, which is the same as genshin more or less, so why hate on gacha when it’s basically the same mechanics just under a term you don use?
honestly, i can see why you recommended it, i probably would’ve done the same (i have, in fact, recommended the game to someone before); pretty rude of this guy to insult your interest like this though, i hope you didn’t take it seriously
ugh, not the fucking ‘mid’ response, please get out of here and let people enjoy things, jesus fucking christ; you don’t have to justify yourself with me, i know you’re not a ‘man hater’ because i use common sense to deduce that these statements don’t directly translate to ‘all men’; as i like to say it’s not all and not only men, women can be accused of this too, for both of us it just happened to be a guy and that’s all there is to it
and you’re right, it’s not that hard
(i’m doing good and i was hardly bothered by it, i just wanted to share with the class; anyway, i hope you’re doing well yourself <3)

no cuz the 4star card of haruka from an angel spreads its wings gacha literally pisses me off so much. in terms of design it is absolutely the worst card in the game like what were they thinking 😭 i would take a good 3star card over this one any day.
Tumblr media
like as just a piece of art it’s not bad. the render is good, it’s cute, pretty, whatever. but it’s not just an independent art piece, it is specifically a card in a video game. like you have to think about its function and that should affect the design. there are so many things wrong with this card. like
1. it’s non-specific. if you weren’t told which character this card belongs to there is literally no way to tell if this is a haruka, minori, airi, or shizuku card. every character is equidistant from each other with the exact same size in the exact same lighting and very similar poses. in fact, the only one who slightly stands out from the group is minori because she’s facing a different direction. even the stray feathers in the sky are making an arc towards minori (one literally looks like an arrow pointing at her), further emphasizing her in the piece. but this isn’t minori’s card, it’s haruka’s.
2. it’s dark as hell. don’t get me wrong, my favorite part of any good card is unique/strong lighting, but this isn’t that. this is haruka almost completely encased in shadow, making it super hard to even make out her features. it just looks like a silhouette, which is not what you want in a character card.
3. it’s blurry as hell. as a whole piece, the small size of the characters is fine, because the emphasis is on the environment. but you never see cards in project sekai as whole pieces except when specifically viewing them in the card’s profile. you only see zoomed in close-ups of the character whenever actually using the card/playing the game. because haruka is so small, her card appears extremely blurry when in use. it’s not QUITE as bad as the 4star cherry blossom miku card…but it’s bad. like, just look at her card next to other better-designed cards:
Tumblr media
it seriously sticks out like a sore thumb in any team. this image is an example of the final issue:
4. it’s undetailed. haruka appears smaller than the others because it’s not quite as zoomed in, probably to minimize the already high level of blurriness. and because she was drawn so small on the canvas, her features, outfit, hair, etc have all been simplified. simplicity by itself is not a bad thing, but it does not at all fit with the detailed style of most other cards in the game. also, because her pose is plain and there is nothing but a blank sky behind her when zoomed in, that just adds to the effect of being way less detailed/complete than other cards. at least the offending miku one has some trees behind her. other cards with one-color backgrounds, like ichika’s paint-themed colorfes one, make up for it with interesting poses and more detail in the character themself.
this haruka card just takes all the bad elements of card design and throws them into one. the untrained art is bland (as most untrained art is, hence why training cards is supposed to make them look better) so that can’t even make up for the shitty trained art. if i were a big haruka fan i would be so pissed about this. i still am and she’s not even in my top 10 characters. proseka really forgot basic principles of design for this one huh 🤨

The mysteries of Wonder Egg Priority and some interesting things I found in it
Tumblr media
Oh hi Acca. Wait is that a crack on your right lens?
One of the great things about WEP is that it is an original anime wherein we do not have any source material to check on its story thus we do not have a clue on what’s gonna happen next besides the things that happen in each episode. These are one of those animes which are fun to observe.
Tumblr media
Plot Summary: Ai scores a “Wonder Egg” from a gachapon machine at a deserted arcade. But now when Ai falls asleep a girl emerges from her Wonder Egg, the worlds of dreams and reality begin to collide. And it’s all connected.
From the first episode, we have been given a huge amount of symbolism. Aside from the main subject of bullying and Ai’s guilt by pretending not to see it that cost her bestfriend’s life, there are a lot of other things that I noticed that seem to have a deeper meaning behind them or could be a hint to something. I’ll list these things one by one from the first 2 episodes..
This post is going to be quite a long one, so I’ll keep it minimal enough to just tickle your thoughts. And believe me, things got clearer to me as I am making this post.
The anime starts in a sort of a dream world.. or is it?
1) The firefly
Tumblr media
In some cultures firefly may not have a positive reputation. But in Japan, where they are called "hotaru," they are beloved – a metaphor for passionate love in poetry since Man'you-shu (the 8th century anthology). -Namiko Abe @ thoughtco.com
Ai can be seen looking at a dead firefly. She seems caring for it and she even gave it a proper burial. Could this symbolize someone dear to her? Now let’s proceed..
2) person in the car
Tumblr media
Is this a clue? I’ll remember that hair for some reason..
3) Ai’s conversation with the firefly and the Special Gacha Machine
firefly: What are you doing in a place like this?
Ai: Walking.
F: This late at night?
After burying the firefly, it suddenly came out the soil and spoke to Ai with a male voice. Their conversation seems to me like a suspicious man talking to an innocent girl in a place where a young one like her isn’t supposed to be..
F: The first time’s free. Next time bring your wallet.
This is one of the things commonly used to convince someone to try something they are usually not willing to for the first time. Like a free trial..
Tumblr media
..and was then led somewhere underground where the “Special Gacha Machine” is located.
Tumblr media
That’s a lotta eggs. What could this underground facility be? And here’s the Gacha Machine:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So that’s the thing in the poster.
