#52frames_blurtheaction I waited a little less than the last minute for this week's #52Frames challenge. If this pattern continues I not even wait until Sunday to take it! The challenge was to "blur the action" and it was tough. It would probably have been easier to shoot on my DSLR but I'm lazy and didn't feel like digging it out. I also used portrait mode on my phone which I always forget I have and it worked better than trying to use pro mode. Got great depth and a combo of blurred motion and sharp edges This was far from the original plan but I think it's super cute. So I decided to try doing #52Frames again this year and even though I managed to take this pic within the time frame (11:40pm lol) I then also managed to forget to upload before time ran out. Oops. In my defense I was eating cheesecake. So then I said screw it, spent a little time editing it in LR and figured I'd still post to IG as my own accountability post. This was taken on my phone, I'm viewing these as creative exercises to get ideas that I could then maybe translate into photoshoots. The first week's theme is always self portrait which I kinda loathe but here we are. Leading Lines, 2021, Week 2 Considering I came up with this idea very last minute I'm pretty pleased with how it came out. It's been an insane week and this week's deadline really snuck up on me. I shot this with my phone and edited using Photoshop Express, but what's interesting to me is it really reminds of some of the photography I did back in highschool using film and a dark room. I rarely take photos of myself and when I saw that the first photo I had to do for this challenge was a self-portrait I wasn't excited. When I've appeared in front of the camera before I've always been in heavy makeup and costuming. Tonight, on new year's eve, I finally realized I should stop worrying about it and just do it. 2020 has been a hell of a ride and looking perfectly put together in a photo should be (and is) the least of my worries.
