Back in SU, I remember everyone always celebrated what a caring and supportive dad Greg was, and how the Gems grew close family relationships with Steven. But with these latest episodes it seems like people are turning on them. Particularly that Greg is an incompetent and irresponsible father after Mr. Universe and the Gems handled the conversation really badly in Fragments, showing that they still don’t understand human emotions (also that it’s their fault Steven has PTSD). (1/2)
Personally it makes me sad. I still love all four of them and have faith in them as Steven’s support circle. I think everybody’s just looking for someone to blame (like it’s a game, like it’s a game...). What’s your take?
My take is that I take offense on a personal level whenever anyone (including Steven) acts like Greg was a bad or unfit parent.
My biological mother was terribly abusive to me. My father was emotionally neglectful, and while my stepmother was better than him, she still contributed to the emotional abuse that I’ve just now in my adult years begun accepting that he put me through. I’ve never had a parent that was emotionally available, supportive, and openly loving unconditionally. I’ve never had parents who encouraged whatever I wanted to do, who I could go to when I needed them without fear of punishment of some kind.
So put simply, I would have killed for a parent like Greg Universe. Hell, I still would now. Greg was always there for Steven, no matter what. Steven needed someone who would be open and honest with him with no reservations? That was Greg. Steven needed someone to just chill with, eat pizza and play music with? That was Greg. Steven needed someone to make him feel like he was good enough even when he made mistakes (“if every pork chop were perfect . . .”)? That was Greg. Steven needed someone to drop everything to take him halfway around the world to investigate the place in his dreams? That was Greg, and Greg didn’t even get upset with Steven for that resulting in his own abduction into a human fucking zoo.
For all sixteen years of his life, Greg gave Steven unconditional love and support. For all that Steven has a tendency to take blame upon himself, that tendency cannot be passed onto Greg, because Greg never berated Steven or went off on him for the things he did wrong. Hell, Greg went out of his way to try to make sure that Steven didn’t feel bad for the things that happened, most of the time; when Greg had a panic attack about the attack with the hand ship, and everything that followed, he drove away after reassuring Steven until he could calm himself down enough to talk about it! No matter what Steven did, no matter what went wrong, he had assurance that he could bring it to Greg because Greg wouldn’t grow angry with him. Because Greg loved him, unconditionally. Because Greg always wanted to spend time with him, always thought he was cool, always thought his ideas were interesting. Greg was emotionally available, openly loving and supportive, 100% of the time in Steven’s life.
Does this mean that Greg is perfect, and didn’t make mistakes? No! But here’s a news flash: There is NO SUCH THING as a perfect parent, because there is NO SUCH THING as a perfect person, and parents are people. People make mistakes. Period. There is not a single person on this Earth who has never made a mistake, particularly when it comes to interacting with other people. I know a lot of people on this website (and on Twitter) don’t like accepting that, but it’s true. And as it’s true, Greg did make mistakes. Play acting like his leg wasn’t really broken to try to spend more time with Steven was a mistake (and was the one time Greg made Steven feel as if his powers weren’t up to snuff / not good enough). Arguably not enrolling him in school was a mistake, although given how Steven behaved like he was eight when he was fourteen, I think he probably would have been bullied mercilessly by most peers his age and so that was probably a good call on Greg’s part. Not taking him to the doctor wasn’t a mistake, if only because Steven is half-gem and thus a.) probably didn’t get sick and/or need vaccinations the way a full human would, and b.) Greg had no idea how much of Steven’s biology was gem and how much was human, and probably didn’t want to run the risk of having him taken away by government officials to be experimented on given that he was half-alien. Even so, I understand why humans balk at that. They see Steven as a fully human child, even though he absolutely is not.
The point is: Yes, Greg made mistakes sometimes. But Greg was loving and supportive and always made sure Steven was provided for. Steven complains that he lived in a van, but we know for a fact that once he was old enough to form memories, he actually lived in a beautiful house on the beach. Greg lived in a van, but always nearby enough so that he could be there if Steven needed him (without stepping on the toes of Pearl, with whom he didn’t have a good relationship given the whole Rose debacle). Even though Greg wasn’t in the house, he knew the Gems would be able to look after Steven. He made sure that Steven was as safe as he could be, given that the threat of war with Steven at the center was always on the horizon, and provided for in every way (shelter, food, love, support). Setting aside Steven’s complex over his gem powers and his demands to be a Crystal Gem (which, let’s be honest, had Greg forced Steven to go to school, Steven would have been angry that it took away from his chances at gem missions, and you know he would, if you remember how bratty he was about it at the start of the series), Steven had pretty high self-esteem for a kid of fourteen, in that he never felt embarrassed or awkward about the things he liked or how he presented himself at all. And who do we have to thank for that, do you think?