Weird huh? But the next morning, Ai wakes up with the egg beside her..
4) The dream
Tumblr media
..Or is it not entirely a dream? I mean the egg appearing beside her is one thing although it could be that the egg is just in her mind. But the thing that complicates things is the injuries she gets in real life, to the point where she and even Neiru needs to get hospitalized.
Ai asked why this (the whole dream she’s in) is happening to her and this is what Kurumi said:
Tumblr media
“Nothing costs more than a free gift huh?” Indeed, life is priceless. But in this story, it is only free the first time. The second night, Ai paid a huge price. Could those injuries mean this?
Tumblr media
“This is a dream to you, but to me it is reality.” -Kurumi Saijo
Ai will not die in this dream, as long as her eyes and heart are okay.
Tumblr media
Did she really sneak at night twice? Since getting the Wonder Egg to saving Kurumi? In this scene we also see the teacher in full for the first time and I dunno about you guys but I think that hair is familiar..
Tumblr media
The firefly even asked her this. We’ve seen Ai sneaking out at night but the things that follow are strange enough to happen in real life. Is it possible that what we're seeing is a mixture of Ai’s imagination and reality?
Something caused these injuries. Or is it Ai herself? Let us find out..
Tumblr media
After saving Kurumi, a mysterious male voice said “Too bad, you only get saved. But you have to cheer up if you want your bestfriend back.”
She then asked this:
Tumblr media
..but got no clear response. Of course we know the answer, Koito is not going back to life. but why does the voice demand her to do that? Not even the firefly could answer her clearly. But she continued to believe that this will get her bestfriend back.
Tumblr media
“If you can’t protect them, you won’t make it either.” -Firefly
“There’s no point going to save someone if she gets herself killed.” -Ura-Acca
Does they mean the guilt might kill her too? Does this imply suicide? Could this be a hint where Ai gets her injuries?
And Neiru asked her who she is fighting for.. Ai firmly said it was for Koito.
Tumblr media
“You don’t like yourself now, so you go. You want to change the self you hate.” Well this could also be true for herself despite saying it’s for her sister whom she let die. How? We’ll soon know more about this I guess.. At the moment, we know that Neiru loves her current self.
Tumblr media
Ai hates herself for betraying her bestfriend. The first friend she ever had.
Tumblr media
Koito probably asked her to film the bullying as evidence, but Ai was too scared of being left out. She wasn’t able to get a good shot, but Koito only smiled at her and knew she did her best.
5) The egg
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From the title itself, the egg is a very prominent object in this anime. We still do not have a clear answer as to what it really represents, but according to the speaking firefly and Kurumi, it contains what a person wants the most, and in Ai’s case, it is a friend. She denies this to both of them but they both know it is the truth.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The eggs appear in different colors, with letters, numbers and symbols printed on them. Once cracked, it reveals a person. This is where we can relate the egg’s symbolism of life and creation.
Tumblr media
A mysterious male voice angrily told Ai to break the egg, and this is what he said afterwards:
Tumblr media
Ai is “good” at it, huh. What could he probably mean I wonder..
Tumblr media
It was later revealed that Kurumi is another sculpture, a “captured maiden” in a different world like Ai’s bestfriend Koito. This confirms that Kurumi is also dead, which leads me to think that the eggs are the souls of those who died from suicide or abuse.
Tumblr media
They couldn’t pass on unless the guilt of their friends stop holding them back. And this I think is also what’s happening to our MC Ai and Koito’s soul.
Tumblr media
6) Kurumi Saijo
Tumblr media
She wears a different uniform than Ai’s. A victim of bullying by 3 girls.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like Ai, she also said she did not have any friends, just superficial ones.
Tumblr media
And this could be hinting at the reason why she was bullied by those girls. She does have the looks. But these looks might be the reason why she had no real friends. And a boyfriend of this fake friend probably liked her and broke up with her fake friend which started the bullying. I smell jealousy.
Tumblr media
In this dream, she found her resolve while saving Kurumi.
Tumblr media
I gotta say though, the animation is impressive from start to finish. That button popping off has me goin “whoa they even thought of adding that bit.” And the explosion that followed.. oof.
After being saved by Ai, she asked Ai to not forget her and disappeared into dust. Was Kurumi able to finally pass on?
) Minami Suzuhara
Tumblr media
Seriously, in this anime, adorable girls have no friends.
Tumblr media
Damn her “trauma” is a ridiculous boob monster.
She could have died due to over fatigue and stress from her coach’s verbal abuse.
Tumblr media
Ai had another injury the following day.
) Ai’s enemies
The Seenoevils, a disorderly mob. In real life, they are the ones that pretend not to see the bullying, letting it happen and thus contribute to the damage being dealt to thee victim. And the form of the egg’s “traumas”, the Wonder Killer, which are the main cause who led the victims to their deaths. In the dream world, they do not attack Ai. But they can damage her, only for the effects to appear outside the dream.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ai uses Kurumi’s pen as her first weapon, and Minami’s ribbon wand as the second.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like Kurumi, after she was saved she also asked Ai to remember her before disappearing into dust.
) The teacher
Ai’s teacher seems really nice, going as far as to visit her and deliver the week’s print outs to their home. Ai must not be attending school for weeks..
Tumblr media
We now know that Ai’s location is nearby their teacher’s home. Could he be the guy in the car then? We don’t have enough evidence of that as of yet.
In the second episode, Ai’s teacher visited again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now we see his face. He’s got a mole huh.
Tumblr media
But why this question teach?
Tumblr media
So that’s his name. And why the special treatment?
Tumblr media
Here we see him walk behind Koito and she follows..
) Acca & Ura-Akka
The most intriguing thing I found in the first ep..
