Gave 0813 a little overhaul, made him a bit more classy and less cartoony.
0813 is a traveler from a collective of interconnected universes - basically, a lil’ section of the multiverse that’s particularly close together.
One day, while universe-hopping, he missed his intended target by a bit and ended up in our world, which was Not Ready - the fabric of reality doesn’t agree with him: The laws of physics don’t seem quite sure if they should apply to him, any measuring implements used on him have a tendency to implode, and he cannon be directly heard or seen in any way. He’s also very much stuck in this universe, though he doesn’t terribly mind.
He also appears to be considerably over 2 meters tall as far as anyone can tell, mostly-but-not-totally human-like in shape, and he prefers to wear hooded robes, carrying his dry-erase-board-on-a-stick like a scythe, purely because he finds it amusing.
How he ended up helping out in magical law enforcement is a little bit vague (and probably not totally sound from a legal perspective, ironically), but he’s been at it for quite a while.
(He also doesn’t seem to have a concept of gender identity, he simply thought “he” sounded nice as a pronoun)

Jamie reminds me a bit of Vecchio, or that just me hallucinating?
(For starters, one of her many siblings has a thing for her really-not-interested partner, doesn’t that sound familiar. Luckily, he’s a lot more subtle about it than Frannie is with Fraser)
Partially, yes -  the brashness, the premature assumptions and the occasional foot-in-mouth instances, definitely, but I’m pretty sure she’d object to his fashion sense.
Also, Vecchio is a bit prone to trying to take the easy way out and generally giving up when he has no personal stake in his cases, while Jaime is entirely too stubborn. Give her a case and she won’t let go of it until it is damn well solved, even if she has to blow up a better part of the city to get it done. Damned if I know how blowing things up is supposed to help with that, but somehow she always finds a way.
To Gus’ eternal suffering, she also has a very Fraser-like (read as: non-existent) sense of self-preservation except she sets things on fire a lot more.
(also unlike Vecchio or Fraser, her dad is both alive and a pretty excellent father)

DOAMS is set in Germany and they’re technically all speaking German most of the time.
Gus can speak English, and he does it very well - in a very 1930′s radio announcer sort of way that would probably creep out every modern native speaker ever.
Get him feeling emotional enough, though, and the whole fancy RP accent goes rrrrright down the drain and is replaced by an Austrian German accent that veers dangerously close to the Stereotypical Vampire Accent.
Jaime dissolves into helpless giggles the first time she hears it.

Gus + 39?
Sure thing!

Giving me a pallet with pink, a brown-ish grey, almost-white and a shade of blue is almost too nice, tbh, made it possible to reach most colors I normally work with. Not that I’d mind, particularly.

Poor Gus, POOR ELLIOT!!!
Yup.
Elliot turns out reasonably fine in the end after they dig him out of the bunker he’s been asleep in for the last 80 years or so; his take on the situation is pretty much “Well, I’m still alive (in a way) and the people who did this are almost certainly dead and I didn’t even have to do anything; sucks to be them” with a side order of “oh hey, free trip to the future! How interesting!”
If he did end up with some mental scars, he hides them exceptionally well, at least.
Then again, the experiments weren’t all that extensive anyway; they managed to catch him and weaken him enough to keep him contained, which is honestly a miracle, but getting close to him and balancing his physical state just right to keep him contained without killing him became far too difficult and dangerous after a while, especially because Elliot was at least as smart as them, and a hundred times as experienced.
Of course, Gus thinks the entire thing is his fault because he didn’t insist that Elliot come to London with him. Not to mention his guilt about leaving in the first place: He suspected what was going to happen to the country (though he admittedly would never have expected it to be so bad) and he ran.

sound like someone was listening to Feindsender during the war …
Nah, Gus and Elliot lived in London during the late 19th century, and intermittently up to 1919 (until Elliot wanted to take a closer look at the Weimar republic and they moved back to Germany) so they (Gus, officially, but it was very much theirs) actually owned a flat in London; Gus moved back there during the 30′s when the political situation in Germany got a bit... hairy.
Unfortunately, Elliot believed that said situation would sort itself out and promptly got captured and experimented on for potential supernatural super-soldier reasons.
Almost as unfortunately, the flat didn’t survive the Blitz, and almost took Gus with it, which is a big part of the reason why Gus’ healing abilities are so fucked up and a slightly smaller part of the reason why the rest of him is so fucked up - being trapped under tons of rubble for the better part of a week while critically injured tends to do that to people.

★ (or can we get like one fact per main character? idk just if you feel lik eit)
You definitely and absolutely can :3
(if any of these are duplicates of stuff I’ve posted before, give me another poke for more facts, I just have shit memory, the projects are all old as hell and I nightblog about those dorks a lot so idk what I’ve posted already)
-> Gus actually wasn’t too fond of Rococo fashion (he was born in 1750, so he caught the tail end of that) and considered it one big tactile nightmare - the only fashion thing he hates more is everything after (and during) the Victorian era - black, bland, uniform, boring and the exact opposite of the individualism he craves. Thus happened whatever the heck it is he’s doing now - his own tiny stylistic rebellion.
-> Jaime’s parents met at a Star Trek convention - both of them were cosplaying as Spock. Jaime spent most of her teenage years trying to prevent them from telling that story to her buddies, because as far as she was concerned, parents don’t get much more embarrassing. She still thinks it’s dorky, tbh.
-> Absalom once saved Val’s life when Val was “just” a prince and not yet first in line to inherit the throne, and Absalom was just a random navy lieutenant. Val being Val, the young prince was always first to know when Absalom was in town, and Absalom spent a fair amount of time as an unofficial babysitter, something between an older brother and a replacement father figure. (As far as both of them are concerned, the queen never even took notice… but she knew, of course she knew)
-> Severin’s white hair runs in the family and seems to be at least partially hereditary - his sister has it, too, as does one of his grandfathers. Superstition has it that those born with white hair are uniquely suited to magic - the fact that all white-haired people in his family did become mages seems to support that, but it’s more likely just a result of the deeply biased selection process for mages.(The eyes, by the way, are just a neat coincidence due to genetic chimerism; nothing magical about that)

Doodle of the day: Oliver the Intern
a young student of magical law working at the same place as Gus and Jaime. Has a bit of a crush on Gus, deals with the inevitable rejection really well, and Gus becomes a kind of mentor to him. Jaime hates his guts - Oliver is exactly as old as she is, and somehow she finds that threatening; afraid he’ll drag her down to his level of intern-ness. She eventually more-or-less gets over it, especially after Oliver becomes friends with Elliot later on.

The first-ever picture of Gus, and the most recent one. We’ve both changed so much, he and I. In a weird sort of chain reaction of epiphanies, most of the time.
