I've been seeing you say/speculate Rachel Smythe has been cut loose from webtoon, could you elaborate what you mean by that?

It's only a tinfoil hat theory that people should take with MOUNTAINS of salt (seriously, I'm more likely to believe that Rachel really is just done with LO), but there's a general suspicion that LO wasn't meant to end here and that Webtoons decided to cut the cord. I've made a post about it before but some new stuff has surfaced since then.

1.) The announcement the series was ending was made quietly at NYCC and not shared to either Webtoons' socials or Rachel's socials.

The only way fans initially knew about the series ending was through a screencap from the Discord where someone else who had been attending NYCC passed on the info from a Q&A that LO would be entering its final arc.

For a good while the only other way to know the series was ending was through the Discord, a Cosmopolitan article, and my own post.

Though it sounds odd for a series to get cancelled halfway through its third season, it's not uncommon for Webtoons to suddenly axe series while they're on their midseason hiatuses, it's happened before. So there's a general suspicion that Rachel may have found out during NYCC that LO would only be given one more arc.

2.) The actual finale announcement was made in a text post on Instagram that suddenly announced it would be ending on May 11th, despite the fact that there was still lots to wrap up in the story.

What this implies is that Rachel was given one more arc, with no concrete end date... until Webtoons told her to wrap it up in a limited number of episodes, hence why despite us knowing it was in its final arc, the end date still felt too soon. This is also supported by the fact that her initial announcement was vaguely "early/mid 2024" - she couldn't give a more accurate end date because she didn't plan for the actual ending.

3.) Things that Rachel has said implies that she was either hoping for the final arc to go on longer, or that she didn't think LO was going to be ending now.

(that "nothing is set in stone" quote further supports the theory that she may have been hoping to get renewed in spite of the lukewarm ending announcement - that the only reason the announcement was so quiet was because WT hadn't fully committed to it yet and wanted to see how the series would do upon its return; now that they see it falling behind to other series, it might mean WT became more sure in their decision to cut it and gave her an actual deadline to wrap it up by.)

4.) Webtoons has stopped promoting Lore Olympus despite it ending.

Any promotional spots that it has gotten have been stuffed into the dead zone of the banner reels (seriously, anything past the 3rd spot is practically useless because it takes actual committed scrolling to get there vs. the first 1-3 banner spots which can be seen as soon as you open the app/site) and the banner art itself does not in any way advertise the series being in its final arc. These banners also only seem to be appearing for a day at most, compared to the days upwards of weeks they used to get.

Webtoons also hasn't been doing any sort of promoting on their socials for it. Considering The Mafia Nanny has been consistently beating out LO in the top rankings for weeks now, and that LO's rating and view count is still dropping, it appears that Webtoons has finally given up on shoving it down people's throats and put their focus elsewhere.

Again, this is all tinfoil hat speculation, so take it with massive doses of salt. Considering this is Webtoons, I wouldn't be surprised if they finally decided to put LO out of its misery, but this is also Rachel and I wouldn't blame her in the slightest if she finally wanted to be done with it after the past two years of people clowning on it. And I say that knowing I, myself, am a clown LOL

Either way, I feel like either outcome is plausible in its own ways, but whatever is the true reason, it doesn't change the fact that LO is ending and has 3 episodes left to wrap itself up. And whatever comes after will likely involve the launch of Inklore which was estimated for the spring.

I wanted to make another post about some of the possible massive season 2 leaks for "Rings of Power" as I've gotten so many more thoughts about it and need to get them out. 😀 Also I'm hoping this does happen now as my mind has been thinking on this and how much it makes sense to me that I'm going to be sad if it doesn't. LOL

So if anyone didn't see The One Ring Net posted a tons of leaks last week and I've posted another post all about that. But the ones that got to me obviously was the reveal that they're going to give Sauron/Halbrand a son that Adar killed. This was before s1 happened and the form Adar knew (played by Gavi). This would add so much complexity to Sauron/Halbrand/Mairon as him having a child is huge and showing he actually is capable of love despite being a villain. Some of my favorite villains in other shows/movies/books do have families and sometimes the only people they love are their children and partner, so adding this to Sauron would just be a plus for me. It also would prove that he does have feelings for Galadriel and is capable of loving her. We all know he was good in the beginning and like Melian is a Maiar so it's totally possible for him to become a father and fall in love with an elf.

Then it makes me wonder who is playing this boy. Is it someone already announced or is it just someone in one episodes explaining this backstory? Then what is his name and like another fan pointed out could Sauron choosing the name Halbrand actually be honoring his son if the name is similar? Also if he's part Maiar does that mean after Adar killed him the son went to Valinor? That would also explain why Sauron/Halbrand was thinking of just living on his own and even contemplated trying to get redemption as maybe he thought he'd be able to reunite with his son at some point.