Tumblr media
After discovering the truth about Kurumi, Ai was led to the end of the underground tunnel and found these two strange dolls playing Go, a japanese traditional board game. One looks like a professional, and the other just casual. They introduced themselves as Acca and Ura-Acca.
Tumblr media
Judging by that definition, these two dolls could be the same person. Let’s watch out for that.. Who could this person be? And what is his connection to Ai?
Tumblr media
“Haste makes waste.” These two are worried about Neiru. They strongly advise on taking the process slow or else she might die. Is this person a therapist?
) Neiru Aonuma
Tumblr media
Did I read that right.. VICE PRESIDENT?? I get the feeling her sister died caused by neglect from their parents because they were more focused on this Neiru who “loves herself”. She also seems to me like a foreigner. She speaks english quite well and we see the mom with a nice cute afro.
Tumblr media
She was too greedy to get multiple eggs at once. She could have fought through an intense battle. Probably why she was put in the intensive care unit.
Tumblr media
She also does not know the fun of being in a friendship. But then she agrees on being friends with AI :) I am glad how Ai is starting to change too.
Tumblr media
I am looking forward for these two’s friendship <3
And that’s about all the curious things I’ve gathered in the first 2 episodes.
I am definitely going to continue watching this series and witness the truth unfold. Until the next egg time!

FEATURE: How ODDTAXI's Big Cast Keeps Its Mystery Interesting
Tumblr media
How many different characters can an anime have before things get too hairy? Or — furry?
Animal crime drama ODDTAXI takes its menagerie of a cast very seriously. ODDTAXI is about walrus taxi driver Odokawa, a runaway girl, organized crime, idols, and city living. It shares a “panoramic” day-in-the-life angle … with a twist. Despite its unique anthropomorphic animal character designs, its world is grounded in a reality where species is the least of anyone’s concerns.
Tumblr media
Taichi Kabawa explains the importance of social media to old man Odokawa
  EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED
You won’t find one-dimensional prey versus predator dynamics or a shallow status quo vaguely resembling a food chain. ODDTAXI’s cast unexpectedly finds themselves in Rashomon-esque contradictions and conspiracies with all the modern conveniences of social media.
Tumblr media
Mystery Kiss members Shiho Ichimura and Yuki Mitsuya contemplate their future
Rather than tell a linear story, ODDTAXI insists on showing us offbeat paths, as if we were a city-dweller bumping into eccentric personalities across the street. What matters most is first impressions: your job, gender, income. Even the most mundane facts can change everything.
Tumblr media
Sensational idol Rui Nikaido and fanboy Shun Imai at a polaroid event
ODDTAXI hits the ground running introducing about a dozen major characters, zig-zagging perspectives between cab rides. Until Episode 4 — “Tanaka’s Revolution.” This anomaly in pacing throws a wrench into everything we assume we know. After giving a random, supposedly one-off character an episode about his moral crusade, nothing can be taken for granted. It’s a risky move, but it pays off.
Tumblr media
When you accidentally turn on selfie mode
ODDTAXI’s “panoramic” pacing gets away with this by adding more pieces to an already incomplete puzzle. By introducing every character with the intent to break first impressions, we are forced to reconsider how ensemble casts make a mystery richer.
  WHAT ARE THE ODDS?
Odokawa is boring by design. He’s a 41-year-old with a laid-back attitude toward essentially everything, including gangster baboons pointing guns at his head. Odokawa says he’s like an authentic bartender: someone who knows keeping secrets is half the job. Keeping a missing high school girl in his apartment feels more like an aside than a plot twist — the first question asked in Episode 1 is answered before the credits roll.
Tumblr media
  Shirakawa rides with Odokawa
Odokawa’s private cab service is for everyone. His ability to make easy rapport might as well be a façade depending on who gets in. Alpaca nurse Shirakawa is stealing pharmaceutical medication, Odokawa assumes she’s just naive. We catch glimpses of a hopeless bachelor trying to find a girlfriend, a struggling idol group, gangsters, a student trying to go viral — what are they all hiding? There’s a niche for everyone in this tidy metropolitan ecosystem, even if it’s just “bachelor” or “idol fanboy.” First impressions lead us to assumptions any anonymous taxi driver would have. This is why introducing so many players at once works.
Tumblr media
Odokawa recounts seeing Shirakawa meeting with notorious gangster, Dobu
Dominos begin falling when Shirakawa’s activity leads back to a violent gangster named Dobu. She’s played as a possible love interest to melt Odokawa’s old, icy heart. It’s not exactly a slow burn, but by the time Odokawa becomes suspicious of this innocent-looking nurse, ODDTAXI’s omniscient bird’s-eye view of the city makes everything situational irony. Text messages we aren’t supposed to see, shady yet familiar figures in alleys … even when we’re not behind the wheel, we know just enough to piece it together.
  AGAINST TYPECASTING
Tumblr media
Rui Nikaido behind the scenes at an idol Halloween event
Toy poodle Rui Nikaido leads the girl group trio Mystery Kiss. ODDTAXI feeds us snippets of Mystery Kiss on TV and the radio, but never the big picture. Unsurprisingly, the idol industry isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Mystery Kiss is presenting a face-façade. It’s not even subtle: Rui’s backup dancers are contractually obligated to wear masks so Rui stands out — quite literally making them “two-faced” with contempt. By Episode 5, Shiho suggests that Rui is so ambitious she might’ve already killed someone to get ahead. Mystery Kiss is a microcosm of ODDTAXI’s ensemble cast at large. Everyone wears masks even when they don’t want to.
Tumblr media
Pretty in pink, better in leather.
