(It’s time for a 4halo ramble and analysis into their current relationship! Everything that follows is about the characters, I’m not using the q! because I’m lazy. I also want to repeat that while I am a 4halo shipper this entire rant is me explaining why I don’t want them to get together right now or anywhere in the near future. I don’t really consider this 4halo neg but let me know if you want me to tag it as such - they have the chemistry and in a distant future I could see it - but the fluffy 4halo that everyone seems to be imagining right now? I can’t see it happening. Toxic 4halo is another story entirely though and not what this ramble is about)

Okay you have been warned (THIS IS LONG):

not saying I’m not a huge 4halo enjoyer because. I am. But I do hope they don’t actually “become canon” or get into a relationship for the foreseeable future. Because the only realistic way that will end is in a giant, heart-wrenching break-up after like. 2 weeks. And I don’t see the ship recovering from that I’m gonna be honest.

Look. They can barely communicate as they are right now, any kind of committed relationship between them would end in fire and brimstone - especially when you take into account the power imbalance that is already causing problems.

Forever has not apologized for jailing Bad, even though Bad has asked for it (a rare show of communication on his part) and he might not apologize ever because he thinks he’s in the right. Somehow Cellbit is the only one to have apologized despite being the one calling for Bad’s head the most during the actual furniture incident. Anyway, Bad knows Forever thinks he’s in the right. And Bad also knows Forever wielded his presidential power to keep him jailed - so if Forever’s not sorry and he believes he was right, what’s to stop him from doing it again - in Bad’s mind, that is. There are actually quite a few things keeping him from doing it again, chief among them being that he doesn’t want to lmao. But Bad wouldn’t know that, would he?

I just- The imprisonment hurt Bad’s trust in everyone so badly that he destroyed every waystone in his base - and he when he found out Pac had someone gotten in anyway, he destroyed the waystone again. I don’t think people understand how long he’s been contemplating doing that. I don’t think people understand how many times he’s decided against destroying his waystones. It takes a pretty big fuck up to get him to do that. It takes a fuck-up of pretty tremendous proportions. And he did that last bit with Pac extremely recently too, which means he hasn’t forgotten.

And that - the whole furniture fiasco - that’s not a misstep that will just smooth over if Bad and Forever just care about each other hard enough. They already care about each other deeply - it didn’t stop the conflict. It’s not something everyone can just sweep under the rug with the power of love and no actual communication. Or at least I hope it’s not. It shouldn’t be. Any relationship the two get into right now will be steeped in distrust and wariness on Bad’s part due to the amount of power Forever can choose to use against him at any moment. And even if Forever hadn’t imprisoned him, that would still probably be the case, albeit to a much lesser extent. But Forever did imprison him, so now Bad’s not only wary of Forever turning on him in a hypothetical sense - he has past experience with that exact scenario. He has reason to distrust. It’s not paranoia in this instance; it’s genuine, rational distrust, which is even harder to alleviate.

By the way, that’s not even taking into account that Bad now knows of the existence of a drug that can brainwash Forever into potentially abusing his power against his own will. Think about how scary we all thought the drug-induced marriage proposals were. Think about how much scarier it would’ve been if Bad and Forever had actually been dating at the time. I’m not going to get into the risus potion here, or what implications it has for Bad’s trust in Forever - or more accurately, the trust he has in Forever’s position of power - because that’s too fucking complicated for my silly brain right now and this is long enough.

So basically: how is a relationship between a president and an anarchist supposed to work? Is Bad supposed to shut up, abandon his core principles, and do whatever Forever wants? When he opposes/attempts to help Forever improve the voting system he’s not being ‘immature’ - he’s acting in perfect accordance with his own belief system. There are points where he does act antagonist in an immature manner but in those instances he is very obviously being dramatic on purpose (and Forever does it as well). Him thinking Forever’s voting system isn’t fair isn’t him being immature, it’s just him being politically opposed. And Forever - what about Forever? Is Forever supposed to throw away his entire presidency? Oh, Bad’s an anarchist so that means Forever has to give up everything he’s worked so hard to accomplish, all the plans he has, all the good he’s desperately trying to do despite the fact that the nature of his position is scaring his loved ones away? He’s supposed to let everyone boss him around? Just because his crush hates government? Really? See, none of these options sounds particularly healthy, but their friendship isn’t even healthy right now so I can’t see them somehow reaching a better alternative.