Then this all brings me again to Celebrian and if it's possible the show really could make her be Sauron's daughter. Weirdly enough one of the leaks said that Sauron/Halbrand is actually pretending to be Celeborn and that's who really reunites with Galadriel. So we have that possibility and that Galadriel gets pregnant that way, but personally I would prefer if it happens after she finds out it's Sauron/Halbrand and we do have another leak that she gets captured by Adar and then have to make a choice in the season finale and possibly decides to stay with Sauron/Halbrand setting up season 3.

All along I figured Celebrian will be born in season 3 so they could even make it to where Galadriel and Sauron/Halbrand did decide to try to make it work as a couple and she changes her mind to be his queen. We know season 4 supposedly is Sauron/Halbrand going back to Numenor from Charlie's interviews, so I've been wondering what the s3 story for them is and it could be this. Once Galadriel finds out he had a son that died it actually would bond them more as then that connection between them in s1 was real and they both experienced such deep loss of family. Then if she has Celebrian but in the end they're doomed anyway and she eventually leaves him and takes their daughter to Lothlorien.

This would also explain why Sauron never attacked Lothlorien or Rivendell and why Dul Guldur was right next door if his ex-wife and daughter are living there. The real Celeborn would likely be back by this point and Galadriel restarts her marriage with him and he helps raise Celebrian as her step-father similar to some of our fics, including my own "Building a Mystery". Plus there was a version of Galadriel escaping thanks to the dwarves with little Celebrian but she also had a son named Amroth that Tolkien later decided to delete. Now makes me wonder if this is where the writers got the idea to give Sauron a son too.

Then it makes me think too when Celelbrian goes to Valinor if she turns out to be Sauron/Halbrand's daughter that she actually reunites and meets her older brother that's been in Valinor since Adar killed him. That way too besides Galadriel's other family and Melian and Yavanna/Aule, Celebrian would have family there. And then when Galadriel finally goes back to Valinor at the end of LOTR she also meets Sauron/Halbrand's son and promises Sauron/Halbrand that she'll be with their children even though he can't be with them.

It just weirdly works for me and makes sense in a way I never expected. I know a lot of the purists/die-hard LOTR probably would hate these changes but I think it just adds to it and that's not just me being a Haladriel shipper. I now see their relationship as a tragic romance and it just fits with that. But also I'm really forgiving in a lot of my other fandoms for huge changes like this if it makes sense. It just a lot of the LOTR aren't since there hasn't been that many adaptations like those of public domain things like Jane Austen's books and all the "Sherlock Holmes" stories to name two. So we'll see what happens but I'm all for this.

We have been through everything together.. breakups, getting into Indy Car, causing mayhem on various nascar tracks over the years. There is nobody else I would scream the bridge to cruel summer with at 2 am other than you and Lucy. Letting you go to follow your dreams to Formula 1 is terribly hard. But I just know that you are going to do great things and break so many barriers for all the little girls who dreamed of racing in the f1 series. After two weeks of “soft launching” on social media Alice decided that it was finally time to officially announce that I was the second Red Bull driver joining Max on the f1 grid. Rather than spending the day waiting to hear and see the reactions of the announcement I decided to go exploring and shop for stuff to decorate the townhouse that Red Bull was kind of enough to set me up with so I was not living out of a hotel room. Addie was set to come into town sometime this week to help me really get settled in and do our pre-season tradition of go karting and to record the latest episode of the podcast. Years ago Addie, Lucy and I created a podcast together called Don’t Tell the Grid. For awhile it was really a secret from the grid and nobody on the Indy Car grid knew about it. About a year ago all that changed when Pato ‘OWard walked into the office space we were using to record the podcast, and Pato being Pato couldn’t help but spread the word to the rest of the grid and by the end of the Indy 500 race weekend the entire grid knew about it. Since then he has been begging to be on the podcast . With the podcast literally being called Don’t tell the Grid obviously that is going to be a hard no. Tucking my phone into my bag and grabbing the keys to the Porsche that was another thing Red Bull had kindly taken liberty to give me as I had to give up my own back in the states. First stop coffee.

hi moo! i saw a tweet about creators of online works (like fox writers, web comic artists, etc.) wanting to get feedback since it’s not very often they can go online and look for it outside of their platform so i just wanted to hop on and let you know how much i love your stuff!

you are the reason i even started reading fics! (technically it was my friend who was reading it that got me to but shh) i think i’ve actually told you the story before but it’s silly so i’ll say it again anyways! my friend was reading a lot of haikyuu stuff and i think this was before season 4 finished but like there had been a few episodes probably since you wrote about atsumu at that point but idk if you’ve read the manga so maybe i’m completely wrong about the timeline. ANYWAY, my friend had sent me a bunch of screenshots of different fics she was reading but she was telling me about this one where daichi was a bartender and him and oikawa were best friends (sound familiar?) so of course when she sent screenshots of that one i had to look for it. now at this point i had NO idea how ao3 worked and more specifically the searching (i have no idea how i managed to actually find it😭😭 i still can’t use the searching for anything but very broad stuff) but i spent HOURS typing in the same quote from that screenshot (pretty sure it was the homemade chocolate for valentine’s day scene) and narrowing down the word count to maybe like 500,000-600,000 words because she mentioned it was 500 something thousand and then with enough effort i found it!! i was so excited i read all of it in like two weeks in the middle of packing to move across the country😭😭(thinking back, definitely not the best use of my time but for the best🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️).

