hey I've been listening to the yard for about a year and a half and I want to get more into it ifywim do I just start watching old vods to catch up or is there any content u can recommend as a baseline must-watch

this is by no means a comprehensive list because i've only really been watching the yard since dec 2022 and my 2021 stint in lud viewing was brief and casual (didn't know what i had) but it is a fucking long list so i'll keep it under the cut. included stuff that maybe i wouldn't classify as a must watch but i wanted to include it so you can pick and choose what interests you

PODCASTS - I know for a fact there are other podcast appearances out there that I don't know of but here are a few:

the yard x wine about it - it's just the four of them and qt which means good times! this is an essential imo

there are a few eps of fear& that they appear on! specifically rec the ep with nick and aiden and the ep with ludwig and aiden. there are also a few eps with ludwig and slime (not at the same time) if you're interested in those

i've watched aiden on three different interview podcasts all are worth a watch to me: karat interview, across the bar, and good griefed (audio a little scuffed on this one but it's cute)

fucking loved nick's ep of across the bar because his outlook on creativity is super relatable to me. he also did something with safety third that i've been meaning to watch but haven't yet!

VIDEOS AND STREAMS - there's a lot here but i'll try to describe what's what

mogul money ft the yard - this is the full vod, there's also a cut down video. extremely fun watch

nick was also on mogul money live (first game specifically) and he and aiden appear in the bts video a little bit

qt posted vlogs from italy! they're all fun watches and there's some good moments. one, two, three, four

qt and aiden halloween gingerbread house video. ludwig and aiden kiss in this one. i think the full vod is in god's hands unfortunately

qt and aiden make shit in an ezbake oven and make the guys eat it. fun little video. idk if the vod is out there somewhere or not

lud did a shit load of taste test videos with the guys for a slim jim sponsor. this might not be all of them but here are the ones i cold find off rip (fruit, cheese, chocolate, water, steak)

ludwig has done a shitload of ylyl streams with slime that you can find and honestly i have a horrible mediashare allergy so i haven't watched a lot of them but i have watched the one they did with aiden and the one with everyone but idk where the full vod is for the latter

from ludwig's fortnite mondays, there was a week where slime and nick played with jerma and sapnap. idk if any of the others posted the vod but here's sapnap's

the subathon has a shitload of stuff that i can't even begin to link but if you want the experience of the dcom series without subbing to tier 2 they watched the truman show starting about an hour thirty into this vod, tho it takes a hot minute to get everything lined up with the time stamps

the rivals 2 tournament is fun! i don't understand shit about fighting games but i love to see the boys play

Young- Helped out with Jose and Sherri and once taker came along, helped out in his business.

Older- Rapper, occasionally acts, but main passion is music. Does performances for Shawn's fashion shows and Takers events/parties.

Young- Helps with Shawn's business as it was just getting started, was a mannequin when Shawn needed to adjust outfits, was and still is Shawn's muse.

Older- Model, runway model, always walks in Shawn's shows. Models for Takers bike brand. Models for his siblings merch brands. Ambassador of Versace. Works for brands like Calvin Klein, Nike, Tommy Hilfiger and Prada. You get the gist. Also has a side hobby of dancing and even has a class that he teaches people, kids, adults, teens to dance, for free as he believes everyone should have an escape.

Young- This bitch was born that late that she didn't actually have to work. She was born into that money. So she begged her parents and became a child actor. She'd do YouTube videos when YouTube first dropped.

Older- Still acts, releases pop music on the side. Also continued her YouTube channel, vlogging her life as an actress but also her families life (with their permission of course), does reviews and unboxing cause yk she's on ever pr list ever. She's that queen. she eventually streams her playing video games on twitch whenever she gets free time.

Young- Works in his parents funeral home.

Ah and you might be asking about kane or the kids partners and for that I tell you...no idea with kane. Considering in wwe lore he dies with their parents or Paul kidnapped him before the fire and yk turned him all frankenstiens monster, whatever it is. Idk how tf you make that human.