I’ve had parents who were abusive or neglectful. I’ve been dragged by my hair and thrown into walls. I’ve been near hospitalized for being underweight because there was so little food. I’ve been told I was lazy and making up bullshit excuses when I tried to explain how depressed I was, and then put under lockdown an entire summer for it. I’ve had my interests criticized and mocked by my parents, I’ve been shooed away when I’ve tried to talk to them, I’ve been belittled and demoralized and I’ve put myself through stomach ulcers and breakdowns trying to find any solution to problems I have before I have to go to them, because I don’t want more lectures and have it brought up again and again years later. I know what it is to have abusive, neglectful, and all around bad parents---parents who will do all of the above, and then still find a way to say that it was either my fault, or good for me somehow. And Greg Universe? Is not that type of parent. At all. Not even close.
So basically, my take is that people who want to condemn Greg can shut the fuck up, at least when they’re around me. My take is that even though Steven has PTSD and is going through a lot, him screaming at Greg that it’s Greg’s fault that he’s like this for loving and supporting him all these years was him acting like a spoiled, ungrateful brat. Because I would have given anything to have a parent like Greg Universe. As someone with C-PTSD from childhood trauma and abuse, I’d trade spots with Steven any fucking day. And trust me, he wouldn’t like it.
#long post for ts#steven universe spoilers#greg universe#no i'm not open for criticism on this viewpoint#you won't change my mind#didn't touch on the gems but imo saying his PTSD is their fault is not entirely fair#they didn't MAKE Peridot rat them out to Homeworld#they didn't MAKE Jasper pull all that bullshit#and so on#the Gem War gave Steven PTSD#and yes it was a war that started before he was born that they fought in#but that doesn't make it exactly their fault#not really anyway#orasforlife

Examples of problematic writing:
JK Rowling. “House Elves” that enjoy being slaves. Unintuitive “house” system that places all the villains in one place for easier (read: lazy) management (thank you to sluggy freelance for that phrasing). House system also places all the heroes in one house. You know, except for that one. The abusive teacher was really soft-hearted all along--never mind all the people he hurt--and was rewarded at the end of the series for his behavior. Etc. etc. etc.
Joss Whedon. As much as I love Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog, it strongly implied that the “Nice Guy” should have gotten the girl and while Whedon attempted to subvert this, the intent was clear. Then again in Firefly, when Zoe was a strong female character in that she was literally strong. Writer also made an attempt to subvert this by making her tender with her husband. Other than that, she had no backstory. If you don’t believe me, look up her character info. It’s comprised of: War, Join Smuggler Crew, Married, Now Having Baby.
Tim Kring. I don’t know if anyone on tumblr remembers the TV show Heroes, which was literally destroyed by bad writing. First season? Epic. Memorable. Second season? Bogged down by making the strongest female characters accessories to male protagonists. Erasing their character arcs for romantic pining. Villianizing and killing off a major character for no reason other than shock value. Sidelining the plot of an Asian character in favor of lily-white romance that no one fucking wanted and HIRO’S STORYLINE WAS NEVER FUCKING RESOLVED OMG. Also, the two Latino characters that abruptly disappeared and never returned again.
J.J. Abrams. LOST was mostly progressive in terms of giving strong, enduring roles to women and non-conventional characters like Hurley, a fat character who wasn’t just there for comedic relief. But the show had a HUGE problem with either making characters of color into a “mystic” type or just killing them off early and often. To be fair, LOST shock-value-killed a LOT of its cast, but Abrams really liked going after black and latine characters.
Examples of resolvable problematic elements in storytelling:
Steven Universe. I’ll be honest, I started this post with SU in mind. Rose/Pink Diamond is a problematic character who does problematic things. I recently saw the Human Zoo mentioned. The Human Zoo is not meant to be a good thing. It’s meant to show a flawed decision by a character, not the writer. I have also seen posts stating that the occupants of the human zoo are an example of racism by the writers. The opposite is true; had PD taken humans from every available culture on earth to her zoo, they would, according to various research, become darker-skinned and more homogenized with time. Especially over the course of thousands of years.