it’s kind of a stupid silly story, but without that amazing story i would’ve never found your work, let alone anyone else’s unless one of her silly screenshots caught my eye like that one and who knows if that would’ve happened🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ now i get so excited just thinking about what might happen next in your other stories and i’m your #1 biggest fan❤️❤️❤️

i actually started writing Open Tab shortly after Atsumu's first appearance in the manga at that training camp with Kageyama, and had to base his personality off of those tiny itty bitty scenes we got of him, so when nationals rolled around and we got to see more of him (like that he is an identical twin, wowzas what a shock) i got to see how my interpretation of him was a little off. I wrote him more as a smooth asshole when in reality he's way more prickly and childish and goofy. In my big Open Tab edit, I'm trying to subtly alter his character to better suit that without completely changing him. in fact, i originally planned Atsumu to be this kinda... antagonist type character? but then i decided that i couldn't actually make any haikyuu characters be real bad guys and i had to make him sympathetic instead. rip

After all the introductions and weird/funny monologue that Alex does it was time for the prize task , this episode it was 'sneakiest thing' and she thought it'd be funny to bring in something of his from their house just to see his reaction

James brought a dog mask with his new book 'James Acaster's guide to quitting social media' hidden behind it for publicity. This earned him 4 points

Mike Wozniak brought in a pen which he got Greg to sign a piece of paper saying "Well done for your five points", telling Greg that it was for Tseikna Engsith doing well on a test. It was then revealed that the pen Greg used was a spy pen and recorded Greg reading the sentence out loud. It was then revealed that Tseikna Engsith is an anagram of "Sneakiest thing". He received 5 points

Sarah brought in a knock knock joke with parts of the answer hidden in people's pockets: Sarah in Greg's pocket, Pinhead in Mike's pocket and Millican in Joe's pocket. She also got Alex's wife to mail her two of Alex's socks which she was wearing. She also received 4 points.

Joe brought in a fake Oxford Dictionary containing a Pearson's Mini Dictionary. He received 2 points.

Finally , Y/n brought it in a pair of trousers from his dressing room , which backfired because he knew they were missing. Earning her a single point for the idea

"Don't think you'll find it funny when you can't walk after the break because I've fucked you silly over this vanity" he said taking a stride over to her

"Is that a promise?" That was the last straw before he grabbed her hips in his hands and roughly bent her over the vanity and stared at her through the mirror as he stripped them both of their trousers

actually ascension needs its own post since that's the one with the most details to speculate over and im starved for soho talk so i will talk to myself if need be

First the cover again, because I kinda can't get over it:

my only thing is that I had been hoping we might get Lizbeth on a cover again since she's never been on one of the boxsets before, despite being the 2nd person credited on all 4 of them (even if that's just alphabetical, still, she's the only one of the four main characters who never makes the cover)

But letting that go...

I know we already kinda knew the brief for this one but damn I didn't expect it to go quite this hard. Maybe that's just because the Parasite & Ashenden covers were (comparatively) similarish to each other and I was so pleased with Unbegotten's, and then got so used to it as the placeholder for Ascension while they kept postponing it, I wasn't expecting anything this colorful or detailed or with what I can't help but register as Fun New Outfits even though these are still like, pretty damn basic as far as costumes go. Still, it's a different vibe from everyone in suits and trenchcoats on every cover, technically. (Oh the woes of being an audio fan such that two characters owning sweaters actually does qualify as new information)

On top of just being visually delightful though, I know we knew religion was gonna be a fairly big part of this one, but I didn't actually expect to get quite this much of it - though I'm glad of it for a number of reasons. The BF twitter already made the ineffable joke so I don't have to, but also yeah I did very much spend all of season 2 episode 4 of good omens half convinced Samuel Barnett & Dervla Kirwan were about to pop up around any given corner (if you will go around being gay supernatural and horrible at your messy bureaucratic jobs in midcentury soho then I'm sorry, this is where my brain's gonna go) - so, fuel to that fire. But in terms of actual important things, at least one of my Soho wishes looks to be being granted because we have a Rev Edward Folgate on the cast list, which must mean we're finally meeting Norton's father, even if his mother & brother don't appear (which they could, technically, I've definitely seen BF not list all the doublings on their cast tabs before). Religion, domesticity, and the nuclear family are all things that absolutely fascinate me when it comes to Norton's character, so getting any amount of story involving his father & his church is something I've been actively hoping for for a long time now.

