Okay, so I was gonna leave but then I watched this video about Resident Evil 3 and I had to come by and write down this idea.
The Mercenaries:
The headlines all over the news were loud and clear: Umbrella corporation, the leading pharmaceutical company in the US and Europe, had finally entered the Latin market, specifically locating one of their first facilities in the small island of Santa Cecilia, located between the Gulf of Mexico and Cuba. Santa Cecilia is a beautiful island, with sunny skies and warm people who are all employed to work for the Umbrella facility in the island that manufactures medicines from the plants endemic to the region.
One day a sinister event occurs with the facility blowing up and as a result, the people in the island end up contaminated with whatever toxic chemicals were being used in the facility, turning them up into zombies While on the outside the pharmaceutical conglomerate appears to be a philanthropic and humane enterprise that cares for the well-being of humankind, the reality is that they use that to cover their true activities: bio-engineering terrible bio-weapons and virus that are sold in the Black Market for bellicose activities. One of those virus being the direct responsible of turning the islanders into monstrous beings.
While this event is similar in structure to the Racoon City incident, there is one big difference: this one was deliberately activated by the Umbrella Executives, who wish to test their bio-weapons in actual combat and record their times. For that very reason, a group of Mercenaries were deployed to the Island and given the go to activate Operation Mad-Jackal. Their objective was to get to the Facility, pick up the data files containing the illegal activities of the pharmaceutical and then destroy the facility.
What they don’t know is that not only are they being recorded through the cameras located all over Santa Cecilia. They recording is also being broadcast to an exclusive elite of executives who are enjoying the gory show. And who may also bid to help the contestants in this blood-curdling pay-per-view stream: the more violent they become the more chances and help they may get.
Which channel will you watch? The available candidates for the battle operation are:
Captain Andres “Andy” Martínez (played by Oscar Isaac): a seasoned war veteran with more than 40 confirmed kills under his belt. He is the one directing the entire operation and perhaps the only one who knows the truth behind it.
Álvaro “Al/Happy Feet” Rojo (played by Ryan Guzman): pilot for the operation, known for being slightly arrogant and having a tender heart. Don’t be fooled by the fact that he once was part of a dance studio, because he will kill you in one shot if needed.
Ángel “Archangel” Arcos (played by Sean Teale): with 20 confirmed kills under his belt, he’s the sniper specialist in the team. A young man and Catholic at heart, he is cold and ruthless but doesn’t go to bed without praying.
Alphonse “Dobberman” Dobbin (played by Boyd Holbrook): another seasoned fighter, the “Dobberman” earned his name when he alone took down and extracted a subject from a field with all odds against him. Don’t be fooled by his sweet southern accent, he’s dangerous.
As the team arrives, a powerful storm falls on the island, breaking any communication devices they could possess. Not only that, a surprise attack by a group of zombies scattered the mercenaries who are now separated and have to complete the mission all on their own.
Who could they meet?
Another mercenary (not listed here, FCs recommended: Aaron Taylor Johnson, Stephen Amell, Chris Hemsworth, Tyler Hoechlin) who may be also looking to cooperate with the mercenary in order to finish their mission.
A survivor on the island (played by a Latino FC) who is looking for help and the Mercenary in question may help them. Until they get an order from one of the men watching through the TV that they want to see the survivor moan...
A tourist trapped in Santa Cecilia (FC up to player) who may be willing to help their cause. It’s the tourist, a specialist in cameras and telecomms, who may notice the small camera in the mercenary and may help to discover where the feed is coming.
As the mercenary walks by the city, he finds a strange man who may be more skilled than he lets out. The man confesses being a “reporter” (FC up to player, recommended Tyler Hoechlin), which explains the camera, but what about the grappling hook? the small gun and that strange device that can unlock and hack electronic devices?
The mercenary has found out the truth about their doings and after being one day and one night in, the chances of him surviving are slimming. That is until he rescues another operative from Umbrella. The operative confesses being part of a first team of operatives sent in and failing to complete the mission...
Interested? Let’s talk over DM and plot this one out.
I’m open and flexible to have more characters and possibly use other FCs or characters than the ones mentioned here.