Battlestar Galactica. The racism between human and cylon is a driving force behind the plot, and not put there simply because ‘eh, racism happens.’ The payoff is spectacular and morbid. Because of racism, both species have destroyed themselves and it’s only be realizing this and ultimately working together that both species are saved. (of note, the BSG reboot has some of the best storytelling I’ve ever seen. Watch it if you haven’t.) BSG also has its severe problems, like a near lily-white cast, and any characters of color tend to “go evil.” (IE: the Eights, Gaeta, Tory)
Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Remember the episode when Terry was racially profiled? Remember how hard Holt had to work to achieve the rank of Captain? Remember the episode where Jake punched a writer who used derogatory terms re: Holt being gay? Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a great example of problematic storylines that are resolved. Unfortunately, its episodes are encapsulated into 30-minute segments where everything is solved by the end of most episodes. However, look at B99 and imagine those storylines projected into a longer timeframe to understand what I was talking about in a previous post.
Anyway, there’s a few examples of what I’m talking about, to hopefully help differentiate between problematic writing and resolvable plot tensions.

Possible Theory (SU)...”Pink was shattered”. She was NOT!
I am sure everyone has heard this time and time again. I am taking it to a different direction. And I will put in my two cents and what evidence got my attention. WARNING THERE WILL BE SPOILERS!
-------------
The theories are that Pink is indeed alive and was not shattered. However, everyone was fooled into thinking it happened. Even Pearl and Garnet. I think what happened was that yes, the blade was used, but to cut through Pink’s form, poof her, quickly bubble her while everyone was distracted by a cloud of “poof smoke” and sent her somewhere where NO ONE would find her. When it all settled down, the ones who saw the aftermath saw she was gone, thus they thought Pink was shattered. (In short, Garnet’s side of the story is BUNK COCKADOODLE PICKLE!)
Also along with these theories....Pink Diamond wasn’t even a cruel ruler. But a smaller diamond trying to impress her bigger counterparts. (but honestly I think everyone notices that. If no one did I will explain this too.) And how did Rose get so close to Pink Diamond? A classic case of stubborn behavior and inexperience in such a high ranking position.
--------------
Possible Evidence- In this case I will break down parts of the story and how it counteracts with certain things we have learned from the show.
Let’s start with Rose Quartz. She did carry out her duties under Pink Diamond until she began to notice the world around her. She fell in love with the planet. She became compassionate which is not a usual characteristic. She also wanted to share her new found love and compassion with other gems, including Pink Diamond.
We all were told she was sweet from the very beginning MANY times, starting with season one. However....her shattering Pink Diamond completely contradicts her nature as a character who, although a soldier, had a gentler side. Her sword can’t even shatter a gem. It can only cut through the form, causing them to revert to their gem state.
YET IN THE STORY Garnet claims that Rose Shattered Pink with this sword.
Bismuth was the one who said that it cannot shatter.
youtube
The only thing Bismuth created that could break the gem is the breaking point. And as we learned, Rose didn’t use it. She REFUSED TO USE IT and in the end had to bubble Bismuth due to conflicting views along with a possible fight. If Rose refused to use the breaking point, how could she have shattered Pink? Simple answer, SHE COULDN’T. Even if she wanted to.
---------
When Garnet brings up that Pink Diamond was a coward for calling upon the other Diamonds for help, it either was an exaggeration or misunderstanding. Because as we learned from Jungle Moon, she wasn’t exactly what I would call a Tyrant.....more like...a bratty child.
youtube
In the PD flashback, it is revealed that Pink was like a child that wanted to do what the adults were doing. She was immature, small, and had little to no experience or knowledge of how to run a colony. One could even say she was flawed in her own way (but that is a theory for another time). In regards of her being “a coward...
Consider this. She wasn’t being a coward here. She didn’t know how to handle such a situation. She was literally asking for help out of inexperience like A CHILD who messed up (or a person who suddenly moved into a higher position without certain types or training). Though the diamonds came to her aid to a degree, it wasn’t enough. The rebellion was something that even they were not prepared for.