(I will say I'm a tiny bit bummed Saffron Coomber isn't on the cast list to play Mia again, but I kinda figured she wasn't going to be since Greg Austin's Armitage, who's making his first recurring appearance after originating in Unbegotten, was listed ever since the boxset was announced - presumably if she was also returning, that would've been handled in the same way. But since Unbegotten ended with Lizbeth and Mia going on a date, I still held out hope. Who knows though, maybe things did go well for them and Lizbeth just has a better work/life balance than Norton so she can date someone without them getting dragged into every scifi plot. I know that's not a very common accomplishment for any Torchwood agent, but a gal can hope)

At this point I know I'm completely in the realm of speculation & even wishful thinking, but I'm really really hoping we get some more clues as to Norton's overall timeline in this one, and I have a feeling that even if there's nothing as direct as dates given, the events of a plot like this one are going to heavily influence my personal interpretation of it.

To say that life & death are major themes for the soho crew feels wildly reductive, but even by Torchwood's standards and taking into account its origins as a piece of media with Jack Harkness & his newfound immortality at the heart of it, the living/dead status of this bunch has always been fantastically up in the air to me. Obviously Ghost Mission introduced Norton as kind of a ghost before revealing more obvious ghostly characters later on to which the title might have been referring, but his being from the past did beg the question of his survival into Torchwood's present era all the same, which Outbreak later alludes to much more directly, and his habit of showing up via hologram in multiple stories only further obfuscates any certainty we might have about where & when he definitely can be said to be alive and well. Then you've got Lizbeth and Gideon both being effectively 'brought back to life' via paradoxes that prevented them ever having died in the first place. Again, they are very very far from being the only Torcwhood characters this happens to (for a sprawling EU, it's really rather impressive how often & in how many different ways Torchwood as a whole manages to circle back to being about like. chaotic undead queers at the end of every day. though I suppose that consistency is part of why I keep falling in love with its different iterations again and again). That's without even getting into the question of Norton's dubious fate in God Among Us - and I say dubious because I know some people take that to be his ultimate death, but I personally think that reading something as vague as that as having any kind of finality rather goes against the spirit of this whole world/series, not just because I want him to live. (There are obviously other ways to make him survive/reappear, but I don't see this as a River Song scenario where we can safely assume one of his earlier-released adventures had to happen at the end of his personal timeline). But wherever God Among Us falls for him, he does very much meet God in it - or at least, a god, since the sentinel in Unbegotten is also described as a god of sorts, and even if he doesn't ultimately have the status of the god Jacqueline King is playing there, Unbegotten is still full to bursting with ghosts/undead/came back wrong/echo characters to continue underscoring that life/afterlife theme.

So all things considered, even allowing for the fact that we know Norton's twin hobbies are lying about himself and abusing time travel to suit his own ends/ever-shifting alliances, I find it difficult to believe we could get through a whole 6-part boxset about religion & death without something providing some kind of compelling evidence about where this adventure fits in among his other run-ins with apocalypses and gods and ghosts and dead-but-still-here characters/creatures, so I'm very much looking forward to any further exploration on that front.

And lastly, and least intellectually, I really want to know what the hell 20th-century Torchwood's obsession with Reginalds is. Reading through the cast list, I had to do two separate doubletakes over the character 'Sir Reginald Peebles' - firstly, because I had Reginald Rigsby on the brain, this being Soho (and the other Troughton brother being so active on BF's releases for this same month) - and secondly, because reading this in conjunction with the announcement for the July monthly adventure in which the new main Torchwood guy of the 20s is apparently called Sir Reginald Dellafield, there was a brief moment where I took that monthly release to be a tie-in with Ascension. I don't expect it to be, but damn. was it really so popular a name?

anyways, catch me thinking about those stained glass windows for the next couple months I guess (and knowing Torchwood Soho, for a long long time after it comes out as well lol)

All possible disclaimers are valid! I'm not a mother tongue speaker and I'm doing this for fun. 100% accuracy is not guaranteed. Btw kind of an important announcement but? I don’t know if I’ll manage to remain consistent with the posting for the summaries (as in that it might take me a while) because exam season is getting close + I recently lost a very close family member and… yeah. William: “…Should we start with something a little bit more basic, then?”

After whispering in MC’s ear, William takes her hand and leaves the hall.

MC: “Ah…. Uhm, you don’t have to go that far….”

MC: “W-Wait….. WIlliam-“

WIlliam: “What’s wrong? Letting out such an impatient voice.”

He looks mercilessly at her as she lets out an embarrassed voice. Neatly arranged on the table nearby there are tea and sweets. In the meantime, MC’s hair and clothes are being taken care of by several maids. “This is the eccentric side of you that Brian helped bringing out. Read it as much as you like” MC wonders if he’s trying to corrupt her, and her suspicions grow when she sees the newspaper lying on the table (note: i think they’re alluding to Brian writing an article there about the social gathering? Idk).

