It’s djhalsey ‘s birthday and I wanted to write a personal blurb for her as a present, I was originally going to write one based off of fuck em only we know by Banks bc I told her I would write it and I will but I came across this song and got an image in my mind and needed to write it so bad so I did. Happy birthday Amber!! Love you and hope you had a good day xx

You and Luke didn’t fight often. You didn’t fight ever, actually. You couldn’t even remember the last time you had a fight with him; and you certainly couldn’t recall what it had been about. Maybe that was a contributing factor to just how big the fight had been that night; but it didn’t matter anymore. The fight was now hours past, fading from your memory more and more with each passing moment. You slept soundly with his arms wrapped tightly around you, with his steady, warm breath on your neck, his half naked body pressed against your back. Your top was somewhat twisted around your torso; making your body vulnerable in a way that didn’t make you uncomfortable, and wasn’t surprising due to the fact that once you made up, you proceeded to make love, the act of which almost never failed to produce some pushed aside clothing on either his body or yours. But that was in the past too, although it was certainly memorable. Your body and thoughts relaxed themselves almost instantaneously afterward and you fell into a deep sleep, but the opposite had happened for Luke. He couldn’t stop thinking about what had happened, the harsh words he had spit at you kept running though his mind over and over. He tried not to think about it too much, knowing you had forgiven him the moment he said he was sorry; but this time he didn’t feel like sorry was enough. He let out a soft sigh, deciding not to fight to sleep when it was clear his mind didn’t want to do so, quietly picking up his guitar from its resting place and settling back down on the bed, strumming whatever came to mind, while watching your chest rise and fall with your breath. As he went along he found his fingers playing a familiar tune, and he started to hum along. Eventually, once he was sure he wasn’t going to wake you he starts to sing. ��And the hours roll by like the sea, but I wish that we had more, more, watch your chest swell and sink as you breathe, we’re together,” his voice sings softly, eyes tired but not enough for him to be able to sleep. He continues to play the simple tune, picking and choosing the words as he goes along, the ones that hit his heart in a way that he’s not even sure he understands. “And we’ll lay here as one, whilst we wait for the sun, I’ll wait forever,” he sings, the song ending and your eyes fluttering open almost immediately after. “Amber,” he whispers, smiling down at you, his eyes still sleepy but his face radiant with happiness as he sets his guitar on the side of the bed, his body settling back against yours with a contented sigh. His eyes start to droop instantly, but he doesn’t fall asleep before pressing a kiss to your shoulder, whispering how much he loves you.