Episode 2 shows Mystery Kiss fanboy Shun having a sincere heart-to-heart with Rui during an event. She tells him the business is hard and sales are underwhelming. Afterward, we see Rui and her manager behind the scenes: a jaded-looking Rui sports a punk leather jacket. Even the tell-all idol persona Shun saw earlier wasn’t the “real” Rui. In fact, Mystery Kiss’ manager, a bodyguard-sized fox, is withholding information from the girls. ODDTAXI doesn’t waste time putting its ensemble through the wringer of mask-breaking situations. First, come the disguises, then always harsh reality.
Tumblr media
Shiho tells her manager what she really thinks of Rui
  PROTAGONIST SYNDROME
Let’s come full circle. By the end of Episode 3, ODDTAXI gives us enough hints to realize Shirakawa and Mystery Kiss are perhaps part of something bigger. Not to mention the uncanny resemblance between an 18-year-old and Shiho partaking in dubious behavior on a dating app, or a possible gangster conspiracy against Odokawa. Unsuccessful manzai comedians confide to Odokawa about the competitive entertainment industry, while two policemen meerkat brothers play favorites with criminals. The world is an unfair anti-meritocracy, but no one’s insisting they’re the special hero who will fix it. Except for Tanaka.
Tumblr media
Tanaka cries tears of joy when he finally pulls a dodo in the mobile game “Zooden”
This is why “Tanaka’s Revolution” is refreshing despite being so jarring. In Episode 3, Odokawa nearly has a hit-and-run with Tanaka, causing him to break his phone. A dodo flashing on his screen before it shatters: “The bird that went extinct without ever learning to fly,” Tanaka monologues. “Perhaps I was projecting myself onto it. It was just like me.”
Tumblr media
"No, if I died here without achieving anything, I wouldn't even be Rare. I'd just be normal."
What happens next breaks convention by switching gears to the first-person. Tanaka’s childhood obsession with erasers mutates into a life-consuming compulsion to acquire a rare gacha character. ODDTAXI’s “panoramic” perspective is stretched to painful extremes by unexpectedly introducing a narrator so self-aware of his obsession with status it emotionally wrecks him.
Tumblr media
Tanaka’s sacred dodo is deleted from his Zooden account after his phone is repaired
  SHARE THE ROAD
Compared to Odokawa’s perpetual rotation of passengers, Tanaka’s voice is straightforward. He details his backstory until we know him better than Odokawa. Why frame an episode like this? Tanaka’s narcissism. It’s what makes him, and this episode, black sheep. In a world where everyone’s a main character, Tanaka suffers from toxic protagonist syndrome. His inability to accept reality for what it is leads him down a violent crusade. This episode doesn’t just serve to contextualize Tanaka in the ensemble itself but is also a warning against seeing only black and white.
Tumblr media
Odokawa drives with Mystery Kiss’s manager
With clever delivery of characters being in the right time and place, ODDTAXI is a rare breed of drama that prioritizes nuance. It’s a true testament to how ensemble casts best reflect the messy, unpredictable aspects of life. Although Odakawa isn’t without his own biases — no one is a perfect judge of character — you couldn’t have a better guide for this gallery of oddballs. When we start thinking of everyone as an empathic eccentric starring in their own backseat confessional down a bumpy road, we learn to listen.

Oh god this was longer then expected
Some General Background
So The Isle of Light was Originally the Black Forest A Place of Freedom and Expression for all who lead lives who Needed to hide Such and Some Such was The Coven of the Black Forest made up of 3 sisters (not biologically also there was a 4th) they all found comfort and love with each other one being the Princess of the Kingdom nearby (The 4th and Littlest one) She had a fiancé who was Mad with a Lust for power and Control over things he Didn’t need power and control over He Treated the Littlest one Cruelly when the other 3 Decided enough was enough when he did...SOMETHING to Part of the Forest so Horrible it turned Dead and Cruel (Subtle Subtle Hint Hint Wink) When all 3 Of them saw the Ruin They went so mad they turned to Darkness and fought him and all his Manmade monstrosities there when the Princess Arrived there was so much Dark energy everywhere it was Bad like Real Bad So with her friends now monsters she Fought them with a heavy heart her heart broke so much she fell afterwards immediately Unintentionally Sending her Kingdom to somewhere nobody knows where she is though...That’s an even bigger question BUT the story would live on as a Weilder of the key blade who slayed 3 evil witches...(Oh yeah did I mention Crowley knows And that’s Why He Let the Girls Attend because he thought they might be the Black Forest Coven Reincarnated And the Prophecy that when they Awakened the “Keys to their Hearts once more” They’d Free The Princess From her Mirror Prison Oh Yeah also the princess DID Die But her Reincarnation Goes inside a Mirror and is trapped there when she turns 17 and Doesn’t leave until she dIES ALSO ITS HIS OLDEST DAUGHTER THIS TIME ALSO YES HE HAS 2 DAUGHTERS...Okay lemme just calm down..Also yeah she thought of the Princess System) but After a Wish got safe haven for all Keyblade Weilders (I have KH Oc’s other then these don’t ask Longer story they live and basically founded Fortana Haven) I guess the Isle of Light Rose from the Shadow Realm to be just that oh yeah also the Isle of light is literally that kingdom if ya didn’t know
Fortana Haven
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Some Love Nikki BGs for Visualization if I’m Wrong about this from being from Love Nikki Correct me pls and if this is your art sorry and I’ll take it down)
Okay this Place Basically a Modern Fairytale Everything is so Rustic~ but they Have Cafe’s and Stuff~ They’re still very much in Development as a City..or town..or whatever Boss of everything Locket Clover (An OG KH OC) Runs Everything Wonderfully she welcomes everything with open arms and If you wanna run a shop or want a Building for a particular Thing or Activity she’s Pretty open to the idea unless it’s Incredibly Dumb But she will make you get The Wood and Supplies and The Bricks and the Brick Stick Sauce or whatever it’s called she might get give you help constructing but dang is she a firm believer in “DIY” but I like how she’s Determined to Have a Good Balance between Industrial and Rural In fact there is a Mall (God knows how it got there) And that’s pretty much all there is for your Juicy Capitalism Fix She Runs “Hope Stir” Workshop according to Her boyfriend Ephmer It was always Called a workshop but for the longest time she did EVERYTHING Subtle Farmwork And Animal Husbandry ACTUAL Workshop things all cause she wanted to help every Weilder she knew out and made sure they had a place for food and such She is a bit of a Moneyholic but when you’ve been doing what she’s been doing I bet you’d be too overall While it doesn’t have much History yet Fortana Haven (4-Tana is how you say it btw) Is truly well a Haven
Tumblr media
The Crowned Castle
(More Pics for Visuals I don’t think this is from love Nikki but if this is your artwork same applies I’m not gonna be the guy who Claims just cause it’s on google it belongs to everybody or something even though yeah I did find it on google)

Spring Anime 2020 Part 4: top 4 things you can do with fantasy mobile games
Shadowverse
In which we take it literally.
