Liveread: Dofus tome 3 - Les larmes turquoise
I finally got around to reading the bits of this book that have a crepinjurgen cameo. Like the last time, I learned about this cameo from a post by @julith-jurgen, and have sourced the translation of said book from a discord server, where @uelman runs games using these books and translates them.
Unlike last time, there are sadly no crepinjurgen illustrations in this book, the only thing we get is text — and Joris's appearance is far smaller than Kerubim's in the other book. Still, it's very nice to see even more Dofus MMO-era content of the two of them... (<- Guy who is normal about Dofus MMO-era crepinjurgens)
In these books, you make up a character, and try to get the six dofus, one book at a time. That is all of the context that you need.
You attempt to delay the inevitable by moving to a spot that'll make things harder for your enemies. You defend yourself doggedly, drawing power from the two Dofus. One sea creature is taken down by the crimson fire. The other two intensify their assaults. You lose 1 Hit Point. Thanks to the Emerald Dofus's energy you don't feel tired yet, but you know that soon your movements will be slower, more uncertain. Defeat seems inevitable... Suddenly, a huge piece of wood knocks down on a cultist's skull. A few seconds later, another assailant is biting the dust, knocked out. The two last robbed monsters try to understand what's happening. You take advantage of their surprise to attack... Very quickly, the fight's finished. Your opponents lay on the floor, unconscious. Now that's a turnabout!
Yeaa that's a classic Joris entrance, especially in the MMO times, since this series of books canonically more-or-less takes place in the same timeframe. He has a knack for drama.
youtube
[I am referencing the moments at 5:44 and 18:07, he has overdramatic ways of meeting the player two times in a row...]
In disbelief, you discover the source of this unexpected rescue: a small-sized being, wearing white and blue, whose face is hidden by a hood. To whom do those eyes filled with intelligence and that long pointy nose belong? Your benefactor is probably not an Imp: judging from the size of the imposing bludgeon he handles like a feather, this strange person wields extraordinary strength. Also, his hoarse voice isn't that of a child. "Best go back up without delay. The mermaids will take care of the Sea Witch's servants."
This is all very accurate except I really doubt Joris's eyes are filled with "intelligence". I'm sorry.
With bewildering agility, the gnome rushes upstairs. You follow on his heels, but you have a hard time doing so. A few instant later, you're at the beach, before the turquoise sanctuary. Girle Pylot is swinging over the palm trees. The creature you owe your life to turns towards you. "You can join your friends in an instant. But first, I have a question to ask you. Who do you serve?" (Answer chosen by the discord players): 2. "You proclaim that you're at the service of the witch Meriana, who saw in you the future wielder of the six Dofus."
Like in the last post I made about these gamebooks, I want to point out that Meriana is an important character to the lore of Krosmoz, especially the Dofus MMO era.
Also, she's friends with Kerubim: and both in the last book, and the game proper, she often has you contact him for various information and tips.
The hooded figure gives you an inscrutable stare. "You're loyal to the one who guided you to the Dofus, and that's commendable. But take care not to take a wrong turn." Are those words threats, or well-intended warnings? It's hard to say.
I'm pretty sure this is just his idea of small talk because he's crazy.
You ask the enigmatic person who they are. The gnome lets out a small laugh. "You do not need to know my name. Know only that I am interested in dragons. Bolgrot is attempting to force its way into the World of Twelve and, if it succeeds, nothing good will come from such an event." You ask your mysterious benefactor if his help was merely coincidental. "It's Furye's minions that lead me here. You earned the attention of the Sea Witch: she ordered her creatures to get ride of you. When I saw you in a bad spot, I decided to intervene. I do not think you'll have any complaints regarding my decision..." The conversation with your saviour having ended, you go back to your friends.
Loving his decision to stay anonymous ngl. Girl why? Anyway, of Course he'd be interested in dragons. Fork in kitchen spotted.