And well, the kids partners are more basic as in they either have similar careers to them or end up in a complete different career and meet them on the street or something.

there is a video of me (private, but on my YouTube channel still) circa late 2015, about 7 years old or so, doing an unboxing video of a toy I had gotten for Christmas. at several points in the little 1 minute video and say stuff like "I'm just making sure you can focus on it" or "if you can focus on it" (of which my mom didn't do) and doing gestures that I had seen in YouTube videos. and it's like. you sweet little autistic child holy fuck. I might make the video unlisted and share it here because it is just so strange to hear me saying that. keep in mind I had had access to YouTube, unfiltered, for about two or so years by then and three years including the year I had child filter on. Which btw idk if anyone remembers but the child filter on YouTube in 2015 wasn't good at all anyways 😭

also would like to note that in the background you can see the TV is paused on a scene from the first Avengers movie and I think that's really funny

i always feel bad because i know they stopped doing ahwu because people stopped watching it but i always thought it was probably due to like... idk i personally stopped watching it because when it started it was like a news update which i liked. it was how i kept up to date with what games were coming out ect and what videos they were releasing that week. but then they sort of made it an unboxing video, or the sort of like, "irl content we cant fit anywhere else" video.

obviously i cannot say that a news update ahwu would still do well but that was what i missed about it. literally stands for achievement hunter weekly update. so when it stopped being that i think a lot of people stopped watching.

but i miss it so much... i feel like it was so good for the community too because it was a main ah video that was released every week that also updated on happenings in the community, that showed us that they were paying attention to us. fan vids were featured! fan art being featured during covid was also REALLY good i think - it gave incentive as well for people to make fan content and engage with their content more. i loved seeing my art on there and i also loved seeing my friends art!! i also would be introduced to new artists work so it was a good way for the community to connect with each other. if they did bring it back i would watch every single one if it had these elements of the original + how it was during covid.

anyway this is all just my opinion ofc and what i miss about ahwu so ignore me fr.

i've thought about it but im unsure how to go about it honestly i dont really know what i'd share or do or share i do have a lot of thoughts but i dont really know how to organize them in ways that become... something to share, i suppose

Posting anonymously because I still feel strange about this. Maybe I'm being paranoid.

My DS (8) was really obsessed with this YouTuber for a period of time this summer/fall. Obviously I always tried to redirect him toward educational content but sometimes as mamas we have to pick our battles. Anyway, it was more than just a typical level of being a fan. Him and his friend, we'll call her Mary (7), they would have play dates and ALL they would do was watch iPad. And they would get this really strange hypnotized look in their eyes, and it was honestly a little freaky how much they insisted on getting to watch this guy.

Something happened recently that destroyed my iPad (I can't get into it, that's a whole other story) and it hasn't been a problem since then. DS and Mary haven't asked since, and I haven't replaced the iPad. But it's still freaking me out.

He's called Sprog Monster. As far as I'm aware, it seems to be your typical Kids YouTube fare— slime tutorials, toy unboxing, stuff like that. I haven't actually watched it myself because I'm worried I might get hypnotized too if I do. Does anyone know what this is? Anyone watch it yourself? TIA.

Emily Covington Following. I'm having the same issue. DD (7) won't stop asking about Sprog Monster. I suspect she might be sneaking out of her room after bedtime to get to the iPad and watch him when I'm not looking.

When was the last time he live streamed then? I feel if anything he's being a bit more distant (also because he's like a Bieber/1Direction of F1 it seems with cray fans).

I don't follow him that closely but from what I remember from his fans on twitter it was around march, beginning of season and yeah is way less than what he used to do, maybe he thinks if he does people will ask about Magui or something, but I agree with anon, when he does is engaging and feels genuine so it's great to attract young fans that are his base. And that makes them feel like know him, because is stuff outside of his job, so to me that's one of the reasons they are so keen to defend him, because they "know" his quirks and personality

And with Lewis, idk, it doesn't need to be a full-on content because like you said a bunch of stuff he can't talk about, but almave is out why not some bts? Also some thoughts behind +44 collections, I thought indego was created to do something like that, but the stuff he posts there could be posted in his main account. He spent days with Roscoe, or still is idk, he could've posted more stuff but nothing, I mean, I loved Leo and Roscoe meeting content but it could've been more genuine, because now even Lewis is being accused of using Roscoe for engagement or to hide controversial stuff, mainly because they held it to release the day after his dior announcement and he teased Charles in that post with other drivers. And don't get me wrong, I know their main job is not this, they're not influencers but they do care about it, and teams do too, otherwise there wouldn't exist those challenge videos or even Roscoe account in the first place, all of that is to connect more to fanbase that can get your back

Absolutely nobody cares about ShopDisney, cough, Disney Store's special edition Star Wars dolls now I think, and not only did they continue the non-existent-shelf-warming line, they dare to bring out a L.E. Royal Padme??