She asks William what his duty for the day is, and he replies that he’s doing it right now: observing her. Sitting in his parlour chair while sipping tea, he asks her to put what she's feeling right now into words. “….I feel like I’m doing something bad; I’m supposed to be working but I’m not.” William simply replies that since her job is to record his sins, she’s technically doing her job: she’s with him, after all. For example, she could write about him trying to do all he can to push her into depravity. Other than the guilt for not working, MC also feels bad for having the maids work for her when she’s neither a resident of the castle nor an official guest; once more, William shuts down her worries, stating that the maids were worried about her since she never seems to ask for anything. The maids smile warmly at MC, who relaxes and thanks them. William does a signal with his hand and the maids smile, bow lightly and quickly leave the room. Apparently, they’re all deaf: they can read labial, but all Crown members communicate with them through hand movements and shapes. All the servants in the castle are like this, it means that they can keep secrets and work a dignified job despite living in London, a city full of inequality. MC is forced to reconsider once more her view on this place: although she thought it was a den of horrible criminals, from a different perspective it is not so bad after all.

William: “One maid in particular was worried about you. You don’t ask for anything and live in an unnaturally ascetic way. Why are you so hard on yourself?”

While saying this, he has moved to stand behind the sofa she’s sitting on. It’s not a problem to live like that per se, but she should be a bit more egotistical (note: he says “faithful to your desires”) while she’s staying at the castle. He stares at her with the eyes of a wolf trying to lure a lost child; simply thinking about what is actually “good” for oneself is not enough for one to know their true desires. She should find out with her own body what is good and what is bad; with her eyes, her skin, her ears… What is it that she wants, and what is it that she doesn’t want? If she doesn’t listen to her own heart she won’t be able to make important decisions when the time comes. But, MC wonders, what if listening to your own heart makes it all the more painful? Unrealised hopes and dreams make people suffer, and the more faithful you are to your own desires, the further away you are from happiness; and yet, should she still cherish the voice in her heart?

She loved her job. Witnessing all the emotions and thoughts that move people’s hearts, all poured into important letters. However, many times those feelings of hope will be trampled and turned into sadness and despair. MC has seen this many, many times; and every time she comes across such a scene she-

William: “MC.”

She has spaced out again, and she apologises. When she comes to her sense, William is staring at her, this time with loving eyes (note: the term used is meant especially for parental affection). “It is true that life is not fair. Wishes don’t come true and ideals fall apart. Those who are blessed want more and more, whereas those who aren’t are deprived of even the will to live. Sometimes, when those hopes and dreams don’t come true, it’s easier to give up on your desires completely, though you will end up becoming paralysed. Wishes need to be fed, they need calories; the amount of heat a person who has nothing… will be consumed simply by living in this unforgiving reality. Then, freedom will wither away.” For a moment, it feels like his eyes darken with sadness, but MC cannot tell if that is simply her imagination. Next thing she knows, he’s staring at her with e fierce gaze. “There is no guarantee that you will be happy even if you listen to your inner voice. There is no correct answer to this question, robin. This is just my self-righteous opinion, feel free to ignore it. You are your own master: you decide what you can or cannot do. You're the only one who can listen to your heart and turn it into a voice, MC. That alone… is the unwavering truth.” William’s voice, a little more serious than usual, unexpectedly strikes the strings deep in the girl’s heart. The strings trembled for a while still, just like the keys of a piano being hit; the sound lingers for a while.

William: “Tomorrow I have a mission. It seems like it will be a hard one. We will meet at 15:00 in the entrance hall. Whether to come or not is entirely up to you.”

You haven't seen the movie and I am glad you didn't. It was... well... I'm just wondering if there's gonna be the second movie, without DoB, do you think we'll get anything good? Jeff said there was a scene, which didn't make it, where Lydia picks up phone to call someone and the camera shows Stiles' name on it, I just... This gives me too much hope, right? how can one trust Jeff Davis after pre-season 4 interviews and pre-movie interviews...

Everything I’ve heard about the movie has made me even more glad I didn’t see it too. So, I’m sorry to say it, but no, I don’t hold out hope for any quality Stydia in future films. Without Stiles we are missing half of our OTP – and the beating heart of Teen Wolf. There, I said it. Not taking it back. The show is lifeless without Dylan O'Brien.

As far as Jeff Davis’s comments… After all this time, I’ve learned not to put much stock into what he says. He's notorious for tossing fans breadcrumbs—and then, not delivering the goods. I’ve lost track of how many times he has teased cut scenes over the years. Remember how there was supposed to be a Stydia love scene in 6x10?

The fact that he even mentioned this new cut scene is suspicious. Why not just SHOW IT? He literally has the power to decide what stays and what goes. I don’t believe it has anything to do with time or expense. Like most Stydia scenes, it couldn’t have been more than a few seconds, which is a drop in the ocean in an almost 2.5-hour movie. And what TW saved on their lighting budget over the years surely could have been put into a Stydia Savings Account to fund the filming of a ten-second scene.

