Could I have made my life easier and decided to just shoot motorsports on a digital camera like a normal person? Of course. But my brain will not let me do that

I’m going to document just how deep of a hole I am getting myself into with this

So off I go to try and fit as many local races into my calendar between now and Spa (which is the end goal for this endeavour) to get a handle on shooting fast zoom zoom cars on 35mm. Indy is already booked and ready to go, but going from photographing ROC straight to Indy feels like a big jump in my skills… so added a NASCAR pinty’s, and a “vintage” Grand Prix (whatever that means) between now and then

#+ need to figure out my lens situation #I want a zoom so I can have a variety of option on how to frame a shot without having to fly with 6 lenses #but zooms aren’t as sharp as primes and they cost an arm and a leg to boot #do you know how difficult it is to shoot motorsports with 0 autofocus of any kind?#I have to spitball my focus and hope for the best because I will not get the scans back for days if not weeks #tagged: Gin makes bad photography decisions
