reactions to Blood Blockade Battlefront ep2
Genuine laugh 2 minutes into the episode.  I know that daily attacking your ally to assert your skills is an old anime trope, but I still love it.  ^.^!  Plus, Kazuya Nakai is just so funny!  ^u^
"Nightow" is on a big store sign in the opening theme!  ^o^
Oh!  Bump of Chicken!  That's why this opening theme sounds so familar!  That reminds me: I need to finish March Comes in Like a Lion.
"Dogimo's Pizza."  Something tells me Yasuhiro Nightow has been spending more time in America than I thought.  LOL
What the hell, Zapp!  Don't answer the door naked!  I don't care if you know the pizza delivery guy!  JFC...
What the hell?!?  Order a pizza yourself, Zapp!  Poor Leo...  ;o;
"Yo! Tube".  LOL
I feel kind of weird watching this series.  Like I have such high expectations since I know it's from the manga-ka for Trigun.  I mean, I loved that series, but it didn't become my full-bown obsession.  ...I don't think.  I mean, I cosplayed Rem Saverem, but I think I was more into the themes of the story, than my usual character-based obsessions in fandoms.  I guess I'm not used to having such reflexsively high expectations for a new series before.  It bugs me every moment.  But it's actually less like I'm expecting this series to resonnate with me as much as Trigun, and more like I'm itching for this series to fulfill the action expectations that a few Crunchyroll clips have set me up to expect.  I could really use a good action series again.  ;o;  Even something on the level of Get Backers was my happiness back in the day.  And Blood Blockade Battlefront seems to have the makings of a good action series that isn't just overt Shonen Jump tropes.  I love Shonen Jump, but that can't be the whole of my Shonen genre diet.  ;o;  I guess I'm just impatient for all this story/character/world setup to finish, so I could get into the action scenes.  ...But these setup scenes are also good!  @w@!
Leo's god eyes remind me of something someone said in Natsume Yuujinchou, that just seeing is already a great power in and of itself.  Zapp and Sumeragi are talking like Leo's vision is the same as him just being crazy.  But just seeing more truths and aspects to everything is a BIG advantage.  And gives access to a lot of power, if Leo can just lean and train the proper way.  I wonder if there's going to be a whole magic system introduced, that Leo's vision will give him an advantage in.  Probably.
Oh, wow!  Such a short amount of time, and they already introduced that Zapp can do some kind of tracking magic, what Sumeragi's ability is, and that neither of them still has was it takes to make Leo's god vision unnecessary.  In fact, Leo's "All-seeing Eyes of the Gods" makes up for both of their missteps: Zapp unable to dodge that invisible attack and Sumeragi's nose losing track.  Such efficient storytelling!  O.O!
Wait.  So Leo can spread his vision to other people?
Wow, the music in this series is so vintage!  Lucky I love big band jazz!  ^u^  Actually, this juxtaposition of 1940's aesthetics and modern technology kind of reminds me of the Batman the Animated Series.  ^o^
Ok.  I get that they're doing the whole "tsundere revealed to be nice" thing...But did Zapp have to eat ALL of Leo's pizza deliveries?!  Those probably came out of Leo's paycheck!!!  And Zap beat the crap out of Leo each time, to boot!
Oh, thank gods!  I'm glad Leo isn't that much of a doormat.  I'm sick of that whole "romanticizing being a doormat" thing from the Shoujo genre.
It's interesting that Leo is still trying to be a photojournalist.  Especially now that we know he has that "All-seeing Eyes of the Gods".
Isn't a cemetery at a hospital normal?  At least around older hospitals?  Am I missing something?
I wonder if every episode is going to try to end wtih a blend into the ending theme.  o.o?  Natsume Yuujinchou started to do that with their season 4(?) episodes, and sometimes it just didn't fit properly.  I hope it's either better in this series, or not in every ep.
By the way, I really like that the monkey has hung around.  It's cute and gives Leonardo a friend until he finds his spot within Libra.  ^__^
Union Square Garden!  I love the theme song they did for Tiger & Bunny!!!!!!!  ^u^!
I really like this series.  ^-^  Full of action, but a little deeper than the usual Shonen Jump series.  It's got that slightly more Seinen vibe, from like Baccano and Fullmetal Alchemist.  ...Jeeze, how long have I been watching pretty much just Shonen Jump?  O~o?
Also I keep thinking it'd fit right into Toonami.  But after watching SaberSpark's video today, I'm not sure what Cartoon Network is willing to invest in, that isn't Teen Titans Go.