You're right to be cautious. I don’t trust JD either. I mean, there were other ways to explain Stiles’s absence—but he chose the version where Lydia leaves him, and frankly, it feels cruel. Sure, there were worse options (which we will not discuss) but still… Why break up the only couple that no one actually got to see as a couple? Again, show, don’t tell. Jeff claims to love Stydia, but he had a similar opportunity to work around Dylan’s absence (i.e. ALL of 6b) and he did the bare minimum, for the most part choosing to ignore Stydia at every turn. Obviously, Dylan couldn’t be there, but that didn’t mean Stiles couldn’t be. What about texts, emails, photos? And Dylan was in the finale that does not exist. But where was the Stydia we waited for? Hardly any eye contact, a brief hand hold, and (thankfully) the two of them getting out of the Jeep together at the end. More breadcrumbs...

All things considered, it’s actually a miracle we got the Stydia we did over six years. And that is in huge part thanks to Dylan O’Brien and Holland Roden. The way they understood and played these characters, the way they (especially Dylan) fought for Stydia was commendable and unforgettable. I’m more than happy to keep what they gave us close to my heart, to keep insisting that 6x10 was the finale, and to bolt for the nearest exit next time a movie date is announced.

the dsmp finale jokes and ha-has yesterday were great and all but the more i think about it is the angrier I get about this whole situation overall. It's fucking infuriating, and not just because the final lore stream was shitty. The reason why also pisses me the fuck off.

The c!tommy/c!tubbo finale was not a finale. It was a shitty attempt at segueing the current dsmp lore into Volume 2, which at best is the streaming equivalent of a cash-grab sequel, and at worst, an active ploy to ignore cc!dream's grooming allegations and go on with the server as if nothing ever happened.

c!tommy's story would not have ended in abuse apologism if they hadn't intended to do the second volume of the dsmp. Which not only means that the content creators involved with the finale (tommy, tubbo, dream, et cetera) had sacrificed a respectable ending to a story with heavy subjects and themes of abuse and suicide, they had also sacrificed it just so that they could move on to a new era in the hopes of raking in more dsmp views.

That alone is gross and unsavory, but what's even more despicable is the fact that right alongside the lore streams they were doing, thousands of fans had trended for days about cc!dream's grooming allegations and all of that had been outright ignored. And then they were spit in the face with the dsmp finale, which ended with a canonical abuse victim forgiving his abuser for no fucking reason and the announcement that tommy and tubbo were indeed staying for the next volume of the dsmp.

You know. The groomer's server.

You know what's also really fucking weird? the fact that not even an hour before that godforsaken lore stream, tommy had been ranting in twitch chat about how irredeemable c!dream was. This makes the ending even more disgusting because tommy literally fucking KNEW that there were themes surrounding his character's story that were serious and heavy and he still went along with it just so that he could get his stupid ass season 2 on that stupid ass groomer's dying server. I am immeasurably disgusted by this.

I know there are people who are insisting that the story Tommy had intended for c!tommy must have been changed by dream, or at the very least, had been edited from its original concept by dream. due to the absolute whiplash that was tommy's statements before stream and what actually happened in stream, i had been inclined to believe that as well. But even if the horrific lore stream was the result of cc!dream meddling with the intended finale, tommy still did the finale. He was still the one who had the gall to end a well-loved story with the abused character forgiving his abuser. He was the one to say "I'm sorry" to c!dream while acting in character, not cc!dream.

Genuinely, unless cc!dream decided to go on an irl villain arc and hold tommy's family hostage unless he went along with the minecraft roleplay finale, there really is no justification for this. Especially since Tommy does plan to continue streaming on the server after this. And apparently, tommy also plans to stay silent and ignore the fact that the motherfucker he's streaming with is neck deep in abuse and grooming allegations. Not to mention every other fucked up thing dream has done with his platform. There's no feasible way for tommy to explain how he could ignore thousands of people criticizing him specifically for doing lore in the middle of a four day long mass callout against an alleged groomer. There's just no possible way he didn't catch wind of that.

And I mean, I know every other cc that has decided to associate with dream during this finale and in other content involving dream are also at fault for sweeping the allegations under the rug, but tommy in particular has managed to be egregiously ignorant of the entire situation. It's so disappointing to see him be this abrasively supportive of dream by streaming with him for 4 days straight and then ending one of the most important series of his entire career with abuse apologism and a chipper little "Can't wait for season 2!!!!! :))" in the midst of tidal waves of criticism for helping maintain a groomer's platform. Like fuck you, dude.

