Dolores reached out to scratch the back of her neck, a nervous, high-pitched voice escaping her lips. “I appreciate the compliments, but I believe you’ve got me confused with someone else.” Taking a side glance, she spotted the ministry worker that had been on the table beside hers had finally left, meaning she could finally lift up the nice act. “I’ve never, and never will work in a bar. I’m a Ministry worker, and I’d never dare go any lower than that. Now if you’ll please excuse me.” Grabbing her now half-empty cup, the girl stood up in hopes to walk away from this situation.

It had been a long day at work, considering the amount of illicit use of magic in the last few weeks. She’d been filling and sending letters to so many wizards across the country, she ended up losing counting of how many she did in a day. So the moment she stepped in the elevator, Dolores felt relieved at the thought she would finally be able to go home, and relax with her cats. Except, someone from the office, an intern, if she was right, stepped in the frame of the elevator and looked straight at her. ‘There seems a letter has been forgotten. It was supposed to be sent today, but it’s still not done. Could you please take care of it?” If it was any other day, she would’ve accepted. It always looked good when it would be time for promotions. But the girl was particularly exhausted that day, and all she could think was rest. “I’m sorry, could you please ask Mafalda? I believe she’s still in the office.” She replied, with a smile nice enough to send the intern back where he came from. She didn’t lie, and at least she could finally go home.

She knew she heard a cat, she wasn’t crazy about that. It was rather faint, but not exactly distant. More like it was enclosed somewhere. And if there was one thing Dolores didn’t always follow the rules for, it was cats being in possible danger. Which is what she was doing, looking into any place where a cat could’ve gotten caught, even if that meant walking on a private property. “Come on, little cat, where are you?” She said, nearly frustrated about not being able to find the animal.