"We were starting to get worried! At one point, I thought I noticed some suspicious movements near the building's entrance, but that must've been my imagination playing tricks on me... You seemed to be talking to someone earlier, since when do you speak to yourself?" You turn back: the hooded gnome has disappeared as quickly as he appeared. But something tells you that you'll meet him again in the future... You check that you still have Aguabrial's tear on your bag, then announce to Girle Pylote that you're ready for your next destination: Badmorva's mark.
I really do hope you meet him again, lmao! Here's to hoping we may see him or his family in this book series once again in the future.

Will “The Great Wave” Wakfu manga have more than 10 chapters?
There’s something that’s been bothering me ever since the official webtoon for “The Great Wave” appeared on Allskreen and in the Krosmoz app.
We all know Tot confirmed to us that the webtoon will turn into a manga to be released on June 7, 2024. We know the manga will have a prologue chapter that will appear before chapter 1. We also know that the manga will have 208 pages with 10 chapters.
But the thing that bugs me here is that that’s all he said about the number of chapters we were going to have. Tot never once mentioned another set of chapters that will come out later on and he never said anything about a second volume.
Since he never said any of those things, how come we see that the Krosmoz app labelled these ten chapters as “Volume 1”?
Here it is in plain sight! I even circled it in red for you just so you can see how Ankama did not attempt to make it smaller.
“Tome 1” translates to “Volume 1” in English.
Again, Tot never clarified about any volume 2 in the works but would it be far-fetched to think that they are planning on giving us more than ten chapters?
Because think about it.
I did the math and 208 pages will only have about 20ish pages for 10 chapters. With everything we have going on, the amount of pages for each chapter is nothing.
Absolutely nothing.
Do you expect me to believe that a single volume of 208 pages containing 20ish pages for EACH chapter will be enough to explain the other rulers’ reactions to Yugo and Amalia’s alliance, the royal Osamodas family butting heads with Amalia, the events that will line up to the great wave WHILE dealing with Yugo and Amalia’s new relationship status after A FEW MONTHS since their political marriage??
Maybe I’m very late on this and everyone else has already realized that we were going to have a second volume, but I’m still processing it all.
It’s weird to know that we might have a second volume. Don’t get me wrong, I’d be very ecstatic if we’ll end up having that. I just feel weird because Tot never mentioned a second volume. His team hadn’t said anything about it. Everyone was talking about the ten chapters. Not even Cynthia Leman, better known as cathianedraws on insta, the official artist for the webtoon/manga, said anything about a second volume.
And yet here we have an indication that tells us we’ll have one.
The funny thing about this is that Allskreen on the other hand doesn’t show any indication that the ten chapters are part of the first volume. It doesn’t imply that there’s a second volume in the works either.
So now I’m confused.
The Krosmoz app isn’t helping either because I made sure to see if this wasn’t a recurring thing that happens. What I mean by that is that I tried to make sure no other webtoons/mangas in the app have an icon that only says Volume 1 to specify a couple of chapters.
And surely enough, if you look at other works that have been completed, you’ll only find completed works done in one volume (like the Lance Dur, Dofus Monster comics, etc.) with no icon forced to specify that these were part of “Volume 1”.
For other works that DO have multiple volumes, they actually do have that same icon.
So since completed works with very few chapters don’t deserve to have the “Volume 1” icon, I only have one question :
Does that mean we’re going to have more than ten chapters?
The only reason why I’m still not convinced is because no one mentioned anything about a second volume coming out in the future!
#PLEASE make this real!!!#I BETTER BE RIGHT#wakfu#ankama#krosmoz#wakfu season 4#wakfu s4#wakfu manga#wakfu webtoon#wakfu season 5#wakfu s5

Elsewhere Chronicles (Les Enfants d’ailleurs) rant kinda
I realize that most people don't talk about the Elsewhere Chronicles(Les Enfants d’ailleurs), and honestly it is a bit saddening. A series written by Nykko (who also wrote Dofus monster, a book related to the Wakfu franchise) and a Illustrator by the name of Bannister, who I was not able to require much information on. I am unsure where one may be able to read this series, but you can get the books on amazon and maybe (if you are lucky) at your public library.