It's just sooo. Yeah. I know i've been saying over and Over that i am incredibly disappointed by tommy's behavior; honestly, I probably sound like a broken record. But it just feels so upsetting that a year and a half of my life was spent supporting a cc who is choosing to actively fan the flame of this fucking dumpster fire. It hurts to be ignored this abrasively when all we're doing is trying to get justice for a grooming victim. It hurts to feel like i have to work against him just to have the voices of grooming victims be heard in this hellhole of a fandom.

Ok, time for some thoughts regarding yesterday's Nintendo Direct!

Pikmin 4: Nothing too revolutionary, just taking the Pikmin formula and refining/expanding it, like Pikmin 2 and 3 did before it. And honestly, that's not a bad thing! I love the Pikmin games, they're really fun and charming and this one seems to continue that trend. It seems we're getting all the existing Pikmin types in addition to the new Ice Pikmin so that'll be cool. And the new doggo is adorable! I'm really looking forward to this one.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective: This is a game that I always wanted to play and never got to do it, so I'm glad to see it ported to the Switch! Maybe this will be the time I actually play it.

Sea of Stars: Absolutely gorgeous and looks really fun as well, taking inspiration from one of my favorite games ever. Apparently it got a demo so I'll probably give that a try. I still need to play The Messenger though...

Game Boy and Game Boy Advance added to Nintendo Switch Online: Finally! And now I actually have the Expansion Pack thanks to a friend so I can get hyped about GBA too. The libraries are a bit limited for the time being but that's to be expected. Looking forward to replaying some of my favorites from that era and also try a few classics for the first time. Although the games I'm most hyped about are the ones that were confirmed to come in the future, like Oracle of Seasons/Ages, Pokémon TCG, Metroid Fusion and of course freaking GOLDEN SUN (yes, I'm ready to replay it for the millionth time).

Metroid Prime Remastered: Okay, I wasn't expecting this one, even though it had been rumored for a while. While I would've liked to see the entire trilogy in one package, the first Prime is arguably the best one and also one of the best games ever made. The remake looks amazing and much more polished than just a simple HD port. Seriously, if you haven't played this game before, give it a try, it's a masterpiece, and this is coming from someone who hates shooters (Metroid Prime isn't really a shooter).

Baten Kaitos I & II Remaster: HOLY SHIT. Another one (two?) that I always wanted to play but didn't get when it first came out before it became impossible to find, and never bothered with trying to emulate. I'd love to give the series a chance on modern hardware.

Professor Layton And The New World of Steam: HOOOOOO BOY!!! This might seriously be my favorite announcement of the Direct, even though they didn't really show us anything! I was a HUGE Layton fan during the DS era and I was so sad that the series kinda just died all of a sudden. I'm honestly so fucking hyped for this! Please be good, please be good, please be good!

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC Wave 4: The new track looks amazing! Yoshi's Island was one of the defining games from my childhood so this gets me extremely nostalgic. Also Birdo was a nice surprise! I wasn't expecting characters in the pass! While I don't really care about Birdo in particular, this opens the door for more characters so maybe this means I can finally have my boy Diddy Kong again. Please. It's been so long.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom: Honestly I don't have a lot to say about this one. Am I hyped? Absolutely. But we still know so little about this game! What's the story about? How does it differ from BotW? Although, part of me kinda wishes it stays this way. Trailers tend to spoil too much stuff these days, so I'm fine with keeping the surprises for when I actually play the game. Oh, and it's a minor thing, but I hope they bring back Wolf Link and/or a similar mechanic (and not locked to amiibo this time). I just loved exploring Hyrule with a doggo.

Overall a really exciting Direct, and there were also a bunch of other cool announcements that I didn't touch here. Now to work on my backlog so I can play shiny new games without feeling guilty, lol.

Fellowship of Fans was back today after a short break with their biggest spoiler they've gotten yet for season 2 and it's all about Calam Lynch's character!!! :D Like always posting behind a cut since it's a huge spoiler but for fellow "Bridgerton" fans it also likely means since his role is a major LOTR book character he likely won't be on the show after season 3 as he'll be busy with this till it ends with season 5. Also still linking to FOF's Twitter but there have been changes with Twitter that most tweets only users can see but they've posted this on their actual website and Instagram too.

It seems that those fans who speculated when Calam's casting was announced that he was Celeborn were correct!!! :D FOF has gotten confirmation and that he had a chemistry test with Morfydd as part of his audition. They also said that he will have a long, silver wig and his costume colors are a mix of dark blue, silver, and gold. There's speculation too that he might've filmed flashbacks as well as present day scenes to explain where he's been this whole time.

However like I noticed and others did he is not a series regular for season 2 and he only filmed in 2 blocks last fall and then right before filming wrapped in May/June as he had a play he did in London. His status likely will change from recurring to regular for seasons 3-5 but him being recurring and not filming that much likely also means he won't be in that much of season 2 which does make sense since we've already gotten confirmation that season 2 will be a Sauron centric season with most of the story and flashbacks centered on him. But curious how this will play out and if Sauron has had him or more likely that Adar has had Celeborn this whole time.

