@JUAN SANCHEZ Amsterdam-based DJ/producer and founder of the Format label Juan Sanchez has been considered a crowd favorite for years in the international techno community. Promoters across the globe have already called on Juan’s signature sound: stripped-down, powerful techno designed for peak time hours at mainstages as well as more intimate settings. Juan has performed in a wide variety of venues and festivals including Berghain (DE), D-Edge (BR), Club4 (ES), Shankeys (Ibiza), Awakenings, HYTE and Time Warp, to name but a few. Aside from performing, Juan is frequently on studio lockdown, having released numerous cuts on labels such as Stockholm Ltd, Wolfskuil and Drumcode Ltd. amongst many others. Furthermore, Juan also curates his own label Format Records. Its releases have seen warm welcomes from artists worldwide, including Ben Sims, Speedy J, Oscar Mulero, Luke Slater, DVS1, Laurent Garnier a.o. @FLUG Flug, as his name suggests, allows his audience to take a trip back to their roots, back to their inner self and what it is to really feel techno. In venues such as, Space Ibiza, Arena Club Berlin, Rex Paris, Moog Barcelona, Hyte Amsterdam, and MAYDAY, Dortmund to name a few, the Argentinian´s definition of techno has been clearly demonstrated not only through his DJ sets that are as devastating as they are uplifting with his serious kick drums, use of hi-hats and reverberating basslines, but also through driving his own organically produced techno forward with an EP released on CLR – ‘Sincrodestino’, and remixes for SOMA – Slam Reverse Proceed Remixes, only to scratch the surface, cutting his industrially chizzled sound with melodical rythms both elegant and almost eloquent in nature. His music is now recognised and played worldwide having artists such as, Chris Liebing, Adam Beyer, Len Faki, Dave Clark, Ben Sims, Speedy J, DVS1, Pfirter and Joseph Cappriati, among many others, as supporters of his work. 3. Favorite musical artist / group you started listening to this year? –> DJ Shadow is blowing my mind, man. I highly recommend him to people who like Nujabes or Daft Punk. Cashmere Cat is also amazing. Also! Django Django! I actually think you’d like them a lot, Nic. 

4. Movie of the year? –> Ehh…don’t really have one. I mean, Thor was kinda cool.

5. TV Show of the year? —> Eh..well I’ve been watching a lot of anime lately. Attack on Titan season 2 was off the chizzle and I loved it. And NO GOGO I HAVEN’T WATCHED TABOO YET, so I’d like to reserve judgement. But uh…yea I think Attack on Titan, maybe? Idk if that came out last year or this year tho lmao.

Having a solid carrer in what he truly loves, Flug now plans to start his own record label early next year with his new album ‘The Man Behind the Artist’, already in the pipeline to be edited and released on one of Berlin’s record labels, Enemy at the end of 2015.
