#yeah so i finished reading the song of achilles and it was fine#pretty well written i would say#don’t particularly care for making thetis the homophobic mom but i guess when you change her backstory#that happens#i suppose i appreciate the complexity of maternal figure in the story bc i did see her pov#and that she did allow achilles and patroclus to be together in death#tho if achilles had died already then why not honor his wish sooner… whatever#just didn’t like that particular alteration#also patroclus was kinda passive even tho originally he was a warrior so. eh#greek mythology is a little unserious at times#kinda wonder how much of the book can be attributed to patroclus being unreliable#idk seems like the hades game version of the story is better but we move#we move#books#reading#the song of achilles#tsoa#tsoa spoilers#meme#book memes
