We gotta start with Dom/Sub / BDSM. Blanket statement. The structure and well-defined rules make navigating sexual play feel more secure for them; they don't really have to worry about it as much with each other, because they have always been able to communicate their feelings and wants and needs to each other fairly easily, but when bringing in additional partners, the structure allows them that sense of safety and security.

I usually like to think Ingo and Emmet pretty consistently align to dom and sub roles respectively, although their physical positions switch. I think this is slightly more Ingo's thing than Emmet, though Emmet certainly isn't opposed.

I like writing Ingo with a possessive streak. Part of it certainly stems from his desire to protect his brother from anyone potentially suspicious (read: anyone besides himself). Part of it is entirely selfish and jealous, which is something he is usually good at hiding. When it comes to his brother though, his composure and rationality shatters surprisingly fast. It's something Emmet knows, and likes to exploit and take advantage of just to see that darker side of Ingo come to the surface.

(cw: ntr) Emmet can be a tease and a flirt. He wants Ingo's attention, and all attention is good attention. He'll always try to rile Ingo up in public, try to crack his composure, try to get a reaction out of him. He knows the power he holds over his brother, and he's always testing the limits of what he's allowed to get away with. He'll flirt around to make Ingo jealous or invite casual partners into their apartment knowing Ingo will walk in on them, just to piss him off. At the end of the day though, Emmet always comes back to Ingo.

Ingo likes to mark Emmet up when they have sex; scratches and bitemarks, bruises, rope and wax burns. He purposefully does it in places that aren't necessarily out in the open, but that have the potential of slipping into view; his collarbones, his wrists, his hips. Emmet is usually exasperated with the state of his body in the aftermath, but the sting of raw scratch marks rubbing against his clothing or the ache of bruises on his arms and hips as he goes through his workday always sends a thrill down his spine at the memory of how exactly they were placed there. Ingo, on the other hand, can't help but to puff out his chest a little more at the mere glimpse of the marks; as taboo as it might be, there's a part of him that wants other people to see them and wonder just how exactly they got there, and who was the cause of them. Similarly, they're not opposed to experimenting with things like shibari under clothing or plugs/vibrators inserted for extended periods of time.

They attempt public sex a lot more often than they should, considering their relationship and their reputation. He would be more than fine with Ingo taking him by force, any time, any place he wanted. Here's just some random thoughts that aren't developed enough for a whole damn paragraph.

Ingo will then research everything exhaustively, even if it's not something he’s really interested in, and be ready to try it by the next evening.

This one is less serious but I like to ignore the whole identical twin realism for a second just to make Emmet have a huge dick that he doesn't use. Surprisingly in this AU, I have found that their sexual relationship has become key to the story - Emmet is someone who has forgotten what vulnerability and tenderness was like. Ingo only wishes to make his brother laugh, less tied up in his own thoughts.

Initially they fall into (an old memory) of a Dom/sub dynamic, where there is a sense of 'rule following' and strict boundaries that allow them to safely explore intimacy. They also slowly have to relearn things about each other -- Emmet wanting to be more open with his self to Ingo. Ingo wanting to actually feel like he doesnt need to hide that he doesnt know much about their world anymore, that he's not the 'perfect older brother' he 'used to be'

I'd say it took until about... the Guiana Highlands, around when Domon is doing his training arc. The very first time they did it in unison was when Domon does that Shining Finger onto the Devil Gundam. Moon was beside herself with joy, that's how she knew Lillie *got it.*

Irida's brainworms with the Zeta Gundam stems from her enjoyment of MA modes in general. I imagined a young Irida watched the start of Gundam Wing, saw the bird form, and went ":O", which helped draw her into MA modes as a whole. Zeta stood out to her as a powerful option, especially with it's association with stars (because she was obviously interested in space), and just how it moves about.

I'd clock in the final fight Kamille has with Yazan, with the Biosensor, but even just general space fights got her interested because of how the Zeta moved around. She pondered about using such a mobile suit to explore deep space, and... well, the Choros was born a few years after that, with her finally getting the courage to do her own paint job, especially after being hired at a hobby store. (Emmet and Ingo were very willing to offer their advice - they may not build Gunpla, but they know how to fucking paint.)

As for Dawn? A combination of seeing her mom kick ass in the Garura as well as the big fight the Sazabi has with the Nu Gundam solidified it in her mind. Her mom showed a very excited kid Dawn a lot of her previous matches, and seeing the Sazabi move around so freely, dealing devastating, heavy blows, really stood out in her mind, and it looked cool. Combine that with seeing all of the strong options available at the Sazabi's disposal, Dawn was hooked. (Especially after a CCA watch. She really enjoyed seeing it do that cool upwards kick.)