-----------------------
As a side note: What also convinces me of Pink not being completely heartless, yet showed her childish side/somewhat swayed side was the human zoo. For someone who didn’t care about organic life and preserving it, she took an unusual fascination with the human race and taking care of them. Many say they were just prisoners or a way to mock the Crystal Gems for what they were protecting, but if this were the case...why does it still exist? In everyone’s mind the war is over? Preserving a memory doesn’t seem like a reason to continue caring for humans...They were too well taken care of and Blue even made sure the gems in charge them, made sure they were well fed and never experience so much as scratch. It just seemed strange to me that even after Pink’s death, Blue continued to make sure they cared for....(I would like to hear thoughts on this)
------------------------
In Garnet’s flash backs, Pink is always seen as a giant character, yet in the very beginning it shows a contradiction. And if you remember Pink’s size in comparison to Yellow in the dream sequence in the Episode Jungle Moon (which I show here as well) Pink is actually only a little bit taller than Stevonnie. Why she is depicted as big is anyone’s guess..I mean...
I can see detail being exaggerated due to never truly encountering Pink like Rose had. That Garnet is going by the size of Blue in her mind. This could be understandable since Pink was rarely seen. As for the contradiction...
PINK WAS TEENY EVEN HERE! So..what? Garnet, do you see her as small or same size as Blue and Yellow? This was very confusing. I digress though. Moving on...
--------------
Now we enter the most interesting part of the story. “Rose Shattering Pink Diamond.”
Now....Zircon in the trial did a great job breaking it down. I will put that here as a refresher.
youtube
For once...I don’t agree with these Diamonds being the culprits. At least for this theory. Let’s say Pink Diamond’s court was there and saw the whole thing. Rose did get passed them. Why didn’t they do anything? Again, this could be due to Pink Diamond’s stubborn behavior and her pride as a Diamond. Possibly, to prove that she was as strong of a leader as the rest of the Diamond Court. She told the others NOT to stop Rose and to allow her to take care of the problem that is the rebel soldier. Pink possibly didn’t expect the frontal attack or expect her form to be broken. As soon as it was...I imagine it looked similar to this..
If the poof was big enough, Rose would have had time to bubble PD and teleport her somewhere else. This would explain how there were so many witnesses who saw Rose using the sword. Not to mention why no one came to her aid. She ordered them not to. The witnesses thought it was shattering they saw, but it was all out of confusion and shock in the moment. They were convinced of what they saw was a diamond shattering.
--------------------------
I also have one more thing. In Your Mother and Mine, when Steven brings up that he is seeing through Pink Diamond’s eyes in a dream (from Jungle Moon), he feels that she is still out there. Garnet dismisses this and tells him that Pink is gone. I don’t know whether she honestly believes that or if, like many times before, is trying to protect him from the truth. We don’t know what she saw that day if anything. What we do know is that Pearl knows something, but can’t. I don’t think, because of White Diamond forcing Silence. I think it is to keep her promise to Rose of not revealing anything to Steven or any others. Again. Another theory for another time...
Point here is the gems have lied and held information from him. They also don’t know a lot about Rose. At this point, it could go either way.
One last note...
How can you have empathetic powers if someone is considered dead? Last I checked, Steven is not a medium...think on that.
--------------------------
If you have anything to add or debunk in here, I would love to hear what you have to say. Disclaimer: It is only a theory and not fact. Don’t take it seriously. I am only showing what I am seeing. Thank you for reading.

Crystal Musings: Now that I’ve seen ‘I am My Mom’, the last episode of Season 4 of Steven Universe, there is only one MAJOR thought running through my mind....
The Gems may no longer have the newer model Ruby ship to take them to Home World. However...they’re forgetting that there is another Homeworld ship on Earth.
The old Homeworld ship. And with everything that happened in this final episode, y’know what this could mean for next season, right?
Centipeedle might be coming back in S5!
///Warning: SPOILERS AHEAD///
So we all know that Steven left with Topaz (the mute brute) and Aquamarine (the lil blue bitch that I surprisingly like) back to Homeworld. The Gems need to go after them however they don’t have a ship anymore because Navy stole back the Ruby ship. But there is a gem on Earth that we, as the fans know, who does have a ship still.
My hunch is that our beloved Centipeedle will make her grand return next season and with the help of her crew, the Crystal Gems will find some a way to get the old spacecraft back online (probably with Peridot and Pearl’s combined knowledge) and pilot it to Homeworld to rescue Steven and Lars.