I remember reporting on the Hera doll and feeling delighted for our first Twi'lek doll but weary for the loss in articulation. I remember that was before the Ahsoka series's preimere? and I was confused why had they not done the titular character.

I still haven't gotten her despite the sales. It's tempting, I admit. But there was just no urgency and I have no room. I just rewatched an unboxing video (there's next to ZERO people talking about Star Wars dolls at all 😭) woah. I couldn't stand the lack of blushing on the lekku. It's just two chunks of lime green iyaaaaa

Since then (no surprise) a Sabine is released and apparently a Fennec too? I'm not sure if Fennec is the latest or I just missed it in-between, and don't care either. Hmm, there's an awful lot of overlap with HT releases huh? [Correction: Fennec was released online on 20 March and Sabine for May 4, both this year] I totally thought Sabine was like close to the series's timing. I knew the actor is light-skinned but it's disgusting to see a LA Sabine doll whitewashed.

The Disney dolls, as pricey as they are, do share a likeness to the actor. I suppose when you treat them as affordable alternatives for HT, it's alright. Of course I'm not discouraging new releases! It's only Disney's dead stock problem, not mine. Maybe they'll finally bring out a Barriss! (But Jyn or Rey maybe next, seeing probably not a Padme anytime soon to clash with the L.E.)

This is gonna flop. This is gonna flop so bad. and it's evident in they are opening pre-orders for a release FOUR months later (or maybe that's the new practice now idk). It's kinda weird to me how it's on pre-order but also has a set edition size. Perhaps four mouths is really enough to make to order for a big company like Disney.

See, original princess LE are already on markdowns, you think a very non-restylable Padme is going to have a good reception? like, it's an L.E., you're obviously target the adult market. In-boxers aside, why would anyone get a doll that's so inflexible?

I feel like L.E. has always been about elevating the base doll and reinterpreting the classic look. I understand a character's first L.E shouldn't stray to far from their iconic look but a direct copy? There's nothing special about the red fabric and the little bit of embroidery is really a given, right? C'mon. I'm not making myself to check Dressing a Galaxy to see what could be done lest I make myself sad. She doesn't even have metal jewellery or any special shoes we know of.... Or maybe the other older L.E. looks good because they are 2D -> 3D and this is the opposite... so it just feels like a detail deductions downgrade...

I also wanted to point out we've gotten the royal look in doll form. EP1 got the most dolls, actually. But I get it, it's TPM 25th... well you can brave the waters again with ROTS 15th... Sure you'd make dolls no company had (if HT doesn't beat you to it) IMHO, the right way to go should've been a Barbs Style box set where you get the peaseant/basic Padme and 1-2 outfits.

(excuse local privledge again, but why wouldn't I add a couple hundred to just get the HT lmao, at least I'd've felt the money was worth it. REF: L.E. USD$130 SSHT USD$275 HKHT~USD$200)

On the subject of Hot Toys.

I did went to the Dark Side pop-up. I was so tempted to get the Cosbis. I've always been tempted by the Cosbis because I love how they colour Ahsoka's eyes FULL BLACK like a true alien (even if that wasn't intended) but I always hold back getting a cheap 2nd hand because I kinda vowed to not get any LA!soka merch. Ugh the cosbis are so cute.

My defence is down this time with her Clone Wars look. Anakin and Rex were there too but lower priority. Above all I want THRAWN more than anything!! Since the Ahsoka merch bloom, my underdog pride shifted to Thrawn and the tiny babyish Thrawn-zi is so cute. I'm merely holding myself back with the chant "no thrawn without eli, no thrawn-ko without eli-chi" (wait this got me curious in the jp translation of new thrawn lol)

Also the Cos Rider. They got her outfit wrong. They put a S3 dress Ahsoka in the Phase I Starfighter. and it's tiny. (<- I NEED THE DISASSTER LINEAGE)

I also get to see the LA young ahsoka up close. I don't know how accurate they made the costume to screen, I don't want it as long as it simplified the animated design. The figure also looks chubby. She was seated on the BARC next to Hayden-head TCW-dress Anakin and he looks SO constipated lmao

BTW there was that limited-to-300 Mando Armour Obi-wan that I was drooling all over. Unfortunately I wasn't a member or in the scalper gang so I don't have the privledge to splurge on that. I didn't pre-order TCW!Obi since it took 2 years from preview to pre-order opening and another 1.5-2 years to product, and seeing how little did I play with co. and how their prices dropped post-release, I didn't bother at that time. In the futre when I have my own display case, TCW Obi is on the list albeit possibly lower down.

