I usually consider myself a romantic, unless I see a couple while lifeguarding, in which case I revert into saiki k and his annoyed face
#it’s the middle school girls glaring at me cause I looked in the direction of their boy who honestly needs to be monitored by me#it’s the kissing and getting so wrapped up in each other I bet they wouldn’t notice their friend drowning#even if it was fake movie drowning with splashing and crying out for help#it’s the so wrapped up in their giggling they don’t notice accidentally splashing nearby old people just trying to do their exercises#It’s the constant need to do dumb shit that means I have to acknowledge their high school grossness long enough to say knock it off#these four kids come in and individually they can swim safely but together their brains are mush#like my guy stop trying to carry her deeper than you can touch it didn’t work last time and you haven’t gotten stronger since#this is mostly directed at them but some adult couples also show up#do you know how fucking embarrassing it is to be told to stop roughhousing/splashing it is#by an underpaid teen lifeguard when you’re playfighting?#not embarrassing enough for them to not keep coming back#couples with a kid are fine because it’s them being parents and I appreciate more than one adult being with the kid