I mean, this hunch would make more sense if Centipeedle had been healed entirely but...it’s a thought. I really would love to see Centipeedle return and be a part of the team. Something tells me that the next season of SU will take place on Homeworld. Maybe we’ll finally get to see what Homeworld looks like in the next season.
All in all, I’m really hoping that S5 means the return of Centipeedle. I know Steven didn’t get a chance to heal her in her mind through his ability to enter people’s minds and stuff. However what if...and this may be a stretch but...what if all the time Centipeedle spent after being reunited with her crew helped to heal her in some way. After all, I think it was Garnet who sent that corruption is that of the mind more than the body. When Centipeedle was first healed and was regaining her memories with Steven’s help, she was basically fine up until the point when she remembered her crew.
Maybe it was the thought that she had lost her crew----her family and friends---that caused Centi to start to change back into a corrupted gem monster. Steven had already helped her out by using his healing spit to repair her gem and that helped her to regain her body. Maybe...being reunited with her crew will be the final step towards Centi healing her mind and thus regaining her true form?
What if....possibly, now that Centi is with her crew, she’s healed and might return next season to surprise everyone as her true self?
Again, this is a VERY long shot. But...how else are the Gems going to get to Homeworld? As far as we know, the Centipeedle ship is what they have and they’ve shown the ship so much throughout the series that I doubt they’ll just not use it again. Plus and I cannot stress this enough, I REALLY want Centipeedle to come back and be a main character next season. I don’t care how the Crewniverse does it but I really want to see her join the cast.
She has to. She HAS A SHIP!
Man I am hyped for Season 5 now! Really hyped, anyways, I just wanted to share this quick thought after watching the S4 finale.
Also as a sidenote, since Lars got taken to Homeworld with Steven too, I hope at some point Lars gets tossed in Blue Diamond’s Human Zoo and has a taste of the whole ‘choosening’ ceremony. Why? Because I’m hoping that an experience like that would FINALLY get this boy to realise his true feelings for Sadie. Goddamit! My fellow LARSADIE shippers, we’re almost there, guys. We almost got an ‘I love you!’ in the Good Lars. But the fact that he heavily implied it....ahhh this ship man!
It would also be interesting if Lars, of all people, would be the one to teach the humans of the Zoo about the true meaning of love and what it would be like to truly fall in love with someone. They started something with Greg but, I think it would be great character development for Lars if he not only comes to terms with his feelings (and might actually be able to say the words ‘I love Sadie’ out loud in public for once) but he’s also able to provide proper advice on it. After all, while Greg was great, if anyone has gone through a true romantic journey in SU, it’s freaking Lars.
Also, how badass would it be to have a LARSADIE reunion on Homeworld? Think about it? Like I’m hoping that Sadie agrees to join the Gems on their Homeworld quest to go help save Lars. I really hope. It would be a wasted opportunity if they didn’t do that. I’m just saying.
Anyways, enough jibber jab. Those are my thoughts. Really can’t wait for S5!

Hey I saw your tags, & I was just wondering what is racist in su & gf? I'm just genuinely curious!