Ahsoka Bag Clip. This blind bag set release last August. I've wanted them all since announcement, and they were just too pricey. I should count myself lucky a full boxset is still available EIGHT months post-release. I'll need to ask around to see anyone will share the cost with me. Othewise I'll just take the PNG.

I actually went site visit last summer for Celebration. I happened to be in Japan this May 4, so I didn't follow the ticket sale situation.

Truthfully, it wasn't that I haven't made up my mind about the trip, it's more I'm afrad it's going to be a sunk investment. - and I don't want to decide so soon.

A trip to Japan is easy decision, hitori or not. There's always something fun happening and to be explored. I'm convserational in the language and I knew the area in and out. I'm aware of the preparations and logistics around the convention even though it's gonna be my first.

Usually for those attending an overseas event, they secure the tickets first and plan the trip next. I am at a stage where I do neither now. The tickets these year are all doorstep pickups so it'd be easy to resell via e-payment and an email confirmation/QR code. There's always someone who can't go last-minute. Plenty will be happening outside either way - at least I'm counting on Ashley to host an Ahsoka group. Another reason I'm not so keen on getting an entry ticket is I knew all the panels will be add-on fees and you'd only get to see them far away. Honestly at this point I'm not deadset on meeting any of the actors, even Ashley. There'd at least be a present box I could be satisfied just delievering fanmail I don't have to pay hundreds to get a picture taken (lies, I'd love to - can't forget that DEAL getting the TCW squad for just 1k)

I was also holding out until they announce more guests. Would love to meet Hayden and Ewan. Maybe the Andor cast since with the delay, 2025 is gonna be their year.

There's also burnout from running so many sentai events this year (financially too) but we don't talk about that.

No. Money is a big problem. I'll be saving up for that sure, but Easter time, flight is gonna be expensive anyway. Hotel is another problem because the convention centre is on reclamation land and only surrounded by brand hotels that will surely charge a leg and become full-booked by first-timers. I actually have a net cafe in sight, but you see, even when I find a buddy to share room, I'll probably have to pay a lot for those two nights anyway XP I just. I just don't wanna walk 20 mins to and fro - I need to learn bicycle.

Haven't seen Tales, or rest of Visions v2. Not very interested in Acolyte - probably won't actively see a star war until Andor. That said, I have the Barriss portion DL'd and look forward to seeing it in the coming week.

I guess what really bothers me about him now is how low quality and low effort his videos are now, along with how wilted he seems as a personality? He's not vibrant and hands on and loud anymore, he doesn't do skits, Bad Unboxing is dead, you hardly see him dicking around with his bros, he doesn't wear costumes or weird 8 dollar Party City accessories, he condemns internet edge lords like he wasn't one himself and like he didn't build a community off of that iconography for years and years. I didn't subscribe to the guy to see him make vlogs of him hiking with squirrels or making fucking Ants On A Log Kindergarten snacks, I followed him cus of his audacity, honesty, snark, and self awareness.

Even modern day Eminem has the bit of Watch Me Rap Really Fast, Idubbbz kinda just doesn't have shit. He reacts to milquetoast shit and basically has one friend (his wife). And it's sad cus I legitimately don't think he has to do edgy / grossout humor to be funny, even if I wasn't bothered by those things and find gross out humor rather funny. The Leafy video, for example, stands perfectly fine on its own. Just take out him calling Leafy a faggot and it's still a funny, sharp, and effective criticism of a guy who's a fucking waste of space from head to toe, by a guy who knows exactly what he's doing. Same with the fact that he called Ricegum out for his treatment of women then collabed with boyinaband at the end of the same video. As a fan I really don't think his random use of slurs and the like were all there was to him, nor does it really bother me when a person's content ages poorly (there are many'a Rappers I love whose and views have aged poorly, and it's never much stopped me from liking them) but it seems that's how he felt.

Idk man just sad to watch the mighty fall. He went from that weird but funny older cousin you coincidentally went to high school with and hung with at every family function to the lame out of touch uncle you see once every blue moon who buys you merch for an anime you haven't cared about since you were 15. Just sad.

