Remi Margot is different from other TSS paras because they do not have any experiences with the horrors of the world. Every other para has had some awful traumatic experience that has shaped the way they see things - except for Remi, who is innocent to an extreme.

They were born and raised in the Preservers (a large group of Enhanced that decided if society didn’t want them, they’d just fuck off to some remote island and form their own society!) and have grown up in a little bubble that is almost entirely without danger. Bad things just don’t happen! They’re impulsive and naive because up to this point, their actions have never actually had serious consequences.

Remi convinced Fox to take them with him by saying they’d had a vision and there was no way he could succeed without them. That was a bold-faced lie. They didn’t see anything like that! They just wanted to go with him, thinking they’d have a fun little action movie adventure and then go home perfectly fine! But alas, the hero can never truly return home, can they?

Remi’s ability is to predict all possible outcomes of the future, and potentially steer the world down that path. Up to this point, they’ve only ever used that ability for dumb shit like winning bets and cheating at card games. They’ve always seen it as a blessing, as something that’s just Kinda Cool™️! Except now, where the only visions they’re having are the ones where all their new friends meet a horrible demise - and the only path they can see where everyone survives is the path where Remi dies.

Which is. You know. Really fucked up and terrifying, especially for someone who has never experienced anything like this before. Everyone else around them has dealt with hopeless situations before - but fear in general is completely new to them and now they’re having visions of their own death.

And now Remi has to choose between sacrificing themself or everyone they care for.