Well first of all sorry about the late reply i've been pretty busy! Second of all this might be a pointless reply, considering these fandoms, but fuck it. Stevies university and its fandom loves to preach itself as being diverse and woke yet does the same stuff that other fandoms do. Remember when Garnet or Amethyst got an arc for themselves? Me neither. Literally they're both "fusion" and the "fat friend" at this point. Both get little to no development for themselves which becomes ridiculous when theres been an interesting amount of focus and detail concerning Pearl. The Sardonyx arc, you know the arc which should have shown that Garnet is allowed to show that she can be vulnerable and that hurting others has consequences, was established as a Pearl arc. Literally it focused on the one that caused said problem instead of the one that got hurt when it shouldve focused on both atleast. Its also interesting how Garnet was stoic and silent when she was Darker in season 1 yet after her immediate regeneration in the end of the season she becomes lighter and more open. It probably wasnt intentional, considering Garnet got some growth by the season to become more open since Stevie met her halves, but its a tiring trope or "Stoic black woman finally gets to have a personality out of being serious and strong" which lasted a season. By season 3 shes literally the fusion friend. Aka the only episodes where she gets some focus are concerning fusion, which isnt wrong considering she is one, but it gets ridiculous not giving her anything else to work for. Amethyst was used as a "self hate" trope, which was great initially however it got repetitive and nothing was truly done. Remember season 3 when Amethyst was like "i hate myself thx Jasper" and Stevie was like "i hate myself too ok" and had a episode dedicated to it. It didnt seem necessary to have a competition on who hates themselves more when they could've, oh i dont know, learn and show compassion to one another as well as understanding each others. While it isnt exactly racism, i just dislike how the emotions in this show is just cry cry and we never mention it ever again. "Bismuth" was a display of "angry black woman' considering Bismuth wanted to kill a dictator and Stevie was like "b-hut th' hat'll make us just as bad l1ke them!!!1" and then Bismuth got poofed for wanting to kill dictators cause she was black and mean :// i get the whole "she tried to kill stevie" she thought he was rose and before anyone says "still murder tho" well ya faves Pearl Lapis and Peridot did the same shit too while the big bad butches Bismuth and Jasper suffer forever :). "Earthings" was a favorite of mine but I thought it used Smoky Quartz at the wrong time. Like the episode literally says that Amethyst could never beat Jasper no matter how she tries which really wasnt a good lesson tbh "hard work doesnt pay off, genetics does!!". Smoky was formed from a emotional bond which was nice but i thought it wouldve been better if Amethyst had accepted stevies help and that they could be fucks up together and said fusion would happen naturally instead of using fusion as just "wow we cant do shit on our owns :/// thanks rock genetics". The rubies literally got left in space to die when they were so easy to dispatch and Steven pulled the "i wanted to help eyeball" while he left the other 4 rubies to die instead of giving them a chance since wow they're??? Their own gems and deserve a chance. Said fandom demonized Navy and called her a sociopath for gaining Stevie's and the barn lesbians trust and taking the ship. These were some detailed reasons why the fandom and show seem hypocritical when they pull their "we care about diveristy but we aint gonna bother showing it" aka if youre not white coded rip you. Connie and Lars' heritage? Not necessary since theyre not white lol. Lars got a confirmed race like 4 episodes before he became pink so if we hadn't seen him before he got pink then we wouldve never known since he wouldnt look like a poc and he doesnt talk about his heritage so he wouldnt sound like one either. The fandom was also like "omgggg look at this one pic of Connie's mom wearing Indian clothes" while refusing the claim that we dont need to hear about anyone's heritage since it isn't "realistic" for POC to talk about it. Interestingly, most white fans say this claim hmm. Blue Diamond had some concerns syrrounding whitewashing, which appears to be due to lighting/ not official design. The problem was that BD was shown to be crueler in Season 2 when she was going to kill Ruby for doing her job. Yet by her official appearance she's neon, looks white despite the Indian asthethic vibe displayed on "The Return" and her display on the Moon, and sad cause her co-worker/ gf died or some shit despite Becky Sugar saying that BD was supposed to be a representation of homophobia. A stupid trope where the homophobe was just a closeted gay. She also became so sad and gay that the fandom woobified her to being a innocent gem despite being a dictator, trying to murder a main character, owning a human zoo. The show also made her cry like 99% to make you feel sad for her cause oh no how dare our white saviour Rose Quartz murder a dictator. This also brought a stupid belief of Steven that "the diamonds woildnt be here if it wasnt for my mom !!! Fuck her" considering killing PD looks like it was the only good thing Rose has done and like out of all the things steven has a right to be mad about it was about his mom killing a dictator??? Also Amethyst's and a Gem named Concrete had their own racist beta designs. Amethyst had a chola design and Concrete, a literal black coded gem that couldnt read (an advanced alien species and the only one that cant read is the black gem?),were displayed on the art books because the crewniverse doesnt really consider the racism that theyve displayed for children to see. This show has a lot of problems and its still good, could be a whole lot better if some issues were addressed, but considering the writers and fandom refuse to address any criticism by using the "its a show for kids!!!1) says the 30 year old white gay on tunglr. Org who praises stevies university for being woke!!1 and having a gay couple. Jeez this got long but I just think its hypocritical that everyone praises this show for barely doing the bare minimum yet refuses to address any problems. While I havent watched the whole show, Gravity falls has displayed a lack of POC in their whole show. While it is a small city, it became interesting that a lot of POC were in prison.