Was watchin a video about how Idubbbz failed in ways FilthyFrank didn't earlier that ended with the user comparing Idubbbz to Eminem in that they both had that self aware edge and irreverent sense of humor that spoke just enough truth that made you self reflect / analyze the world in a different way and how neither of them really have that anymore and just take themselves way too seriously now. And yeah. That was a damn good observation.

ANOTHER FIC IDEA!!

So like I was thinking that maybe before going to UA and getting OFA, he started a YouTube channel. He does a lot of things, but the most popular series is his podcast called “Hero Talk” and its where he Analyzes heroes and hero society. I was thinking it would be something like this:

Episode 1: Types of Heroes

• He talks about the differences between Spotlight, Underground, and Hybrid Heroes. And the benefits to each one and their areas of expertise.

Episode 2: Quirk Classification

• Breakdown of Mental, Physical, and Mutant type quirks.

Episode 3: Japan vs American Hero Charts

•I have this head cannon where there’s a top ten for each state and then, the ranking for the top ten of the country is between the number 1 ranked heroes from each state. And another head cannon I have is that it’s more common to see teams in America than Japan. Izuku explains that and goes into detail about the benefits of each hero ranking system.

Episode 4: Vigilantes

• He talks about the pros and cons of being a vigilante and also the loophole that if you’re quirkless/ fight quirkless you technically can’t be charged. He talks about how he respects vigilantes for what they do, even if it isn’t “legal.”

Episode 5: Villains

• Hardly anyone becomes a villain by choice. It’s because of circumstance. Whether it’s discrimination, poverty, poverty because of discrimination, it’s all comes back to the fact that someone pushes villains to what they do. He also talks about how many villains that are arrested shouldn’t be labeled that. Someone who commits petty theft shouldn’t be labeled something as extreme as villain.

Things would kinda continue as they did in cannon, except for some villains/thugs are reluctant to fight him because they’ve heard bits of his podcast and know that he understands them. (Also I wanted there to be like a quick video before the sports festival and be like “Wish me luck, guys!”) His channel also does other stuff like Gaming, Live-streams, Hero Merch Unboxing Videos, and Cosplay.

Another thing: The only people from his class that recognized him was Kaminari and Todoroki. But they don’t really say anything about it in public. (The reason why he wasn’t as recognized is because I kinda wanted his fan base to be in America. Like, he speaks English in his videos and just puts subtitles if theres any Japanese.)

Later on when they get to the dorms, one day when Izuku is streaming, Kaminari ends up joining him in whatever he is playing. That livestream is trending and the rest of the class find out about the channel.

The next Hero Talk video is a Hero Conspiracy video. (Todoroki is a special guest for that one.) On the white board begins them are the words: “Does Best Jeanist have a mouth?” So, that video was a fun one for sure. (Todoroki isn’t as fluent as Izuku so he resorts to Japanese a few times)

Later he vlogs what it’s like to live at the dorms. He introduces everyone.

Then, in another video, they do a food challenge video. (Check out the Monster Ramen challenge from the Anime Man) He could bring a couple of his classmates to do it with him and it could be fun.

And maybe he could collaborate with other Japan Based Youtubers. ( Akidearest, The Anime Man, Abroad in Japan, CDawgVA) They would think he’s too precious and pretty much adopt him. And maybe he could livestream with a few VTubers too. Idk.

So yea. I might write this, might not. If anyone wants to make their own version of this, feel free. I was thinking maybe TodoDeku, KamiDeku, or ShinDeku for this. But if you don’t wanna, it’s cool. I’ll read regardless of ships or lack thereof.

Hello! I think most cuts are greatly over exaggerated. Like when jikook are reaching for something the other has or starting to hug and then the scene ends. Name me any ship and I cam find you cuts just like that. It's honestly just about timing I think. Bighit is showing us things, whenever that part of what is being shown is over, they cut the scene. It's not them hiding Jikook hugging or feeding each other. It's sad because we like to see it and we always want more, but it's not a suspicious cut or them hiding interactions. Doesn't mean there aren't some that ARE suspicious though.