Tumblr media
Verseshadow is Cardfuture Fightbuddy, or Fight Gundam Builders, or Gi-Yu-Oh. As in, it’s not about the lore of the game and just about a bunch of kids with stupid haircuts taking it too seriously even for an universe where it’s the most important thing in the world. Which is fair enough, since as far as I’m aware Shadowverse is just a mishmash of various Cygames properties anyway. Man, these kids are having so much fun playing Shadowverse™, maybe I should throw a lot of money into the Shadowverse™ gacha to have some fun™ myself. Apart from recognizing it as an extremely transparent commercial for a dubious product, I can’t really say much about it; I have no particular hate for these since it’s not even remotely intended for me, it’s been a while since I last saw one, and they can be vastly more annoying than this. I suppose the idea that in 2020 you can’t just randomly find a legendary deck of cards and have to randomly find a legendary smartphone instead is worth a chuckle.
Shironeko Project - Zero Chronicle
In which we take it seriously.
Tumblr media
If only we were so lucky about Shironeko’s lore, because that one definitely cares a lot about its Light World vs Dark World nonsense. You get your pick between your boring-ass Light angel paladins and your grimderp edgy Darksiders, and there’s a lot of stern talking about honor and duty and quite a bit of suffering as well. Too bad it’s all in service of something that aspires to be the next Price of Smiles (lol can you believe I watched that shit), and that’s if we're lucky. There’s even some things in it that could work in a better story, such as Darkboy’s way of becoming relevant, but I don’t think this has any chance of ending up as epic as it wants to. Not with those looks, at least.
Princess Connect! Re:Dive
In which we take the piss.
Tumblr media
Princess Connect knows that your dumb mobile game setting will never impress anyone, so it picks a better target: Konosuba. I mean, it’s almost as if Cygames just went and hired the same director oh wait that’s exactly what they did. PriConne is working within the lore, but it’s just a bunch of goofballs being stupid for purposes of comedy so it doesn’t really matter. Now, out of all these approaches I agree with this one the most, but it raises another problem: I didn’t like even Konosuba enough to watch it due to my dislike of that type of anime comedy, and this is less funny. So while I’m not about to watch it either, I can at least give credit where it’s due, and that’s in the execution of said unfunny antics — PriConne has great production values and is very competently made in general. If you’re among the statistically significant percentage of people who aren’t me, it’s likely you’ll approve.
Shachou, Battle no Jikan desu!
In which we take the day off.
Tumblr media
The final option is of course to just put the game on the screen and leave it at that. Out of all of these, I feel like I have the best idea of what a game Shachou Battle actually is, because if you desire map overviews, tutorials and loading screens in your anime, you’re in luck with this one — it appears to be honest to a fault, because if i’m correct, the game’s not very good either. At least the tone is lightly comedic instead of srsfkn.biz (god I feel old), but there just isn’t anything to it. Overdesigned people with no personality run around questing and it’s all very, very boring. I guess the anime designs are going for a Hiro Kanzaki style, which I always approve of, but of course they couldn’t get the real thing so they just had the AD from Oreimo do it instead and that already says it all, really. If the world has any justice left in it, Shachou Battle is a show that will be forgotten even before it finishes airing.

Love Live, Revue Starlight & A Little Thing Called Envy
Alt title: my long journey into Bushiroad hell.
Tumblr media
So, those of you who have been long time followers on my blog know that I have had an obsession with playing both Love Live and Revue Starlight. My deep dive into these two franchises has made me realize why some people (both jokingly and seriously) call these “idol hells”.
Because when you get down to it, it really can be like hell sometimes. And though the anime are more harmless fun, this more or less applies to my experience with the games.
I currently sit at Rank 113 on Revue Starlight ReLIVE, Rank 121 on SIF (I think...I haven’t played that game in about a week), and Rank 33 on SIFAS. Yet some days, I don’t feel satisfied with my progress. Revue Starlight is way more competitive with its PVP system, but I also can get rather unsatisfied playing Love Live!AS as well, especially when I see players at a higher rank than me, when I see that they have all the cards I wanted and more, when they have max limit broken URs as guests whereas I can only dream of getting to that level. Seeing these players obtain cards (including the ever elusive Arthur Karen, Fes Setsuna and others) that I wanted had me seeing green. And in order to catch up with other players, I decided to spend money. And I mean, a lot of money. We’re talking probably hundreds of dollars over several months.
I managed to get some of the cards that I wanted, but it still wasn’t enough. And spending money on cards and not getting that UR is one of the worst feelings ever—though not nearly as bad as seeing a rival player with the card you wanted. Love Live!AS hasn’t really given me this issue since the prices are so inflated I rarely spend money on there, but Revue was a game I was willing to empty my savings account for, if only so I can get my new cards.