Loving arty is what freed goultard from his thousand years long curse. He had become cold and cruel and cynical, a monster, but just meeting arty made goultard able to FEEL again. Just by being there, arty gave goultard his humanity back, and helped him through the pain that followed.
And what kills me is that even before arty was born, and even after he died, gou still had a special bond with arty's dofus. The way he clearly yearns for its warmth, kept it inside him for years without being able to handle its power, letting it burn and consume him from the inside out. And it's said it would have killed him a long time ago if he hadn't been a demigod. Being overwhelmed by its power, learning how to control it, becoming its guardian. Arty's soul was always and is still in that thing.
How long did he keep it inside him after arty was gone.
The parallel between the demon, this monstrous creature which literally lived inside goultard, against his will, feeding off of him, making him utterly miserable for centuries, and artys dofus which he kept inside him willingly.
Something to fill the hole inside him, heal the wound.
Arty's whole journey was him trying to redeem himself for the terrible harm he caused and make his adopted grandfather proud. But goultard had no reason to join him on his quest other than simply wanting to fight by his side. He never looked for redemption. He was perfectly fine being feared and hated by all, serving his own interests and no one else's. But he was loyal to arty.
How short the few months they spend together must have felt for someone over 2000 years old. Arty was in and out of his life in the blink of an eye and, without even trying to, changed him forever.
#i am ill#this isnt even all of it but i just dont have the words to explain auuurrghhh#honestly i dont even care if its romantic or platonic or whatever but gou loved arty more than anything he loved him so so so much#dofus#dofus manga#goultard#arty et gougou#dofus symbiote

Liveblog: Wakfu Season 2 (episodes 1-5)
Episode 1 - Monsters and Chimeras
I didn't mention it in the liveblog of season 1, but I think it is probably common for a person in a group of adventurers to be a scribe/quest journal keeper.
(putting on a crepinjurgenite tinfoil hat) We know that Kerubim keeps one canonically, and that as a child Joris liked scrap booking, so my headcanon is as follows:
While travelling alone, Joris keeps a private travel journal nobody is allowed to read (it has: drawings and photos of views he found beautiful + quick sketches of maps and notes on environment to refine at home (HE'S CANONICALLY INTO CARTOGRAPHY, BESIDES PHOTOGRAPHY) + he gets sappy&mentally ill about it all, so it's cringe to him.) (Unsurprisingly, it never contains any sensitive political data or his objectives, and if he does need to write something like that down, he tears that page out asap)
Atcham doesn't keep journals as a rule (having a literal paper trail might reveal to the investigators the location where he hid the bodies)
While travelling as a group, Kerubim keeps the journal, and it's a pretty pragmatic one (for him. He writes down the most random things, from important info, to actual fucking recipies he learned and personal notes à la "NOTE! next morning after we exit the tavern i should buy tangerines. i think Joris is beginning to suffer vitamin C deficiency but is keeping silent about it as usual"). Unlike Joris, he isn't into photography or doodling, HOWEVER, he will purposefully ask Joris to take photos and draw maps/landmarks in that journal. Because Joris is good at it. (And because he has had a folder of Joris's art through ages 4-600 in a hidden room in the house, all framed and sorted alphabetically, and he NEEDS more items in the collection.)
Episode 2 - Rubilaxia
It was mentioned at the end of the previous episode that Eva would be making her way through the Cania plains, and I am glad the series shows us at least one of the unique rocks found in Cania.
I don't know why, but it feels nice when the games and the cartoons represent the same place the same way. That's why I'm pointing that out.