Idk if you couldn’t tell I don’t like it when people non-jokingly boil down Bad and Forever’s political arguments as something that’ll be solved if one of them gives in or apologizes. Because they won’t. Because neither of them is wrong. Forever was partially right when he told Bagi that nothing he does as president will ever satisfy Bad - Bad is an anarchist, the fact that a government has been forced on him in the first place is already a fundamental problem - and that’s not wrong of him! It’s a genuine difference in beliefs and neither of them is wrong! Bad is not somehow automatically wrong because he’s an anarchist, and Forever is not somehow automatically wrong because he’s the president. Grrr bark woof grr bark, etc… you get what I mean.

(TLDR; if 4halo becomes canon right now it’ll crash and burn instantly and kill everyone on board which I don’t want to happen. Therefore I don’t wish for it to be canon.)

Hot Take

I ship Raya and Sisu over Raya and Namaari. Here’s why!

• The biggest reason. Sisu has an adorable, scrimblo human form that she can change into at will. Raya’s got the best of both worlds.

•Sisu and Raya would be around each other much more often, depending on what you’d have Sisu doing after the events of the movie. In my headcanon, Sisu went right to Heart after helping relieve Kumandra, and effectively became Raya’s roommate. Namaari on the other hand is a princess of another land and having her own responsibilities, may not have as much time for Raya.

• Sisu has nowhere near as much negative baggage as Namaari. Namaari is partially the reason why the Druun returned to Kumandra, and half of the reason why they were nearly screwed forever, with six years in between these two events of the two hating one another’s guts. Personally I’m not too sure what kind of romantic relationship could spawn out of those events. In Sisu’s case, Raya spent a quarter of her life trying to find her, and all her life fascinated and revering her. When she’s woken up, Sisu isn’t exactly what Raya had in mind, but she’s still the first positive social interaction Raya’s had in literal years.

• Sisu’s presence in her life made Raya a better person. The other biggest reason for me is that Sisu simply completes Raya in a way I feel like Namaari doesn’t. In the movie Raya distrusts everyone around her to an almost absurd degree. While her worry is understandable, Sisu is able to get Raya to lighten up and give people a chance after she had previously stated that she’d completely lost her hope in humanity. Sisu’s positive influence eventually got Raya to find hope that her father’s dream could become a reality, and she ended up adopting Sisu’s more forgiving attitude, and let go of the hatred she had for Namaari and her people.

•Losing Sisu sent Raya into a frenzy. While losing her father seemed to have traumatized her deeply, losing Sisu to that very preventable accident Namaari caused made Raya nearly kill for revenge. I think that says something about how deeply she felt about Sisu despite only knowing her for a few days at most.

•Her own death and the consequences of being revived can serve as something Raya and Sisu can overcome as a couple. Some people were bothered by how Sisu dying and coming back didn’t seem to have any consequences. I agree with this sentiment, which is why in my headcanon, Sisu is not only severely traumatized by the event, but has a chronic pain in her heart where the arrow hit her. This in my headcanon is the catalyst for Raya and Sisu forming a much closer bond. Trauma is something Raya knows all too well, and her having to help Sisu overcome it like the dragon once did with her, I feel can not just be very wholesome, but lead to bigger things.

•I just think Raya getting together with the titular “Last Dragon” is just a neat idea. Heroes falling in love with the things they’re sent to find on their quest is one of those tropes I really like, especially when that love is reciprocated, and Sisu is a character that very much represents the love that Raya loses and gains back over the course of the movie.