Add in to the fact that it takes me a while to get used to a game, and well...due to a combination of envy and frustration, I ended up resenting and dreading something that should have taken my mind off of work for a while. I picked up on Revue Starlight’s turn-based system quickly, but I’m still learning the Awakening system. I got so frustrated with Love Live!AS that I quit after a few months due to this envious frustration, even though I enjoyed the characters and story. And after a while, my gacha pulls on Revue Starlight became useless, so I stopped playing that too (although my interest in the series was starting to wane at the time as well).
That was when I realized that something had to give. I couldn’t keep wasting my money on games like these, nor could I spend so much time playing them. I noticed that they were making me socially distant from others. I barely hung out with my online friends because as soon as I got home I would boot up either SIFAS or SIF and play them for hours. I ended up being dropped out of school because I decided the game was more important than homework. And writing stories? What’s that?
With the help of my granddad, I managed to get my spending down. I did go a little crazy with my spending once the stimulus checks hit, though, which didn’t help at all. Spending money on these games kept me from getting things I wanted, as well as things I needed.
That was when I decided that it was time for a change.
So I started keeping track of my game purchases, setting a limit for how much time and money I spend on games, and to get things in the game through good old fashioned grinding. I don’t have as much time on my hands as other players who are rank 45 and higher, but I decided to use the time limit to clear songs and aim for completion rather than simply “get new cards”. I also made the decision to focus on two games instead of all three, going back occasionally to one or the other. This is the current reason why I’m still at the same level on SIF, because I’ve spent more time playing Love Live!AS and ReLIVE. This has affected my skill in SIF, though, but I know I just need to get into the swing of things with a few more practices.
And yes, though I still struggle with envy and disappointment sometimes, I don’t feel quite as anxious as I did before when I was starting to play. Since I’ve come to the conclusion that I DON’T need to race to catch up with everyone else, that I DON’T need that UR to be truly happy, that I DON’T need to collect every character in the game, I’ve been enjoying the games I play a lot more. I’ve been working on skill and team building in addition to completion, and though it is tedious, I feel that I’m getting better with each team I build. I take advantage of campaigns to build up my members, and play several songs or go through several stages a day to get more items and clear lists. And I’ve decided that I’ll be taking the time to build up my initial and 3 star members instead of focusing solely on the UR members of each game.
And since I’ve got my iPad, I can now set time limits and reminders for tasks, which keeps me from “forgetting” and keeping me on track with assignments and chores. It does suck getting interrupted in the middle of a game, but it helps me to remember the important things. And since I currently don’t have a steady internet provider (using the hotspot on my phone), I need to make sure I keep up with it. I now spend less time on the game than I did before, and have better grades.
So, there you have it. Yeah, idol hell is a real thing, and the journey into it can be long and arduous, even destructive at times. But I learned my lesson about letting it dominate every part of my life, and have curbed back on it significantly. Having hobbies is good, but not if it’s destroying everything else I want and love to do.
Now, if you don’t mind, I’m going to do my other things before doing my daily limit on SIFAS.
NOTE: I would include Bandori, but I don’t play it much now (due to being salty about losing my other account), so that’s not applicable.

Anime I think I remember watching this year
I need to keep better track of this I guess.
Aggressive Retsuko: Great! Very likable characters (even the bastards), just the right amount of millennial cynicism. 9/10 Aggressive Retsuko Christmas Special: It's not about Christmas, it's about instagram. It's great and extremely real (watch the series first though). Digimon Adventure tri 1 & 2: This is actually very boring so far. I planned to jump back in with the english dub, which is honestly how I should have been watching it from the beginning. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten around to it. Kado The Right Answer: If this show had not been sabotaged from the inside out in the last 2-3 episodes, this would have probably been up there with classics like Bebop. WEST WING: THE ANIME, we would have called it, or something. I haven't watched West Wing, but it's all bureaucracy, right? 8/10 in this universe, 10/10 in the alternate universe where it didn't shit the bed. Angolmois: I got halfway through this before the low budget and my own exhaustion had me drop it. Unfortunate, since anime never adapts the mongol invasion. Planet With: In the running for series of the year, probably. A super robot show where the ultimate moral is that, actually, rehabilitating your enemies is better than killing them. Will rewatch in the future, I'm sure. 10/10. Asobi Asobase: Hina Kino (Hanako)'s is going to go down as a legendary voice actress if I have any say in anything. Which I do, because I'm in charge of the industry now. Which means we're taking out queerphobic jokes, wrap it up people. 8/10, would rank higher without the bad takes. Cells at Work!: Really fun concept, has *implications* of a deeper narrative to be had built into the worldbuilding, but ultimately the whole season is just "oh I bet this irl thing would translate like this in my setting" on repeat. Still, an easy watch. 