Of course, she still started with the Dom Empert at first - her mom had suggested it as a simpler start and helped her customize it to her own playstyle. She would use a Sazabi in casual matches, but it was definitely a bit too far out of her reach at first... but as she got better, so too did her prowess in that suit. And, while she loved the Dom Empert, noticing a need for a power boost (and also wanting to move to one of the suits she really liked), the Sazabi Empert was born.

Barry's team is, I imagined, pretty similar to the one he's got in-game. His final team would probably look like this, really:

Barry's Torterra is absolutely on his wavelength. That's his starter -- despite Torterra being a slower Pokemon, he absolutely understands Barry's battling style and everything along those lines. You wouldn't think Torterra is so slow with how they fight. He's kind of like a big puppydog, showering his trainer with affection and very excitable.

Rapidash and Staraptor are also on his wavelength, similar to Torterra. They're both quick and nimble Pokemon, fitting his more impatient attitude and generally being able to get in and do heavy damage fast. They know how to play fast, keep up with his speed, all of that. They're in-sync with him. Staraptor and Rapidash share this oddly intense bond of friendship, seemingly having more respect for one another than anyone else on Barry's team. Maybe even Barry himself... (but they don't hate the others or anything, they simply have this unspoken eternal bond to one another. Nobody knows why, really.)

Heracross and Floatzel are a bit more reserved, but they still love and respect their trainer. They find a mutual bond in one another in perhaps how over the top Barry can be. It's not uncommon for them to just give the "hey, you seeing this shit too?" look to one another while Barry goes on and on about something. It's all out of love, though, and they still can fight and keep up with that faster pace.

Snorlax doesn't pay much mind to anything. As long as he's fed, he's happy. If Barry needs to pull out a trump card, he loudly promises Snorlax a giant feast of a meal if they can clutch this out, which immediately wakes it up and seemingly makes it even more powerful. (Of course, he does follow up on it, even if they lose. Maybe that's why he keeps fining Dawn...)

SBS Dawn hasn't seen anything Gundam related yet, she was always more into shoujo/magical girl stuff. Your Cardcaptor Sakuras, your Symphogears, and the like. (It's a smaller love for her, but one she still enjoys dearly.)

That being said, I'd imagine during their trip to Alola, Dawn passed by a store and went "...Woah, that thing looks cool," when looking at the RG Sazabi in the window. Didn't pay it much mind, though.

im once again attempting to write character analysis when i should be sleeping but just let me cook for a second. There really is something to be said about exploring a contradictory dichotomy between being Protective and being Dangerous, and I do think that can and should extend to Ingo as he's commonly characterized. I think it's slipped its way into my writing without me thinking consciously of it but I think it'll be fun to actually ramble about it so. read more time LOL.

I like to portray Ingo as the protective older brother, overbearing and bordering on possessive at times out of his love and concern for Emmet's wellbeing. But he's also the one who's portrayed to be more sensitive; he seems to have genuine interest in supporting others as they grow, he seems taken aback and a little self conscious that people think he's stoic and severe when he thinks he's smiling.

When it comes to Ingo and Emmet in a romantic/sexual relationship, that's part of the reason people tend to write Ingo weighed down by the Catholic Guilt of it all; he seems like he'd be far more remorseful and sensitive to the opinions of others than Emmet does. And that guilt is probably a constant in the background of their relationship, Ingo telling himself that he's coerced and manipulated Emmet somehow, even without consciously meaning to, even if Emmet seems completely on board with it all. He's the older brother and he's supposed to be the responsible one, and look at what he's done -- taken advantage of his authority to push his sick and selfish desires onto Emmet.

I don't think Ingo IS ready to be a dom when he and Emmet start having sex. Frankly, I don't think either of them are ready for it when they start experimenting with it. I do think he would break down in panic attacks at the mere idea of hurting Emmet somehow -- it's antithetical to how he has lived his entire life. Emmet tells him he has complete faith in Ingo to do anything to him, and that just paralyzes him.

I've written before about Ingo being hesitant to act out scenes that involve inflicting physical pain onto Emmet, and needs a LOT of aftercare after finishing particularly intense scenes, and that's once their relationship has been established for many years. At the start of it all, he's probably a nervous wreck, at his worst afraid to touch Emmet at all for fear of hurting him or "infecting" him somehow.

As they progress and learn to set boundaries and Ingo starts to get it into his head that what he does pleases Emmet rather than hurts him, he starts to get comfortable with his role. But that only lends itself to another cycle of paranoia what Ingo realizes that he is starting to fantasize, that he's starting to not only get comfortable with his role but is starting to enjoy it. He starts imagining them having sex in the Gear Station office, starts imagining how cute Emmet would look kneeling at his feet with a collar around his neck, starts imagining how he might flush and shiver around a vibrating plug up his ass -- and it sets him off again. He's back at square one again and not only is he a monster for coercing Emmet into falling in love with him, now he's a monster for all of the depraved things he wants -- and it's not just that he's imagining them, he does want them -- to do to him.