So that’s that. Personally I’d love to see more Raya X Sisu arts, as well as an official ship name like Rayaari. I don’t have anything against Rayaari, on that note. Raya getting with Sisu is just my own preference, and there are plenty of reasons why Raya and Namaari can work.

one of the biggest reasons i have my ffxv characters in ffxiv at this point is because i genuinely wish there were people that loved ffxv enough to see if they could get the same kind of posing tools in the game? but i really don't think that's going to happen. so, i mean...the one place i can definitely pose them is ffxiv with things like brio, anamesis, and ktisis while also getting them to look close to how i imagine them with mods and glamourer.

being completely truthful: primam was brought into ffxiv purely to serve as an avatar for me in the beginning because i just really loved her when i made her, and was very attached to her (i mean, clearly i still am). she was not meant to be a warrior of light, she was not meant to even be isekai'd into ffxiv. i come from years and years and years of playing wow, so i didn't have expectations of me being hooked by ffxiv's story.

a lot of the gposes you'll see from me are kind of for fun things, and stuff to defiintely explore certain aspects! like a lunafreya plot point i've been working on in my reimagined series since i don't jive at all with how she's treated in ffxv, kingsglaive, and...if i'm being honest, i don't even really like the way she was entirely treated in dawn of the future, either.

there are times where i like imagining prim in the setting of ffxiv, but it's all ever loose stuff if i'm thinking about it in the sense of being a warrior of light. my old fc at the time got me into making her into an rp character, and her arrival (along with a handful of others) on hydaelyn was a result of the resonance of allagan and solheim technology communing and syncing with one another to create a rift that pulled them through, scattering them around the star.

primam ended up in namai, almost having drowned in the process since she was submerged in water when she arrived. her twin brother ended up stabbing himself with one of his own weapons that he had out, necessitating aid from someone in the village of hyrstmill in the black shroud.

others who arrived who i don't talk about much are:

risu gaudium, who ended up in a garlean castrum and was questioned about his identity. with a name like risu gaudium, pretending to be from garlemald was a bit of thing he ended up doing to blend in and try not to actually get himself in too much trouble.

spe melos, who ended up nearly freezing as she tumbled across the chilled, nighttime sands of southern thanalan and taken in by the members of the u tribe who found her. she was then later taken in by a free company that called themselves the 'golden rose'. while they helped her she later got a job at the gold saucer as an entertainer, capitalizing on her talents of singing and playing piano.

victor sidus and alte vanas, who were the most unscathed from their arrival. they ended up close to mor dhona and secured themselves mercenary work to stay at the seventh heaven while defending the hub town from any threats. a task made easier thanks to their warping abilities.

... unfortunately, i felt too stressed to continue being in that fc, and the fc has since kind of gone downhill due to drama i actually have no place getting into because it happened after i stepped down from maintaining rp events. but since then, these stories have actually more or less been discontinued and even retconned in the case of primam for sure. all the other characters were not as tied into the fc at the time as primam was. thankfully, though, the retconning wasn't cumbersome, and i do have it in the wings in case i feel like rp'ing with primam again in the future utilizing the setting of ffxiv.

but yeah! for the most part, i do really, really love being able to explore more of these concepts and ideas of things i wish i could do in ffxv and being able to recreate those things in ffxiv because of all the aforementioned modding tools that allow me to do just that. like, i could draw it, and i'd like to. posing them for now has to suffice while i grapple with my artistic output, though. i hope i can draw more ffxv things in the future certainly.

but even if i haven't drawn them quite yet, playing with them and putting together scenes like this does give me ideas for how i'd like to draw things later!

outside of those, though? i've kinda soft headcanon'd jeryk / shenza as shards of prompto because he gives me such huge prompto energy. as such, i definitely had to make proper prim shards named rowynn and nokomis:

Genuinely do not believe in addressing trauma (for me). I can either establish coping and avoidance strategies that dont impact on my life negatively (good) or I can actually think about what happened and it makes me sad and worse and then I get avoidant in a way that DOES impact my life negatively (bad) or I can "seek help" and get told my avoidance and coping is "bad" and I should "stop doing that" and then woops I get traumatised in the same way again because I wasn't avoiding (worse)

the french speakers' arrival is a wonderful day from several povs (bagheras, cellbits, quackity's, although his is fairly short as always)

similarly, brazilians arriving is also great! watch any of the brazilians or q or roier or even phil who was losing his mind waiting for them to give the eggs back

