Just finished watching the latest Great British Baking Show Christmas special with the cast from It's a Sin. So much fun! Just as great as the one featuring the cast from Derry Girls.

For 2023, I would love to see the cast from Heartstopper on the GBBO Christmas special. They all seem to get along very well. It would make for a great episode. Given the popularity of both shows, the number of people watching would most likely break the Internet which would be nothing but pure publicity gold for both shows and Netflix.

So, I'm starting early with my wish list for next year. This image...or one created by someone with more Photoshop skills (and who's had more coffee) is what I hope to see for the 2023 Great Christmas Baking Show.

If you're a fan of one or both shows, pick up the banner, start a petition...make some noise so that this idea takes root and starts to grow in the minds of the people who could make this collaboration happen.

Mr. Mush R. Oom This was fun and so relaxing. Took a break from all the holiday crafting this past weekend to make something that wasn't a gift...or at least it didn't start life with the intention of being a gift. I just put an audio book on and took time to enjoy the process...which is also how this ended up taking nearly 13 hours to complete because I finished the first audio book and made it 6 hours into the next one. 😂 These are two images of the same piece. The first is natural light and the second was taken last night when I finished using an LED desk lamp.

Mr. Oom is actually a pattern from a book by Lora S. Irish that I received as an early Christmas present. I'm sure it wasn't meant to be an early gift, but when you open an Amazon box and find wrapped presents and 1 unwrapped book, Christmas comes early. 🤣 I love it regardless of the timing. Thank you, my friend.

2022 Christmas Ornaments

3D printed bust of the King of Halloween Town, Jack Skellington. I finished this one several months ago, but waited till Fall to upload it. I used a combination of acrylic paints, inks, and homemade washes. All of the dark colors are actually inks. His suit is dark blue with a blue wash over the white shirt as well to make the piece pop. If I’d just used white and black paint it would have come out flatter than a pancake. LOL If you’ve ever tried to paint something tiny and delicate, like the black details around the teeth and nose, try using inks. Dropping them in and letting them do all the work to flow around the parts worked really well, and the eyes...that is just a cotton swab dipped in black ink and swirled in the socket. No cleanup around the edges needed.

Wizard's House 9"x13" basswood plank. Finished this one a couple of nights ago. The reference image was one of my own art pieces. The quote was an afterthought since that big blank area was bothering me. I liked the quote better than adding some random flying birds. 😂

Wood Burning

Growing up, I attended a lot of craft shows.  I always had a great time when my mom and I would go.  We’d look at every booth, eat corn dogs, funnel cakes, candied apples, and cotton candy.  It was like going to the fair, but with crafts.  The artists working with wood and leather never failed to impress me.  It was at these craft shows that I learned about wood burning. How’d you spend your day off?

Shocker of shockers...I painted.  LOL

Alcohol ink paintings I made yesterday using T-rex and Pinata inks.  The pink and brown one is on Duralar.  The pink, purple, teal one is on Yupo.  I wasn’t happy about the way the teal was staining the Yupo when the other colors weren’t.  So, I abandoned it...for now anyway.  The colors are still pretty together.