Episode 3 - Remington Smisse
(coughs) This sword appears in episode 1 of the critically acclaimed (and worldwide-beloved) show under the name "Dofus: Aux Tresors de Kerubim"
Once again, the show has been planting seeds for Adamai's joker arc for its entire run, and still managed to squander it during season 3.
I have never seen a show fumble the bag that bad, I'm sorry.
Episode 4 - The Return of Percedal
Big believer in rubitristeva. A family can be a dad and swdad (sword dad) and a mom.
Episode 5 - The Dragon Pig
Wakfu Cannibalism Counter: 1
The reason I point this out is that, with every instance of inter-adventurer cannibalism in canon, the chance that Joris, Kerubim, and Atcham have tasted human flesh (outside of Waven) grows.
On the topic of Waven Cannibalism Lore, strangely, porkassess, AKA the pig people who are stuck in a mutual cannibalism war with Bonta under Joris's rule (technically not cannibalism because they are a different sentient species from twelvians, similar to goblins and bworks, but I doubt it's much better...) worship the minor god Ougah (who is a mushroom)
It is unknown (at least, to me) what the hell the Dragon Pig is.
But he is definitely tasty.
While they were busy grinding their professions and doing pizzlarva quests, he was dungeon crawling with his guild.
Also, let me be real, the whole conflict of "boo-hoo, nobody respects Tristepin" is random, mean-spirited, and out of character, inserted into the show simply to create conflict. Tristepin got resurrected after weeks of them thinking he was dead. They should not, logically, treat him this way (at least yet).
Reasons I think Dragon Pig might be an immortal, perpetually reincarnating/perpetually killed porkass: Does this to a person who lives in areas surrounding Bonta.

Kali and Poo’s child can become a hazard.
…So where is it now?
(‼️OGREST MANGA SPOILERS‼️)
Warning(s) : mentions of infertility, miscarriage, and sexual assault.
.
.
.
.
.
.
We all know that the gods do not procreate with each other because they know they will create a calamity or a possible monster capable of killing the gods themselves.
Iop had once made the mistake of breaking that rule by drunkenly trespassing in Sadida’s sanctuary and deflowering Lacrima, one of Sadida’s ten divine dolls. Lacrima was a part of Sadida so Iop had essentially done the same thing to Sadida. Therefore, because Lacrima ended up getting pregnant and conceiving a child, Iop impregnated Sadida.
And just like that strict rule predicted, the offspring of two gods resulted in a monstrous child who possessed the power to slay those same gods. This child was named Cornu Mollu.
So what would happen if two demigods got together?
We know what kind of children a demigod would get with a mortal.
Goultard, a demigod iop, is an example of this and we can see how in the Dofus manga, he had many women and numerous children due to his relationships.
But despite growing so many families, the offsprings themselves couldn’t live as long as him. Every year, since their deaths, he goes back to the cemetery to pay respects to his wives and children he had in the past so he would never forget them and would be reminded that they all existed.
We even see in a special episode attributed to him that the kids were simply mortals.
So children belonging to a demigod and a mortal are either mortals or they can live very long but wouldn’t be labelled as a demigod.
We can also see that it can be possible for demigods to NOT be able to have children with mortals.
Otomaï, a demigod feca, is an example of this case. He once had a mortal woman in his life who was named Merina.
Unlike Goultard’s wives, Merina was the only woman in Otomaï’s life. The two had met at a young age and even went to school together. She would constantly follow him around when he was making his discoveries with science and would admire his knowledge and fascination for these kinds of things.
She later became a shepherdess and even told Otomaï she wanted to grow a family of their own so they could become the shepherds of their home.
But despite loving one another to the purest level, Merina wasn’t able to conceive a child with Otomaï. No matter how badly Merina wanted a family, their efforts were in vain. Otomaï wasn’t worried about her situation, however. He simply told her that in time, they would eventually have a child.
Merina's time was running out, unlike Otomaï who had all the time in the world. Therefore, Otomaï made a promise to find a way to make her pregnant, anticipating that with their efforts, they will soon be blessed with a child.