WATCH A DAY 1 VOD!!!! if you already have watched one pov, watch another from someone else! day 1 vods are so funny and deranged and really set the initial tone that really was the server's vibes basically up until the brazilians arrived

the egg event day! tbh watch any pov but roier's and jaiden's are really really good

the conclusion of the happy pills arc was an incredible day; i know it's probably soured for a lot of folks, and that's understandable, but if you never watched it and feel up for it, check out pac's and cellbit's pov of it because it's wonderful (pac didn't stream the actual conclusion himself, so you'll have to watch cellbit's to see the full conclusion of pac and forever getting the risus antidote)

idr what day it was exactly but the day bobby was killed by the code and lost his first life is a super interesting vod from several povs-- namely roier's, cellbit's, phil's, bad's, and probably some other folks? a LOT of lore stuff happened that day that was super interesting

cellbit's may 7 vod (featuring the cucurucho chainsaw hallway) + his may 10 vod (featuring him screaming and revving a chainsaw at the sight of cucurucho); tbh, if you're into qcellbit, watch his first week vods if you haven't because they're IMPECCABLE they decided to immediately torture him and also gave him so many puzzles it was great. this whole era of theory bros/ordo theoritas was incredible generally too so max's and bad's vods are also very very fun watches and they didn't spend a million hours deciphering an ARG so their vods are easier to get through

bagi's arrival IMPECCABLE tbh watching anyone's day 1/arrival vod is a good idea they're usually pretty enlightening & fun; watch her pov as well as anyone else's because from what i remember they had to do a bunch of weird puzzles to get to her

similarly, carre's first day is very funny and chill vibes very enjoyable

hinata came in upset, clutching his stomach as he tosses his bag to the ground. usually after a work out, he’d bounce around the house but the last few weeks, he’s been coming back to you in a similar condition.

“hey, baby, what’s wrong?” you rush up to him, gently holding onto his arm, still slightly damp with sweat.

“my ab is cramping again.” he seethes out, the pain evident in his voice.

“lay down on the couch.” you usher him towards it, making sure he doesn’t go too fast to further the pain. you’ve told him time after time to stretch during workouts but he never seems to listen.

he lays down on the couch, taking his shirt off and you see the ab in question convulsing in place. you quickly straddle him, gently massaging the ab as the knot disappears. he lets out a sound of relief mixed with a grunt and places his hands on your thighs.

“thank you baby, i know i can always count on you.” a small smile graces his features, laced with something slightly sinister.

“you do this every time.” you groan, starting to get up. but he’s faster, pushing the weight of his palms down onto your thighs so you cant move.

“love it when you help me out like this though.” his hands slide up to your waist, gripping tightly into them. “besides, i have a few more knots that could use your special touch.”

after rewatching the anime like 4 times and rewatching the scenes where risu appears separately, ive come to the conclusion anime risu is literally a whole different character from manga risu and i genuinely wish mappa didnt treat him like a joke, because half the scenes with him feel like theyre solely for comedic purposes, and it is SO frustrating to watch, especially as someone who cares abt him so so bad and every little detail abt him😭

it feels like mappa just fell for his "pretending to be clueless/stupid" schtick, like guys you are NOT supposed to add little scenes that make him look dumb and remove the scenes where he shows how aware and on edge he is the whole time😭😭😭 genuinely feels like they did it on purpose for absolutely no reason

Also this is just my personal opinion but i dont think the voice fits him..like at all. And obviously this isnt to say the VA did a bad job, i just personally dont think it was the right cast ... i def imagine a more raspy voice in general, the tone of the "canon" one doesnt give off risus vibes (or maybe ive just brainrotted too much)..i will say though i do like the JP VA's voice range, being able to pull off the "stupid" voice and a serious one. even if i dont think the voice itself fits, that specific characteristic is exactly how i imagine risus voice, having a bit impressive voice range

overall i do still like the anime, and am just as excited for season 2 as everyone else, but if mappa treats risu the same way i might just drop it, cuz it is legit cringe seeing the writers completely misunderstand risu..like his "im only pretending to be an idiot so i keep their guard low and avoid further suspicion" flew RIGHT over their heads imo

