Taking a break from One Piece to get WAY too into Sweeney Todd. 2023 revival looks cool but Josh Groban/Annaleigh Ashford (and Aaron Tveit/Sutton Foster) are too pretty imo. I grew up watching the 2001 concert version with George Hearn and Patti Lupone, I want my middle aged main characters to be freaky, emotionally unhinged and a little ugly. Plus there’s not enough love for Michael Ball and Imelda Staunton in the 2012 west end revival, they’re phenomenal!!