For example, the way they didn't show Jungkook touching Jimin for the pose during RUN. Idk why they cut it. But let's talk about why it raises my eyebrows... when JK got to Jimin he still had like 2.5 minutes left on his timer. Then the camera pans away to focus on the members further down the line talking. There is CLEARLY a cut because 5 seconds later, JK is moving onto the next member from Jimin, but he all of a sudden had less than a minute left on his timer. To the point where he couldn't even finish touching the rest of the members to guess their pose, he only made it through 4 members.... so HOW LONG was he running his hands over Jimin?! And why couldn't we see? We saw him stick his head between Hobi's legs and run his hands all over his thighs at the same time.... he couldn't have done anything worse than that with JM, right? 👀 I'm just saying...

One of the most obvious and suspicious cuts that haunts me to this day is the NYE performance cut. JK is talking to the camera, Jimin comes up and draps himself over JK, leans his face up and over into JKs face (legit, looks like he is going for a tired, we did it all done, kiss) and then CUT. JK is legit cut off mid speech and the next frame has them separated and JK finishing up whatever he was saying... but like it was a huge ass cut out of no where... it makes ZERO sense to have cut the video there unless, maybe something happened?

The way that JK was obviously caging Jimin in for a very long time during the BE album unboxing that they did. It was already like almost a full minute on the video, but the video had 4 obvious cuts in it during the time that JK was leaning over him. He hung out there for AWHILE. I don't think anything sus happened, I think editors just cut it for time, but damn. He really didn't move from Jimin.

The way that ZERO footage was given to us from Jikook sharing a bedroom in Bon Voyage 2. The most we got was a shot of their shut door and a selca Jimin posted of them in bed together. That's IT. We got shots of every other member sharing rooms and inside their rooms, but absolutely nothing from jikooks room. Wonder why that room ONLY became a no camera zone? 👀

Same thing for when they shared a tent. We got footage of them setting up the tent (where JK definitely seemed to enjoy the view of Jimin in his shorts). We got footage of them getting into the tent. We got a picture the members took of them passed out inside the tent. But that's it. We got more from the other members and whoever they were sharing with, but nothing from Jikook.... 👀

And in BV4, we had that super weird cut when they were all on the couch talking. Jimin leaned over to give JK a hug, cut. Some moment of footsies started up, cut. All of a sudden, Jimin is blushing and JK is leaving to go put on a long coat... bts is teasing the heck out of them.... ahem, seems like something happened during that cut that got you both all flustered and required group teasing 👀 I have a post about this one up in more detail on my masterlist

And one that I'm so sad we missed out on, is this behind the scenes from RUN. Why did the footage of whatever led up to this moment never get released?? I bet it was soft as heck and so cute

And of course, it's odd and suspicious how many cuts there were in the Mosquito Net scene and how chopped up the footage was they released of that night. What all was deleted? What couldn't we have seen or heard? Because there were so many giant cuts in that whole scene. I have a post up with more detail about that as well in my masterlist. Plus the morning after, JK goes to cuddle Jimin in bed and we don't actually know how long he stayed there for because there was a cut in that footage too (which makes sense if all they did was cuddle, they would rather show other things and people doing things than just 2 members sleeping).

Thanks for the ask! There are quite a few moments that make me wonder with Jikook and when/how the cameras cut. But the majority of them are honestly not worth thinking too hard about and are just honestly things that happen in entertainment shows to everyone. Hope this helped! 💜

Lloyd: he makes conspiracy videos and shit. He talks about how all princesses are liars and the truth behind fights people misinterpret. He would also rank stuff on tier lists. And he probably plays minecraft.

Nya: she would probably make vlogs about her latest inventions with Pixal or something. I think that could be cute <3 like just showing off all the crazy gadgets they build. or she'd make cute videos with Jay or something.

Pixal: would also have a vlog channel, but instead of interesting stuff, like new gadgets and stuff, she shares the various little wonders of the world. Like, imagine her recording a ladybug that landed on her hand for 5 minutes. But that's all it is. She doesn't even talk, it's just the bug. Or she records a video of her playing with a spinny office chair, adjusting the settings and messing around with it. Everyday delights. But that's all they are.

Jay: he's a meme account I'm sorry. What else would be be? Maybe one of those cringey kids YouTubers that does all of those challenges for money, but they never run out of money. Or a toy unboxing channel. Omg imagine Jay with a toy unboxing channel. Kai: he's the douche that makes prank videos. They were harmless at first, like "oooh I changed all the photos in the monestary to my face", and now it's like "ooooh I pretended to kidnap Lloyd and sell him to Harumi for a cheese stick, absolutely real, must see" and now everyone's just annoyed and a little traumatized.

