like. trust me, i know what the fuck i’m talking about. i used to identify as like... panaesthetic aromantic demipansexual gendervague demiguy or w/e, so uh, i’ve been there

and like. you have no idea how much hurt i went thru during that time, tearing my trauma, dysphoria, disabilities, and identity apart because i thought an identity isn’t right for me unless i feel 100% comfortable with it (bc that’s what mogai tumblr taught me)

i started out as a gender dysphoric person who found immense amounts of joy in the fact that i loved girls, i used to id as a lesbian for a while in jr high, and that was something i really loved. but homophobia + mogai tumblr really fucked me up for several years

no one told me that being a lesbian can in itself cause very deep dysphoria. no one told me trauma and being same-gender attracted + non-cis can cause issues with romantic and sexual feelings. so of course i thought all this mogai shit sounded good, bc i didn’t know better and wanted a quick solution to how much homophobia and transphobia were hurting me

and i’m really not the only one. this is what mogai tumlr advocated, and tries to sell to young, questioning lgbt people. they don’t care at all about trauma victims, how internalized homophobia works, how lgbt history is full of the things they’re introducing as new, how we’ve always lived with so many different forms of expressing your identity without splitting it into fifty billion pieces. lgbt identities are whole, coherent experiences and do not need to be split apart. you are hurting us, all of us, even if you think that “well some people benefit from the split attraction model”

i suffered for years because of mogai discourse, and all i got was cishet aces calling me a Really Evil Gay and an aphobe