I'm also a bit surprised as this seemed to be the easiest to guess as Calam does look a lot like Marton Csokas who played Celeborn in the LOTR movies and a lot of us thought they would cast someone who looks different to change things up. I'll admit I thought Celeborn's casting would be kept secret till the end of season 2 to be a major cliffhanger to set up season 3 and that he'd actually be someone more like Sam Heughan or Luke Bracey as I kept picturing him as being blonde haired and blue eyed. And with how young Calam looks, which isn't his fault. LOL But he is also younger than both Morfydd and Charlie.

Also we knew he'd be coming so I'm very curious how this will all play out for the rest of the series. I'm still certain Celebrían hasn't been born yet and it'll happen likely in season 3 or 4 and then they'll do a major time jump so it won't be that weird for her and Elrond's romance to start. Plus, I'm a Haladriel shipper too and I'm hoping the way the writer Celeborn that most of us and the general audience will like him. The chemistry between Morfydd's Galadriel and Charlie's Halbrand/Sauron pretty much set a high bar for the writers and cast to achieve and I really want to like and be torn between who I want Galadriel to be with. That's how a good love triangle should be.

And yes I do think there will be a love triangle. They're not going to change whatever they had planned between Galadriel and Halbrand/Sauron and it does fit with how they are intwined for centuries after these events of the show till the books/movies end. Plus there's a chance this might be a love pentagon as from FOF's earlier spoilers last month that Amelia Kenworthy's unnamed character has a past with Halbrand/Sauron and seems to be now aligned with Adar.

So we have the key players here and I'm excited to see how this plays out, and again I'm a fan of Calam's and excited for him getting this role.

(major spoilers through book 4 of Wheel of Time and the latest episode)

My only problem with Suian's stance in 2x07 is that it's now the one the Tower has always believed, and the reason that why what Moiraine and Siuan were doing would be considered treasonous - the Tower wanted to keep Rand under lock and key until the Last Battle while they believed that he had to be allowed to roam free and fulfill the Prophecies in order to actually be READY for the last battle.

It makes a ton of sense that Siuan is panicking about the likelihood of their plan succeeding in the light of the news she's just received - two of the strongest Forsaken are walking again (she doesn't even know yet that one had struck up a relationship with Rand!), Rand has been left to wander on his own, and Moiraine no longer has access to the One Power and any way to reasonably control him. They do need to recoup and come up with a new plan of attack (something Moiraine has been staunchly pretending is not necessary) or else they could end up being responsible for losing the Last Battle. That's a lot of pressure!

HOWEVER - her now believing that the Tower's way is the right way feels like too much of a swing in the other direction, especially given that Suian's knowledge of the Dragon Reborn and her approach to containing him is a large part (I'm pretty sure, anyway) of why she later ends up deposed. With this twist in Suian's beliefs now, how are they going to pull off the coup in season 3?

Anyway, instead of immediately crying "character assassination!" here are some thoughts about how this could still work:

1) Suian's been Compelled - I've seen this theory raised and think it holds merit, despite some people thinking it would weaken the appearance of the Aes Sedai's competence (spoiler alert: they're not competent). Most people seem to think Liandrin's the one who's done it which makes sense given her past with Compulsion, but I propose someone else: there's at least one other Black Sister in the Aes Sedai contingent who was shown on screen several times. It's possible that Liandrin was told (by Lanfear) to deal with Moiraine while Joiya was told to work on Suian.

2) Suian has just spent some time in Caemlyn with a sister who a) holds the belief that Rand should be caged, b) has the Talent of Foretelling, and c) will be raised Amyrlin in her place. What if Siuan witnessed the Foretelling Elaida has that convinces her she must keep Rand close? Or knowledge of one of Elaida's Foretellings (misinterpreted, of course) combined with Moiraine's mishandling of Rand could convince Siuan to try another way.

Since their life's work started because of a Foretelling they overheard, it would be interesting if a different Foretelling puts them at odds.

3) Suian is just purely convinced (either by a Black Sister or one of the many others who end up on Elaida's side of schism without being Dark) that a different approach is needed and bringing Rand to the Tower would give her the time she needs to think of a different solution (though planning to have Rand announce himself in Cairhien means she seems to think the Prophecies can be circumvented - or perhaps she just hopes they can?) We saw in the latest ep that Suian believes her grasp on the Tower and the sisters is much stronger than it actually is.

Regardless of reason, I think it's possible that after Rand does declare himself in Falme, both fulfilling the prophecy, showing off his power, driving the Seanchan into the sea, and hopefully allowing some captured sisters to return to Tar Valon that Suian realises that she was wrong and proclaims it to the Hall.

At this point (since we know it serves the Dark to have an Amyrlin who wants Rand caged) the machinations for her deposition could be put into place and the coup proceeds as it does in the books.