Zane: you know that one Indian guy on YouTube you turn to when your math teacher doesn't know how to teach you the curriculum? Zane is that teacher. He has educational videos online, and he's great. He answers all the questions ever.

Cole: Homeboy makes dancing videos. Plays a song and dances to it. Instructional dance videos, teaching others how to dance. Sometimes he posts little harmless jokes he plays on the others. But they're actually harmless and not traumatizing. And he makes videos with his dad, teaching young people how to do things a father would typically teach his child. Like shaving, or tying a tie, or how to throw a ball. Can you tell I have a favorite?

In the months leading up to VidCon, some fans on the internet made a few discoveries: first of all, that the inside of Link’s house is painted green. This is a big deal because all of his videos are filmed outside either in his backyard or on trips that he and the brosquad go on to do…whatever bros do. explosions. idk. The point is he had some announcement about VidCon and filmed it inside. Only the wall and a potted plant were shown.

However, the colour was similar to the the shade of Zelda’s living room. Fans dug through years and years of old videos and found a clip of Zelda walking through a hallway, where there was an open door and a glimpse of a houseplant.

There were 2 types of responses to the theory:

“They could just be roommates guys calm down”

“and they were ROOMMATES?”

others pointed out that Link could just not have a house and had to crash in Zelda’s

Some guy on reddit claimed he had a botany degree and declared that the houseplants in the clips were not of the same genus. Normal people pointed out that the plant would have grown 4 years between the clips and would look considerably different.

#Zelink trended on twitter for a while and people posted other old clips from both of their channels and the frog video blew up again

Impa retweeted a post tagged as #zelink with “rofl” and later publicly apologized for causing confusion.

Fans noticed that in the “can a motorcycle drive over my arm” (it was clickbait he’s fine) episode 2 years ago, Link was eating out of a paper lunch bag with his name written on it in handwriting that a few people claimed to look like Zelda’s, leading people to believe that she had packed him a lunch.

However, this theory was shot down with the counterargument that Zelda can’t cook. although. i mean how much skill do you need to make a sandwich.

No one knows what tumblr is doing at this time

Zelda wore a scarf in her “Save the Sand Seals” video that matched identically to the scarf Link wore when he travelled to Hebra to film a shield surfing video, but it’s been debated wether it’s actually the same scarf or not.

Neither Zelda nor Link has spoken up about the theories, and besides Impa’s one slip on twitter, neither has any of their friends. Zelda received a lot of backlash for the assumption that she was dating Link because he has a lot of delusional fans that didn’t want her to “steal their man” or whatever the hell that type of fan would get mad about

after that whole mess, everyone was even more anticipant of VidCon in the hopes that some of their questions would be answered.

The whole batch went to VidCon this year: Link, Impa, Daruk, and Riju are a gang while Sidon and Mipha go together and Zelda & Revali each go separately. Urbosa is there for supervision moral support

Zelda has always been much better at dodging questions that she doesn’t want to answer than anyone else, so her Q&A went without a hitch. When asked to confirm the rumours she said “which one?” and then moved on to the next question (without actually confirming any rumours).

Link is generally a more awkward person but eventually said that he had filmed the video in Zelda’s house because it was nicer and didn’t realize it would cause such an uproar. Fans were disappointed, but Bolson claimed he saw Link and Zelda exiting the hotel elevator on the same floor after Link’s Q&A session. No one believed him.

Fans went back to theorizing over who Link, Zelda, and Sidon were all dating, because apparently they can’t just be dating unknown people and have to be with other YouTubers

Sidon and Bazz got engaged about a week after VidCon, making at least 4 preteen girls cry

Sidon x Sidon made a brief comeback but Sidon spoke up about his fandom for the first time ever on twitter and told everyone that no, he was not dating himself. eventually, everyone settled down and accepted that none of them were in a relationship save for a few loud fans.

Link and Zelda still got the occasional “when will you tell us who you’re dating?” comment but most of them were joking and the people who still hardcore shipped them were generally frowned upon. Zelda’s popularity went up after VidCon and she regained the 200k subscribers she’d lost after the first theory dropped.

Two months after VidCon, Link posted a video titled “Zelda and I’s House Tour!” and gave around 45 million people a heart attack

as revealed in the video, they had actually been dating since they were 16 and everyone’s just a fool.
