The Star Money Story

Long ago, there was a little girl named Anaya. She was all alone. Her parents were dead and she had nowhere to live. A kind stranger gave her a piece of bread, and apart from the clothes she had on, that was all she had. But she trusted a good God to take care of her. "I must save the bread for as long as I can!" she said, "Of course, I'll be hungry later." She carefully placed the bread in her coat pocket. Passing by, Anaya met a man, much poorer than her. "Please skip!" he said, “Do you have bread to share? I'm terribly hungry." Although she was also hungry, she reached into her pocket and gave her bread to the poor man. “God bless this bread and whoever eats it,” she said, and moved on as the man ate every crumb greedily. She passed by a bush and heard a baby crying. “I feel so cold,” said the boy, “if only I had something to cover my head with.” "It is very cold!" Anaya agreed. “Here, take this. She took off the scarf that was wrapped around her head and tied it tightly around the boy's ears. "Like this?" she asked. "Thank you, miss. I am much warmer now,” the boy said. “God bless this scarf and keep you warm,” she said. As the night grew colder, Anaya shuddered and pulled her coat tighter around her. “Help me! I’m freezing without a coat to keep warm,” the voice of a young girl pleaded. Anaya knew what to do. She took off her coat and handed it to the little girl: “God bless this coat and keep you from the cold.” The girl wrapped herself up in a warm coat and said, "Thank you, miss!" Further down the road, she met another child and began to cry. "Why are you naked?" she asked the girl. "Someone stole my clothes and I have nothing to wear. I'm afraid I'll freeze to death," replied the little girl. "Yes God bless this dress," Anaya said as she took off her last piece of clothing and slipped it over the other girl's head. "Oh, thank you miss! Cheers!" The girl reached out her hand and kissed Anaya on the cheek. As she walked off into the darkness, Anaya thought about how lucky she was to be able to help others. She did not think about her nakedness or need. Suddenly, the sky was lit up with shooting stars that landed around her. She circled, enjoying the spectacle of the light show. When it was over, she looked down and found herself fully dressed in a thin linen dress and a wool coat. Her head was covered with the warmest scarf. But that's not all the magic that happened. Want to know what else happened? When Anaya looked down, the ground was covered with star money! The stars turned into gold coins.