But no matter how hard he tried, he constantly failed over and over again. Merina was never angry at his attempts, however.
At some point in their lives, Merina eventually died of old age without making a family with him.
Otomaï was so distraught by this that he tried transferring her wakfu but to no avail. He even took out her reproductive organs to sew them in Dathura’s stomach in a desperate attempt but with no success.
After Merina's death, Otomaï decided to bury her beneath the shade of a tree. Sometime later, an acorn sprouted from that very tree, which was peculiar since it was the only one that had ever grown on that tree. This occurrence sparked a newfound hope in Otomaï to try again in order to preserve a memory of Merina's life.
After conducting his research and utilizing his alchemy skills along with the power of Merina's acorn, he was able to create Ogrest - a remarkable achievement that showcases the power of combining science and nature.
Otomaï’s story with Merina is possibly one of the only instances where we got to see a demigod unable to reproduce with a mortal. It is uncertain whether Merina's inability to bear children was due to her implied infertility or if Otomaï was the underlying cause. It's also possible that neither of them would have been able to have kids, regardless of who their partner was. The reader is left to draw their own conclusions on this matter.
We have learned two things about a demigod having a child with a mortal based on the cases of Goultard and Otomaï :
1) A demigod can reproduce with a mortal and can either have mortal children or children who can last a bit longer than the average mortal.
2) A demigod can try reproducing with a mortal but can fail no matter how many times they try.
So here’s where we come back to the question that started all of this.
What would happen if TWO demigods got together instead?
Based on my personal observation, there was just one instance in the krosmoz where we got to witness this particular situation unfolding. And that was in the Ogrest manga featuring two specific characters.
Kali and Poo.
Kali and Poo were in a romantic relationship which resulted in Kali becoming pregnant with their child.
Translation in the red circle.
Kali: “And who are you to tell me that?”
Poo: “The father of the child you’re carrying.”
But there are two issues regarding this peculiar situation.
Number One: Would the child turn out to become a demigod as well?
Number Two: Would it turn into a monster like Cornu Mollu capable of killing divinities?
In volume 4, Kali's stomach does not appear to have any significant pregnancy bump which suggests that she was still in the early stages of her pregnancy. Despite this, she was still able to move around and perform physical activities with ease, including killing people and using their body parts as clothing. This indicates that Kali recently discovered she was pregnant and was still capable of functioning normally during the early stages of her pregnancy. As the child grows, it remains uncertain how they will turn out.
Unfortunately, the Ogrest manga is still not complete but Mig, the illustrator for the manga, has recently been giving little sneak peeks on volume 5 so we will eventually see Kali and Poo again very soon.
Regardless, it still begs the question of what might happen to the future baby.
But what is even more baffling to realize, for those who have read the manga at least, Kali is NOT pregnant in Season 3 and Season 4.
Her involvement with Poo happened in the Dofus era so we should be able to see the child in the Wakfu era. And yet, we don’t see anything about them. We don’t get a mention of them or if they even exist.
This is rather odd because Kali and Poo were very much always seen together in the fourth volume of the Ogrest manga when they became adults.
So the child should’ve been conceived between the Dofus and Wakfu era right?
Again, if we look at the gods, they strictly do NOT meddle with each other because they are aware of what they can make together.
Poo and Kali don’t seem like they know this fact. Or maybe they simply don't care.
So here are four possibilities I came up with:
1) The child has been conceived but is a demigod sacrier or pandawa and there are no consequences to Kali and Poo’s affair.
2) The child is a mortal sacrier or pandawa but died from old age between the two eras.
3) The child is an actual monster and due to its nature, the brotherhood of the forgotten had to kill it whether Kali and Poo wanted to or not.
4) Kali had a miscarriage because two demigods are not able to fully have a child together.
Personally, I cannot think of any positive outcomes for the child. I think that no matter what happens, it will not be good.