Fun fact though, I actually made my OWN TWST Coachman OC a while back for a roleplaying server :3

His name is Carlo Omino (a combination of the author of Pinocchio, Carlo Collodi, and the Coachman's original Italian name, Omino di Burro). He runs a similar trafficking ring, except it hides in plain sight in a regular theme park in Port O'Bliss, and it involves animal transformation (any kind of animal, not just donkey) AND the capturing and selling of rare magical creatures and species. The animal transformations are mostly via potion created by sisters TWST Yzma and Kronk (named Eartha (after her VA) and Risu (Japanese for squirrel))

Carlo's also Rollo's abusive father in this universe but that's not important-

Not rlly nonnie bc even before risus, Pac was like "yeah Forever! Build a prison! That's how you solve problems, you lock them up. And then they get better!" And I remember that bc it was also a parallel with Cellbit saying that he deserved prison and it fixed him (or smth like that) around the same time. Its just how fucked up pac was from Alcatraz to think not only he deserved it and everything that happened to him, but that it also helped him somehow

17. What do you do when writing becomes difficult? (maybe a lack of inspiration or writers block)

I do much the same thing as what I do with art, usually! Which is to say, I take a break for a few hours, days, or sometimes longer and work on something else in the meantime or I describe it out loud to someone and usually have an "aha" moment as I'm doing that.

If I'm feeling insecure about the characterization, I reread the source material and reread whatever I've previously written. I do this with art too, looking at things I drew of the same character and looking at detailed references of them :3

In my long fic, when I've not wanted to write a particular part but I know it needs to be written to get to a part I like better, I find writing sprints help very much! Risu called them "load bearing chapters" and I think of them like this now too, and find the combination of that mindset and the sprints helps me get through them!

If I just have no ideas or I feel too tense to write, I don't have any good way of pushing past that. There have been times where I go months and months without writing a new fic 😭 But I think to some extent that's been just perfectionism getting to me-- not thinking I can execute it well, or thinking others could have/already have written it better. I've honestly found it really liberating writing oc x canon, because even if other people ship their OCs with the same canon character, only I can write my OC so there's no one to compare myself to! When I see other people with the "same" oc x canon ship, I'm just like "yay you also like him, what is he like with your character?! :D" and I don't feel like it affects me in the same ways I've been affected in the past by writing canon x canon ships!

20. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?

I try to keep the same expressions for describing certain characters, I think it's fun to call attention to the same things in the same ways again and again. Like describing Estinien's eyes as "stormy" both in the color and also in the inner turmoil he has. I describe eyes a lot actually, I really like to do that. :3 I like to bring up my OC Mallory's eyes as being blue-green (though they are really teal-- same difference I suppose?) and then describing them as "more blue than green" or "more green than blue" depending on the context of whatever the scene is. Like the glowing jellyfish making them appear more blue than green, for example! :3 It's cute and fun idk I like it!

I know people always meme on eye color descriptions in fics but I really enjoy it. My eyes are brown but look amber in the light and have a purple ring around the edges, it's always fascinated me so I like to think about those little details in characters' eyes as well!

I also really like to write themes around personal identity (usually gender and/or sexuality), grief, and recovery! Just about everything I write touches on at least one of these things! They are really important topics to me and I enjoy writing about them more than anything :3

28. On average, how much writing do you get done in a day?

I don't write every day, but I usually write in big bursts when I do! I think in most sessions it's between 1k - 2k words! I've been kind of in a bad mental health hole the last few days so I've been writing a ton to escape a little and I wrote something crazy like 10k words in three days 😱 But that's not really normal for me haha it's usually like, a couple of times a week I write a few thousand words!
