I thought she was talking about a real duck named Thurmond until she mentioned McConnell. Then, I tried to backpedal through the conversation I was only half listening to, in the hope of not getting yelled at. Just trying to be funny, I asked if she'd meant turtle.
She hadn't, and she wanted to know why I don't automatically listen to her the first time around, just to save time. I didn't have an answer that wasn't mean so I just said I dunno.
What I was thinking about was Don Amece's confused face in Folks! and Oscar. Then I wondered whether he had any kids. Would I recognize his kids? I wondered what he looked like when he was young.
