I want to be clear about something with the new clip from the DMC show, I don't like the quip Dante made at the end. But not because it's dumb or cringey.

Dante's always acted like an idiots, but the difference between game Dante and show Dante is that game Dante is confidently cringey. Look at this guy.

He's a fucking dork. But he's confidently a dork. In most of his scenes where he's acting like a goof, he's completely alone. Hell, in DMC3 when Lady is pouring her heart out about how Arkham killed her mum he's laughing and dancing around like a jackass, and after the Faust Hat dance you clearly see that Trish is unimpressed by his performance, but he doesn't care. Dante doesn't play to an audience, so long as he thinks what he's doing is cool he'll do it. And that confidence that he's being cool even when he's doing something stupid as fuck is what makes him ACTUALLY COOL.

So having him try to impress some woman he saved feels out of character. I would have much preferred if had had said something really, really stupid and the woman cringed like she just ate a whole lemon than him trying to impress her with a lame one liner. He should have acted in a much more like a confident dumbass rather than telling this lady that he's usually cooler.

Also referencing He-Man just feels like shitty marvel humour and I don't think it fits at all. The three stooges comment worked much better.