7/10. Hanebado!: There's a lot that could be good about this. Themes of toxicity in competitive spaces, overwork, abandonment, and trauma. Ending had a lot of people upset because it either miscommunicated how the protagonist moved past her trauma (best case), or just completely dropped the entire arc because...I don't know why. I rated this 9/10 on myanimelist, but it probably deserves lower. I'm still over here wanting to believe I missed something in my interpretation. Hoping for either a second season or a faster manga translation. My Hero Academia S3: This season had some high points but I felt it was considerably less interesting overall than the second season. However, Deku vs Bakugou was genuinely one of the best moments of the series thus far. My Hero Academia The Movie: Pretty standard shonen series movie for the sake of having one. Nothing groundbreaking here. But hey, I got to listen to "You Say Run" in a theater, which was almost worth the price of admission on its own. 6/10. Ushio & Tora: Both seasons, thirty nine episodes. Waste of my time! Maybe this series was just meant to be consumed bit by bit, but I just found it really shallow in the end. 6/10. Chio's School Road: Another *brilliant* comedy that is ultimately brought down by the occasional queerphobic humor. Get it toGETHER, guys! In any case, I care about these stupid children now, and hope for a season two soon. 8/10. Angels of Death: It took about 14 out of the total 16 episodes before I suddenly stopped hate watching it and started laughing at its unwarranted self seriousness and paradoxical writing. Still, kind of frustrated I stuck with it anyway. 4/10. Night is Young, Walk On Girl: Gorgeous movie that has to be seen, but. I wonder if it's Yuasa or the original writer of these books that insists on the resolution to all conflict being "heterosexuality". 9/10. Haibane Renmei: I got four episodes in before the Funi/Crunchy split happened ;__; it's really good tho Dragon Pilot: Definitely gonna rewatch this one one day too. There is a density of theme and execution here that I cannot yet fully unpack and it's just so good. Also the english dub is good, and is how I preferred to watch it. It also has a lesbian and isn't afraid of her, even if her role is very small. It's something. 9/10, maybe 10/10. Mirai: I fucking love Mamoru Hosoda's films. 9/10. Zombieland Saga: I have the sneaking feeling that they wanted a few more HOT PROGRESSIVE TAKES to be fit in before the season ended, but restraints got in the way. We had a sex worker idol who never got her backstory episode, and actually Tae never got hers either. It's still a 9/10 for me, but I'm hoping for at least a followup OVA. And a movie. Granblue Fantasy: I finished the full season, save for the "omake" episode that I assume takes place in the alternate universe where Protagonist Is Girl. This was somewhat throwaway cozy saturday morning nostalgia for the old days of Final Fantasy before that game series became more grounded in contemporary and sci-fi settings. It was also something I watched as a primer for the incoming Platinum and ArcSys games, because I'm not gonna play two gacha games at the same time. Hilariously, the--like--twenty new characters from the gacha that showed up in the last episode were all more interesting than the cast of the full season. 7/10, 10/10 for having a race of hot girls with horns (there are also guys but who cares). Hi Score Girl: This show is a love letter to growing up with arcades in 90s Japan and also struggling with making friends and ohhh my god every time the idiot main boy stops paying attention to important interpersonal plot and just starts infodumping about a game, I tragically see myself. It's very good, the girls are GOOD GIRLS and deserve better and the writing seems fully aware of that.  The series unfortunately ends on a stock romantic plot beat cliffhanger that I have to wait until March to have ultimately resolved in THREE EPISODES. Despite that, it's easily a 9/10. I list a lot of 9/10s but it's been a good couple seasons and there's just...a lot of range there. Number scores are bullshit. Watch anime. Shin Getter Robo: Probably the last show I'll have finished before the year end. It's my second exposure to Getter Robo (my first was reading Getter Robo Go, which actually takes place after this), and it's still good, but oh god. These guys are dumb bastards but there's a note early in that has aged particularly badly in the MeToo era. Not sure if the show got better because I switched audio tracks to English with VAs I have nostalgia for, or because they broke through the bottom of a lake and wound up in alternate history Heian era Japan, stranded for multiple years. With a giant robot. I liked that part. 8/10. Shows I took a break from due to burnout and need to pick back up: Run with the Wind, Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, Vento Aureo, SSSS.Gridman, Hinomaruzumou, Ms. Vampire who lives in my neighborhood, As Miss Beelzebub Likes It., Devilman Crybaby, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Skull-face Bookseller Honda-san. SO MANY!!

Finished chapter 3 and in the middle of chapter 4 (and things are getting spoilery) :
- found a few more heart to heart. It was quite funny to have Tora laments on feeling useless in battle after I benched him. Guess the game does expect you to bench him for the new character.
- I noticed how these scenes are voiced and involve several characters. In XB1, the scenes are silent and involves only two characters bonding. The voice acting is cool but I think they should have kept the two character bonding thing (group stuff is nice too… but so far, Tora has been starring in all of them… i’m afraid the game may push some characters forward more than others in these heart to heart).
- so, met Zeke (it’s Zek in french apparently) and his blade twice. He’s so over the top lol… i saw people comparing him with Bart from Xenogears, but Bart was down to earth next to him (then again, the over the top shonen humor in XB2 is quite new to Xeno… except maybe when it comes to mascot characters). Bart also had a heavy backstory and duty. That said, eye patch thing, trying to snatch your « weapon » upon the first meeting… I can see why comparaisons are made. I’m waiting to see who Zeke is beyond “comic relief guy” though.
- I don’t know if it’s just me but enemies feel quite spongey compared to previous XB games. In the first game, it was quicker and easier to beat a group of enemies. Not so much here (in fact, I’m dying a lot... and chapter 4 is pissing me off a bit because of this... too many enemies ganging up on you, all spongey... the most annoying thing is getting teleported way back and all enemies getting revived). In the first XB game, I was already going against uniques in the first 10 hours. I never bothered to beat a single one in this one and i’m past 30 hours in. Then again, I was battling uniques in XB1 because it was part of the quests and I knew they were giving capacity points too.
- I really like Uraya overall. The town gives me Skyrim (Solitude) vibe coupled with Baten Kaitos maybe (with a touch of Zora village from Breath of the Wild) ?
- speaking of this town… i’m still clueless where their king or queen even is… where’s the palace ?
- i’m starting to understand maybe why people feel frustrated when exploring in this game. It took me way too much time to understand how to get to Uraya’s main town (and I just quit yesterday playing chapter 4 because a piece of bridge fell while i was walking on it and the only path towards the next main story point I can see is blocked by blade skills i don’t have... that said, maybe this bridge will be whole again when I’ll return to the game... otherwise, that would be bullshit). I also understand why it can feel frustrating to have exploration blocked by requirements that are entirely linked to the blades you managed to get based on pure luck. But I can only encourage Monolith to explore player/environment interactions further. Maybe Zelda’s success will make their next Xeno/jrpg game a lot better on this front (I have lots of gripes about the new Zelda sure… but the way we could interact with the environment, using elements and all, wasn’t one of them).
- so far, town music is definitively more memorable/better than in XB1 (Mitsuda composed them, didn’t he ?).
- while I like towns better in this than XB1, i think it really was a mistake to take the social network thing away. It just makes townies a lot less endearing. It takes away the sense of communities the first two Xenoblade games had. It was really one of Xenoblade’s biggest strength imo.
- returning to Argentum made me realize how nice this place is. A callback to the Thames from Xenogears but with warm Ghibli aesthetics too (love the interior in the upper floors).
- the more I play Tiger Tiger, the more I like it... Dunno if it’s because I was craving for some actual mini games in the modern Xeno games (sick of the hunt/fetch routine) or because the mini game is legit nice. But locking Poppi’s entire upgrade system behind a single mini game probably sucks for anyone who hates playing it.
- I can send blades to expeditions now… between this and the pull to get blades system, the game feels very mobile gacha inspired (by the way, got a rainbow in FFBE the same day I got KOS-MOS). Not that the expedition system was invented by mobile games. It was in FF Tactics on PS1 after all. But the way the characters are sent to missions just remind me of FFBE.
- Also, people sure don’t mind giving command of their military force to a kid they just met lol (old person speaking uhuh).
- this theater thing was nice (and very Baten Kaitos looking).
- the last bosses were brutal… even being higher leveled than them… until I just switched Vandham for Tora (well see, perverted furball… you’re more useful than the big guy with the giant bird after all… crazy).
- speaking of them… I find them quite obnoxious. Maybe it’s the Nomura aesthetics… or the fact they kept wrecking my party… I did feel a bit sorry for Akhos (?) in the end though.
- Malos, or the Sephiroth school of villainy… wearing Gaignun Kukai’s face.
- Giant robot flashback… and a bonus Zohar with a pissy Mithra in it. I love how i’m trying to enjoy this game without comparing it too much to its heavy successors story wise… but the game won’t let me. Oh well…
- hi Mythra… it amused me how she went « fuck off ! I didn’t want to wake up ! I’m out ! » just after being introduced. Also, one of her lines was straight out of Xenosaga 3. As a Xenogears fan, her behavior also reminded me of the « coward ».
- Vandham’s death. I did like the character... but not enough to feel much during this scene apparently (losing the wind bird though... rude... but you get it back quickly anyway). People are not going to feel much when a character they just met dies (unless they’re known to have a close bond with the main character from the get go maybe... which is why killing Alice in Xenogears or Fiora in Xenoblade 1 felt more brutal despite happening very early... because they were introduced as the “childhood friend character/love interest/sister”). Especially if the character is a big bulky guy and the death quite cliché for this kind of character.
- also... did... did they bury him in a freaking concrete/stone ground ?
- I only just remembered Poppi broke at the end of the chapter. But she wasn’t that broken, it seems. They really didn’t make a big fuss about it.
- first time in forever since a character shared a bed with his obvious love interest in a Xeno game. But let’s not expect anything mature here. Mythra was just sleepwalking and happened to end up in Rex’s bed. So, yeah... the whole scene was an entire “you stupid pervert” joke you often see in harem animes (with “omg boobs in front of my face” reaction from Rex). That said, this darn hat that Dromach wears is a thing of glory. Highlight of the scene lol... Ah, and they also acknowledge Mythra/Pyra’s clothing being ridiculous in this scene.
- the whole “thievery” plotline was kind of filler. But still, I guess I’m glad those kids have a place to belong now. Guess I can see the Oliver Twist inspiration here (Takahashi said it was one of the works that made him want to make XB2). And now, the bird is back and Rex can have another 5 stars blade (though, I also managed to get Perceval for him, with a common core crystal).
- Speaking of new rare blade, I also got Boreas for Nia. But controlling Nia with him as her main blade kinda sucks. Boreas is so big that he almost takes the whole screen. But he’s a healer. That’s cool. That’s Nia’s main job.
- Muimui... I’m so glad you’re not the playable mascot character (really, even considering Tora). Seriously, this little guy is like... a nopon version of Peter Pettigrew from Harry Potter (maybe it’s appriopriate, he seems shaddy). But higher pitched. And his name sounds kinda dumb, spoken out loud.
- I like Mor Ardain’s city. Reminds me of Nortune from Xenogears (too bad Mor Ardain’s Titan is a brown wasteland though... but hey, it is dying, after all).
- I really liked the cutscene introducing Mor Ardain’s “emperor”. The music was perfect, Morag and Brighid were there, I generally like child emperor/empress (like say, Larsa from FF12)... and I guess Morag is of royal blood now ?
- Tora’s background story unvealed... and I’m sure it was dramatic... but holy shit, I just wanted to laugh when seeing this small nopon holding a huge gun. Tora is like... Maria Balthasar as a male perverted Chuchu. It’s weird. Now, off to retrieve his giant rob... I mean, gothic lolita robot.
- Hot spring naked time... with convenient censor fog. I knew something like this was in ever since the first trailer. Some people managed to spot a keyword for a bath scene or something. Sigh... What should I say ? I like Persona and they did much worse with this kind of stuff. But it’s still pandering. I don’t even remember what the heck the girls were talking about (expect Poppi maybe... something about being waterproof ?).
- Second battle transition against Zeke was kind of funny. Rex gets bitchslapped by Mythra and the screen breaks, FF10 style.
